I have been having an issue with low voltage in my home since June 5th. Every day since then, I have been in contact with Con Ed in an attempt to resolve this issue and to no avail. I have record of 38 text messages going back and forth from June 5th to now and about 25 phone calls. Please feel free to reference the ticket number BE23026165. It will show the countless phone calls, text and emails that has transpired during this time. I have every last one saved in my phone and therefore I can show proof of these transactions at any point.

The issue is such that a tree in the backyard was cut down recently and after that, the low voltage issue occurred. Three different Con Ed crews have come out and determined that the issue is lies in the area where the tree was as there is now low hanging power lines and in order to fix it, they will need access to the next door neighbors backyard (I have pictures of chunks of wood tangled in the power line).

Next, the last crew that came to my home on June 22nd said that everything in my home was fine and again they would need access to the neighbors backyard. My neighbors and I are all working people and as such are not home during the day. I have since reached out to that neighbor (do not know him personally) and explained what's happening and gave him Con Ed's number along with the ticket number. Per the Neighbor, he called on June 23rd and was told that someone would reach out to him in 2-3 hours (same thing that I’ve been told over and over again). To date, the issue has still not been resolved.

Today, June 27th, at approximately 4:07PM I got word from the neighbor that he is home and Con Ed can access his backyard to fix the power line. I call Con Ed to give them the news and was told that “They will see if they can come out tonight to fix it but cannot guarantee it because it is a two-man job and they will need to find a second person”. Now that they have exactly what is needed to fix the problem, they have come up with some ridiculous excuse not to fix it. It is blatantly obvious at this point that these workers are practicing avoidance.

Next week will literally make one month dealing with this problem. Yesterday (June 26th) when I called Con Ed I was told that my ticket was closed due to full restoration of power. I never spoke with anyone to confirm that I had full power so I don't know how that was determined. However, it is a complete lie! Again, I was placed on hold as the customer service rep spoke to dispatch. I was told that a crew came out yesterday (to the neighbors I guess) but did not get an answer. I highly doubt that and why would they show up and not call since they now have his number? The rep I spoke with today asked me to call the neighbor and see if he's home and then call back. Why do I have to do Con Ed's job when I myself am currently at work?

I know for a fact that If I lived in Brooklyn Heights or Clinton Hill, this issue would've been resolved long ago. At this point, I'm feeling discriminated against based on my neighborhood which is completely unacceptable. I have been more than patient but the low power voltage has been a huge inconvenience in the following ways:

• No hot water (hot water tank is new so no issues with the tank itself)- hot water tank cannot work due to low power

• Cannot shower- due to no hot water, myself, my 3 children, my 2 yr old grandchild, my asthmatic brother are forced to leave home every day to go find places to shower

• Cannot barely cook- due to o hot water, we are forced to spend money that I do not have ordering food so that my children can eat

• Dim lights- some of the lights in my home are barely coming on, we cannot see and/or properly clean up

My kids and I have to deal with this while going to school and work every day, it’s absolutely ridiculous! WE ARE NOT SAVAGES; WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS! This has turned into a complete nightmare as Consolidated Edison has for the past month continued to take me in circles with phone calls, text and emails and has made absolutely zero progress with fixing the damn power lines!

Desired outcome: I need my power to be FULLY restored ASAP.
