I called to cancel my membership today and was told I need to come in to cancel so they can verify it was really me. Who would call to cancel peoples gym memberships fraudulently? Doesnt make sense.
The main issue is I had moved. I am not within an hours drive of a Crunch and I explained this to the lady. She said it was not possible and said I can contact corporate if I wanted. I have paid about 12 months of this and used it 2 times at the very beginning, you have gotten plenty of wasted money from me, please cancel this immmmmmediately! If not I will go to the BBB and other means if I have to.

I enrolled as a peak member with Crunch at one location (Lauderhill) - giving me access to all locations.
When Lauderhill was sold to Zoo Fitness, I was told to sign a few documents so that they took care of my cancellation with Zoo (where I never signed up) and that I could continue in the other Crunch location.
Now I get debited by Zoo abd Crunch and asking in the new location, Crunch team members said, it is my problem between Zoo and me.

I have been a member of Crunch Fitness, in West Homestead, PA since they have opened. I had the basic membership, $9.95 per month and upgraded to Premium, $19.95 per month, because I was told that my daughters could work out at Crunch under my membership and that they could attend the facility without me. I was told i did not have to accompany my daughters, they are 18 & 20. my daughters have gone to work out and were now told that i need to be present when they go the gym. This is not what i was told when i upgraded, and i was mislead and i have wasted money on the upgrade because my sole purpose to upgrade was so my daughters could work out as well. I would like some kind of compensation, since i have been a loyal and active member at Crunch since it opened several years ago. I need to downgrade my account to basic, without any penalty and I would request that i get some type of free membership, due to the miscommunication of the staff at Crunch in West Homestead. As I see I am not the only one upset. Joined but trying to get help is out of the question it seems some staff are helpful. Asked for an orientation of gym was told staff to busy behind desk to help, but could pay trainers ten dollars and would receive help. Why should I have to plan extra fee? Staff should provide orientation as well as speake to new members about proper gym equitte. Was informed by staff members that they would not enforce members removing weight plays off equipment as should be required by fellow members once they are finished using equipment. Also, was enformed that if fellow members would not let you work in they would not intersed. If members don't understand proper gym equitte, because he/she is new to gym experience why should I a experienced bodybuilder be inconvenienced. Also, to many members for to few parking spaces. You have to drive around at least twenty minutes to park. You get a bad warm up before you start the good one (workout)

The assistant general manager of the Valrico location, who's name is Kirsty, hangs out at this location in uniform behind the customer service desk, gossiping about members, refusing customer service, and exhibits generally rude and unacceptable behavior. As a paying member, I find it appalling to be treated like this, and when I have asked other staff and management to deal with the problem, they only seem interested in taking her side and defending her. Maybe it would be better if the group of friends running this show would just hang out on a sofa over a beer and wings, instead of managing a gym. Guess this is what happens when you pay people ten bucks an hour part time.

Everything started when I got my personal trainer sessions with I took for a month and after that the next month the gym charged me money for another month of training sessions, then I got in touch with one of the managers at crunch la mirada and he sent a message to the company canceling my training session and then the gym kept charging me again and again which resulted in my bank giving me a fee of thirty five each time they did that. They charged me like 6 times so I had to paid the bank for that. I talked to the gym manager again and he said that the company told him that they did not receive anything and then after they returned part of my money, which I was happy but they they did it again recently. So now I owe the bank. I paid my membership monthly payment and my annual fee. The problem is just with the personal training sessions that I don't even want and the result is my money lost. I need an answer right away, and a solution please. I don't cancel my membership because I like the gym so please I need a solution!

We have had a membership with Crunch fitness ever since they bought out the previous owners. The last few months we did not use the gym, but did not cancel the membership, month to month payments were still being taken out. For some reason they were unable to bill for a months service on our card, and sent us to collections, even though we were on month to month, no contract. No attempt was made to let us know, although they "say" they sent an e-mail. I will be canceling our whole family's membership now. Horrible business behavior.

So I emailed the crunch San Dimas manager at the beginning of the summer because I was only going to be in CA for three months and didn't want to have to pay for a full year of membership. We emailed back and forth and he told me about the plan for college students where you pay for three months up front and then it automatically cancels after three months. I then went in and showed the email to the worker at the counter and they told me they signed me up for that plan. I then went to the gym and then just in case at the end of three months i emailed them to make sure I wouldn't be charged any additional money. I've since cleared my inboxes and can no longer locate the email. I've also realized that I've been charged for membership the past 3 months. I'm literally all the way across the states in Boston and haven't used my membership at all. The manager cancelled my never only after I complained and refused to refund the membership charges even though they were the ones who registered me for the wrong membership. I was very spedisci I wanted the one that ended after three months and showed the worker the email from the manager saying I wanted the three month upfront membership.
the gym environment, non qualified staff, and ridiculous manager
The whole gym, from the outside looking in is great. Once you go there you feel and see the stress and over worked staff at the front desk. Don't bother trying to ask them a question they won't talk to you until you wait at least 20 min.
Most the personal trainers Are over weight, I am sorry but off I was to pay for personal training I need someone who looks like they practice what they preach. The manager there is arrogant, rude, I honestly don't know what he does around there except walk around and talk to gym goers.. I have been to many gyms and 5 different crunches, and this one is definitely the worst. One more thing what gym tells you that you can't have a work out bag on the floor to prevent you from stealing ? Am I going to steal a weight ?

When I signed up for the monthly membership they told me I had to take a picture. Having a picture on file is no where in the contract I signed or agreed to. Once I explained that to the manager she then called someone above her to say it was okay and I could continue with signing up with the membership.
Everyday I come to the gym with the Keychain membership card I am being asked to show my ID. Majority of the time I go to the gym at the same time so I am seeing the same employees at the front desk I scan my card, my membership is in good standing, and again I am asked to show my actual ID/ picture of my ID to continue to my workout. TODAY I got a call from the manager that I have to show my ID everytime I come to the gym regardless of if I have my membership card or not. In the Crunch Garden Grove contract in (3.2) Proof of membership... States ::: member must present it (membership card) to the reception desk personnel each time Member enters a Crunch facility::: also is states in the latter ::: A member wishing to use facilities without his/her membership card will be required to provide proof of identity. Per this contract I'd only need to show my ID in the event I don't have my membership card. These employees are requiring me to uphold things that aren't legal nor in their contract. At this point I am feeling like I am being harassed solely off the fact I don't my picture in the Crunch system which isn't a requirement of the contract either.
music in gym
I live in Aurora CO and think you have a nice gym but the rap music they play here is disturbing. Every member I see here has headphones to drown out this crap. Only played for the employees. Very few people here probably because of the vulgar music. I've been to several crunch fitness locations across the country. All the other gyms play normal music and are packed. If the music doesn't change I will not be back to this gym. I can't be the only one with this complaint. Thank you.
