This week I visited guitar center in Bellingham, Washington state.
I have been a regular customer for years as I am a semi professional musician.
The managers of this store are disrespectful, and have no idea of decent customer service.
This week's experience took the cake.
Without any warning or notification, the manager started to demo a PA system. He played it at maximum volume for at least several minutes.
Even though I covered my ears with my hands, the PA system continued at maximum volume.
I have been in several guitar centers during Saturdays while teenagers were "shredding".
This recent episode was way louder than anything I've heard during those Saturday sessions.
My previous experience with the same general manger of guitar center, Bellingham WA, has been very negative.
About 2 months ago that particular manger was processing a return for me. While he was doing the documentation he answered an outside phone call.
He walked away from the desk and left me waiting 15 minutes without completing the paperwork.
I had to find another employee who then completed the necessary forms in order to complete the refund process.
Another disappointment:
They have an acoustic room.
The door to that room makes a loud squeaking noise very time it is opened. That is very irritating for anyone trying to audition an acoustic guitar.
The deal here is that they have not remedied that squeaking door for two years!
Practically all the acoustic guitars in this store have dead and old strings.
Overall this guitar center store is poorly run to say the least...
Recommendation: You would be better off driving another 25 miles to Hugo Helmer music in Burlington Washington...
