damage to my alarm system
I had WW replace 24 windows on my home in Metairie, La on Wed. Sept 22, 2010. The gentlemen who installed my windows damaged 18 of 24 window's alarm system...My alarm system was FULLY FUNCTIONING prior to having my windows replaced. The sales person neither discussed or had me sign the portion of the contract stating removing the alarm system. I did have the alarm company scheduled to be at my home during installation but had to reschedule them to come the next day because the WW installer men were 6 HOURS LATE...I had to call numerous times to get explanations and excuses of why they were not responding. They received 1/2 payment of almost $5000 dollars...and I paid in full upon completion that night around 8pm. But not until the alarm company came to inspect the alarm system did we realize they had all but ruined 90% of my system. The first call to WW the manager Robert said "WE ARE NOT LIABLE" ...UNREAL. Then I reach Dave Buccannon...he decided to talk with those at his office and got back with me with the OH SO GENEROUS offer to have someone come and reconnect my contacts and they would cover 1/2 the cost...UNREAL. By the way..they ruined all the contact when they pryed them off the windows. My alarm company during inspection came to the conclusion that 18 of 24 windows can't be reconnected because the installers ruined the wiring. It was not until I got my attorney to call Mr. Buccannon and explained the LAW did I get a complete turn around. HOW SAD. I can't and won't with any good conscience recommend your company to anyone ever. So now I am left to wait for another return call that HAS NOT COME from Mr. Buccannon...he was to call today and let me know where we stand AGAIN on when the man is coming to do the repair. Is this what companies really have come to...they attempted to deny and skip out on their responsibility to correct something they wronged? And you wonder WHY the internet is FILLED with complaints with different WW franchises NATION WIDE. If it was done correctly and with kit gloves to begin with I would be PRAISING your company at every event I attend...how sad that isn't the case.
OK...HE CALLED...they are sending someone to reconcile the situation. Thank you WW of BR for responding and trying to make it right!
one big headache
Murray Davis came to our home Sat June 12th to demonstrate windows. We told him we put off replacing the windows for several years because we were concerned that our inside moldings would be harmed. He said it could be an outside install. Tues. June 15th he and his installer came to discuss it being an outside install and measured thewindows and we signed a contract on June 15 and paid our ½ deposit. He called his office while at my home and told them to order my windows that day. However, for some reason the windows were not ordered until June 28th - 2 week delay from the date of purchase order.
The installers finally arrived July 27th. That morning they found that two of the windows were manufactured incorrectly, 3 errors on 2 windows. Both were the wrong size and one did not have the grill. This should have been caught at the factory or at the time of delivery atWindow World. Not the day of installation. We told the installer that the house is not level, therefore, install the windows level to the world not level with the house. After installing 5 windows, we noticed that the sash was very crooked inside of their own frames. Murray Davis arrived and we pointed that out to him. Murray called Jim, from corporate, and scheduled him to come July 29th for his advise on the situation. Jim said thewindows were not measured correctly and that to make them fit, our house's wood frame would need to be dug out. We asked at that time, why not just remeasure the windows as Jim demonstrated with the proper technique since these windows were measured wrong from the start. We asked Murray Davis for some sort of financial compensation for the aggravation. He said he wasn't making any money because he had to pay his installers twice.
Sat July 31st, installers came back to properly install windows. They made it a point to tell us that they were installing on their time, contrary to what Murray stated and that they were not getting paid for their time.
We called Tues Aug 10th to check on the 2 window reorders to see how much longer we had to wait. Murray said they came in Aug 9th but would not be installed until Aug 20th. Murray claimed the weather held them up and an old lady that could not move her furniture was before us. We then questioned if people getting installs before us had signed their contracts before our date of June 15th, he claimed he did not know.
Aug 20th the window installers were to arrive at 7am to install the windows that had been re-ordered. At 9:05am, contact was made with the Alexandria office. She told us at that time one of the 2 reorders was again not the correct size.
Our home is in disarray since July 26th since furniture has to be away from the windows and we are tired of moving it. I removed the blinds from 2 windows twice, and will have to remove them again a third time. I have to replace inner moldings since the installers threw some of mine in the trash and hauled them away, one of our original concerns which prompted the outside installs idea.
We mailed a certified letter to the Window World President, N. Wilkesboro, NC, Blaire Ingle, stating all of our complaints and never received a response from him.
Installers arrived to finally install the last 2 windows Sept. 7th. One of the installers said he spoke to the corporate office about my letter. He said he did not throw away any of my molding, but I still have not found them on my property. He also cleaned the last 2 windows and left me a can of window cleaner. He states that after his talk with corporate, that he and the company are satisfied that that the matter is settled. And I did not receive any financialcompensation or even an apology from any level of the company.Angel7602
WW claims over 200 hundred thousand windows installed in Virginia Beach and only this complaint. Not to shabby I'd say. Even with 100 complaints such as this compared to 200 thousand installs...Eat your heart out competitors. Not bad for so called "junk" Alside manufactured Excaliber and Shefield windows.
company has liens
Window World of Jacksonville, Inc. stiffed us. The father-son owners promised to make good. They never did. We hired an attorney and he found out that this company has terrible credit, including several court-ordered liens. We cut our losses and moved on. Never do business with this company. They are bad guys. Sloppy, unprofessional, unorganized, rude and unethical. I would never recommend or hire them.
It’s easy to slander someone when there is no name or face, and the reason they didn't put their name was they knew opening themselves up for slander. It seems odd that they hired a lawyer to only check Window World of Jacksonville's credit rating. As to the liens, if you were to go to http://www.duvalclerk.com/oncoreweb, you can search for the liens against Window World of Jacksonville, and you don’t even have to hire a lawyer.
refuse to show up
I bought a new house in November 2009 which had new windows recently installed by Window World. In April 2010 a bird flew into one of the windows, cracking it all the way across. We called the company attempting to purchase a new window outright, and they told us the windows were under warranty but we had missed the transfer period (the former owner neglected to tell us about a warranty). For weeks we kept calling to get someone to come assess the damage to no avail. Finally my husband contacted the corporate office and the local owner called back (very huffy) and said he'd be over the next week to look at the window. NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN. A month and a half later, tried to get order the window using the one serial number we were able to find. They charged us $50 and a guy showed up w/the window - WRONG SIZE. He was going to throw it away, so we kept it, but he was to return to the store and order the correct window. Just called today, August 31, 2010 - gosh, they filed the ticket away and never ordered the new window. This company is completely disreputable and should never be used!

