I would rate this company a zero star if there is an option. Before coming to Los Angeles to attend a family wedding, I was searching Expedia for rental car deal and Economy jumped to the top of my search for competitive pricing. They beat out all the big chain rentals so I reserved a car and they mentioned that they have shuttle bus pick up from LAX. When I arrived, I went to the rental car pick up stand and I saw all the big rental chain shuttle buses picking customers and left. I called the help line and they said I have to stand by pink Economy Airport shuttle buses. Basically these guys were piggy backing off airport parking shuttle bus. When I got to the airport parking lot, I would have to wait for their shuttle bus to take me to their rental car lot, which was like a dump. Anyway, all was going well until they ask me if I want to buy their insurance. I said no, I will use my personal insurance they said in order to do that I have to provide proof of comprehensive coverage. I show them my insurance declaration and they said no, they cannot accept liability I must purchase insurance from them for $30 per day! The insurance alone costs more than the car rental, which $24 per day. I have a clean driving record and I refused to get robbed. I declined the car rental and told the clerk it is not her fault, but the company she works for is a scammer. I turned around and walked next door to Sukura Rent a Car. I paid market price but they accepted my minimum liability coverage.
Recommendation: Make sure you have proof of comprehensive insurance coverage, otherwise they will charge $30 insurance coverage on top of your rental car rate. They banked on most people to NOT read the fine print.
