Days Inn review: Entire stay at Rock Falls,Ill. facility

To Whom it May Concern, President-C.E.O. Days Inn Corp.
I recently had the misfortune of having to stay at your Rock Falls, Illinois facility. Initially due to the hotel across the street being full, I was soon to see why, and the reason I had to sign on for a 3rd and 4th night. At a ridiculous cost of $135.00 a night (in Rock Falls, Illinois?)
The following is a listing of my observations during that horrible four nights. I would suggest a MAJOR inspection team visit this locale and consider removing their franchise.
The ground floor hallway stunk, the carpet installed years ago and last cleaned of the incredible amount of stains was some time in the 60’s.Coffee in lobby dispenser was cold. Room table light fixtures were rusted. Main window in room was hard to see thru for the filth. Coffee maker had no tray for the coffee packets. No condiments for the coffee in any case. No coffee cups the 1st night, when supplied one of the two was clearly used, it had a distinct stain around the rim and had particulate matter in the cup. The TV channels were listed in some type code, not their logos or channel numbers, I could not figure it out. No do not disturb sign for door. Room was not made up/cleaned for the 1st or 3rd night Tub valve was leaking down the wall when in use and probably behind it as well. Containers for soap/etc. in the tub/shower were empty when I checked in and empty when I checked out. The pool was for me, ice cold and unusable. The overall condition thru-out the facility was to my observation just dumpy and run down. There were more issues but I have lost count.
Prior to my retirement I stayed in hundreds of hotels thru-out the country and around the world, but I had never stayed in one so poorly maintained.
One would ask why I didn’t complain, the management was clearly foreign nationals, I did NOT feel it safe to do so.
I will unfortunately NEVER stayed in a Days Inn again
