Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Mulfunctioning canon printer

Good Day. I bought Canon printer at Game Mahikeng November 2023 and the printer has been giving us problems just 3 months of purchase. I took returned it to the store twice but I couldn't be assisted with replacement. I was told they were going to get back to me, since 02 June to date waiting. I am very disappointed. The printer was for my office, we're now struggling because of game Mafikeng. Please assist.

Recommendation: Never will I recommend anyone to game!

It's frustrating when a new purchase like your Canon printer starts giving problems so soon, and even worse when Game Stores in Mahikeng fails to assist after multiple attempts to resolve the issue. Waiting since June without any follow-up is completely unacceptable, especially when it's affecting your office operations.

You’ve been more than patient, and it’s time they address this properly. You should escalate the matter to Game Stores' head office or customer service department, referencing your prior visits and the lack of action. If that doesn’t yield results, you may consider involving consumer protection agencies in South Africa to push for a replacement or refund.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Terrible service delivered and communication

If i could give zero stars I would, the one star is even too good. Ordered a new fridge more than a month ago at full price and they sent me a damaged display. I asked for a replacement or discount they took ages to decide on a resolution and eventually collected the fridge after me waiting weeks. Still haven’t delivered a new fridge. Don’t respond to emails. They act MIA like a fricken scammer. Is this a big store or a joke. Don't ever buy anything from them literally. They don’t deserve our support or money. Terrible franchise. My worst purchase experience ever. I keep emailing them to say how much money its costing me to eat out everyday and they couldn’t care less to resolve the dispute fast.

Recommendation: Do not buy anything from them, i would literally pay more and buy at a store that values their customers unlike this store.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za HP laptop

I am so disappointed in the service i received from game wonderpark. I bought an HP laptop 4 days ago and it was ok on the 1st day. The following day the laptop showed a white line in the center which later disappeared. I thought maybe it was a wrong setting. Yesterday i used the laptop around 4 and it worked perfectly fine. An hour later when i got home the entire screen looked damaged. The laptop did not fall or hit anything and i was the only one who had it. I have since requested assistance from Game Wonderpark and the sales people including the manager refused to help saying its a physical damage and warranty doesn't cover it. I tried to explain its not physical damage however they were not willing to listen or understand.

The sales lady said unfortunately its a loss and a big one and there is nothing we can do.

Please advise i paid R5000 less than a week ago and its all down the drain and no one is willing to help at that store. Again i am saying there was no physical damage to that laptop.

I am beyond frustrated

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Game online services are a scam

I had purchased a laptop Game online store on the 21st of March 2025 and when I checked the status the following morning it had said that process had failed. I sent them a WhatsApp text and was told that my issue will be solved in 24-48 hours. I then received a call after I've sent them an email on the 25th of March 2025 and was told that my money cannot be reversed as I am a Capitec account owner and it is impossible for them reverse with Capitec account holders, so I must send them my account details and then they will send me back my refund. I sent my account details on 28th of March 2025. Now today on the 5th of April 2025, they telling me send them my bank statement so that they can see if I've really made payment! What confuses me is that they have everything on the system, where does my bank statement fit in?! This store frustrates me so much and it seems like they are giving me a run around to not send me back my money!

Desired outcome: Please refund me my money back because I did not receive the product!!!

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Payment pay just now

I am so frustrated with the service I received at Game Stores Trade Route Mall on Sunday, 1 December 2024.

I went to game to purchase some items for my baby and home using Pay Just Now. At the till, we scanned everything and processed the payment and it went through. When the training guy at the till entered my reference number, it kept giving him an error message. I had to wait there for the team to try and figure out what went wrong, they were contacting Pay Just Now as well and there was no response. After about an hour and a half, the manager who was assisting me said I should leave cause their "admin person does not work on Sundays to help with the refund, and they cannot allow me to leave with the items either, even after they clearly saw the money went out of my app. A total of R453.09 was deducted but I still left with no items. I had to choose a few things from my trolley to pay for AGAIN as my child had no baby milk at home. They said they would call me the following day on Monday and no one has called me. I sent an email to Pay Just Now, they said the STORE has to be the ones that ask for the refund as they are not sure if I left with the items or not, I sent an email to Game and they said I should contact Pay Just Now. I have no money left, this was my last money. Can somebody refund me my money!

Desired outcome: A refund of my money back to my bank account, please.

Go to the shop with evidence of payment and ask the manager to solve it right away. Don’t leave without ensuring that someone calls their area office while you are there. If however the situation remains tardy, visit the office of the Ombudsman for Consumer Goods and Services and file a complaint with all the proofs of payment and communication with the firm.

