Dunkin' Donuts review: rudeness, towards customer ( 80 comments)

September 26, 2017 I enter the store. I requested to use the bathroom before before submitting my order. Before I had a chance to finished my sentence the assistant manager yells out that it was for customers only. I didn't have an issue with the policy, but it's delivery.

I was so appalled, that I initially walked out. Once I returned back to the store, I told him that he was crude and rude about the delivery of the store policy. He became defensive and in a threatening manner told me that I should either buy something, get out, or he will call the police. I told him to go ahead and call them, as I felt I did nothing wrong. Once the police arrived, I told them that my issue was simply that the shift manager was rude in the delivery of the policy. The heard my side, and his side, and establish that there really wasn't a threatening situation, and left informing me that regardless on how I felt, the policy was that I can only use such facilities after buying something, otherwise, I would just have to leave. I decided to go ahead and purchase my original order, but due to the manager's continued bad character, I end up canceling the order. So of course, the shift manager issues the threat of calling the police again, as if they don't have anything better to do. So, I choose to leave.

Keeping the refund receipt, I decide to call them to find out how I can issue a complaint against such individual. Because the phone number is from the store, once they notice who I was, they decide to disconnect it and not deal with me. I call several times, at different times, and they kept hanging up. Eventually, I speak to a threatening individual claiming to be the police. This individual stops me from speaking and issues a threat to stop calling, as it is harassment, perhaps because I am issuing threats. He indicates that if I call one more time, he would trace me and come to arrest me. I told him, that I never issue threat, that all I wanted was instructions to issue a complaint, and that was all. He gives me a 1-800 number, and I told him that it was all I wanted, and that I will not call again. He proceeded to tell me that I am making too big of a deal about such a little thing.

And yes, perhaps I have. However, sometimes you have to take a stand and set an example. A little courtesy would had evaded the entire issue. Usually things like this start because of small ridiculous thing that could had being avoided.

If I wanted to complain about service, for any reason, I should had just being provided with such information. The Police had better things to do than attend to a business who could avoid such calls by just providing a little courtesy to customers and potential customers.

While others will take their business somewhere else, I chose to state it here.

Thank you for your time.

It is to my understanding that when you give your money to a business that that business should be making all attempts, and efforts of making sure that their employees are treating their customers with the utmost respect, and giving them the satisfaction that they deserve. Unfortunately, this does not happen at the Dunkin Donuts on 330 W Rt.59 in Nanuet, NY located in the "Thuway Plaza" all due to one employee who we later found happens to be the uncle of the store manager. Late at night into the early morning hours on Mondays and Saturday nights, after a long shift at work, my husband drives an hour to pick me up, and we are forced to drive an extra couple of miles down route 59 before we can get a cup of coffee at the nearest 7/11 just to avoid this particular individulal. He shows deplorable people skills, and extreme laziness to the point that we don't even want to go there anymore because we don't want to deal with his attitude. We are not revenegful people, and do have respect which is why we will not reveal his name in our complaint. We would just like to express our feelings, and let the corporate management know what is going on so they can investigate, and take maters into their own hands.

A) Call the manager or call the corporate headquarters.

B) Dude works at a Dunkin Donuts. You'd probably hate your life if you worked there too.

C) A trip to DD takes maybe 10 minutes. I would suck it up for a coffee and donut if it meant avoiding being "forced to drive an extra couple of miles down route 59".

people who [censor] and complain like so are the reason people who work there hate their job. it's not their choice to work there, some people just need a means to pay the bills. and don't say "if you don't like it, quit", it's not quite as easy as that, if they leave that job they have nothing. some people aren't as fortunate as those working their cushy 9-5 jobs sitting on their [censor] at a desk all day.

I'm a Dunkin Donuts customer at 1600 Southeast Rd in Farmington. I always purchase my coffee at that location and there's this nice Black lady that always serves me. Yesterday (July 25th), I went to buy my coffee and there was a long line. We had to wait at least 20 min and some customers got tired and left. I asked the Black lady what where her other coworker was and she told me she's been fired. It seemed to me that the other assistant of the Black lady was stealing money. I asked the Black lady and she told me that her assistant is "playing games".
How come that the manager of the store who works with his wife and daughters together discriminate? Anyone who doesn't speak their language or is not from Mexico is been discriminated against.
Dunkin Donuts is not the place for discrimination!

