credit card penalties

Credit card was given on the condition that first year no charges will be levied. Inspire of this Rs. bill was issued by bank for Rs. 540 for credit card account opening charges, after received the bill i wrote a letter to HDFC bank. Bank has assured that account opening charges will be reversed and same has been reversed in time. But penalty for non payment of credit card account opening charges have debited in my account and that amount was increased up to Rs. 2800. This is not justified. Bank cannot charged on those amount which is not payable by customer.

ROBBERS AS THESE PEOPLE IN PITY HELP THE DISTRESSED BUT THIS HDFC BANK PEOPLE COMPELL THE CUSTOMER TO CREATE FRAUD BY PRESSURISING & FREQUENT CALLING THESE PEOPLE THOUGH OPERATING IN INDIA & MAY BE MOST OF THEM ARE INDIANS HAVE NOT YET LEARNED INDIAN CULTURE & THE INDIAN ETIQUETTES HENCE THEY TAKE THE CUSTOMER FOR GRANTED AND N NUMBER OF PEOPLE CALL ONLY ONE SINGLE CUSTOMER FOR THE SAME SILLY CAUSE & KEEP AWAY THE MAIN COMPLAINTS TO BUY OUT THE TIME SO THAT THE CUSTOMER IS FRUSTATED .THGIS IS MY COMPLAINT AS UNDER NOT YET REPLIED

    I BROKE IT & DROPEED IT IN THE ATM DROP BOX AT AMRAVATI WITH AN APPLICATION TO ISSUE NEW CARD .I DIDNOT GET THE CARD WHILE IT WAS SENT BECAUSE I WAS ON TOUR & MISSED THE DATES THE CARD WAS SENT I THINK TWICE AT AMRAVATI.I HAD TALKED WITH THE CONCERNED PEOPLE .THIS CORRECT TO VERIFY THAT THE CARD COULD NOT BE DELIVERED IN 2007.
    AS DUE TO TRANSFER I SHIFTED TO JALNA & TRANSFERED MY ACCOUNTS TO JALNA HDFC BANK ( YOU CONFIRM THE DATE & TRANSFER TOO) THEN I CALLED ON THE CARD CALL CENTRE No. FOR ENQUIRING

    3.WHAT A POOR MAN LIKE ME CAN DO AGAINST THE GIANT BANK LIKE HDFC & ITS EMPLOYEES HAD TO REQUEST FREQUENTLY THEN I MET A CUSTOMER SERVICE LIKE THE BESTOWMENT OF RELIEF THAT OF A GOD HE WAAS REALY INTELLIGENT BUT HIS MISTAKE WAS HE THOUGHT THE CUSTOMERS ARE REALY FOOLS .
    HE ASKED ME SEND A FAX OR LETTER JUST OMMITING OUT THE C/o WORD FROM THE ADDRESS SO THAT HE CAN ARRANGE THE DELIVERY OF THE CARD .
    BUT I WAS SUDDENLY SHOCKED AS I REALISE SENDING THE SAME DOCUMENT IN TWO TYPES IS EQUALY A FRAUD HENCE I PAID FEES TO ASK THE LEGAL PEOPLE IF I SEND THE FAX WITHOUT C/o WORD WON'T IT BE FRAUD OR FRADULENT ACT OF MINE ALL TOLD ME I WAS CORRECT SO CONVEYED THE GENTLEMAN THAT I DON'T WANT COMMIT A FRAUD .
    ONE FINE MORNING A COURIER GUY BOUGHT THE CARD WHICH I POLITELY REFUSED TO ACCEPT AS I HAD INTIMATED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXECUTIVE THAT UNLESS YOU SEND ME THE DETAILS OF
    1. THE DELIVERY OF CARD WILL BE AT XYZ ADDRESS & THE ADDRESS IS ACCEPTED BECAUSE TOMORROW SOME OTHER WISE EMPLOYEE OF THE BANK SHOULD NOT OPEN UP QUERRY TO PROVE HIS WORTH & CAUSE THE DEATH OF THE CUSTOMER.
    2.WHAT ARE THE LIABILITIES OF BANK TOWARDS THE CUSTOMER FOR
    TORTURING HIM CONTINUOUSLY ON PHONE
    MISLEADING HIM & HIS QUERRIES
    CAUSING SEVERE FRUSTATION TO THE CUSTOMER PURPOSEFULLY
    CALLING THE CUSTOMER WITHOUT PRIOR APPOINTMENT AT ANY TIME
    WHAT ABOUT THE LOSSES DUE TO THE 17000 OR SO RUPEES WHICH COULDN'T BE TURNED OVER DUE TO THE HDFC EMPLOYEES MISTAKE
    3.IT WAS SURPRISING THAT I GET ALL THE MAILS CORRECTLY I GET THE PROMOTION OFFERS CORRECTLY ON THIS SAME ID AGAIN THERE WAS ENQUIRY IN REALY DESCENT WORDS THRICE BY SOME MADAM ABOUT MY EMAIL ADDRESS.
    4.BEING A LIFE MEMBER OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANISATION, CONSUMER CONSORTIUM & A TRUE SELFLESS WORKER FOR THE CONSUMERS / CUSTOMER'S RIGHTS I HAVE PUT MANY PEOPLE ON THE TASK TO STUDY AND CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE BANK CAN BE FETCHED TO THE PRESS AS PER MY WILL & THE RIGHT ENTRUSTED BY THE CONSTITUTION TO ME AS THE CITIZEN OF THE DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY INDIA.AS I DON'T WANT TO HIDE PLEASE BE INFORMED ON THIS ASPECT.

