subject: chevrolet traverse ltz – license plate # [protected] shield number 1gnlvhed0as152432
I, Ariel Atias, address this letter to General Motors LTD (Hereafter;”GM”) in the matter the above subject with hopes to get your prompt and professional response and service:
1. On November 2010, I’ve purchased the car detailed in the subject of this letter, directly from Universal Motors Israel LTD (Hereafter; “UMI”), the formal and sole importer of Chevrolet vehicles to Israel.
2. The car was purchased as First-Hand with 0 miles.
3. Till this day the car has made around 150, 000km (Equals to 93, 700 miles) and over the course of the years the car was always being examined, checked and repaired by a garage work-shops authorized by UMI.
4. Around 20 days ago the car suddenly stops working and after it has been examined in the garage, I came to realize that the source of the problem is related to the timing chain which affected the engine and put it out of use.
5. I’ve been told by UMI’s representative, that the problem I’ve encountered is a known manufactured issue, which got its recognition by GM who decided to extend the warranty for the vehicles of the specific brand detailed in the subject of my letter (Years [protected]) for 10 years or 120, 000 miles (Equals to around 193, 000km). When I asked how come my vehicle doesn’t entitle for this extended warranty, I’ve been told that by UMI that they don’t have an answer for that.
.
6. Ever since I’ve contacted UMI’s customer service department several times and tried to get some answers from them about the extended warranty I believed I’m entitled to, but to my surprise, I was answered again and again, that my vehicle is not entitle to have an extended warranty, and after endless conversations with numerous UMI’s representatives, the only answer I received, over and over again, was as follows: “This is the manufacture decision and I should accept it as it is”, even though there’s no logical explanation behind that. While I discussed with UMI, they always tended to emphasize that it is not their responsibility but GM’s.
7. Since I’ve been trusted client of GM for the past 20 years, I’m well aware to your undisputed reputation in regards to customer experience, level of service and high standard of professionalism, as well as the resources you invest to make your client satisfaction factor as higher as possible, I find it hard to believe that UMI’s level of service and client experience represents GM’s DNA. In addition, I’m sure GM’s aiming for a lifetime of more than 93, 700 miles for their vehicles, especially the ones who costs NIS350, 000 (Equal to USD100K).
Endless calls, numerous representatives, only one laconic answer with no intention of providing me any service but to push me a side and make me feel as If I to be blamed for this unfortunate issue, not to mention that all facts point out that there’s indeed a problem with this specific brand.
As the sole importer of GM in Israel, UMI should have acted in a professional manner, take responsibility for this issue, as GM did a while ago and provided a great solution for its trusted client base in the US. In addition, even if there’s a good reason why my vehicle wasn’t entitle to have an extended warranty, it’s clearly that the vehicle suffers from the same known issue as the models which were entitle to be a part of the solution provided by GM. I’ve always considered GM as a top of the line company, and its reputation goes without saying, however please note that I’ve been approached by people in the Israeli media to discuss my experience with UMI, which became major issue here, but for the time being I’m not willing to do so, since I’ve already advised I have full confidence that GM will assist with that matter, and I intend to stay a trusted client of your great organization for many years to come.
I must admit that I find it very disappointing that I need to send an email to GM offices in the US in order to have a solution for my personal issue, but since your local representative is not responsive and doesn’t meet with your company’s DNA, I felt I had to do it.
I will greatly appreciate your prompt attention to it with finding a vast solution which resolve this issue and help me continue using the vehicle to for our daily use. We have 4 little children and at the moment it makes our day-to-day lives pretty challenging, to say the least.
With great respects,
Ariel

chevrolet cruze ls 2012
The dealer could find no problem with our car despite the engine racing and going into "limp mode" with much reduced power. Dealer drove it 12 miles without being able to recreate the issue. My wife drives 80 miles a day and is scared the car will do it again leaving her stranded on the highway. Is this a known issue with this transmission? Forums suggest so.