Thanks

My daughter worked for this company for a year now, and she has been harrassed by 2 managers at 2 diffrent times. Shes never called in or was late, infact she always came in after her drunkin co-workers could not make it in because of their hang overs the folling morning. They would schedule her for afternoons and evenings (When her avability stated she was not able to work these shifts when she was hired (This is illegal to do in ny state) has another job with pension medical ect.) I called a week ago concerned about this store and how she has been treated. Asked the manager that I would hope this would not effect her job. Since I called her the job got harder manager found it convient to yell at her yesterday in front of customers ""real professional"" today she got fired by text on cell phone. Ive never heard such a thing managment grow some dunkin dog balls and sit down with your employees and fire them in person not by texting them. And just so you locals know you are buying old food they are to put new donuts on racks by 8 am they are not doing this until 3 pm. I use to go dd stores 3 times a week but havent gone in 4 years because the coffee is weak product has gone down hill. Kwik fill coffee is better and cheaper!

For the third time in less than 2 weeks this dunkin donuts location locks store door to customers and keeps only drive-thru open. Never ever do they have appropriate amount of employees to keep customer flow going smoothly in this location. Very inconvenient to find store closed on way to work and then be directed to drive-thru with 15-20 cars ahead of you! First time I gave them benefit of doubt and came back only to find same thing happening 2 more times in a week.
I have been a customer of dunkin donuts daily for many, many years and spend about $70 per week in these stores only to be inconvenienced time and time again. I guess it's time to choose another dunkin donut store to give my business too!

Are you sure that their store is even open? I know often drive-thrus will be open when stores are not.

Also, $70 a week at Dunkin' Donuts?

I went to the Dunkin Donuts at N. Haverhill and Roebuck at 8:45 AM to get a dozen donuts for my office coworkers. They had selected some choices. The donut shelves were almost bare. I asked if more were in the back and the csr said no. They had no plain, jelly, glazed or chocolate- only a few cream filled. The CSR suggested I come back tomorrow morning

On 9/30/2017 in newark liberty international airport at dunkin donuts at terminal a @ 0400. I purchased a large french vanilla coffee. the coffee tasted very bad. I brought the coffee back and spoke with employee jayshri patel (shift leader). dunkin donuts employee patel was very rude and she refused to exchange my full cup of coffee. she claims that I have to change my coffee immediately. dunkin donuts in newark airport does not have any signs displayed that indicate this. I am very upset and I have never been treated so badly. can someone please contact me with details on how I can make a complaint.

I am wondering why Duncan Donuts INSISTS on putting sugar in coffee even though I didn't ask for it. Endicott, NY, and several in Vestal, NY have done this.
A few times, after I left the drive through window, I would not taste the coffee until I was out of the parking lot and back on the highway. To my disgust, there was loads of sugar in it. I couldn't turn around and it was not worth my time. I always say, "large coffee, extra cream ONLY. Before I used to say large coffee, exra cream. That still didnt' work. I specifiy, ONLY and last week it happened again. My husband ordered the coffee at the window.
He handed me the coffee and as we got back on the highway, I took a sip and sure enough, SUGAR.
So now, I have to taste the coffee before we leave the drive in window or not go there at all. Maybe just buying the coffee beans there and just making it myself at home. If a person is diabetic and is handed a coffee loaded with sugar, that is dangerous.

I have talked to many other people that are annoyed that sugar is always added. What will it take for these employees that don't pay attention and maybe lack customer service skills also, to get things right? There are 5 DD locations that I go to and all of them get it wrong 90% of the time. What is wrong with this picture?