When I am ready to pay the amount and that too at one shot, why the helll you are supposed to call my office and threaten my parents. I am not going to pay any thing now till the time i talk to people who have threatened my parents.

harassing people who are no longer their customers

I had HDFC Credit Card some 2-3 years back. I cancelled the card as didn't need to pay the yearly charges that they had put on my card and i had another card free of annual charges... but HDFC Credit Card guys keep calling me and keep telling that i have some amount due to pay which is so ridiculous as never made any purchase... They keep adding yearly cards to the card that i cancelled and keep calling me... They are the most unprofessional bank i have ever had the misfortune to interact with...

    Tactics Credit Card Companies Use to Get You to Pay More

    Although the credit card industry earns more than one trillion every year, they aren't satisfied with that, and have adopted dubious tactics to further fatten their wallets. Late and over-the-limit fees now account for more than half of their revenues, so they like to encourage or trick customers into paying some sort of penalty fee. And they are now only getting away with it, but they keep raising their fees up and up -- just a few years ago a penalty fee was about $10. Now the average is $29.00. Consumer groups estimate that soon these fees will average $59.00.

    Late and over-the-limit fees are not the only methods companies use to rake in trillions each year. There are also the credit insurance programs, universal default policies, dishonest marketing campaigns and other stupid card tricks. Many of the major issuers -- First USA (now Chase), Chase, Capital One, Providian (now owned by Washington Mutual), Citibank -- have been sued over allegations of unfair billing practices and accused of blatantly using tactics to cheat customers out of money. Some of these tactics are outlined below.

    Not posting your payment on the day it's received -- Federal law requires credit card companies to post your payment on the date it is received. If they fail to do so, they cannot assess you late charges or added finance charges. Still, a common tactic most card issuers use is to post only those payments received by 9:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. on a given date. Payments received at 9:01 a.m. are posted the next day despite the fact that all the major card issuers have payment processing centers that operate 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Best way to fight back: Send in your payment at least 10 days before the due date. If you can't do that for one reason or another, arrange to make your payments electronically by signing up at your credit card issuer's website so you can quickly zap a payment to them and they can't claim that they didn't receive your mailed payment until after the due date. It is interesting to note that almost all of the major credit card banks used to allow customers to quickly zap a payment to them via Paypal.com free of charge. Of course, this must have put a big dent in their late fee revenue so some of them stopped allowing this (Providian and First USA to name two).

    Tricking you in to paying late -- Federal law requires that credit card issuers mail you your statement at least two weeks before the due date, so companies have to resort to other tactics to get you to pay late. You know that your credit card payment is due on the 25th of the month, or do you? Your issuer might suddenly change it to the 20th of each month to try and get you to mail it in late. If it's received late, they will slap you with a $39.00 late fee. If it's late two or more times, they can legally increase your interest rate dramatically, to as much as 29%. At various times, several credit card issuers have even resorted to not mailing out statements at all to encourage customers to pay late under the theory that "it is a courtesy that we mail statements out, not a requirement." [First USA actually used that as an excuse once and lost many customers as a result.]. Best way to fight back: Always open your monthly statement immediately upon receipt and check the due date. Don't be surprised if it has suddenly moved up five days and you received your statement "late". You might have to immediately write a check and get it in the mail that day to allow at least seven days for it to get to them before the due date.     KOLKATA, May 29: Credit cards may be a status symbol to some but for a vast majority of consumers irregularities in credit card bills can cause a great deal of harassment. The recent victory of a credit card holder against a leading bank will be a boost to such consumers who are regularly harassed by their banks.

    A city consumer court has come down heavily on ICICI bank by slapping a fine of Rs 1 lakh, the highest compensation imposed by the court so far for discrepancy in credit card operations. The court of Calcutta District Forum, Unit-II, president Mr TK Ghosh and members Mr H Bhattacharya and Ms R Acharya pulled up the credit card division of the bank for recovering a loan that was never received by the customer. The bank allegedly asked the consumer to repay loan installments along with interest including late fees for a loan amounting to Rs 33,500, supposedly issued by the bank, which was neither solicited nor asked for or received by Mr Kalyan Kumar Sur. The court ordered the bank to pay Mr Sur a litigation cost of Rs 5000 along with compensation worth Rs 1 lakh.