poor installation
I had 9 windows replaced with Window World in Denver/Centennial. The windows where good, however the installation was the worst I ever had for any home improvement project. The windows where put in crooked, so they wouldn't lock or slide, he drilled holes into the bottom of the window not into the sides to attach them to the frame, the trim finish was all caulk, the installer's knife gut a gash into my new counter top, which he claimed he did not do, installer left broken glass on the outside of my house... it goes on and on. Over the course of a month they sent over another installer to correct the mess the 1st guy made. Eventually the windows operated. However I am concerned that they are just caulked in and as that dries and weathers, it tends to crack and let in moisture and air. I guess you get what you pay for. It all comes down to the quality of the installer.
I find it funny reading all these complaints about window world of boston they advertise the lowest prices in the industry this is what you get. Drafty windows no service and so on. I had 2 friends of mine that worked for window world of boston they would joke and laugh about how bad there installers were they are known to pay thier installers the lowest pay these are subs that can get work anywhere else. Remember the old adage if the price sounds to good to be true it probably is...
I am having the same experiance...what a disaster. The screw holes in the bottom of the sills allow water to pour into the walls below.
I do have to disagree Brady2011. I have worked with Eric for a couple of years and I have sen him be nothing but fair to the people that worked for him. I do believe that he has made his way up through management with hard work and dedication. Not theses so called lies that you talk about. In the few years I've have worked with him never seen him ask his office girls to do his "dirty work" or made promises that he has never kept. In fact I have seen him go above and beyond for his employees and do what ever he can for them.
I worked at Window World Boston Eric Peabody was the store manager and he is now higher up in management.. which is funny considering he is such an arrogant lying ###...who has his office girls do his dirty work for him because he constantly makes promises he never intends upon keeping... he lied from the start and continues to do so... all while claiming to me a man of GOD... what a joke...
simply not true sounds like your more a salesman but if you make a statement first you should get your information right window world does not manufacture their own windows they buy the windows from alside (applied materials) it is the excalibur line which is the 2nd lowest quality line alside manufactures if you go to the nfrc website you will not window world listed most states have adopted the nfrc not only that but to qualify for any tax credit you needed to have an nfrc rated window so you dont make your own window and lastly window world sells franchises like subway does each one is individually owned and operated so they are misleading when they say they are a large window company their installers are paid the lowest rates in the industry these are subs that are not very good and usually not very expienced otherwise they would go to work for a company that would pay them more maybe where they could be employees instead of subs and get benifits even the sales reps at window world are subs paid on a 1099 which means window world does not pay any fica or medicare tax low prices equals low quality
I do work for Window World in central PA and our installers earn great livings because we do incredible volume. Window World does so by creating massive buying power and being a company with a transerable lifetime warranty. Full coverage! Because we manufacture our own windows, not just go to a lumber yard to buy one like any contractor has to which results in a manufacturers limited warranty. I find it questionable who those 2 "installers" were simply because I've been with the largest window replacement company for 4.5 years and know how the operate. Our installers love their work because they know they install great quality. And the company knows they do so at incredibly great pricing. I love their slogan of "simply the best for less!"
great price - low quality windows and installation problems
We had Window World install windows with argon gas for our entire home. We have had problems with the windows since they were installed. First, the argon gas does not appear to be working. The window glass is freezing cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Second, the windows were not installed well. The windows were placed into the window holes in the walls around our house and then caulked into place. A few of the windows were not made to the correct size for the holes so spacers were used. The spacers look terrible and this is not what we paid for. In addition, all of the windows in the back and side of our home have caused the vinyl siding above the windows to bow from the weight of the windows. In addition, because the windows were placed in the holes and only caulked into place, water and air blow in around the windows. Several times water has poured in from the top of the windows soaking the windows, the molding around the windows, and the walls and carpet under the windows. In addition, the molding that was built for one of the windows was built poorly. The wood molding separated and air is blowing in from outside through the holes in the molding. We have called Window World several times for help. The first time we tried to talk with Window World about the installation they did not return our calls. Next, we called when we noticed the vinyl on the top of the windows was bowing and the windows were not providing consistent temperature control. Someone was sent out to assess the situation. He told us it is was our fault we were having these problems, that our vinyl siding was not installed correctly and that the windows were installed as they contracted. He pointed out that that Window World doesn't provide any service to ensure the windows are installed correctly based on the placement of the windows. They were only contracted to make the windows, remove the old windows, and place the new windows in the holes. They were not required to install the windows correctly based on the customer's home. We spoke with our sales person when we saw he at a home show in February 2010. He seemed shocked that we were having problems and stated they have warranty and they would make everything better. He asked that we call him so he could come and review the problem and get everything fixed. We called him a week or two after the show. He said he needed to look at his calendar to schedule a date to come and see our windows. We did not hear back from him. In late April we called again and spoke with the store personnel who took down our information and had our sales person schedule a date to see us during that call. Our sales person expressed his concern that we were not happy and they were going to fix the problems we were having. The sales person visited and reviewed the problems. He said that he would report everything to their manager and they would get back with us. We have had no further contact by Window World. We now keep towels below the windows in to sop up the water when it rains and plan on removing these windows and installing better windows correctly when we have another $3500 to spend.

Ordered 8 replacement windows. I have paid the 1/2 down payment required. The 4 they installed were not like the others in my house so now I will have to replace 2 more so the front view of my house will be the same. The contractor used my bathroom and flooded it and the hallway thus damaging my wood floors. They have only offered $140 to fix the floors and the estimate is $1300. They are still pestering me about installing the other 4 windows! Don't want them back on my property!
Wow, that is alot of bad experience there! I own just a small company ( EntryPoint Exteriors) in Virginia Beach but have many years of experience. We always recommend that you look at the performance ratings on a replacement window before buying as it is the only way to know if you are over paying or not. Then we suggest you check reviews thoroughly. You shouldn't have to over pay to get a good job!
Evidently they tore out new construction metal or vinyl windows, you are onlygoing to have about an inch and a half left of your drywall because the window is over 3 inches wide and yes it is screwed through the drywall(to the 2x4 that is lurking behind it duh).Did you pay for the windows to be wrapped on the outside? From the pics it looks like they are not wrapped and yes water wind bugs and all kinds of other stuff will come through there eventually.Every company that subs out work runs into problems every now and then, but to me it looks like you got the $189.00 job that comes with no wrapping.
We had WW install new windows in our home near Nashville, Tennessee and had problems with an extremely large bay picture window in our living room. WW made several attempts to correct the problem but to no avail. After an email to corporate, we received a phone call from the local WW asking when they could come out and resolve this problem. When the store owner came out, he brought a former employee with him who now has his own installation company and he informed us that due to the weight of window it was improperly installed. He went to the local builders supply, bought the necessary materials and repaired the window immediately. We also had the WW store in Jackson, TN. to install the same double pane argon filled low-E windows in a home we have on Kentucky Lake in Camden, Tn. When the installers arrived to do the installation, all of the windows were too narrow and too short and we would not accept them. They re-measured and re-ordered the windows and this time they were correct. Mean-while, the large picture window near Nashville exploded and had to be replaced. Another call to WW and they responded, took measurements, ordrerd a new window, came out to replace the window, began sealing the edges and wham, the glass broke. It was not safety glass which is required on all floor level glass. So guess what? Another 15 foot window ordered, and replaced and so far we have not had any more problems with WW . So keep emailing corporate and they will step in and take care of you.
here are the SOME pix of the shoddy work...(that's putting it mildly...)
Shoddy workmanship runs pretty consistent across the USA as it pertains to Window World. We have about the same problems as ViWalker. They did NOT make the windows big enough for the opening and therefore inserted them close to 2" inside of the original window placement. They screwed them into the sheet rock! I had blinds that USED to fit INSIDE the window, now I have to hang them OVER the window because the windows are so far into the house. In addition, we have so much draft and cold air. We have used 15 tubes of caulk on 6 windows so far. They put the windows so far into the house they set them on the TRIM! If I wanted to change the trim later on inside, I won't be able to...the windows are on it! Looks horrible! (see the 2 first pix) This is a nightmare! I wish I had read reviews before I contracted WW. Their customer service--well there isn't. I contacted 'headquaters' and that was of no value.
I can't understand how a business like this can stay in business for long. Everyone I know that is looking to get windows will be alerted about this company. I have prevented one other couple from making the same mistake, I will do my best to see that WW NEVER has business in MY town again! EVER.
Oh yes, and they want to blame the customer! NEWSFLASH WW! You're SUPPOSED to be the experts here, not us!
@JW3...rest assured I will be contacting an attorney over this. I am SICK over it!
I am filing complaints with every agency I can think of, including but not limited to Attorney General, BBB, Consumer Protection. I will be doing some research to find out if this company can be banned from entering the County I live it. I feel that is consumer protection as well.
quality of product
I am bringing this to the consumer first. If you bought a product that came custom made for your home, and when the product was ready to be installed, it was found to be wrong. Now, instead of correcting it the proper way, the company just told the installers to "cut it and make it work". Would you still want that product in your home? (Me personaly, no way. I want them done right, for the money im spending) I have installed a lot of windows for this company thru out cincinnati and northern kentucky that were not measured correctly, instead of re-ordering them, was told to cut the window on site (Out of sight of the homeowner) and make it fit. Some were cut so much they barely stayed together. Now my question to you the homeowner would be.
Would you want to know if your windows were re-cut (Rough cut at you home) before installing them? So you can have them come and redo them correctly.

