Complaint About Discover Card’s Dispute Resolution Department
I’ve been a loyal Discover Card customer for 11 years, but my recent experience with their Dispute Resolution Department has been extremely disappointing. Discover advertises that they “protect their customers” and “stand behind every transaction,” but in reality, their dispute process is slow, ineffective, and clearly designed to favor the merchant — not the cardholder.
Despite providing clear documentation and evidence supporting my claim, the Dispute Resolution team failed to take proper action or advocate on my behalf. Instead, they repeatedly closed the dispute without fully investigating or even acknowledging the facts I submitted. It’s obvious they are more interested in checking boxes than actually resolving issues fairly.
Discover’s customer protection claims are misleading at best. When problems arise, you’re left on your own. The entire dispute process feels useless, unprofessional, and incompetent.
I expected better from a company that built its reputation on customer trust and service. Discover needs to seriously overhaul its dispute resolution procedures and start truly protecting its customers — not the merchants taking advantage of them.