I made a purchased a SOUND-BAR VOLKANO X MAGAN at Southgate Game store on the 5th of Nov 2024, which was on special for R1799, however on the 4th of Nov 2024 I went to the store and a Sales assistant by the name of Bhekani Kunene was assisting us,

I wanted to buy it immediately however an accessory (REMOTE) was missing, and he promise to look for it as it was nearly closing time, I then went the following day which was on the 5th of Nov 2024 and bought the sound bar as it was the last one in the store, he then searched for the remote unfortunately it was not anywhere to be found, but he promise to make a plan to find it or source one from the supplier.

Since then, Bhekani has been communicating, giving feedback as at one stage he communicated with one of the brand consultants (volkano) by the name Pogiso and Thabo, he told me that they are waiting for quotation from VOLKANO, till I went back to them and related the issue with the Store Manager Zakhele, and he then communicated with Volkano consultants Thabo and Pogiso as they told him that they are still waiting for quotation, He (Zakhele) then promise to get back to me as soon as they get the quotation but till to date he has never contacted me.

On the 17th of November 2024 I received a what's up text from Bhekani Kunene, telling me that VOLKANO are saying they don't keep the remote anymore as it's been discontinued.

When I bought the sound-bar on display demarcation was stated LAST CHANCE nothing specific was on the price stand saying NO REMOTE OR MISSING ACCESSORIES BUY IT AS IT IS,

I need that remote and I was given hope to say it's possible for me to get one, as they were willing to find one.

Urgently attended to this matter and revert back to me, other than that this matter will be escalated to CONSUMER PROTECTION OMBUDSMAN.

I bought a 19 kg sumsang top loader washing machine at Game on the 24th of August 2024 at 15:03, the same product was on promotion at R8 999 at Makro, the manager only authorized for price match and didn't do the price beat of 10%. The machine was R9 999 at game and I paid R8 999. The manager shouldn't wait for customer to remind her on how to do her job.

Desired outcome: I would like to get refunded the 10%price beat. R899

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Bad client service

Mt grandmother purchased a heater on the 6th of June,it broke and was returned to the store on the 22nd of June. Game Jabulani mall branch (Steven) said it will be fixed and will be returned after 21 days. Today 9/8/2024 I returned to the store to enquire about this as I had not gotten any communication from them, only to find out that it was not even booked for repairs. We spent over 2 hours in the store waiting for them to find out what happened to the heater, after that waiting period a lady (Dzivhu Matshili) said we should come back on Monday again, that's when I got very irate because it's been over a month, no communication whatever. Dzivhu Matshili was not of any assistance, she displayed lack of empathy and respect by literally calling me a "child and said I am behaving like one", she further stated that " you're used to being a bully and controlling where you come from, don't think because you're a customer we have a policy of a customer is always right you think it will work here". She was utterly disrespectful and very sarcastic when I asked for her name. I find this behavior very distasteful and disappointing more especially because they failed to do their job in the first place. The customer service and etiquette needs serious improvement and people (Dzivhu Matshili) need to be trained and skilled in terms of dealing with irate customers.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Game at [protected]@Carnival service and delivery service

We bought a Defy gass stofe from Game on Saturday 21 July 2024. It was delivered on Tuesday 24 July. As I opened it the top was bended. We went back to the Game store on Thursday 26 July where they said they'll replace it. On Sunday 28 July they've collected the stofe and till today, 30 July 18:25, we are still struggling to get our stofe from them. The stofe must come from head office as they don't have stock in store. Monday the delivery would take place between 12h00 and 18h00... nothing. Today, Tuesday the same thing and yet we still haven't received anything.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Game Jubilee mall Hammanskraal

I was at game Jubilee mall in Hammanskraal. On the 23/07/24. The staff ignore customers. One must walk around looking for assistance. The security guards at the door were very rude when I addressed my dissatisfaction about me leaving my bag at the parcel counter when i use it to carry my phone and wallet. One of the security guards when as far as telling me that if I'm not happy I must look for other shops to go to. It is not the first time Im receiving bad service from this store

It's clear you've had a terrible experience. Being ignored by staff and treated rudely by security is no way to treat a customer. You need to take this up with the store's management directly and make sure they understand your frustration. Demand to speak with someone in charge and make it clear that this kind of service is not acceptable. Don’t let them brush you off — stand your ground and insist they address your concerns. You deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy. Stay strong and make sure they know you're serious about getting the service you deserve.