awful service
They start with untruthful advertising practices, then move on to not doing background checks on there installers, then denying it. Then after almost 6 months of return trips with either the wrong size, not tempered, not designed right they call today to bring the window again, 7th try. I had called in to the company after the initial install, because my one of my family members that works at the correctional facility, new 2 of the installers. They had been in my bathroom and after finding this information out, I checked my Medicine chest and sure enough about a 1/2 of bottle of prescription medicine was gone. I contacted their office and the they really never addressed my complaint. But the kicker is when I asked to speak to someone before final payment, he offered me 100 dollars, I said no way, and he said he would see me in court, I hung up, he called me back and said he would be here tommorrow to finish, I hung up!

poor service
I had 14 windows installed last spring by window world, everyone is drafty. The workmanship of the installation was piss poor.So far after 2 calls they have done nothing.I would not recommend window world to anyone. The inside trim joints do not fit right, and they banged up the trim on installation.Cold air comes in all around every window.Outside trim is very sloppy and unprofessional.A three window unit in front of the house is trimed out in metal, and is the worst looking mess you ever saw. The installer Mike Morgan is supposed to have 20 years experience. I must have been building dog houses.

UPDATE: The Window World regional manager (Bill McConnell) came out this afternoon and confirmed that there were some unacceptable air leaks in our windows. He's making us an appointment with a different crewman to come out in the next couple of days to run some silicone sealant behind the wood trim and stuff some extra insulation between all 4 windows and their frameworks. He said that if that doesn't take care of the problem, then he'll order for the windows to be removed, remeasured, and replaced if need be. I'm hoping that we wont have to go to that extreme, but I'm loving the fact that he's willing to do whatever he has to do to get the problem fixed. He takes care of the whole Toledo, Detroit, Findlay, Pittsburg, Steubenville, and Youngstown areas. I strongly encourage anyone else in these areas that may be having problems with their windows, to give him a call. The cell phone # listed on the business card that he gave me is as follows. [protected] ~ He seems like a fair and honest guy. He did mention that he will be calling a meeting with the installers that put our windows in to talk to them about the mistakes they made and to let them know that the excuses they're giving his customers were not acceptable by his standards.
A simple adjustment (made by Bill this afternoon) fixed some of my issues and he said in regards to the spacing issue seen in my photo above that it is normal for the windows to "sag" and be a little uneven here and there to allow/compensate for imperfections in the framing, or the hole in the wall that the window sits in. (Normal settling over time of any home will sometimes cause uneven squaring of the opening.) ~ He made note and checked that all the locking mechanisms were lining up and working properly and assured me that as long as they were and as long as there aren't any air leaks between the two windows where the two pieces of weather stripping meet, then it's nothing to be concerned about. With all due respect, that doesn't seem to be a factor for us. *thumbs up* .. An explanation from the regional manager as opposed to an excuse like "Well, that's typical" from the installer makes me feel a lot better about the flaw and as long as it doesn't create a problem later on down the road, I'm happy with that. Even if it does, I've been assured that the windows are covered under a lifetime warranty and in the event I run into a problem, all I have to do is give Bill (or whomever may be filling his shoes) a call. He was very helpful today. I am anxious to see what kind of magic his other crewman (Terry, I guess is his name?) can work with the air leaks we currently have on our hands. I have a notion that it can't possibly be any worse than it is and that anything he can do for us will offer up some definite improvement. I hope this post has proven helpful and given those of you who may have lost hope of getting your troubles resolved, if nothing else, a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel. Best wishes and good luck.. Be well.
Trying again with the picture upload.. If this doesn't work, I apologize in advance.
Not sure what happened, but apparently my photo didn't upload to the message board. Sorry about that. :-(
I'm currently having issues with the Toledo office and our windows. I wish I would have seen this complaint before we suggested Window World to our landlord and had him replace 4 of our windows upstairs this past fall. We live in a 111 year old farmhouse. It's rental property, but the house is not a falling down dump like some rentals seem to be. It wasn't a cheap home when it was originally built. We're out in the country in the middle of a 90 acre corn field and the winter winds here can be brutal. One of the windows (the larger of the 4, and the one that cost the most because by code it had to be tempered glass ~ which the landlord had to pay $65 extra for) leaks quite badly. (All 4 windows leak, but the larger of the 4 is worse than the others.) ~ The top of the window doesn't latch and drops about 1/2 an inch when you lower and latch the bottom half of the window. There are air leaks between the two windows up near the lock mechanism and air leaks in the framework around the caps on the sides and at the tops. One of the smaller windows has a visual flaw that indicates that the window is either defective or not installed properly. (It's crooked, see pic below. If you look closely at the white horizontal line across the top, you can see that the right side is higher than the left.) ~ I've called the installers out twice since the initial install to diagnose the problems. (I can't remember the guys name, but he's not hard to see coming. He drives the old ABC Seamless Siding truck and he walks with a limp due to having bad knees.) ~ All he's been able to do for us is make one excuse right after another. "That's typical for all windows", "it probably just needs caulk" (He did squirt some caulk in the larger window once where they claimed they detected a pin hole ~ but that didn't do any good) and my all time favorite "Well, since your landlord didn't pay extra money to have the aluminum capping redone on the outside, of course they're going to leak." ~ Hmmm.. That's funny! We had two other windows installed by a private contractor in another room upstairs about a year and a half ago. He didn't replace the capping and those windows are fine. While I'm on the subject of those windows (the ones the private contractor installed) it wouldn't hurt to add here that our Window World installer asked me why we weren't having that rooms windows replaced. I explained to him that they were just done a year ago. He asked me who did them, to which I replied "I'm not sure. My landlord hired him and I don't know who he was." He then asked me if he could take a look at them. I said "sure, go ahead." ~ He pulled the