2012 chevrolet equinox
Timing chain went out at 63000 miles. Also took valves out. So need new motor now. Had a prior issue with oil consumption that we did not know about. Talked to GM customer service on Tuesday 5-16-17 and read him the VIN number and he said there was no issues with this model. Saturday receive a letter in the mail, stating there could be a possibility of excessive oil consumption with this model. We did have this problem. Customer service told me to have test done and see. Pretty hard to do this, when the engine is already junk. Very unhelpful and not very knowledgeable!
tuscaloosa, al. dealership response and repair service
Delivered personal auto to body shop of Tuscaloosa, AL, GM dealership on March 29 with promise of repairs in "two to three weeks." May 24 will mark the end of the 8th week, or 56 days to do a 16-day job, and I have been promised the car "next week" for five straight weeks, including today through Travelers insurance agent. Same story week after week. A legitimate one-week delay was caused due to ordering a supplemental part, but that was paid for by insurance on April 19, and I have been promised the car "next week" each week since.
I have left seven telephone messages for staff and management at Barkley GM dealership over the eight weeks involved, and not one call has ever been returned. I have spoken to them by phone three times (after calling back the next day myself) and visited the dealership to check on the car on two occasions, always to be told it will be ready next week.
Horrible mistake to do business of any kind with this dealership!
2015 silverado
The dash in my 2015 truck has some spots that are turning white. It is pretty subtle but I want it fixed so it does not get worse. I have never wiped it with anything except damp micro cloth. The dealer said it would not be covered. I put in a service request with Chevrolet which took forever. Finally the dealer said that it would still not be covered because it could not lose color unless I had done something to it.
How do I get this fixed by Chevrolet?
2009 chevy silverado paint bubbling and rust showing on r/l side panel
4/6/2017. We noticed paint is bubbled and there is rust, one spot is through on both sides of outer side panel on my 2009 Silverado 1500. I have 39, 000 miles on this, I am the original owner. The truck is spotless except there is rust showing through on both sides. Dealership says it is not covered on warranty. Estimate to repair at local shop is $2627.53. We looked up "issues with 2009 Silverado's" and find a Styrofoam was placed over those wheelhouses for noise reduction and there have been issues with Northern States and salt not being able to be removed from up under the wheelwells and complaints of paint issues/rust. My truck is immaculate and I plan on keeping it until I pass it to my grandson, except for this issue on the wheelhouse panels. It looks unsightly and I would like GM to repair this for me without cost to me. My truck will have other issues with rust if this is not taken care of as soon as possible. Do I have recourse in getting this fixed because of the design/Styrofoam issue noted above? In all fairness, my wife owns a 2006 Trailblazer with no rust issues. Both cars live in the Toledo Ohio area and she purchased hers with 13, 000 miles. It now has over 130, 000 miles and no rust.

cracked dash on my 2011 chevy avalanche
Recently heard a rattle in the dash and upon looking under the dash cover I found a crack from the front to back of the dash board.
I have since discovered on the internet this is a major complaint Chevy SUV / truck model since 2007.
Customer relations informed the the bumper to bumer warrenty had expired and it was up to me to cover the repair. Although I had seen cases that GM had covered some repairs in the past.
My Alanache has the protected dash cover and had been garaged. It appears that care I had taken delayed the GM defect until the warranty had expired. Now I being unfairly treated in the $1000 repair cost.
I would like GM to own up the to the well publicized defect and replace my Dash.