We are instructed, not by our managers, but directly from our training videos from corporate, to apply cream cheese to only one side of the bagel. That is the standard. For any flavored cream cheeses we have a 1.75 oz. container to open and apply to the bagel. If you want any extra, we have to open up another one to add more. That is why we have to charge. For plain cream cheese we have to estimate about 1.75 - 2 oz. to put on. I personally like a good half-inch of cream cheese on both sides but the employees cannot be blamed for lack of spread, or charging for more. We are only trying to do our job how we were told.

I've been to this store several times in the biltmore area of downtown and every single time the lady at the front counter is rude. Her name is sandra and she obviously does not want to be there in the mornings. She is real short with all the customers, she never smiles, and acts as though she some god complex. Seriously, I asked her for less ice in my iced coffee (I have sensitive teeth) and she said, "we can't do that you get a full cup of ice, then the coffee. If I give you less ice, you get less drink". Seriously?!? How much does that stuff cost, like 4 cents a cup?

The other employess are fine people! But this lady has some issues...

I called corporate because there was no number for the Daleville Dunkin Donuts, this seemed to greatly displease the owner of this particular branch. I called because simply, I've had problems before and this time they were out of a popular syrup for a drink, rude and never received a receipt with purchase for this occasion. After speaking to corporate, the owner was to contact me. I wish I never answered my phone. He proceeded to say I was the problem, that I was anal about how my drink was to be made, I fussed over the stupid things like whipped creme and lids, wouldn't let me finish a thought and continued to call me ignorant if I even tried to correct something he assumed. The greatest was, he first said 'receipts are to be given with every purchase' then to say 'we don't give them with every drive thru purchase because people just throw them out which is what you probably did with yours'. Went on to say that I can go back to the store tomorrow between the hours of 11am-2pm for a free drink on him, if I can't make it, oh well.
Oh, he also told me that 'If you have so many problems with my store, just take your business to McDonald's because I don't need your 'business'. ' I'm going to go out of my way now to stay away from the chains he operates/owns.

This place at times is very slow because they mostly pay attention too the drive through more than the front counter especially in the summer when they get hammered from both sides they try they're best too keep everything tip top I understand. The complaint I have too this specific place is for many reasons I noticed as a customer
When me my family came in we asked for a dozen donuts and 50 munchkins as well as 7 hot chocalates for everyone, and they messed up the order by giving us not our amount of munchkins as well as not even the right kinds that we wanted that we asked for
The dozen donuts came out too be fine but when it got too the hot chocalates they gave us 9 as we didnt see and also charged us for them
The working conditions of this place are a 2 out 5 because the manager was nowhere too be seen ta fix this problem
With all honesty if we as the people trust a person as a manager we trust in them too keep everyone in check and too make sure that all orders are done correctly and with all honesty they should think about new managment because none of that was done
And if they are reading this review/ complaint right now I just have too say too them specifically too seriously think about new management and promote someone too manager who looks like they can better well handle the job thats givin too them
Thank you for reading this, no hard feelings im just speaking my mind

One employee that always works at this specific Dunkin' Donuts store, is very nasty to select customers. Whenever I come in to the store, she is very kind to the costomers in line before me, whenever I get up to the register, she becomes a very bitter person. She will lose her smile and talk to me with an attitude. She has done this with other customers besides myself too, I have seen this strange behavior on various occasions. I would like to add that I dance down the street from this store, therefore this is a constant food souce and I am a very frequent customer. I have never done anything to offend her and do not understand why she has this attitude. She has even called people from behind me, before letting me order. Today, my friend and I went to purchase food from here and the card we were using did not work, so I ran back to get cash and was back at the store in about 3 minutes. When I came back, she threw her arms in the air and was very hostile towards my friend and I. I do not believe that paying customers of this company deseve vile treatment like this. I find it rude and disappointing in the chain.

I tried ordering a number 6 (Turkey sausage flat bread sandwich with coffee) with hash browns, but instead, the cashier charged me for the items separately, only after I pointed out that I wanted the combo deal with coffee (I got two receipts — one for the sandwich and hash browns, one for the coffee b/c I guess he forgot).