curtains back, took one look at them and said "Wow, I hope your landlord didn't pay too much money for these. They're junk and I'm not just saying that because I work for Window World. You'll get 5 good years out of these if you're lucky" ~ WTF?! They're a hell of a lot better than the POS windows he installed. Another thing I noticed is that Window World did not use/stuff fiberglass insulation strips in between the window frame and the window itself before they put the woodwork strips back around the window. When I asked them why, they told me that their windows have a foam rubber pad on them that keeps them from having to go to such measures. When they installed the larger of the 4 windows, it appeared to be such a tight fit (maybe because it was measured incorrectly?) that the foam rubber pad caught the wood, and curled and rolled up as it was being put into the hole. Our upstairs is so cold that when you get half way up the steps, it feels like there's a window open somewhere. What a joke this company is. We're expecting some pretty nasty winter weather in the next few days with temps in the teens, snow, and high winds. Our kids are going to have to sleep downstairs on the couch to keep from freezing to death in their own bedrooms. I'm going to call Window World yet again this morning and demand to speak to someone in charge to state my complaints. If need be, they can either come out here and see for themselves what kind of crap they peddled off on us, or they can send another installer out here to give me a second opinion. Not that I expect to get restitution. One way or another, I want the problem fixed! Pretty bad when you have to consider hanging plastic over windows that are only 2 months old to keep my heat bills from skyrocketing!
Hello, we used the office in Toledo and the workmanship and quality has been as bad as I have had in my life. We had a bow replacement window, storm door and metal front door installed TWO yrs ago. The have been back a dozen times. First they took out our bow window, unloaded the new one, when they took it out of the box, it was the wrong window. They never even checked to see if it was the right color quite obvious no quality control. The had to temporarily put it the new window and because of the gaps, we ended up having mice that we had to catch. Two months later, they brought the correct window, after coming back three times, they finally got it installed correctly, altho with the bad cold below freezing winter we had last yr, we ended up with frost on the window. The said because it was a bow and stuck out so far the updraft from the wind froze the window (according to the main factory). Next we purchased a screen door, and metal insulated front door. They installed the handles backwards on the storm door and the front door was crooked. The came out again, fixed the handle on the storm door, then replaced the front door. After replacing the front door it left a 1 inch gap between the door frame and hinges. They sent a factory rep from the door company said nothing they could do. I complained again, they sent us a whole new door & frame, when they installed it, the hinges were were defective and we couldnt lock the storm door because they had to add extra wood from the damage of removing the door. In addition they told me they would insulate around the door and window. My wife was home during installation and no insulation was added. I would never recommend Window World to anyone and my wife is pissed I even chose them as a contractor. I have called the office in Toledo and they have not returned my call, even tho he says on his phone message "you will be surprised how quickly I will return your call!" I think they are tired of hearing from us. You are probably better off going to Lowes and have them install as I have better luck from them or a good local contractor that we use. Stay away from Window World
won't honor lifetime warranty
After having multiple problems with the windows. I called the original (installing) Window World but the business was sold to Windows Direct. I spoke to Scott Wolmen who will not cover the Window World life time warranty . Then I called a diffrent Window World Company store and spoke to Jamie Eller, told him the problem and he said he would take care of it. I have never heard from him again. I called back several times and left messages. Finally reached him and had a big argument, he refused to correct the problems because "his Window World didn't install the windows" This was just a big headache & expense.
Windows Direct will not take care of this, My Purchase Agreement and all documents state WINDOW WORLD. These are Window World Windows and the sales represenative stated he was from Window World. If Window World subcontracts to outside installers they still have to honor the window world warranty. I never had a contract with Windows Direct! The fact still remains, These windows are defective and the company is defective. Every time the wind blows it WHISTLES DIXIE in my house. The Photo clearly shows this is a manufacturing fault.
We tried to contact Window World in Winston Salem but because we purchased windows from WIndow Pro
they could offer us no help. No one seems interest even though we paid for the windows and I belive they were built by a company in Lexington NC who moved to Salisbury nc and are now not in business. Can sombody help us
We purchased windows for our entire home from Window Pro with lifetime warrenty. They are no longer in business aand we have several windows needing maintenance but can get no help as Window Pro is in Detroit Mi and are not interested in our problems in North Carolina. We are at whitts end aand ned a solution.

BEWARE ORMOND BEACH RESIDENTS...DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED CASH GIVING IT TO THESE CROOKS. HOWEVER, SOME OF YOU WILL, , , AND WE WILL SEE YOUR POSTS EVENTUALLY. THEY CAN EVEN MAKE ANY ATTEMPTS TO SATISFY THEIR CUSTOMER BASE...POOR, VERY POOR, EXTREMELY POOR COMMUNICATION BETWEEN ORMOND BEACH OFFICES AND CORPORATE OFFICE. THEY COULDN'T EVEN AFFORD A DECENT OFFICE SPACE THAT WAS A BIKER BAR FOR YEARS! THE PREVIOUS OWNER OF THE BAR SHOULD REOPEN...KICK EM OUTA THERE. :/
Do not under any circumstance contract with this company for anything(the contract means nothing to them)...they charge for service that is not provided(charged me $3000.00+ for removal of existing exterior) the contractor simply nailed 7/16 OSB over old exterior along with the Free gutters(have more waves than the ocean) have lead to water problems in home...check the names of their contractors before work is done...and from what I have researched pray you don't have any issues warranty or otherwise as they will blame everything on you...once they get your money you mean nothing to them...STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
Window World touts their great customer service - but they are rude and
will not helpful if you actually try to take them up on their lifetime
guarantee. I was told different things everytime I called and each time
it became more expensive. In my case, they did not stand behind the
quality of their defective window. Please beware before you use this
company. Their President says in a video on the window world website
that they "will not abandon their customer". Well, I can tell Dana Deem
they not only abandoned me, they were rude too!

