Dish Network / Dish.com / no cbs - no dish

US Review updated:

Since we changed from Direct TV to DISH we're very disappointed. Who would have thought that BASIC Cable - which always includes the 3 major networks- would suddenly erode? All the other cable service providers in town have negotiated the contract to retransmit CBS. Not getting our local news, sports and our favorite prime time shows is a deal breaker. Fix it or we quit.

If you just changed, keep in mind you’d be in a contract and it would remain Valid. That means your cancellation fee would as well. Channels are covered explicitly in the agreement.

As for Directv, not sure if you have been watching, but they lost over 100 markets between Sinclair operated locals, Nexstsr, and CBS, and the Smithsonian channel. That is far more channels impacting far more customers... all but the Smithsonian were local channels. Charter, Cox, Comcast, PSVue, DTVN etc all lose channels at contract expiration also. This isn’t a specific issue to Dish, this is an issue of supply and demand. There is a price that makes sense, and when that price is higher, the channels take themselves down until an agreement is reached.
