Less than one year after carpet installation I have waves in my carpet large enough to surf on. Unfortunately for me, I waited too long after noticing the poor stretching job done on the installation and was 30 days past the one-year warranty. I have experience with carpet installation, and I wish I would have been here the day they arrived instead of leaving my wife to head up this clown show. This epic failure was due to inadequate power stretching and for no other reason. Seven thousand dollars spent and they wanted to charge another 700 dollars to re-stretch two rooms and an extra 25 per room if they had to move furniture. Talking to customer service they tried to blame everyone and everything else for the carpet waves, unbelievable. First, I was asked if I had shampooed the carpets because they supposedly recommend that within 12 months of installation. Really? is this supposed to shrink the carpet enough to make up for their inadequate stretching job? I asked the guy why then didn't the cheap carpet installed originally in my home four years ago ever wave up? Simple answer here, because it was properly installed. He then questioned me about moving heavy furniture around in the rooms...Nope, can't help you with that either pard. How about stepping up to the plate and fixing a problem that your hired contractor created. This company is only as good as the contractors they hire, and the folks that installed it in Albany Oregon area are inept at what they do. My first mistake was letting my wife line up Empire for a consultation. You might save a few bucks, but in the future, I will never go with anyone except a local business where you at least have the possibility of recourse if something goes wrong. One last thing, there is no way to go beyond a customer service number as the higher ups in this company make it impossible to contact them to try and get things resolved.
Recommendation: Do not use Empire Today, strictly use local flooring and installation companies.