Just called for a leaking window...was told they didn't cover the installation but for two years...well that's not what we were told!
warning found too late ! but i now see the light wish i would have looked harder before i bought from them.
Window world is the worst do not use them the are just the worst in the roanoke valley period they argue with the customers and take months or in my case a year to get tha job done not good service at all in fact the worst I have ever encountered u have been warned!
Both companies have lots of registered complaints. It appears that bad reputations are finally catching up to bad jobs. My advice would be to stay away from either of the two.
unprofessional service
I had 5 windows installed. I would say that they turned out good however they seemed to rush through the job to get it done. There are many reasons why I'm posting this complaint. First of all, they arrived and the worker took a massive dump in my bathroom, without asking me if he could use it. Then, the other guy went into my garage and started cutting wood up with my miter saw, again without asking me. I was amazed. Then, he drops a window on my hardwood floor. After an inspection, everything was fine but still.. he dropped a window. He was on the phone while capping my windows complaining about some job he didn't want to do. And to top it all off, they left their lunch wrappers along my drive way. Absolutly disgusted, I should have done my research on this company. I guess it could be worst, they windows did turn out alright.

terrible workmanship
Had them replace 8 sunroom windows. 3 of them would not close or lock. Still dealing over that. The allumniun wrapping outside looks like a 5 year old did it. Trim inside leaves a lot to be desired. Most trim work was cut from one half to three quarters of a inch to short but hung anyways. Owner auctually tried to tell me it was wood shrinkage. They were extremely rude and vulgar when pointing out these details. Do not call these people if you want a quality job.

We hired Window World of Washington, Il to install some windows, soffit and gutters in 2009, the windows are fine, the gutter is not slantted properly so when it rains the water gushes out of the gutter right over the door, after at least 10 complains that is still not fixed, but because we were happy with the windows, we foolishly hired them again to replace two custom size exterior doors. They came out with regular doors not custom and not even the style we ordered, cut the house to fit one of the doors, cut the door to fit the other door, so the door handle is very low. the doors are not flush on the sides or bottom, and for some reason after they installed the short door the nearly new storm door no longer fit so they cut the bottom off that. They did no clean up, there was insullation and trim flying all over the neighborhood. I have called 7 times. Jeff from the Galesburg office came out over a month ago, said the doors would be replaced, measured and has not been heard from since. The Washington office keeps telling me they will check on the doors and get back to me but they never do... Signed: In limbo in East Peoria, IL
worst service ever
Window World windows are made by another company. They do not have their own manufacturing plant. There is nothing wrong with the windows themselves...it is the independent installers that make the problems. These guys are the bottom of the bucket when it comes to workmanship. All they want is their money and to get out as soon as possible. I have Window World windows that have been installed and removed and reinstalled 2 times so far and are still not finished. They will not pass the code inspection and will need to be completely removed again and reinstalled. Beware of the sales pitch and contact your local inspector yourself before they seal up all the windows so that he can come see how they really are installed. Don't let the installers get away with making you think that you can't get a better job. If it doesn't look right to you...it probably isn't right and you won't know it until it's too late...after they have your money !

the installers are being ### ust like the customers they have to muy all the materials not window world installers only get ten dollars a window my husband works there
amen, the worst installation ever... i called their office and told them i was unhappy with the installation, and to noty run my credit card untill the work was satisfactory, they ran it anyway, and then it was one excuse after antoher..
Window World sends out salespeople, not the installer to measure the windows. Some of the salespeople have little to no knowledge of construction and make promises to customers that can't be kept.
The installers sometimes find that the windows have been measured incorrectly and have to make them fit by any means possible. This can be quite time consuming and because they pay by the window and not by the hour the quality of the installation is compromised.
Because Window Worlds prices are so low and they need to make a profit they cut costs somewhere. Most likely by cutting labor costs.
Because they pay very little they cannot get or keep quality installers. You get what you pay for.
What do you people expect? This is an important home improvement. You wouldn't buy clothes & furniture at KMart, why would you ever buy windows there? The product is as cheap as you can find in the world...HELLO
horrible service
I went through Window World to get my windows done. First they send a nice sales guy to sucker you in, telling you how wonderful their windows and services are. The windows are alright, but their service is the worse! First they send two trashy guys over to install the windows, They were yelling at eachother, window world says they clean up after themselves, nope, they left smears and smuges all over the windows, flakes of the old paint and trash on the floor! Foot prints on my counter tops! While calling the office to put in my credit card information, the guy was lauging about a bad comment that another costumer left for him, as if it was some joke. I didn't even know his name until he told the person on the other line who he was. Then, Whenever I called them back, the person on the other end was having an attitude with me! Don't go through Window World, you can get same windows elsewhere, and not have to worry about the horrible service. I would never go to window world again!

I wish I would have seen this post sooner. The windows are alright. The service does suck. Save yourself the headache and get your windows someplace else.
poorly installed windows
Bought over 20 windows from Window World for a newly constructed home. A few of them leaked & when my husband went to install our siding, he realized all the windows would have to be removed & reinstalled! The caulk was so uneven & thick in spots that the trim & siding could not be installed until it was fixed. Called WW & was told that they would not refund installation price but would reinstall them...the same way they had been installed the first time! No thank you! Needless to say, my husband is removing & reinstalling them the proper way! They even sent the wrong frame/trim for the reinstall. I feel bad for the customers who are not able to fix them on their own! They say they usually don't do new construction. I don't think it would have mattered either way. Terrible installation!

beware
The owner of Window World Escondido Ca is a liar and has ruined my house. I was trying to improve my home to sell it, and now it looks like crap and I've lost thousands of dollars to these jerks. Stay away! They give you a lovely brochure making everything seem like it's going to be great, but they never do anything that's in the brochure. Switched windows I ordered saying they didn't carry that one anymore, half of my windows are installed inside the frame, half outside. They removed my support braces and never put them back. They left broken glass and debris all over inside and outside my home, they scratched and damanged my walls, I could go on and on. Beware!

customer service
I have had the WORST experience ever with window world of dc. First of all they say the sell a 189 window installed, thats a lie. yea sure they will install it for 189 but you gotta get this and that (you have to get the ext. trim and low/e argon gas and any other options more $$$) AND the 189 is their LOW END window...so youre gonna be spending 300-400 per window. Ok so that isn't the bad news...oh and the sales ppl will show you reviews and comments from previous customers raving about the company but I think thats total bs probably just made it up themselves. the sales ppl tell you "oh you'll get a call in a few days 3-5 at the most and someone will come to measure your windows"...another LIE. nobody calls you. NO ONE. you have to call and practically beg and complain for someone to come out. and when these ppl who work over there answer the phone they have this attitude like why are you calling me? wuts your problem? customer service really really really sucks. the ppl who work there must be miserable its like your calling the morgue. you gotta be courteous, have a smile in your voice but more like there angry that you called. oh and when this measurer does call you he doesn't speak English. yea so you have a really hard time trying to communicate and the caller gets upset with you and yells at you. umm hello I'm the customer I should be upset not you. and the installers don't speak English so you gotta call the office and go through hell just to communicate. I mean they speak very limited basic English. and I got no problem if you can't speak English but if I'm paying you guys thousands of dollars I shouldn't have to go through that to ask questions during install. cheap windows cheap labor a friend told me. so they say 4-6 weeks from time you sign a contract to the time you get installed another lie. took 3 months. it was a nightmare mismeasures, order wasn't placed correctly, oh the truck from the factory didn't bring the windows blah blah blah excuses excuses. and they rave about their lifetime all inclusive warranty. yea if you call and complain 10 times and put up with their horrible customer service. if you ever call them they'll say I need to take a message we'll call you back...yea next year. I had to drive to their office just for them to listen to me when I had a warranty issue and when I just wanted to know what da hell is taking so long for you guys to call a customer back. look if I wasn't so upset with their product, service, and just the way they treat ppl I wouldn't be wasting my time putting this up. I just don't want anyone else to go through this nightmare because they say there great but there not.
oh wow mwhite u hit it right on the head! im a disgruntled employee.
and probably everyone else here complaining about window world is a disrguntled employee.