After looking at the receipts and noticing I was being charged more than I would if it were a combo, I brought this up to the cashier. He started arguing with me saying that I never asked for the coffee, even though I clearly said to him that i'd like a "number 6", which is a combo meal with a coffee! Just because I wanted the hash browns doesn't change that fact.in fact, adding the hash browns should have been cheaper too, since it would be added to a combo deal. But instead this cashier tried charging for these items separately, which I now suspect he's done to customers before.

After arguing back and forth, he started ignoring me and making me wait by serving other customers. He even asked me to move aside, which I refused. I asked for a manager and he said he was the manager, then proceeded to ignore me even longer by helping other customers. I said, "that's four people that you decided to help now, instead of me." and he snapped at me saying, "I need to help people in line."

Finally, he took my receipts and gave me a refund. However, when he was doing that, I said, "I don't want a refund, I just want to be charged the correct amount for the combo deal that I ordered." then he looked at me and said he was going to refund my order and not serve me. He actually refused service to me! I took the money and said I would report him and then stormed out.

He made me feel bad about myself for feeling like a hassle, then seriously looked me in the eye and said he wouldn't serve me after refunding my money, all for disagreeing with him. I've never in my life been treated this way, and this was a manager. That's f*ed up! After thinking about the whole transaction, I am positive that I was mistreated and am going to report this to dd's corporate office. No one deserves to be treated this way for simply mixing an order up. He was clearly pissed for me challenging the receipts after the order was put through.

We have bought donuts at least three different times and they have not been fresh. We figured we would give them a second chance, they were worst! My niece went to get some for the third time and they were so stale we threw them out. It seems like they were day old donuts. Is Dunkin donuts allowed to sell them if they are a day old? They are building a new store for this store to move into. New store new donuts, I dough it! Is this the way you think you will keep people coming back? Not our family! Your Donuts are disgusting!

Letter I wrote to express my extreme disappointment with the treatment and service I received 9/15/10 at franchise location #340422 in Hyde Park, MA. I am a long time Dunkin Donuts customer and frequent this particular location 1-2 times per day. I cannot remember a time where I have been treated this poorly and publically embarrassed in any retail situation.

I went through the drive-thru at 8:47am and ordered 2 egg white and cheese wraps sausage/cheese bagel and 2 coffees. After driving off I went to eat my wraps only to find they were still ice cold. I turned around, went back into the restaurant and explained my situation to the counter employee. I then heard 3 women loudly complaining that they weren’t the one that prepared them, they always heat them up, “that lady must have gotten theses HOURS ago and is now coming back in to get a refund”. The complaints/insults continued and when I addressed it by informing them that I just went through the drive through 60 seconds ago I was then insulted further. They talked under their breath stating, “calm down lady”. I then asked to speak with the manager. I was surprised to see he was in the same general area where these employees were as there is no way he did not hear what was going on. I tried to explain that at this point it was no longer about the poor quality issue but about the horrible way in which I was being treated. Before I could fully explain the situation I became very overwhelmed with emotion at this despicable treatment and was too upset to continue. I then left without a refund and without my wraps.

In searching through the Dunkin Donuts website I see many statistics on how great the products are, # of customers serviced, etc. What seems to be completely lacking are any commitments on quality of service. I read that the “soul” purpose is to lead and build great brands, deliver best-in-class menu items to eat, drink, and enjoy. There isn’t a single section of the website that speaks to Dunkin Donuts being committed to providing a quality customer service experience while getting these best in class products.

My hope is that my feedback will enable Dunkin Donuts, in particular this location, to learn from this poor service experience and provide a more best in class service to their customers.

Just this morning I bought A dozen of your Whitefluff filled donuts. When I tried one it was stale so I immediately let the manager know about it and he accused me of bring the product in from a different store. I bought the donuts and paid him for it. I feel it was rude and unprofessional for him to act this way so I told him I would contact someone about this. I am a frequent customer of Dunkin Donuts and feel belittled by this. Just so you know, I never left the store to be able to replace the donuts with stale ones. I dont know why this happened but it has left a bitter taste in my mouth because of my on going loyalty to your compnay.

This location has stopped making onion, garlic, and sesame bagels.

