I like to get my taxes done as soon as possible even though they are really easy and I could do myself I have chosen HRblock to do them the past few years to get them done correctly and fast I paid 290.00 dollars for this well I got my federal back quick but turns out they did something wrong with my state and had to do again it is now almost the end of March and I still don't have now I'm a single mom and 290.00 is a lot for me so when you've made a mistake is there some kind of refund cause I could of done myself and got back quicker, I'm not very happy.

I went to do my taxes in Ontario CA H and R block first they gave me a women that spoke broken English it was a big mistake I requested another person and they told me she was the only one available so I had no choice.. I was running late for work so I settle for her I've worked for 2 years and my refund came up to $291 now is that cheating me out who can help me

After being audited by ma for huge mistake of my income on my state return, I set an appointment in december 2015 to have h&r block amend my return. As to their policies, if the mistake is their wrong doing, they will refund any penalty and interest due. They submitted for my $213. 00 interest and never received it. Late january 2016, I realized that I still had not received it and made a few more calls.In the middle on february I was told that a check had been mailed and that I would be receiving it in a couple days; well the beginning of march (5th, 2016) has arrived, and my tax consultant informed me that the request had been submitted again and awaiting regional approval. Upon my followup this morning 3/7/2016, still nothing had been done. I called and asked to speak to the regional manager but was intercepted by the store manager. I was assertive that I was going to post to social media if this claim was not resolved immediately. I received the approval email shortly after to find the it will take another 4 - 6 weeks to process this refund due since december 2015. Calling the corporate office after a period of time the call was ended; i'm not sure if they hung up on me, but I never received a call back to finish the conversation. So let me me finish it here by not recommending hr block - they do not stand by their work.

On January 21, 2016 my husband and I went to the H and R Block office in Desloge Missouri to file our return. The preparer failed to ask for a 1095A for myself, and filed the taxes without it. On February 13, 2016 we received notice from the IRS that we needed to provide a copy of my 1095A and submit a form 8962 and a new page 2 with our signatures on them. My husband took the required paperwork to the office on a Wednesday and we were assured it would be faxed that evening. However, as Monday rolled around the new forms had not been submitted. When we called to ask what the problem was, the secretary said he had ' misplaced ' the 1095A . After some searching, it was finally located and faxed to the IRS. we asked about getting our fees refunded or waived, and we were told we were ' Shxt out of luck ' on that idea...because that company never waives fees regardless of how much the preparers mess things up. This one mistake slowed our return down by nearly a month, and not one single person in that office cared one bit about the emotional distress placed on my family and I due to one rookie mistake made by a preparer who claimed to be a 5 yr veteran preparer. We just want our $233.00 refunded, since that would be the correct plan of action for this company.

first appointment, preparer has zero idea who we are, says no record of 2 appointments, even tho made yr before with him and even tho confirmed earlier that day with receptionist, then we say ok we ll go to more expensive office to prearer from few yrs before and she keeps trying to pitch other servuces we don't want or are interested in; then make apt agin and again preparer not there no one knows ho we are, no one knows about offered discount from supposed office manger and o ne knows how to do a trust return, again have to go back, no one knows mount to charge and refusing to send in irs return till pd, wont return calls or emails;customer serviceat corporate useless and ineffective

They assigned the wrong tax professional to review my return and now I can't get it changed and my return is unaccessible to me and when I call their TFN [protected] I experienced the following issues : getting trapped in an IVR and disconnected when my request did not match their preprogrammed answers, hung up on by an agent - I expressed I was frustrated and she simply hung up on me. I called the TFN on their site [protected] and nothing happened... the phone didn't ring, there was no "thank you for calling HR Block" etc. I called a local office and explained the issue - they said that they had received multiple complaints about rude employees, issues with incorrect assignment to untrained agents, etc. I asked for a refund so I can submit my taxes with another company, and was told someone would call me back. Ridiculous run around and I will NOT use them again.

