Huntington Bank and it's underwriters were extremely disappointing to work with througha HELOC application and approval process. I applied back in March of 2023 and for 6 months they kept stringing my application out with several periods that lasted weeks with zero replies, only to come back requesting more data, more documents, more hard inquiries on my credit report. Every time I was told we were golden and approved and should close shortly and then it would begin again. Today I was called with what I thought was word of the final approval and closing details, only to be told the underwriter changed their mind and declined the loan. SIX MONTHS! My recommendation is NEVER do business with Huntington or it's affiliates. I wasted half a year only to come up empty handed to finish my much-needed home updates. Don't tell me I'm approved and then say I'm not. They rope you in with one credit check and then subject you to a completely different final process. I felt carrot dangled and constantly on the verge of denial or approval. It was very stressful. Huntington showed they were a highly unprofessional, indifferent bank with almost mood swing shifts in decisions. I recommend trying other lenders before them to save you the incredible frustration I experienced. Their process hindered my credit score and now I have to start over with several inquiries and a lower score thanks to Huntington Bank.

Desired outcome: To have the lender provide a solution to what they said they had in order that they then turned around and said they did not and based the decision on.