    Mr Sur was taken by surprise when his credit card statements suddenly displayed interest charges. He complained that bank did not respond to his repeated e-mails when he asked the latter to provide him with loan details. Instead the bank allegedly harassed him further by sending loan collectors to his residence.

    The clause 5.1(b) under Reserve Bank of India’s credit card operation guidelines reads: “Unsolicited loan or other credit facility should not be offered to the credit card customers. In case any credit card facility is extended without the consent of the recipient, the credit sponsoring bank will be liable to pay such penalty as may be considered appropriate.” During the court proceedings the bank failed to substantiate with written documents that it had received a loan request from Mr Sur. When contacted ICICI Bank spokesperson in Mumbai said: “We are aware about this case and the bank might appeal before the state commission against the order passed by the city consumer court.”

    The Professional way for the Collection Method by HDFC BANK :


    The usual course of business to remind of payment obligation, follow-up calls and the professional method by HDFC,
    the concerned Bank's representative initiates intimidating phone-calls to the victim's family in his absence by making unprofessional way of a routine payment follow-up call.

    The concerned Bank pretend themselves some time senior police officer or some time a senior lawyer from Patiala Court .

    The concerned Bank unleashes repeated threatening to the victim's wife as well as the entire family that they were coming to seal off the home (of the victim) in any moment of time.
    They repeatedly scare the victim's family by saying that “ Right now, we are at Jamia Police Station so get the entire belonging out of home
    within an hour and we are coming with a police to seal off the house”.

    The concerned Bank calls the victim's home from the phone numbers (mentioned below).
    HDFC Bank rushes to the victim's account (Saving Account : 0891000075233) and withdraws the entire Savings (Fund TRF-DM-4346771003903573)on 23/11/1004 without serving any prior notice to the victim.
    The boastful calls made by HDFC's Rep over the phone with threatening like "" I am in Jamia Nagar police Station with the court order for House-to be sealed. So get out of house immediately with your belongings or deposit the outstanding within 2 hours...
    Those calls came from G I Dogra(claiming to be a senior Advocate, Phone NO: 9911214584 ) threatening to seal the home.
    Similar calls made claiming to be from Tees Hazari Court (Phone NO :9912703147, 9350416532).
    Again, a call was received claiming to be from Gurhgaon Police Station (Phone No: 9312894536).

    What a mockery!! One of the call came from Sangeeta PS claiming herself to be a Senior Judge(Phone NO: 9871067704, 9910755367, 9891525423, 9911576938 ).

    So I hope that when these guidelines adopted by HDFC BANK in this victim's case that is me, are referred to the RBI, these professional ways and professional methods will help RBI strengthen the Economy of the Banks concerned in a very HUMANE and HEALTHY way!!!

    Please understand !!! that I have fully and very well understood the guidelines set by RBI...and applied and followed by HDFC BANK???

    Great article. I completely agree. I also know of people who are getting calls from so called Police officers, who are threatening the debtors to pay off the credit card dues. The debtors are being informed that there is a 'non-bailable' arrest warrant against them. However, if they (debtors) wish to reconcile, then by making a payment to the bank could solve everything within 15 minutes!!!

    i am beeing harrased by HDFC people like crazy for the payments...i have been out of town and cldnt make the paymeny on time...the collection executives call and abuse on phone..they say all inds of words to u ..and on asking their name they say we are HDFC...
    i want to file a case against them...they have been harrasing like crazy...if u can take heed of it the higher authorities ...then look into it...i am filing a case against you people...

    I am the victim of this credit card division of Hdfc bank. They never sent any statemnet to me. and all of sudden i was surprised that from my account 13000 was transfered by the collection department.I thought ok fine now its finished . Now again after more then 1 year these guys wake up and without any prior notice the blocked my account. and to a surprise today when i checked 6960 was again withdrawn from my acount by the credit card department FUND TRF DM-4346781101376465. I dont know how long i have to pay which I am not owing. I am running to and fro to get hold of customer care executive for the settelment but every time i am said this is not the right department and a new number is given to me which i am unable to get through. I emailed to HDFC 2-3 times but no response.
    Please let me know what should i do. My hard earn money is goping in waste which i am not owing.

atm machin not working for the last 10 days

The atm machines of hdfc bank at vashi railway station premises is not working from last ten days, as this is one of the busiest and prime location in new bombay and major it companies are in these area..

Inspite of complaining on the customer support no one is taking action against this complaint. We are facing lots of problem in withdrawing cash as this is the nearest atm in this area which is not working.