go sue ww for there crappy services and products
The attorney for Window World of DC is in the process of pursuing this former employee to the fullest extent of the law because of acts committed while in the employ of our company. Further, he will challenge the site to remove these lies and inuendos.
We take customer service very seriously. We have grown our business in the DC metro area to be one of the most successful window replacement firms in this area. We install over 20, 000 units per year with approximately 40-50% of that coming from referrals. Obviously that would not happen if we were not satisfying our customers.
The finish on the tops of these windows is like swiss cheese. I sent pictures to the local branch and they started asking for "true to size" pics. I have no idea what that is but for $4400.00 dollars, you all can send a rep out here. They didn't, I called corporate office spoke with Marty, said he would handle it, nothing ever came of it.
I asked for a patio and front and side doors, but you can forget any business from me any more. I had to do all the prep work for them, blinds removed, burglar alarms disconnected, window curtains removed, and I was left to put them all back up myself well it has been 4 months and the window dressings are still down. I have carpal tunnel, torn rotator cuff and am 68 years old unable to do it.
5 surveyers called before, during and right after set up. What was the point? They can write any thing down on the phone. Such poor customer service.

waste of time and money
We had Window World of Greater Boston install 9 windows in our home after Window World of Southeastern MA did such a great job installing 15 previous windows. Lesson learned - each franchise operates with very different business practices and Greater Boston cannot be trusted!
Removal of old windows and installation of 9 new ones took three guys 90 minutes. They rushed the job, broke all our trim, left grimy hand-prints all over our newly painted walls (even walls not near windows at all). They also didn't clean up after their job, leaving sharp bits of wood and screws all over the floor for my 1 year old to find and eat! They also nailed all our trim back into place instead of using the screws (lazy) so it will be really hard to remove when we have to replace their bad product. Finally, when they broke the trim, they tried to cover up their bad job with a little chalking, leaving sharp jagged edges which we had to replace at our cost. It took me an entire day to repair what they ruined. One of the new windows doesn't even close all the way! The exterior chalking is already peeling away (after 2 months) letting in water whenever it rains. They also left a sign in our yard advertising their business without my permission (which most companies - Newpro, etc, will give you a discount if you agree to let them post their signs. I wouldn't have minded if someone had just asked me before they did it. The flagrant disregard for the customer and the total laziness on the part of the installers is very obvious). When I called the manager about our concerns (namely the window not working), he sent the same installers back to our home. They showed up over three hours later than our appointment, no courtesy call, blaming the delay on "traffic." They then told me that everything worked fine and they weren't responsible for any of the aforementioned problems. They were very rude and I'd never welcome them into my home again. I spoke again with the manager, who after hearing my concerns over their installers, told me that he'd refund $200. Over a month later, I haven't received the check, have called every day for a week, and the manager has been avoiding me. Buyer beware - I would never buy from Window World of Greater Boston again. We will probably have to have these faulty windows ripped out and replaced by another company. What a waste of my time and money.