Today Saturday the 30th March 2024. I Mrs Makhathini BV Game store regular customer, I bought lots of items at Game store Phuthaditjhaba, I took a bigger trolley because I bought lots of items. On my way out trolley attendant requested to accompany me, I told him that I don't have money to pay him, because I know they demand money if they accompany customers. On my way out another drunk trolley attendant followed me and grabbed the trolley on my hand and said, he must bring back the trolley to the store. I told him that I need to buy other stuff at Spar before I can to to the car. He shouted and denied me to push my trolley and said I must look for another trolley, he's responsible for game trolleys. With the help of security guard at the mall I decided to go back to the shop to report the matt9. At Game store Phuthaditjhaba they told me that trolley manager is not on duty, I must come back on Tuesday when he's back to work.

Desired outcome: The trolley guy at Phuthaditjhaba should be expelled due to his unapologetic behavior and disregard for customers using game store trolleys, which could lead to safety concerns and spread to other customers.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Product

Extremely pathetic service and I am pass being frustrated already.

I purchased a stove in November 2023.

In January 2024 the oven wouldn't work, I logged a ticket with them on 31st January and provided them with the necessary information.

A week later there was no response I followed up with an email and no response so I called them.

And according to them the 3rd party supplier was trying to contact me which was a lie, they eventually contacted me and the technician came out the following Wednesday and advised that the switch was faulty.

I waited the rest of the week and again no response.

I followed up again via email and no response once again I called them and they couldn't provide me with feedback.

I called multiple times and started getting very frustrated and told them I no longer wanted the unit because it's 3 weeks later. I also expressed that it's Ramadan and we need the oven, but there was no sense of urgency at ALL.

A consultant by the name of Zintle called me and said that because the issue wasn't resolved within 21days they needed to refund me.

I then emailed asking what the process would be with collection of the unit and the money that was paid.

Again there was no response and I kept calling asking to speak to a manager which to my surprise was never available 🙄.

They called me on 10th March a Sunday whilst I was in class and I waited to see whether they would contact me again, and it was no surprise that they didn't.

I called the Tuesday to be told a collection has been booked for the stove, when I asked when they collection was booked for they couldnt tell.

I left it and called the Thursday and Friday, I then asked when i would be receiving the replacement unit and the consultant said there were no notes regarding a replacement🤯. I was then told that the collection was booked for Saturday 16th March. I also received the collection information via email. I mailed them again the evening of the 15th wanting to know how it's possible that there has been no reference to a replacement unit even though it was discussed with multiple consultants.

When the courier arrived at my house none of my details or cell phone number was on the collection what a surprise 😮.

I followed up after the collection to find out what's happening with the replacement unit and was told that the 3rd party first needs to pass a credit note and it can take up 7-14 days for them to receive it.

I response again and said that this is pathetic and wanted a manager to contact me immediately and that I would take legal action and I haven't heard anything!

Today's the 20th March.

Claimed loss: All my airtime and personal time wasted due to their incompetence!

Desired outcome: I no longer want a replacement, I want all money credited back to card! Including the payments that have been deducted. I would also like to be compensated for my personal time and airtime wasted on this issue.

Absolutely pathetic service from game. They have double standards and going against their word policy.

I have done a price beat of a item in the 29 Feb 2024 and till today I'm getting no feedback. I've been calling and chatting numerous of times. They are refusing to honor the price beat...

I've provided them with all the information and everything matches from. The competitor. But after 3 days they say my claim has been approved but they are not providing me with the coupon to purchase the item, as per their terms and conditions and rules on the website. They are breaching that.. They say a turn around time of 48 hours. But it's now been 5 days.. Their customer service agents are absolutely dreadful and no help at all... The competitor price of the item was r2000 and at game it's r4000.. Everything is up to date but they are stalling on giving me my price beat

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Purchased two phones from online store, paid for but not delivered since nov 2023

We purchased two phones from the Game online platform on the 13th of November 2023. money was debited from the account and statement of account reflecting the debit was sent to Game. They are now completely ignoring our emails and we still have not received our two phones. Last time we received communication was on the 10th of January from a Customer retention advisor giving us two options to choose from, a refund or the manager to sign off on our delivery, we chose option two as we do not want a refund, The Manager was supposed to be back on the 15th to approve, I received no feedback from Game and I sent them several follow up emails to which no one responded. They only responded on HelloPeter stating that the Complaints Team had tried to reach me telephonically and via email but I have not received any mail or any missed calls from them - I have checked and I responded back and informed them. I am at my wits end and now seeking legal counsel to resolve this matter simply because Game refuses to cooperate. They happily debited our money but they are not delivering our phones, Its been about two months of this back and forth. this is the worst service I have ever encountered. I need this resolved soon please.