It is a little strange to see that hdfc website address exits. As per their manager, it does not. I had the misfortune to take a personal loan with hdfc, my first encounter and thankfully the last. I, noman syed had taken a personal loan with hdfc on may06 and have been thinking of repaying it from june 06,... Reason no customer service (Cant say bad cant term what was provided in name of customer service as service). On my first opportunity I took another loan from a better bank and called hdfc to close the loan and then life gave me the chance to get in touch with the worst, incompetent, unqualified, rude and in human service agents ever. So I thought maybe I should go to the branch and talk to a hdfc manager. I had more pain in store for me. I told I wanted to close the loan dated 12/02/2007 and had the money to do that and was given a closing amount letter, which was incorrect as it had not calculated my dues correctly... They showed osd (Out standing just in case the one who is reading this mail doesn’t understand banking like all hdfc employees) for a payment that I had made on september 06 which they claimed has mysteriously gone missing, it got credited to a different account, is hdfc still using ledgers and balance books??? Was informed that since it has got credited to a different account (This is after submitting more proof then charles sobhraj did in his murder trial) that it cant be credited to my account as hdfc doesn’t have the provision to credit it to the correct account (Books may have got burnt) and an approval (from may be prime minister of mars) will be needed to do that. Then I got the pleasure to met a specific calling himself human in hdfc called mihir shroff, claiming to a collections manager (If he is a manager I am shahruk khan). The manager shroff took 38 days to tell me nothing can be done, manager shroff informed me that he is giving me a waiver of rs.6689 (This is the emi that I had paid and have proof for) as if he is done a great act of kindness on me and manager shroff then told me that the mistake was all mine because the loan account number on the cheque was incorrect (Strange it was filled by the collections guy, did come to the wrong place or are their more noman syeds, I have heard that there are 7 people with the same face in the world at one given time, may be he got confused) and manager shroff then asked me that I will have to pay rs.4000 (Approx) more, for the 38 days as interest when he was getting to trunk call the prime minister in mars (For the approval) manager shroff also has to audacity to tell me that he cant do anything and to call customer service (if hdfc has ever heard anything that sounds like it) resolve any further issue, when I told him that if a manager cant help what will an agent do, said he cant do anything, not a surprise, then when I asked if there a website address where I can complain he said no it doesn’t exits, cool which training outsource do you guys in hdfc use. Then I (Good customer wrong bank) agreed to pay anything just to get rid of hdfc and manager shroff (Anyways we in islam believe in charity. This time to hdfc) please continue the good work hdfc, get more customers to play with and earn more, anyways hdfc slogan says “personal loans brings you one step closer to your nightmares”.

    I am a HDFC customer. My customer ID is 8812399. On 3rd of March I visited the HDFC bank (AHURA center, MIDC Andheri East Branch).

    I asked for a FD of 2.5 lakh. I submitted the document personally. HDFC coordinator told me you would get receipt for this with in 7 days at ur home.

    After 10 or 15 days i got a call from HDFC bank that, they lost form so please come to bank again filled up the form.

    I again went personally to bank and submitted the form. This time they ensure me with in two days u will get receipt and updated in your net banking account.

    After days i didn't get response from bank then i raised complaint via phone banking. I didn't get response. I visit to the bank personally. Again they ensure me y will get it in one day.

    Now this process is continue from last 10 days. I raised many complaint via phone banking. Many times i visited bank personally. No response

    Last two complaint number was 102940207 and 134560124.

    Wish to place on record my total dissatisfaction towards HDFC housing loan.

    To begin with in the month of February I had made an inquiry on your phone banking number about home loan and asked for an executive to visit my residence to collect my required documents. Unfortunately for one month there was nobody who turned up. In the meantime I decided on my property and then once again on 16th March called the home banking number and requested for a person to come to my house. I was told that an executive would be coming on 17th March. I decide to stay at home for the entire day. But to my disappointment there was nobody who turned up. On 18th March (Sunday) and 19th March (Gudi Padwa) I felt it was unethical to call and bother the executives. On 20th March I once again call and speak to a telephone executive by the name of Survarna who assures me that the person will come by 1 pm. She did give me the person’s name and contact number (Prashant – 9869156343) At 2 pm I call Prashant on his cell and ask what has happened why has he not come. He answers back that he had not got any instructions about the same. My patience had reached its limit I once again called the department and was put on to Mr. Pritak Shah, who instead of listing to my query was telling one of his colleagues that “there is a irritating person on the other line” to which his colleagues replies to disconnect the phone, which he very promptly does. My tolerance level was at its core, I once again call and speak to a Senior Executive Ms. Anita, who was very courteous and after her assures I rest assured that the matter would be taken ahead. Mr. Pritak arrives at around 5 pm to my residence to collect the documents. After a small apology he collects my documents and let me know that HDFC will give me call in 4 days time to update me on the status. Today it is the 9th day but no reply.

    The reason why I had chosen HDFC for my loan was because I had heard that they are very prompt and quick with hassle free attitude, which I was looking forward. But unfortunately my experience was that not only are your staff slow, inefficient and rude but also lack common sense that on a telephonic conversation if you keep a person on hold the phone does pick up the entire conversation that you and your colleague will have. After two days that I had called HDFC I had called a nationalized bank and to my surprise they seem faster, more polite and must more discipline in their approach. We Indian think that multinationals works fast and so go with them, but my experience is just the opposite.

