My experience with Iberia was both shocking and deeply disappointing.
My luggage was mistakenly delivered to Bogotá, even though I was repeatedly assured at every stopover that it would be sent to my final destination. As a result, my bag was either stolen or mistakenly taken from the baggage claim. Thankfully, it was returned four days later — but in a completely different city.
Despite being covered by the Montreal Convention and Iberia’s own terms and conditions, I have yet to receive any reimbursement for the essential replacement items I had to purchase during this time. Iberia has ignored my emails for weeks and consistently tries to shift responsibility to their codeshare partner Avianca — who in turn blames Iberia due to the initial flight delay.
It is completely unacceptable for a European airline to disregard international agreements and their own policies in order to avoid compensating customers. The handling of my complaint was unprofessional, the communication was almost nonexistent, and the situation severely disrupted my trip. I am extremely disappointed in Iberia and will avoid flying with them in the future.
Recommendation: Don't book this Airline