Desired outcome: We want a response from Game, as well as an apology, and for our phones to be delivered to us, also compensation for the unnecessary stress and inconvenience caused.

THE COMPANY DID NOTHING WRONG, THE FAULT WAS ON OUR SIDE, I HAVE SINCE APOLOGISED TO THEM HOPING THEY CAN FORGIVE ME FOR NOT DOING ADEQUATE CHECKING ON MY SIDE. GAME DOES NOT OWE US ANY PHONES, IT WAS A MIX UP ON OUR SIDE. THE TEAM THAT WAS TRYING TO ASSIST US ESPECIALLY RUCHE EXHIBITED MUCH PATIENCE AND TOELERANCE ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THEY WERE NEVER IN THE WRONG. I AM SORRY.

I ordered a parcel 10days ago and I haven't received it, they keep on postponing about delivery. This company is not ready for online delivery and it's costing us, was suppose to be done with what I needed to do and am not sure if there's quality now on your stuff. My order number [protected]. To whom it may concern I bought a 20in eclipse bicycle that didn't have all the parts mind u I bought this bicycle @ game jhb city 89 helen joseph st an I was told to look for assistance where the bicycles have been displayed so I went a sales assistant his name jojo short male dark I told him my daughter bicycle has missing parts he told me I should go home an come back with the bicycle coz what i'm showing him is false picture I mean the only thing that made to buy this bike is that i'm close to work so f*k y'll are disappointeing on of that there is a big tool that doesn't work but I was told it come with the bike if it doesn't work I should buy another one what's the whole point of buying that bike at game store an one thing to jojo the sales assistant we have problems leave ur problems at the door an try to be postive an be nice u pissed me off as a single mum trying to buy something for my daughter an u telling nonsense jojo pull up u socks leave ur attitude at the door

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Failure to resolve query 1949374

It has been close to two montbs that I have reported a faulty Hi Sense fridge that I purchased online. My matter is being handled by your complains department who have since logged a credit return (Credit note-[protected]@[protected]) and I have been waiting for a replacement fridge as Hi Sense had authorized for the fridge to replaced. I have had to endure food getting spoiled and this had had huge financial implications for me as am constantly throwing away spoiled food. I have made nimerous attempts to directly engage Ms Ronell September via phone as she is one dealing with this matter but she is never available to take calls and the only means of commujicating with her is via email which she takes days to respond to.

Desired outcome: Replacement fridge be delivered before end of the week as the matter has dragged for far too long.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za 1.7 litre led kettle and game store in Jabulani Mall service.

I am writing this complaint on behalf of my sister, Constance Ndwandwe. She purchased the above mentioned kettle before she fell sick. Unfortunately the kettle malfunctioned and she needed to exchange it at Game in Jabulani mall but originally bought from Southgate mall. She came to Jabulani mall (Game) to exchange but was rudely told she wont be allowed to exchange as the kettle was bought in Southgate. I do not understand how this is possible as they are the same sore and the product is guaranteed for a year. What justifies this and how do you tell a sick woman that she must go back and exchange where she originally bought the product. She asked for a reason and was bluntly told this was due to the looting that happened in July. This is uphauling and the service in Jabulani mall (Game) is shameful.

Desired outcome: Please contact her ([protected]) and get an apology and be allowed to exchange the kettle wherever she wants as it is within the guarantee.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za 8kg hth chlorine

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope this message finds you well.

I tried buying 5x 8kg hth chlorine at you Welkom Store yesterday afternoon.

However, I am writing to bring to your attention an issue regarding the price displayed on the shelf and perplexed to note that your staff was not very helpful at all.

What is displayed on your shelf are (two items – please see picture) of three rows of 8kg hth and the bottom two shelfs containing 2x rows of 15kg hth chlorine. Now, your advert, stated in bold from R399 is very deceiving. When trying to pay at the till, the item was listed as R449. Finally, when the store manager got there, her response was that “there were other pool items there and they are finished now”. She could not clarify what those items was exactly. My concern is that I wanted to buy 5x 8kg hth and a few other items and for any other person or customer who would want to buy one of those two items would also be of the opinion that the 8kg is sold for R399 because of the advert. I bought the same items there just over a week ago and the same tags were on display.

Therefore, I demand that you rectify this and provide me those 5x buckets of 8kg hth chlorine for R399.