I purchased 18 windows for my home last year from Windows World Montgomery, Alabama. Every morning now I get up and they sweat on the outside. None of my neighbors windows do this. When I first reported it, their representative said he had never seen anything like this in 21 years. When he came to examine the windows the next day he said it is normal. They have no intention of replacing this windows that cost $6, 000. Windows World is one of the most corrupt firms out there!
I am looking to replace all my windows. Today WindowWorld came to give a demo. The salesman was very rude and defensive. Instead of answering my questions directly, he got offended every time I asked a question, while I was not even trying to attack them. He did not understand that customers might not be experts in windows, and might not know their practices or policies. I felt being attacked and insulted by him the whole time, and ironically he acted as if I insulted his company by asking any questions regarding their warranty policy. He kept saying that he already told me this and that...indication is that no question should be asked a second time, and we should just trust anything he said. He was yelling the whole time. I have never seen a salesperson behave this way, so thought I just got a bad salesperson, but it looks like all of them from WindowWorld behave this way. I do not think I would use this company for any work. If salespeople even behave this way, it is hard to imagine anyone else from this company would behave better. Oh, well. Cheap companies sell cheap windows.
I suppose the first person that needs a grammar lesson would be you C Smith. It would be their grammar not there grammar.
Wow looks like most of the people on here need to work on there grammar first!
What do you people expect? This is the cheapest product on the planet..HELLO. You can't get the best quality, the best service for the cheapest price. Spend KMART money, get KMART crap.
There is not good communication between the workers and the office. I had a fiberglass door and storm door installed. They didn't bring keys for the locks. Next time they only brought out the door handle lock so I still have no matching keys. Deadbolt doesn't latch - worker just shrugged his shoulders. Storm door was "wrong size" 1st delivery - turns out the installer didn't know how to measure it - it was ok and I had to wait a month to get the same door back. They cut the door opening larger - then trim didn't fit - they put little pieces of wood at the bottom that looked like crap. They were to replace the trim on the 2nd trip - they didn't bring any and said they knew nothing about it. I had purchased some the day before they arrived that day (4 hours late). Now I am stuck staining the trim! I still owe $ so they are not getting one penny until this is resolved. Riduculous. This is the 2nd time I have waited 4 hours or longer for them to show up "first thing". Office does not care anything about its customers. This is the Omaha, NE office.
window world is just a very dirty company to deal with. they claim oh it happens to 1 out of every 10 customers or its only a very few ppl who have these problems...but truth is its not just a few ppl its ALOT! and its not just isolated to one location or store its happening in ALL their stores/franchises. from my own experience in dealing with their window world chantilly store i can assure you their service overall is really bad. perception is reality and the fact of the matter is this shouldnt be happening, not to ANY customer even ONE because that person could be you. and if you deal with these guys youre probably next. and the really sad part is that they dont care if youre having a problem cuz they fail to address any of your needs or concerns instead they get rude, defensive and outright confrontational, just read the comment above. its a commom theme and their dirty laundry list goes on and on horrible customer service, they dont return calls, work is shabby and poor, install crews are illegals, extra charges, delay and errors, leaky windows, the list just goes on
At least you were able to get someone to your house. First they would not return phone calls and then they blew off the appontment that thye made. Stay away from this ignorant and rude company. There are to many chioce to be treated like garbage by them
We recently had 40 windows installed by Window World of Greater Boston. The three men who installed the windows were courteous, respectful, and did a wonderful, quick and efficient job. I would recommend this company to any one.
after reading of problems will think long and hard about using them.
lousy installation
My wife and I had 2 windows installed from Window world about 4 years ago. The one in the kitchen was all right but the one in the living room is a disaster. The window came in way too small for the opening but they put it in anyway. They used small pieces of wood to hold the window in the opening. They then used probably 3 or 4 tubes of caulk to fill the gaps. This looks awful. The front of the window is capped with metal and you can stick your hand through and almost touch the inside of the house. I have made several calls but to no avail. They came once and said, "we can stick some insulation in there if you want". The other times I called, they said someone would be over but never showed up. Window World is a franchise, not a factory. They do not make their own product and hire outside people to do the installation. They are a shady, back alley type of company and not to be trusted. If you are in the market for windows, do your homework. Window World's window is nowhere near the quality of Champion hence the cheap price. I paid over $1, 000 for both of these windows and have hated them ever since. Window world sucks!
Yep, customer service is not impressive, installation is not good, and product is substandard. Shop around.
I had window world give me an estimate for a bay window but at 4500 I said no thanks. after hearing all the comments glad I said no
As a Class A General Contractor in Virginia Beach I would strongly not recommend Window World . I find there installers work to be sloppy and unprofessional and not caring. I have seen window installed into rotten framing on several occasions and there work to be incomplete. I am telling people this due to the fact that I as a contractor am tired see consumers rip-offed. I am not looking for business from anyone, I am tired of seeing companies advertise and take advantage of there costumers. Just because their name is on a NASCAR or Jill Ireland does a commercial does not mean they are responsible company.
DO NOT BUY FROM WINDOW WORLD OF TAMPA!
I am currently deployed in the Middle East and unfortunately my wife was alone with our two children while this company's "Certified" installers worked more like unskilled meth-heads.
First, the contractors they hired (which I was told the Window World did not use contractors and had a full time payroll crew) removed all of the windows of my home by shattering them INTO the house with only a cloth placed behind the window to catch the debris; this allowed shards of glass to scatter throughout rooms and eventually become embedded into the carpet which later cut my wife when she missed cleaning up some near our toilet!
They very sloppily threw the old windows into the back of their truck causing glass shards to drop and scatter all over the road when they left; which the neighbors complained to my wife and she had to sweep up later that night after the children went to sleep.
They left their caulking gun and a tube of caulk in my 5 year old daughter’s bed.
Then after their horrible remove/install experience it took days for them to fix one of their leaky windows, the main technician Mike came out to caulk the window which didn’t fix the problem so they sent out the contractors, Jim and Justin, and they has to reseal with a different caulk... they said the caulk didn’t seal properly. Of course we were placed into the waiting queue of other customers and was told that they were busy and we would have our problem addressed when they could get around to it as they had other installs to attend to (although they did come out first thing in the morning which was outstanding on their behalf!).
The sliding glass door was installed crooked and Mike had fixed by performing an adjustment of the rollers I believe. Now the sliding glass door is leaking even worse than the window did. Window World is closed for the weekend so my wife will have to bear the storm trying her best to keep the water from flooding our home…Thanks Window World!
Even though I was not there to witness the install, my neighbor is a licensed contractor and he informed me that he was watching the install in horror, saying that they looked like a bunch of amateurs and he couldn’t believe the methods they had used to remove the windows (shattering INTO the home) and how much of a mess was made when they left. Also, during the permit inspection the county inspector said he was only checking for anchoring, but told my wife that she should definitely have them come back out and fix it because it didn’t look good.
I wonder if I can pay another company to come out and fix my windows and have Window World foot the bill since they have been a major regret ever since the sales pitch was over and the install had begun. The salesman was very friendly and was great, although he did say that Window World had its own installers that were licensed, drug tested, and were employed by Window World which simply was not the case. My wife even asked the installers main technician and he said that he doesn’t drug test his guys. This is either a case of an uneducated salesman, a lying salesman, or perhaps a lying contractor. Either way my trust with this company is gone!
DON’T BUY FROM WINDOW WORLD OF TAMPA!
The Charlotte NC based franchise World of Windows company is more than shady, they are out right crooks. I paid a $1000 deposit for one door and two windows. They made many promises, on the day of installation they said none of it was in writing so they would not honor it. I halted installation immediately and asked for management to call me to work this out. They refused to return my calls so I took them to court and won. However since this is a franchised company of Windows World Inc NC, they sold the franchise to a new owner and are refusing to pay the court judgment. So I contacted the corporate office (Windows World Inc) and they said tuff luck. Do NOT let this company on your property, they are liars and thieves.
The W.W. franchise here in Atlanta, GA apparently went under & closed it's doors some time ago and we cannot get service for our windows. The glass is fogged up on 2 windows and there is air leakage on a few of them and we can't get anyone to help and rectify our problems!
We called the corporate office and were told to contact the manufacturer, AMI windows, after much to do, they finally sent someone to inspect our windows and the man told us they were improperly installed and that the warranty is void! The company, W.W. of Northeast GA, aparently had quite a reputation for not installing the windows the sold properly and that many throughout Atlanta were in the same boat! This company's warranty is obviously NOT worth the paper it is written on! BUYER BEWARE OF WINDOW WORLD is all we can say!
Window world has many issues. From their Promises that they do not keep, - to mismeasuring the windows. I had two houses one with 2 windows and one with three done in one day. The 2 windows did not fit the opening the windows were about 8 inches short for the opening. That did not matter they split the difference and nailed in the window and then stuck some insulation in the holes and covered it up.
They aslo say that if you are referred from a person that had their windows done, they will send that person a gift certificate to a resturant. I was referred and my person did not ever get a gift cert. I was sure to mention this person multiple times and he assured me that they would get it in the mail. After talking with my friend asking if they recieved anything and they did not, I called the company and spoke to the "owner" who promised to send it out. Still to this day about half a year later they still have not come through on their promise. In our contract they were to leave 2 window that they took out carefully behind but they ended up taking all of them. Now I have to buy more windows. The only reason I had them replaced was so I could have the solar glass on the south facing side of my house. I was going to reuse the good windows that were taken out in my garage but they took them and I have to buy new. I refuse to use Window world for the rest of my replacements and will be buying all my other windows through another company even if they cost more. Too bad for them I have over 52 windows to replace. The company does not stand to their word and their customer satisfaction is below poor. I spoke to the owner an and she is not polite nor true to her word. The company is awful and I would not ever tell anyone to get windows through window world.
Window World sucks big time, switch and bait pricing, salesman selling upgrades so they can make more commissions. Window World does not even make one of their windows, they all made by Alside which is a contractor grade product, the Low E glass has been around since the early seventies and it old technology and their "bait and switch" lowest grade window does not even qualify for the energy rebate. Call their Corporate office and ask them to take a tour of their manufacturing plan! Don't even exist.
How would you like to go to McDonalds and order an empty bun with nothing in it? Do you eat a la carte? if you do than u qualify to buy Window World "Plastic Window" as specified on their brochures and such. Remember a few years ago when you could buy a Yugo for $2300? So many people got ripped off and the Company was gone after selling disposable cars, same with disposable windows! Do your self a favor don't waiste your hard earned money with Window World, the testamonials here are true and the person that mention about the second comment (Michael) is correct that person more than likely works for Window World.
As far as the advertising about standing on the window, ask yourself a question " How many times are you going to stand on your window this year? secondly I will promess you that it is a gimmick, if you practice enough you can stand on any window if the weight is distibuted evenly. Cheap things always turn out to be expensive. Best thing is to go to a true Custom manufacturer that can build custom install service and finance like Pella, Champion Window even better, top notch product for equitable cost true lifetime warranty all belts and whistle included nice & easy no wonder their advertising campaign and reputation is best around. Good Luck