Palisades Park (a town right near this location) is now predominantly Korean.I guess that this location's production of wheat, plain, and raisin bagels reflects the Korean taste for bagles.

Well, I'm a Jewish guy, who has been eating bagels before most of these kids even heard of one. I'm really offended by this practice.

Dunkin Donut's desire to save a few bucks on uneaten bagels - the types I like - is going to cost them my business at all locations for all products. I figure that amounts to about $1200 dollars per year of my business. That's what DD will be giving up by making this short-sighted decision.

This is ethnic descrimination. Maybe I could sue them. Maybe this is descrimination based on race.

DUNKIN DONUTS IS OFF MY LIST!

I went to Dunkin Donuts in Crestwood. I order a coffee and a sausage eggs and cheese sandwich. The coffee tasted awful, it tasted as if the beans they used were old. It was awful. My sandwich was even worst the egg and sausage were cold in the middle. The bagel was hard as rock and staled. It was awful. I would have came back but i had to get to work. I have been at this Dunkin Donuts a few times but after this services I will never ever go back. The young lady who took my order was nice but she seem tried and annoyed being there. All the workers there look very unhappy being there. Thank you for your time and have a great day.

I absolutely hate this annoying commercial. It starts off with two practically overweight crows cooing over their fat laden coffee "drink". Some office perv decides that this conversation about how amazingly fantastic their coffee, is somehow about sexual harassment and proceeds to join them in gossiping over a couple in account. The two crows decide that this man is somehow beneath then, as evidenced by their smug disgusted faces, and the first fat chick explains to the perv that they are talking about coffee. This only turns the perv on and then the uglier of the two women with vile bloated lips manages to stumble out the word "mocha". The perv seems over the moon by this point, obviously excited about the prospect of an interracial affair, and drools out "oooo who is mocha?" you can almost feel him slowly reaching for his skunk.

I've been working at this Dunkin Donuts for awhile and on more than one occasion my manager has threatened to fire myself and other employees if we didn't get our restaurants ratings up. Now the only way we can promote this is to tell customers about the survey at the bottom of the receipt, but unfortunately most people don't want their receipts or want to do the survey even when we tell them about the free perks they'll get for doing it. Many of us have had customers throw receipts back at us for trying to tell them about the survey, but most just throw them away because they aren't interested. So my manager tells us that if the customers don't start doing the survey's she's going to start cutting our hours because it's our fault they won't take them, even after we explained to her what happens.
Not only this but she is rude to customers, even those with handicaps (mentally or physically). Just last month she yelled at a mentally disabled man to hurry up because he was taking too long and there were other customers, when in reality he'd only been standing there for 2 minutes and she'd only just walked around the corner to "help out". The other customers in line were perfectly happy waiting for him to finish and were appalled at my managers attitude with the man.
No one gets a break unless you smoke, meaning she tells you to take the trash out and have a cigarette. We've asked many a time why we don't get breaks and were told we don't work long enough shifts, which isn't true because I myself have worked 7 or 8 hour shifts and never received a break even then and I'm not the only one. When asked about it again, my manager said she'd start cutting people's hours if we kept asking.
She also is very unprofessional and talks about other employees to their fellow employees and tells us about how she's going to cut this person's hours and that person's hours because they aren't working hard enough in her opinion, when there are employees there that do nothing and she says nothing to or about them. She has come and told me things like this on more than one occasion and I just nod and smile and pretend like I care because I feel it really is none of my business. I've had other employees complain to me recently about her doing to this to them as well.
A few months ago an employee accepted a counterfeit $50 bill unknowingly and our manager, who is supposed to check all the money before it leaves, passed it on to the bank not knowing either. When the bank caught it and informed her she tried to pin it on the employee saying that it was their fault it was accepted by the bank and wrote them up for it and told everybody else there what had happened and how she was writing them up. She then posted a picture of the employee and the suspect up on the wall in the back for everyone to see and left it there for weeks to further embarrass the employee because they refused to sign the paper saying that they were taking all responsibility for unknowingly accepting the counterfeit money.
These are just a few of the things that go on at our Dunkin Donuts. Most I have been a witness to. Others have been told to me by upset fellow employees because without this job they can't afford to rent their homes and take care of their families, so they take the abuse. I personally would like to see a change in management because I know I am sick of my job getting threatened every other week because our manager decides she doesn't like you that day.