I value your commitment to customer satisfaction and appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue promptly.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Television

Deeply Disappointed in the manager and Game stores. Will never purchase there again. We had bought a TV Game Stores. We are very concerned about the TV. We had it for a few minutes at home and when we took the TV out and put it on it had a mark on the LCD. When we went to the Game Store in KWT the mark had spread. The screen was not cracked. The LCD was damaged. When I purchased the TV the full screen was not showed to me. The polystyrene that is shown on the picture was not taken off in store. Only when I switched the TV on I took the polystyrene off and saw that the LCD was damaged. That tells me that they were not honest by showing me the full screen. When we also got home we had a box that was closed and untouched which also means that the box that we checked at the store was not the same box. We are unhappy about the dishonesty of this whole situation. We would not drop or break a tv we just bought. We stay less that 100m from the store. The manager at the King branch asked us why did we not have the TV delivered, but nobody gave us that option. She said that head office told me that they have authorised the refund but that is also a lie. We never said so. We asked for a refund from her in store. So we don't know where she got that information from.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Poor customer service & sickening behavior

Please note that I returned my WIFI router to Game Clearwater, the router works but is not performing as well as the new Huawei I bought, The first time I had to walk to the mall and wanted to return the router for a refund, I had to wait quite long to get any help. The return policy on the back of the slip does not indicate that the product must be returned within a certain period of time for a refund. It only indicates that should you return the product in it's original condition and box with a till slip you will be refunded, if you do not have the slip you will be refunded the amount for what the product is selling for at the time you return the product. I got home, phoned Game customer care, only then I was informed that the router must be sent for an assessment to make sure it is still working. I then walked back for a second time to book in the router for assessment. Again I received bad service and bad attitude from more than one staff member. I received an SMS to inform me that my router is back at the store from repairs and that I can collect the router. I then walked back to the mall for the third time, no one at the returns counter, had to call someone to come and help me. Every single time I've been to the store more than one staff member approached me and rudely interrupted while someone was already assisting me. The last time I went to the store, I had to push a staff member away from me as he got up all into my face. Another person then grabbed and assaulted me, I quote saying "don't touch my manager like that" and through me out the store. This person did not even have Game uniform on, the next moment I am surrounded by +/- 20 staff members & customers, one of them had a blue baseball bat in his hand and the other busy taking of his belt. I had no other choice than to protect myself in self defense. Center Management's security calmed the situation down and asked the crowd to move away. I was detained and locked up by Honeydew police officers as the store manager laid charges against me. I am not allowed back in the store and Game Clearwater still has my router. I demand a refund as I am not allowed to enter the store again and will never ever support any Game store ever again. I want my refund urgently please.

Desired outcome: I want my refund, non negotiable.

I am so upset I don't think of buying items from game. I bought microware Samsung for my wife in May, two months down the line. it was not working, spend my money and time return back. door magnet adjustment, again five months stop working. again, send it back this time went I ask about it. repair center never received it. I spend a holiday without microware white I had visitors.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za Printer repair takes 11 weeks and still not returned

Dear Sir/Madam

I am more than fed-up.

I handed in the Epson Eco Tank L3150 printer more than 11 weeks ago on 15 Aug 2023. (see Screenshot attached above)

The screenshot also confirms that the printer was previously booked in for repairs at Game Menlyn on 03 Apr 2023 for exactly the same problem!

I am going on a ship cruise 09 Nov 2023 to Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

I must have printed copies of numerous documents such as:

• proof of payment to the Cruise Line Company

• 6 prepaid shore excursion/s in each country

• prepaid access to WiFi onboard Singapore Airlines

• printed copies of my prepaid airline tickets

• e-visa for Vietnam

• copy of my passport

• proof of my Singapore Airline Frequent Flyer Membership

• prepaid hotel reservations in two countries

• prepaid transfer from Singapore Airport to Bencoolen Hotel

• prepaid transfer from Bencoolen Hotel to the Singapore Seaport/Pier/Cruise Terminal

• prepaid transfer from Bangkok Harbour/Pier/Cruise Terminal to Maitria Hotel in Bangkok

• prepaid transfer from Maitria Hotel to Bangkok Airport

If I do not get my printer by Friday 03 Nov 2023, I shall lay a formal complaint and post a very negative review of Game Menlyn’s customer support and post-purchase service on SOCIAL MEDIA

I shall also mention the name of Game Menlyn’s manager and indicate the exact dates and times I have spoken to Mr Eric Nobela, who was unable to resolve my complaint.

This is not only a threat and a warning, but you are hereby put on Official Notice (Officialis Notitiam) legally!

Hope to receive my printer back in good working order or have it replaced before Friday 03 Nov 2023.