The beginning of January I went to H&Rr Block to have my taxes prepared. I had all my information with me every document. The tax preparer completed my taxes, so I thought. I was given my first completed package feeling confident I went home. Two days later I was given a call by the tax collector and was told that he did not finish the paper work. He informed me that because I hadn't signed off on not having to pay the out of pocket balance there was a form that I needed to fill out so it could go through. I said OK I will be there the next day. I went in and of course the computer facing him and with only the information he'd given me the prior day I'm electronically signing. Well now I'm done signing electronically and I get a txt while I'm sitting there stating the IRS has excepted my refund. Just so happens the tax preparer went to the printer and brought back these papers I have already electronically signed off on with a totally different price then the initial one. Not only did he lie to me but he took away my right to change my mind and go somewhere else. He was so upset that he offered to give me twenty five dollars off next year
I said Im never coming back here again you should have been honest and told me the price had changed, he deliberately left to me to get me back in there knowing the price had drastically changed
It went from 386 dollars to 435 dollars. He took away my right to go somewhere else. Then I find out he spelled my name wrong, he also didn't attach my insurance papers that's it. So now I'm so upset I can't even believe that this is happening I trusted this company I honestly thought they were lagitI was so wrong. So now I want my money back. I contacted H&R block headquarters. Oh how they act concerned. Have me a case number and everything, I told them the whole story ha what a joke. They called me today and said because they cannot prove I had my insurance papers with me they are not going to refund me any of my money back. Oh and I'm still waiting on my refund of been almost two months. I didn't mention they fired the man that did my taxes
Because he had messed up on so many people's taxes. Oh yes and they were only supposed to take the refund out of my federal but that took all of my state I didn't see a dime of it. I tell everyone who I can to never go to H&R Block never would I want anyone to go through what I have went through I'm hoping to

We purchased H&R Block Deluxe software CDs which says on box "+10% Refund Bonus. H&R Block will add 10% to the portion of your federal income tax refund put on a Staples eGiftCard when you purchase this product.”
We completed and submitted our taxes using our mac computer as we have done for years. This year as per their advertising on the package, it should have entitled us to an additional ten percent refund from H&R Block but we did not see how to get that anywhere in the program. Note program is on our computer from their CD and not online. We called H&R Block in mid February 2016 to inquire about it and was told we had to fill out form 8888 within the program before we submitted our taxes to get the refund but it does not clearly state that in tax program or the ad. The H&R Block representative we spoke to on the phone says it does! However, let me assure you as someone who has done their taxes with this software for many years and a former computer teacher, it does not; we just rechecked! We were NEVER given the option to have that bonus as the H&R Block customer service rep said we were. She said now it is too late! How convenient for H&R Block! If there were requirements they should have been CLEARLY indicated on the box or within the program. We feel this is false advertising and that we, and most likely many others are entitled to that bonus.

After 9 years of doing my taxes with HR Block this will be my final year. I always get charged almost $400 to file my taxes. As a loyal customer for so long it would have been nice to recieve a discount. Not only is the tax prep extremely expensive, the emerald card rips you off too. As soon as my refund went into the card $14 was deducted. Im so disappointed. I feel cheated and the sad part is they will continue to remove fees as I use the card.
HR block has shown no consideration for long term loyal customers.

I got an emerald advance on December 8th of 2015 for $900 they immediately took $45 fee out. On January 10 I made a payment of 36.35 which left a balance of $899.38 due on 2/15/2016. I filed my own taxes this year and had them deposited on to my Emerald prepaid card. The funds were deposited on 2/10/16 I immediately paid the balance of $899.38. Within an hour they had taken not only the $899.38 but an additional $919.15 . Was told on 2/10/16 it would be back on in 2 business days called on 2/12/16 only $899.38 had been credited back was told the $19.77 would be on my card in 2 business days it is now 2/17/16 and I am now being told it will take them 5 business days for them to call me back about it.