I was at this dunkin donuts at the shell gas station on route twelve and my sister and I went in just to get a bagel and iced coffee- this lady. Whine the counter was ridiculous she just glared at us which made it harder to order because neither of us felt comfortable. There's a line behind us when she asks something that I can't even begin to understand what she was trying to ask. I apologized and asked what she said again. She didn't even try to make it clearer so I just kinda looked at her apologetically hoping she would try again. She just stared at me. Meanwhile all these people were waiting patiently behind us still. Once I asked again for her to repeat she got all sorts of pissed off and said it again only fiercely and faster. This time understood though for some reason I answered and we moved on. I've never felt more uncomfortable talking to anyone in my life I suggest this woman either takes some English classes and learns to show customers at least some respect or find somewhere to work where those aspects aren't important to her job.

Learn proper grammar, please. It's "They're ###", not "THERE". What a turd.

Woops, it looks like this site doesn't like quotation marks. LOL.

Anyways, please learn proper grammar. It's "THEY'RE" not "There." What a turd. Go back to elementary school and re-learn your grammar please. Thanks.

Your bullying and threatening attitude in the video is ludicrous and outrageous, so shameful I felt shame and sorrow in your place, how do you say about someone that they are rude if you showcase such an utter level of RUDENESS beyond imagination, waving your stupid smart phone to film people threatening to post the video on Facebook if you don't get a free meal, how low and how cheap is that. You have displayed utter disgrace. If I was there like the customer in the red shirt and you had allowed yourself to film me and post my image on Youtube I would have sued you for using my image without my consent and I wish that that mad will come after you.
You thought you could now use social media to threaten and get what you want, and yes, you have gotten your free meal... HURRRAY BIG DEAL! But the only thing did is show how rude you are!

I don't purchase from Dunkin Donuts very often and usually it is for a bagel and coffee. In the last year if I have been through a Drive- thru 8 times I have received something wrong with my order 6 times; either the wrong coffee prep or the wrong bagel prep. I try to keep it as simple as possible and make every attempt to state my order as clearly and concisely as possible, but I continue to receive something that I have not ordered. The unfortunate part of this is when you are using the convenience of the Drive-thru you don't want to hold up customers behind you by double checking your order, therefore I end up throwing my order away due receiving something that I am allergic to or just do not like. I waste money by going to Dunkin Donuts so I'm done. I'll go somewhere else
where I can be certain that my order will not be continually wrong. You might want to look at the hiring and training process for folks in the Albany Co region of Upstate New York; I have done business with several locations in this area and have had the same experience at pretty much all locations.

I get dunkin donut coffee at least twice a day, sometimes three. My issue is, the customer service is ridiculous. They are rude and give you the feeling that I am bothering them. If you go inside in the afternoon, there is never anyone at the counter. I literally have to lurk over to make them see me, or even yell out, "hello", or yoohoo is anybody there. They are usually in the kitchen area talking amongst themselves. I have complained to a few manager's multiple times. They never get the order right, they just don't pay attention at all. With only an exception of two or three morning shift people. There are two locations owned by the same person, both located on atwells avenue. My issue is the store in the plaza on atwells avenue. I have taken my coffee back numerous times and told them I ordered it light. You get an attitude immediately. Another issue I have is the cheddar cheese bagel twists. They are never cooked thoroughly. Almost raw inside. They need to be cooked the same way the bagels are. I spend between 12 and 15 dollars a day at dunkin. I am banning this certain location like I have done a few times, but figured I would give them another chance being I work up the street from them and it is convenient for me. I am tired of these young people who work there with an attitude and the store does nothing about it. Thank you for taking my complaint, much appreciated!

It does not matter what his age is, most places do not allow people to take pictures. The old man did wrong and has to pay the price.