Thank You
gm does not stand behind their products
Rotors were corroded at just 22k miles! The dealer did all they could and gave me repairs at employee discount price, but pads were at 50 percent still and rotors were corroded and had gauges in them. they said they were considered wear and tear and gm would not warranty them. I paid for the repair and called GM corporate to file a complaint. They took my info and called me back saying "they were sorry but it's a wear and tear item! I guess all rotors corrode at 22k miles! That's not even enough miles where you're supposed to have them checked! GM does not stand behind their product. A nearly $60k high end vehicle with low grade cheap parts!. So now for $340 Gm has lost a customer. SO SAD! I am lucky i can just trade it in and buy a new ford or toyota for cash, which makes me feel bad for others not as fortunate. REF #8-[protected]
exactly. it's the quality of parts that are very cheap and poor. cold this be because the money is in the servicing now? hmmmm
i bought my niece a toyota awd minivan. sorry which one escapes me, but it was about $45k and bought the warranty. toyota has stood behind this vehicle for things even i was amazed at! since GM doesn't i guess it's time to buy a toyota suv.
I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado with 40k on it . In September I had to replace a cracked discharge line to the tune of $483. GM told me sorry. This week it was back in the shop to repair a wheel speed sensor to the tune of $413!
Quality of parts is poor. Have owned chevys all my life. This will be my last. And they wonder why we buy foreign cars
exactly. the quality of parts is very cheap and poor. could this be because the money is now in the servicing? hmmm
Gm does not honor factory warranties.
I totally agree with you. I have had several problems with my 2004 GMC Envoy. Each time I have contacted GMC about the problem and part they told me they were sorry the part had to be replaced, but it wasn't anything to them. My late husband was Service Director for a Nissan Dealership and they always we're willing to help the customer with the cost of parts and labor on their product. This is my first experience with buying American and will be my last!
cracked catalytic converter housing
I have a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. It has been a great vehicle until recently. It developed an exhaust leak in the Catalytic Converter Housing. I contacted the Feldman Chevrolet by phone, in mid March to ask if the Catalytic Converter is still covered under warranty, since the vehicle has 76, 000 miles on it. I was told by the individual that I spoke with that he wasn't sure, but would find out and call me back. A couple of weeks went by with no return call, so I called the Okemos Michigan dealership, which resulted in pretty much the same situation. Today, May 12, 2017, I called Sawyer Chevrolet. The individual I spoke with told me the same thing. The difference was, he asked me to hold and he would find out. He also was the first individual to ask about the vehicle, the VIN, the mileage, my name etc. He was very professional and friendly. Unfortuantely, he said, your emissions warranty expired 655 miles ago. I find this very disturbing. Had I not been put off, the stalled off, the problem would have been corrected by now... under warranty.
I feel that this should still be covered simply because of the situation that I just described.
dealership versus gm employment-not a complaint but seeking help?
I have been trying to locate the person(s) responsible for the sales bonus programs at GM and the relationship with not only a specific dealership but a specific employee. For some reason the investors on a particular type of mortgage loan refuse to recognize sales rewards as income, creating an issue for me, a loan officer, in completing my work. I would appreciate a discussion with the appropriate human resource person if I could find him or her.
205 gmc yukon
Air conditioner stopped working and technicians stated it was a leaking hose that needed to be replaced. I paid for the repair on March 29, 2017, but not even two weeks later, the same issue occurred. At this point, the diagnosis was the condenser needed to be replaced. My vehicle has been at the dealership for three weeks and there is still no word on when the repairs will be made. I have been told that the part is in high demand with no manufacturer. I have been given three different loaner vehicles that do not compare to the Yukon. This has caused major disfunction as I have a sports family who travels a lot. I am requesting a full refund and a part recall. I can not go without my vehicle for much longer. I need it repaired and returned to me.
