On 01/30/2026 I selected a dress and measurement were taken for the dress and the bra. On 2.23.2026 I had a 2nd fitting with the dress that had been ordered and additional alterations were needed. I was informed that the bra had not arrived. On 3.22.2026 I arrived to pick up the dress and bra, only to find that the dress was not ready. In fact, the alterations had not started. I was told that it would be a simple alteration and chose to wait for it to be done. My appointment was at 11am and it was 1245pm when I left with the unfinished dress. It was made very clear that I was relocating to Charleston SC and would be leaving Alabama on 3.22.2026. I was told that only the outer layer needed to be cut, that work was done on it the night before. It was not until I made it to a second David's Bridal location in North Charleston SC that the dress alterations were done correctly. It was at the North Charleston location they took my measurements again I was informed that all layers needed to be cut on the dress. I am thankful that they were able to do what the Hoover Alabama location could not seem to do. It was the Hoover Alabama store,1723 Montgomery Hwy. South #101 that was paid to do the alterations, but did fail to make the proper alterations. This was the worse experience I have had for something that was so simple. I say simple because the North Charleston SC location had the alteration completed and I was walking out of the store in less than an hour. After trying on the dress in the store, it was determined that the inner and outer layer needed to be altered, the dress was too long. I must add that a staff member at the Hoover store told me to kick the dress out as I walked. The bra that I was sized for at the Hoover store was not the correct fit. I informed them that it was not fitting correctly, but there was no concern on their part. Thankfully the North Charleston store saw that it was not correct and with the assistance of a staff member I was able to receive the right size. The staff member at the Hoover store working on the alterations would not give me her name. But I am very thankful to Mr. Johnny Howard, the Store Manager. Mr. Jaisha Range, Sales Manager. And Bianca the Stylist at the Charleston 7250 Rivers Ave. Bldg 1300 location for all of their help.
Desired outcome: Based on my experience with the Hoover AL location. It is only fitting that the North Charleston location receives the payment for the work done.