I've been filing my taxes with H&R BLOCK for the past 13 or so years. Last year the branch at Sahara and Maryland Parkway made a mistake on my taxes, which they corrected this year. This year, after filing I paid them with a check for $247.75, which they converted for immediate payment. They then deposited the check, deducting another $247.75 from my checking account. I verified with the bank, who informed me that I needed to have H&R BLOCK refund on their end. I returned to the branch, where they admitted the mistake, and after speaking to their Finance department, see the error and will give a refund, but I need to wait 7-10 business days to receive my money. This is not right. I returned to the branch and argued that they took MY money, immediately after service, and they should return it immediately. The lady that did my return even offered to ? me money from her account, because they know that it was their mistake. I told her that I have the money, its not the point: H&R BLOCK should not be holding money that is not entitled to them. I told them that after making mistakes on my returns 2 years in a row, I hope that they understand why I won't be using H&R BLOCK again.
I just called the customer service number and they "filled a complaint!". Someone will get back to me in 7-10 business days. ARE you listening, what good does that do me.

I have talked to H&R block about what happed to me at one of your offices I have a case number 1173949 where I was taken into a cubical to do taxes and the ceiling fell out and hit me in the shoulder and covered me with water. I back telling to me to contact building owner not H&R block H&R block knew there was a problem they had a bucket to catch the water but still took me into a dangerous both I asked to be compacted for what happened today I got a letter from a lawyer of Gail Orr the one running H&R block the lawyer saying if I keep talking about what happened to me they will sue me this is going to far there is a thing called freedom of speech and was also told they had some witness of others saying nothing happened when in a both how many are in both with you ( one ) for H&R block to lead a customer into a danger zone is the fault of H&R block not building owner the lawyer William Bradshaw sending me a letter on the behalf of H&R block telling me if I say anything H&R block will sue me is crazy I fill H&R block should make compensation for this matter

I have used the H&R Block website to do my taxes and file them for the last couple years. I am low income so I receive free filing and they have always offered that. This year when I did my 2015 taxes I had to pay to have them filed. I am very upset about this because I am very low income and I qualify for free tax filing. The problem with this is they do not tell you that you have to pay for the filing until you are all finished with your taxes and you are ready to file. Now who is going to go somewhere else and start all over and do their taxes again? That is a lot of time and numbers to have to re-enter somewhere else to get that free filing. I feel it is really bad that they do not disclose this to you right away before you even start your taxes. I believe this to be false advertisement. Had I known I was not going to get free filing with them as I have before I would have found someone else to do my taxes with. I feel I deserve to be refunded the money I paid to file my taxes as I am very low income and qualify for free tax filing. I paid $49.99 for federal filing and $36.99 for state filing. Could you please refund my money to me? I am very upset about this. I guess I should also file a complaint with the BBB regarding this.

My wife Jennie and I have been going to H&R Block's Duarte, CA office for the past several years. When we went to file our 2013 taxes in early 2014, we fully expected to file jointly as we had been ever since we were married. When our tax professional, Carita Herring (a very nice lady) found out that Jennie was now retired and, other than a little unemployment income, had no income for 2013, she said that Jennie didn't have to file and that I should file solo so that I could get the entire write-off on our mortgage. We followed her advice and received a refund of over $3K. We were subsequently audited and told that the mortgage write off was disallowed and we owed $2, 050. We returned to the Duarte office and were told first thing that this error was not their fault, they refiled jointly, got the payment down to $1, 907, and I was charged an additional $109.50 for an amended return. Since I had paid for peace-of-mind, I was a little shocked that HRB accepted no responsibility for the SNAFU, even though it was your expert that recommend we file separately. Had she filed jointly as always, this never would have happened. We would have received a much smaller refund, but I wouldn't have had to empty my savings account to pay the shortage two years later. We filed separately again in 2014, so I fully expect a repeat of this whole screw-up next year, but this time I won't be able to come up with another 2K. I feel like I have been conned by HRB. What exactly did I pay for when I bought the "peace-of-mind" option? What the hell constitutes an error on HRB's part if not this? It was all done at the recommendation of your tax professional. Then, to top it off, I had to pay another tax prep fee! You guys have quite a racket going with that peace-of-mind scam. I expect an explanation soon and, at the very least, a refund of the additional tax prep fee. Thank you.