2015 chevy tahoe
Purchase date April 2015 and Air goes out June of 2016. I was told by the dealership that there was nothing they could do. It was discovered my compressor and condenser were out. This malfunction is not due to driver wear and tear but instead faulty parts. I finally save enough money to get it fixed while making a generous car payment each month, and take it to my local dealership on May 9th 2017. On May 10th I receive a call from the service manager and was told the part is on back order due to heavy demand. He informed me it will be 4-6 weeks before the part will be in. He went on to tell me this is huge problem General Motors is dealing with. So much so a special assembly line has been created to help produce this part at a rapid rate to satisfy the huge demand. Every dealership I contacted has giving me the same answer. This is totally unfair to me and I should not have to go an entire summer with no air because General motors refuses to recall this product. I did not qualify for a rental car because my mileage was too high. My wife and I both commute to work and have no idea what we are going to do for 4-6 weeks. Internet bloc's are full of complaint about this problem with your Chevy Tahoe's and GMC Yukon's. I
recall notice
My 2008 Silverado 1500LTZ recently had the Fuel Control Module fail and I'm aware of recall 14515B but my VIN for some reason was not covered. The recall specifies [protected] vehicles and mine falls right in the middle of that. I had pointed that out to the service tech and he explained my pick up wasn't covered. I think it should be and I'm seeking reimbursement for the service at Heinrich Chevy dealer in Lockport NY. Customer #74468, invoice #377298 for $732.30.
chevrolet malibu 2016
I purchased this car in April 2016 since then I have had continuous problems with this car. Had it for two days engine light came on something about the pedals in the car. The weather stripping was separated from the car had to bring the car in more than once for that. Then I had an issue with the air conditioner. Then I had an issue with it raining in my car from the high mount light. Now I am in the dealership again with the engine light on and the car struggles to go past 20 miles an hour. I need to know what can be done about this this is taking time away from work because I am always at the dealership I believe this car was defective and the quality assurance department did not do an efficient job of checking this car before sending to the dealership
a service problem that even mechanics cannot resolve.
I own a 2008 Pontiac Montana SV6. Just after I purchased the vehicle, I experienced difficulty starting the engine (turn the ignition key with no results). I had it in at Mills/Pontiac, Oshawa and they informed me that it was 'a loose connection'. The vehicle served me well until recently when I started to experience the "same" problem. I have had two mechanics look into my problem with no results. If I wait 30 - 90 minutes, the vehicle decides that it will run and everything 'seems' okay but today I experienced the same difficulty. It occurred last Wednesday, May 3rd., 2017 on three different occasions and it is upsetting me to no end. I would appreciate someone contacting me to help resolve this dilemma with information as how to resolve my problem. Thank you for taking the time to read this email.
isuzu 2015 kb 250 dteq ectended cab only 50 000 km, clutch problem
Bought this vehicle on 45 000 km, with full service record. Previous owner used it, for long distance travelling, as I'm a REP, I'm using the vehicle on the same condition.
All of a sudden there is an shatter on the clutch..I phone Delta Frankfort Immediately, only to hear, that I'm reliable for any fixing needed on the clutch. After they said they will find out from GMSA, for a so called "good will" option, that they explained to me, its for vehicles with low km on.
Please come back to me, ASAP, as I'm definitely not gonna leave this case.

2011 chevy cruze
I own a 2011 chevy cruze with 54000 miles on it and the ignition switch went bad on car. Causing car to completely shutdown while my daughter was driving it. She had no control of car due to steering wheel locking up causing her to almost loose her life! In all the years of owning a car I have never seen anything so unsafe! I believe there should be a recall on ignition switch and I feel general motors could at least send a new ignition switch that works properly to insure me that this will never happen again!
2015 chevrolet malibu
I bought this Malibu new in September of 2015. In November of 2016 it took me 5 times before the motor would turn over. This happened several times over the next 3 months. I had it into the dealership--Bergstrom Chevrolet of Madison on Applegate Road in Madison a couple times and they could never find anything wrong. The last time I took it in on April 27th I was told I needed a new battery. I've never heard of a car 19 months old needing a new battery.
It cost me $285.00 for a new battery & diagnostic test. I missed a day of work on that day & another day when I brought it in to be checked a few hours that day (when they found nothing wrong with it). Never was a loaner car available.
I also had bought the extended warranty that I paid approx. $3, 000 for. The warranty didn't cover this issue.
I would like to be reimbursed for my time & the cost of the battery & test.
