1. Cancelled a 6:30 am bus with less than 10 hours notice and no reason given, at 9pm the night before.
2. No greyhound station anymore, or even signage in Eugene, OR. Pickup in front of a 7-11 with a pretty sketchy crew hanging around outside.
3. Bus was 20 min late arriving.
4. My 10 year old daughter and I were assigned seats in different rows, despite my booking our tickets at the same time. Insanity. (Another passenger was willing to switch with me upon request).
5. Bus reeked of urine for the entire trip. 8 hours. Trash all over the floor. Floor slightly sticky.
6. Unscheduled 1 hour fuel stop! Who doesn’t schedule fueling? Apparently it was the previous driver’s fault.
7. As a result of the 1 hour 20 min delay, myself and several other passengers missed our connections in Seattle.
8. Seattle has a station and an attendant, yay! But the attendant is not empowered to DO anything except hand out the phone number to call to try to get ourselves rebooked on the next bus. Why can’t this guy rebook us in person?
I share my phone with another passenger who doesn’t have US calling service. We are both able to get onto the next bus (me through calling greyhound, him through speaking to the driver because flix never answers).
Another passenger has no phone because he just got out of prison. The next bus to his destination is 24 hours later. Greyhound offers him nothing, he is SOL and I assume will be sleeping in the station and schlepping somewhere to get his own food if he had any money for it. [censored]ty.
This company doesn’t care about its reputation or its passengers safety. What is wrong here? Is private equity driving the company into the ground for profit? WTF.
Flix bus to Vancouver was clean and arrived ahead of schedule. But greyhounds owns Flix now, so how long will that last? Why was greyhound allowed to acquire one of its few competitors?
Recommendation: Avoid wherever possible.