Being stood up three times and yelled at!
Complaint Rating:
On May 3, 2006 I had my windows replaced in my home by Window World, Odessa, Florida. After installation, I noticed two "scratches" on the inside of two of my sashes. When I called the company to let them know, Linda told me that this can sometimes happen, and they would order new sashes, which would take about 10 days. They said they would call and schedule a time to come out after the new sashes were in. I waited 14 days and then called, since I had not heard back. During that time I noticed that the caulking job was inferior and needed that to be redone. Finally I was scheduled an appointment or someone to come out on 06/08/2006. Well, no one showed. I got a call stating that they had ran behind in the first job of the day and would need to reschedule.
I understand things can happen, so the next appointment was made for the last week of June at 8:30, assuring me a first appointment of the day. Well, once again I waited and no one showed. I get a call for a need to reschedule. I felt, okay, I will give them three times without getting mad or upset. Things can happen.
My third appointment was for 07/11 and again no one showed. This time I decided to take it up with the corporate office, as this is just a franchise and the parent company should be able to resolve this. Well, a couple of days later I received a call from Linda again, stating that someone could come out on 07/15 at 9:00. I asked how was I to be sure that someone would be there, as I was to be the first appointment one other time and no one showed. She just glossed over that. She started trying to explain that maybe it had rained after my windows were installed and that is why the caulk failed. I said that they were installed in May and it did not rain here until June. After I said that, Linda screamed through the phone to me, "I AM NOT GOING TO ARGUE WITH YOU, ANGELA".
Infuriated, I hung up and called the corporate office and brought them up to date on the situation. They said that they would contact Linda to make sure that this would be done. They said that it is a franchise and basically, they have no control over them.
I could not believe that after spending over $8000 for windows and being stood up three times and being yelled at, I still received no apology from anyone. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They may talk a good game, but when it comes down to it, they do not deliver. As for that lifetime guarantee. Good luck. I am sure that I will never get anyone out to do anymore work if I need it.
Window World sucks. If you are OK with your purchase now just wait awhile. When, not if, they start having problems you will sing a different tune about the service and product. I purchased my overpriced under fitting windows from them and was counting on the fact that what I was being told was the truth because after all they are suppose to be the pro's..NOT! I have contacted the corporate office and now understand where the WE DON'T GIVE A CRAP attitude comes from. This company is built on thief's and liars.
I have to disagree, I have window world window's in my home and I have had GREAT ! customer service from our local dealer. I bought double hung Low E/Argon with full screens and paid $279.00 per window and the installer was quick and very clean. I think it depends on what kind of person you are, if you call your dealer and scream and call them liars and rant and rave then that might be the reason you are getting bad service. I am in a service oriented business, and if I have a customer that bad mouths me and calls me names I would most likely do the same thing and not give you the time of day. Much less take care of your problems. I am wondering why the guy that apparently paid $1000.00 for 2 windows even let the installers install a window that wasn't even close to fitting. It sounds bogus to me. Anyway I have been very pleased with my purchase of Window World windows. Another thing I will get the tax relief for the new windows set by the government because of Low E/ Argon windows on next years taxes. That is about a $700.00 savings, ...not bad.
Maybe in 2009. Not anymore.
terrible service
We hired Window World to install 4 windows for us. The old ones leaked so we asked the to send an installer with the sales guy to access the damage before they went to work. The refused, the sales guy said our kitchen window would be fine that we wouldn't lose any tile.
Long story short, they showed up with the wrong windows, then after thy got the right ones, we lost the tile around our kitchen window. They left sharp jagged grout and used 3/4 inch baseboard trim around the window! Looks like my 6 year old did it.
They said they would fix it but, this is the 3 day I have taken off work to get this window fiasco done and they never showed. When I called they wanted to reschedule again! Lesson learned... put down a deposit and only pay the balance when the work is done correctly! Once Window World had our money, they didn't care what happened with the job!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
window world is just a very dirty company to deal with. they claim oh it happens to 1 out of every 10 customers or its only a very few ppl who have these problems...but truth is its not just a few ppl its ALOT! and its not just isolated to one location or store its happening in ALL their stores/franchises. from my own experience in dealing with their window world chantilly store i can assure you their service overall is really bad. perception is reality and the fact of the matter is this shouldnt be happening, not to ANY customer even ONE because that person could be you. and if you deal with these guys youre probably next. and the really sad part is that they dont care if youre having a problem cuz they fail to address any of your needs or concerns instead they get rude, defensive and outright confrontational, just read the comment above. its a commom theme and their dirty laundry list goes on and on horrible customer service, they dont return calls, work is shabby and poor, install crews are illegals, extra charges, delay and errors, leaky windows, the list just goes on

window world is the suckest place my husband works for them and they treat their employes worse then the costomers they have to purchase thier own calk and trim and only make 10 dollars a window and they dont give a hist about anyone but them selves so i would not recomend them at all none stand for the little people call and ### stand for equal respect and rights
Sorry one more thought. If you got so much money you can get a laywer and do all that other crap just why in Gods good name were you so cheap you didnt get your on people to install the wonderful windows?
Dude get real here. First put yourself in the multimillion dollar zapatos these ### at WW ware. Just how in the heck, do you, sitting behind your desk, stand up for the hundreds of thousands of the loosly contracted drunken or drugged out pukes who make a buck putting these windows in for you? YOU DONT. YOU CANT. For Gods sake man get real? You wouldnt do it either! If you got a house big enough for 24 bloody windows what you whining about. Fix the alarm, lick your wounded pride and move on. If you really want to do something take the drunken/drugged out pukes who installed your 24 well made windows and get your coin back. Have I ask how the windows work? Really well I bet. You didnt whine about them at all just prattled on about the alarm. Anyway great windows arnt they. Yup I saw them on american chopper when they built a bike for WW...