    On 29th March 2007 I was driven to pen down my complaint regarding your organization and its employees and till date the complaints do follow. Further to my below mentioned mail, Mr. Menon did call and apologized for the inconvenience but in spite of which blunders were created at every stage.

    The evening of the call of Mr. Menon I received a call from Mr. Pratik who told me that I should have not gone to the Senior Management for petty issue. (Once again I was shocked to see the check of the person). I received a call from HDFC saying that my loan is sanctioned and I will receive the letter, I received the letter only yesterday (9th April) 13 days after my loan was sanctioned.

    Further to which I receive a mail from Mr. Nitin who introduces himself as the Branch Manager of Parel division and ask me to call him on 10th April (today) in the morning when I give him a call he just barges about the details of my flat, not understanding what I am trying to say. He just keeps insisting that I should mention where I purchased the flat and what am I doing about the same. I tried to tell him that my house is still to be registered and once done I will personally come and submit the papers and the time given is 3 months, but with little consideration.

    Best publicity that a company can look at is “good will” through word of mouth, through my experience I feel sad that I have a very negative attitude with your institute and will take this experience to every body whom I come in contact with. You’ll being the top management I felt that you’ll should know about it and take keen steps to rectify the same, as I believe that there are many customers with similar experience as mine.

    This is Madhav, i am Salary A/C Holder for HDFC from 1.8 Yrs Onwards. 29th I Applied for Personal Loan on for 1 Lack. As per the Bank Executive Mohan (Ph: 09886821308) and manager Raghu (09341163146) Conversation purpose i applied for 1Lack with Rs 500Processing fee and 15.5% Interest. And they told I am going to get Confirmation mail from Mumbai. But I didn't get any confirmation Call from Mumbai and 99000 amount is Credited fro my Account on 30th.

    So Finally they Charged 1% Processing Fee(1000.00) and Still i don't know How much % They are Going Charge. I am strongly be leaving I am going to get that 500.00 Credit and Ensure 15.5% Interest.

overcharging after disbursement!

I recently got a shock 0f my life when the people i trusted for business turned their version, even now i see the discrepancies but they cannot justify the claim. I had taken a quote for a Car loan from HDFC representative who is a part of the showroom. (Dt 17 feb 2007)

I had been put a lot of pressure to log a file so that the interest rates for the loan shall be locked , hence i did it asap. On approval of the loan amount i received a sms of the loan account number and call stating that the loan account has been created. (23 feb 07)

Now comes the pressure for disbursement, I was not fully ready with the down payment hence told them to wait for some days, the reason i was being pressurized was to change in rate of interest and stamp duty & processing fee.

Disbursement instructions where given on 1 march and after 10 days when my car is ready with the registration number, the representatives call me up to say that i need to cough up with a additional Rs. 3400/- due to change in bank interest rate. Stamp duty n processing was promised to 1400 now the new rates are 2100.

When i contacted the bank, the rate of interest applied to me is 11.50% while the representative is demanding 14.75%.

Hope someone can help me with this kind of banking terminologies.

    i recently got a bad experience while dealing for a car loan with HDFC bank.HDFC bank is providing loan @ same interest as with SBI bank, but the installments on calculation showing a difference of Rs.10, 000, above of all the agent (authorised by HDFC bank) deal like a mafia DON to the customer when i asked about the difference they are charging to me.when i decided not to take loan from HDFC bank because of no communication as well because of misbehaviour the agent came to the car showroom to stop my delivery of the car like a MAFIA.

    I took an auto loan from HDFC [19163204] . After disbursement hdfc executive again came to me and said that there is a fine in the name of vehicle and he asked five thousand rupees from me. I gave him 5000 rupees ck [388755 hdfc bank].I gave the check in the name of HDFC bank . It got deducted from my account after that i came to know that the actual fine was only 900 and for that he collected 5000 ck from me . I am having complaint against these please enquire about these.

varying and in-convenient ecs dates

I have taken a personal loan from HDFC and filled an ECS mandate form after loan approval. But the bank representative who took all the forms and completed documents did not tell me about the ECS date.

In the month of repayment of first EMI, I suddenly received an SMS quoting that my first EMI through ECS was due on 7th day of that month. Please note that this date is not convenient for me as all my funds and salary transfer on 7th itself or by 10th day of the month.

Moreover, the ECS transaction is being held on different dates. Once it was held on 8th, once on 9th and other time on 7th day of the month. Due to this discrepancy I could not deposit money in my account and finally I was penalized by my bank (ICICI) with which I had my salary account.

When I contacted HDFC customer care, I was informed that this date could only be decided at the time of form filling when my loan was approved. So, the customer should have right to choose the appropriate date as per his/her convenience. But the banks are not giving that right/ information to the customers and making them fool like HDFC bank did to me.

    HDFC Bank is the worst bank in this world. They ask for so many documentation before loan approval. And they deduct money from your savings account without your approval for your credit card dues and do not even reverse it.

