I visited the Family Dollar at 10696 Lem Turner Road, Jacksonville, FL on Friday morning, June 18th to purchase items in the sale paper. When I got up to the counter, Jeanie (the cashier) was helping a customer and the customer needed change from a large bill she used to purchase her items, Jeanie seemed upset for having to go into the safe to get the change. She gave the customer her change, but shoved the money in her hand, but the customer smiled and said thank you. When I reached the register, there were items that I thought were on sale, but she informed me that they were not so I asked her to hold on while I return those items to the shelf and get something else. When I came back, she had bagged up some of my items and one of the items, I wanted to make sure it was on sale, but she informed me that it wasn't and all the items that I came into the store to purchase were all sold out the day before, so I returned the item that was not on sale back to the shelf to get something else, so Jeanie stated that she would cancel my transaction until I'm ready. When I returned to the register, she was agitated (maybe because she was on her phone and I was disturbing her). She begin to shove my items in bags and when she was finished, I handed her a coupon for $5 off of $25, which she scanned the coupon. My total purchase before she scanned the coupon was $29.83 but when I received my receipt, the coupon did not scan so I told her that the coupon did not scan and I assumed she would have fixed it so I could use the coupon but instead she stands there and looks at me and says "so what do you want me to do refund the entire transaction?" Because there were customers behind me, I did not want to hold up the line and make Jeanie more agitated than she already was. Jeanie was rude from the beginning starting with the customer in front of me and then I got her rudeness when I was checking out. A good associate would have fixed the problem, not ask me what I wanted her to do with an attitude. If she didn't want to come to work, she should have stayed home and if she doesn't like her job, then go get a new one. Customer Service is a big deal to me because I want to be treated the same way I treat someone else... with respect and Jeanie lacks respect and courtesy and knows nothing about customer service. I will never shop at that location again if she is working there. She needs training on how to treat customers. I would like to have used my $5 coupon because that was my sole purpose for shopping trip to Family Dollar.
Thank you

Desired outcome: I would like my $5 that I didn't get and Jeanie needs customer service training.