    For last 5 weeks I am getting calls to pay credit card dues of amounts ranging from 3000 to 40, 000 Rupees. I have repeated requested transaction details in email or on phone or in person through HDFC executive but these requests were not fulfilled. My email ID was taken but no statement was sent. It seems I am being targeted for harrasement. Today I got call from a lady called Khushi from +911143055936 around 12:58 pm who claimed an outstanding amount of 40, 000. She said her Head from Bangalore will join a conference call. Later another lady called saying sorry it was not 40, 000 but 4, 000. I again expect HDFC to not harras by multiple calls, provide facts and then claim amounts. The rudeness of this entire pattern of behaviour has shocked me and I intend to lodge complaints with RBI, Police or any other authority that will take swift and stringent action against HDFC bank.

    Dear all,
    Take my sincere advise. Do not open account with HDFC, you may consider closing the bank account instead. I hold an account with them at the Dwarka branch in New Delhi. believe me for the past 3-4 months I have tried in vain to get my address changed with the bank. I have posted two requests with all documentry proofs, followed it up with the grievence cell and the bank manager Mr Pathak on e mails and telephones, sent further documentry proofs on assurance that the job is already over. only to be told by the bank SORRY...START ALL OVER AGAIN.I still remember how the agent from the bank pleaded and begged to convince me open an account with HDFC.I am yet to come across a more insensitive organisation.

I hold a salary account at Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Bangalore, India. I am working with Unisys Global Services-India, Purva Premier, 135/1, Residency Road, Bangalore-560 025 since Sep 2006 and my account no. is "[protected]" .

I had applied for a personal loan for Rs. 1,00,000.00 (One Lakh Only) in mid January 2007.It took HDFC more than a month's time to process my application and even on 20th Febraury'07 the status still remains uncleared.The excuse they gave me was that I had not provided them with enough details on my residential address in Bangalore and due this they had not been able to process my application. If the banking professionals are not able to locate a house in a posh locality like Indira Nagar in Bangalore (the address was the same as given on the Rental Agreement) and still they could not locate the house even after my giving them proper guidance to the route to my house. It is certainly not my mistake.

The best part is even after they had visited my house after I had to personally escort their representative on 17th February 2007. Even after their physical verification of my residential address at No.3,Appaiah Reddy Palaya,Double Road, Near ESI Hospital, IndiraNagar, Banagalore-560038 I again get a called 19th Feb'07 from HDFC Bank wherein another executive calls up saying he is from HDFC and is in Indiranagar and would like to visit my house for verification. This made me lose my temper and I replied stating that I am no longer interested in any loan from their Bank and they should stop bothering me, since it was probably their 25th call to me asking for verification.

Its really sad to know that a Bank like HDFC verifies so many details on a loan application for Rs One Lakh that they even went for physical verification at my Permanent address where my parents stay (Delhi: 20/67, Lodhi Colony, New Delhi-110003) and made lot of inquiries about me that they even asked questions like " How many rooms are their in the house". Believe me legally also till my parents sign any documents no company can compel my parents to make payments on my behalf (so the exercise was useless I think) . HDFC considers UNISYS Global Services-India a good company and since I had asked a loan for just One Lakh ( keep in mind that my Gross Pay Package at Unisys is 4.75 Lakhs and the monthly take home salary is around 36,000/- .) I do nopt see any reason why it took them more than one month and even than they had not approved my loan.

The had literally harassed me making calls to me, asking me to fill their application forms again and again. Giving verification calls. They even went to the extent of asking for my MBA certificate. (I have no clue what does a bank has to do with an applicant's educational certificates which only your employer needs).They had my salary slips of Unisys, my experience certificates, my appointment letters of places/companies I had worked at. It was really a painful ordeal for me dealing with HDFC for a small amount that it has made me so irritated that I finally decided to bring this process to an end by asking the Bank that I am no longer interested in their loan ( On 19th Feb'07).

Believe me it was the most painful experience I ever had with any bank.

I would to draw your kind attention that I pradeep kumar R/0 I-79, Gali No. 10,Brahampuri, Near PRadhan Dairy New Delhi 110053 have got the HDFC credit by many requests made by the the officials of HDFC Credit Card. It was my first mistake. Now I am suffering a lot. I want to complaint regarding the amount debited from my account in respect of credit card payment. which not due to my part. Have they right to debit the amount from the my own saving account of HDFC You pleas suggest and I will show all the documents how they are debiting this amount.

Without my notice how they get debited the amount from account. This is my grievance and the amount they have debited is itself wrong because card is free and they debited the renewal fee amount of the card.

    HDFC Bank have "COMPLAINT BOOK issued by RBI". Remember its a complaint book not any online service
    Write your issue in it only HDFC Manager like "Ashwini Gupta" of Rani Bagh Branch may stop you in writting that do write in RBI Complaint Book

    I have received a balance transfer cheque from your side to my ICICI Bank Credit Card with number: 4477 4607 2684 0004 for Rs.10, 000/- received this July ’2007. The amount is not credited to my account and I’ve also lost the cheque advice sent by you with the cheque. Now I enquired the collection staff representing ICICI Bank and they have told that the amount is wrongly credited by HDFC Bank because the account number entered in the cheque is not yours and for clarification they are asking the proof of the balance transfer. Kindly do the needful at the earliest.

I want to put my views and opinions about HDFC bank and my horrible experiences that one may doesn't want to go through. I have a very pathetic experience with HDFC two wheeler loans and the issue still remains unresolved by them. In November 2004, I had taken a two wheeler loan from HDFC bank which made me a proud owner of my bike. I have been a loyal customer to them and have never defaulted in any of my payments and have never done it in my life. We all know how important our credit history is to us.

My loan account number is 879160 and my name is Mr. Kuchi Venkata Subbarao. I do not stay in India currently and so may not be able to take timely appropriate action against these crooks. I have my parents staying in India who have to go through the harassment made by the bankers. As we know that two wheeler loans are only given if we provide post dated cheques of the amount required to be given to the bank. All my installments have gone through smoothly except for one in the month of May 2005. The reason for the same not going through was due to signature mismatch.

To the best of my knowledge I have only one signature which I make wherever required. However, the very next month there was a phone call made to my place and asking to make an alternate payment with late fees. Since I was not there that time, my parents had to make cash payment to the person appointed by HDFC for collection. Nevertheless, after making payment a receipt was handed over to my parents saying that the payment was then cleared. Till today I was living in complete peace and the loan was closed and the last installment got debited in the month of October 2006.

All of a sudden today my parents receive a letter dated 18 November 2006, using the extreme harsh language and threaten to have the bike confiscated and auctioned to recover the amount due from me at my cost. After having a word with the customer service (harassment) executive, I realized that the letter was in respect of the installment not received by them in May 2005 and I should be really glad to the bank for their early response for which i have already made an alternate payment. Surprisingly the letter also used words like "instead of repeated reminders i failed to make the payment" where as there was no single correspondence sent to me at my address. I was promised a reply within 3 days by the executive but there is no reply till date even after 5 days.

Following is a list of my concerns and will be very grateful if you can take it forward to the person responsible for the blunder.
a) Why don’t they have complete details in their systems if the payment was collected by their own representative?
b) If it was to do with an installment of May 2005, were they sleeping till now?
c) If they had a system saying that the payment was not made for that month, why was there no correspondence sent or phone call made to me till now about this?
d) Why did the letter use words like "instead of repeated reminders" when there was no single letter sent or a phone call made to me.
e) While talking to the customer service rep. I was asked if you have the receipt??? I said I had the receipt but never expected you to come back so late asking me for it. Am I wrong if ask you to produce the receipt of your class tenth examination fees? Can I expect it to be preserved for me?

I do not expect my parents to go through any inconvenience just because i am not there to handle the situation especially when we have cleared all our dues and have no liabilities on us.

    I m having a savings bank salary account in your bank at your branch located at Ansals Fortune arcade K Block Sector 18 noida-201301 Uttar Pradesh my account no is : 0881050359887 so there are some complaints regarding to this account as I m totally harassed by this kind of poor service of your bank & I am totally fed up with your banking services & customer care help line due to the following reasons :----
    1.your bank closed my account without informing me either in writing or in verbal way
    2.There was some money which had been transferred from my provident fund office thru my previous employer(M W ZANDER S PTE LTD 205 OCEAN COMPLEX SECTOR 18 NOIDA) in this account on 08.01.07 thru cheque number 021388 amount Rs.12076 along with another cheque with cheque number 072211 amount Rs 4328 also on dated 08.01.07 & two more cheques were submitted on 10.01.07 whose cheque numbers were 023597 & 003740 & amounts were Rs 10377 & Rs 4080 simultaneously but till date I haven't received my payments so far & when I called your customer care helpline number at noida , they assured me to get my payments within 2-3 days they had given me the following call numbers :

    1. complaint number 124050303 on dated 08.02.07
    2. complaint number 134080282 on dated 14.02.07
    3. complaint number 145600228 on dated 27.02.07
    4. complaint number 110630473 on dated 02.03.07
    5. reference number against previous complaint: 142330378 on 15.03.07 the bank assured me each & every time to get my payments within 1-2 days but i didn't expect this poor kind of service from the bank I having a salary account at present also in your bank in Hazratganj branch at Lucknow Uttar Pradesh as I am working with Voltas Limited at present & here my salary savings bank account number is 0781140005067 so, I kindly request you to please transfer the above mentioned cheques in my present salary account at the earliest because I am facing a financial trouble due to this kind of harassment by the bank & please solve this problem on a very urgent basis.

    HDFC is so pathetic that any of the ATMs never have pay-in slips. I live in Noida and unfortunately my company's salary account is with this bank. I needed to deposit a simple cheque and for that I checked all the ATMs in Noida. Like a stone age, none of them had pay-in slip forms. I wonder how we would rate such service on a scale of 1 to 10, maybe -5 ! I dont expect the bank authorities to improve this as they have never done it before but if they do, they may save the remaining customer database that they have from switching to other competent banks or even rather government banks.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I hereby express my deep dissatisfaction I hold currently with HDFC as its account holder after a long compromise on the bank's attitude. But i should say the customer service departments attitude had been terribly disappointing and very irritating almost at every encounter I had with the bank.

    To start with I am an salary account holder of HDFC; not because I had a genuine natural interest in HDFC but because the organization that I work with had tie up with this new private bank. I had no option but to open a salary account with HDFC.And when I was opening the account there was enough pressure on me to get a credit card as well as it if life time free and I happened to sign it to avid the through follow ups to 'take the card'. And that’s when my problems started with the bank. (Details of the credit card - I do no feel comfortable revealing online but on your contact to my personal e-mail Id, I will be free to disclose the same)

    In btwn Aug - Sept 2006 - I opened the HDFC credit card.

    In Dec 2006 : I had a 'stolen & replacement' fraud on my credit card .

    When I called the customer care, there were of least help initially because they were hardly enquiring as to what has happened instead sounded suspicious with me- which was funny. They were however at least kind enough to tell me the shop names where the card was used. Along with my husband, I did the initial investigation (being worked with the fraud analysis dept) and with the help of the shopkeeper, we were able to identify who did it. WE CALLED THE BANK GUYS and asked them to deal it further 'their way' now that we know what happened. One executive by name 'Mahesh' has come to my home and I have told him very clearly that - ''PLEASE CLOSE MY CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT''. He said IT WILL BE DONE once I sign the fraud declaration, which the bank has sent to me couple of weeks later and I have signed it & sent them back. In 2 days of time. FROM THEN, I HEARD NOTHING FROM THE BANK FROM THEN. When the fraud happened in Dec 2006, I roughly remember the total due on the card was app. 33000.00 Rs 30000.00 was fraudulent which I have recovered from the fraudster with the help of the agent. However the rest app. 3000 (I hardly remember) was due from my side. As it was Christmas time I have requested the guys to come and collect the payment the next month i.e, January 2007. IT NEVER HAPPENED. There is absolutely no resp from the bank re my request from Jan to June 2007. When I get the statement I very clearly told them that I won't pay the extra charges for no fault of mine.

    In June 2007 - I had an assignment to go to LONDON for few months on business. Before going, I have called up the bank and spoke to 'swapna', I guess - and told her that I wont be available in India for quite some time so please send somebody to my home so that I can make the payment and even if i am gone I am leaving the money behind, please collect. The girl was happy and so was I. BUT IT NEVER HAPPENED. I retuned Dec 2007.

    January 2008, I get a call that the amount is due !? I call up the customer care and they apologised and asked me to make a 1000rs payment and the account will be closed. I did it the same month.

    This is May 2009 - almost 2 years of my request to 'CLOSE THE ACCOUNT AND SETTLE IT'. In spite the guys never turned up to collect the amount, they went on adding the charges for these 2 years and at last made up the amount now close to some 5000.00 rs, which is ridiculous.

    When I speak with the customer care (Shalini and Ms lata) - they are hardly aware of the facts because they don’t have a track of my record. They only told me that the card was 'PERMENANTLY SUSPENDED?!!! Which was a surprise to me. And then they divert me to 'Collections'. And the girl that spoke to me is the most 'un-empathetic', un-apologetic' and stubborn girl ever bluntly throwing the 'attitude' that she can do nothing and I have the make the total payment !? Repeating the same statement word to word like a feeling less machine with absolute no consideration to what a customer would go through!

    This is totally BAD

    FIRST : EVEN AFTER SIGNING THE DOC, THE BANK DIDN’T CLOSE MY ACCOUNT.
    SECOND: I DON’T HAVE THE ACCOUNT AVAILABLE ONLINE FOR ME TO MAKE ONLINE PAYMENTS
    THIRD: I WORK 6 DAYS A WEEK AND I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO MAKE PAYMENT BY WALKING INTO BANK's BRANCH.
    FOURTH: MANY REQUESTS ASKING THE GUYS TO COME TO MY HOUSE AND COLLECT THE TOTAL PAYMENT WAS NEVER CONSIDERED.

    I work with multi-national bank and my work involves a lot of travelling (internally and abroad). I work 6 days a week and have only Sunday as a holiday. I have told this matter to the bank guys a hundred times already, whenever I call them or whenever they call me but still the calls and chasing wont stop. Often, I had calls from the collection guys of the bank 'reminding' me to make the payment - enough embarrassing and annoying, when you were to be 'reminded' in the middle of a busy day.

    I request you most humbly please consider this and the many times of embarrassment the bank would have passed me through, not only by not acknowledging my requests but by continuously chasing for the amount which I am not liable for!?
