Sit ‘n Sleep Terrible

Today at Pasadena store I requested to exchange my two mattress bases. The Assistant Manager said he cannot help me at the store level and told me to call the customer service, or come again several days later when the manager is here. I stayed at the store and called the customer service number that he gave me. Customer services representative asked me which store I purchased it and I told him it was Pasadena. He then put my call on hold and called Pasadena store. The Pasadena store manager heard the phone rang, picked it up and IMMEDIATELY hanged up. I continued staying in the store and called the customer service number again. In the middle of my conversation with the customer services, the Assistant Manager without my consensus hijacked my call by grabbing my phone, talked to the customer rep. and told him to dismiss my request. I was totally SHOCKED! I don't deserved to be mistreated. It was not about whether the request was approved or not, but the way they treating and handling customers. I requested to exchange the bases but not the mattresses and ended up the customer service INFORMED me they were cancelling my whole order (2 mattress and 2 bases which have been delivered and worth $8000+) and scheduling a pick up. Ridiculous!

Recommendation: Avoid

Sit ‘n Sleep Precise mattress inspection/technogel mattress

We bought a tecnoGel mattress set (maybe about 5 years ago. Split California King adjustsable. We paid over $10,000 for the set with base. I thought it was the most comfortable mattress I have ever bought in over 50 years. Until about 5 years in, and it started to get so soft in the middle it gave me terrible backaches. Switched with my husband and same thing. Trouble even rolling over as hard to get any traction to move. Complained to Sit and Sleep and they said since it was under warranty, they would have an inspector come out.

First time, Precise Mattress Inspection missed the appointment; didn’t ever call or show up. In our 70s, it was very hard to get the mattress cover off.

Second time, same company refused to come out, saying they do an on-line inspection using your phone to take pictures, etc. How can you tell if it has degraded with pictures? Of course they said it didn’t sag enough in middle (pictures can’t show how soft the gel is in middle). You need to put your hand down on it to physically feel the difference. I’ve been going to the Dr. for my back pain so I say it is now a big problem

So I complained again and Sit and Sleep said they would send an inspector out again. Of course, it was again Precise Mattress Inspection and, again, they didn’t call or show up.

I researched Precise Mattress Inspection and read tons of complaints against them, including lots of scams. I complained to Sit and Sleep and they said there was nothing they could do.

Bottom line: Don’t buy from Sit and Sleep and never accept Precise Mattress Inspection if any other company wants to send them out. I hardly had any use from my very expensive mattress before having to throw it away. Bought s different mattress set from a different company for a lot less money. Since I never had to claim a warranty before, I hope my experience with Sit and Sleep is the last time I will ever have to do that again.

Desired outcome: They should do something because of this poor customer service. And quit using Precise Mattress inspection as I know they know about the scams and deceitful methods they use.

Not 1 comment and Sit and Sleep was worthless. Ended up throwing the tecnoGel in the garbage and bought a different mattress from a different company. Will NEVER BUY fromh Sit and Sleep again and tell my kids and friends to buy elsewhere.

My wife and I recently purchased a new bed (mattress and frame) from your store in Artesia, California. Our experience with David Smith was amazing. He was professional, personable, and was very knowledgeable about the company’s products and processes. After my wife and I realized we wanted to purchase a headboard, we returned to the same store hoping to...

Sit ‘n Sleep KOIL KING customer service at Sit and Sleep

Sit and Sleep Warning!

BE AWARE that the mattresses they sell you are only warranteed for the TOP. Our $2300 one year old mattress is ripped and falling apart in four places on the bottom. They tell you to turn them but they are very heavy and made of cheap material on the bottom so when you DO turn them the seams rip apart because of the very cheap material used on the bottom. It's very deceptive because they use quality on the top part.

When we went back to this store in SC the salesman tells you to contact customer service, but they DO not get back to you even after lodging a formal written complaint and given photos of the problem. The person handling complaints is rude and cuts you off and never returned our messages. We have waited for over a month with no return call. I wish we had spent the money and bought a two sided mattress somewhere else where quality matters.

Desired outcome: Give us a New mattress that isn't falling apart on the bottom.

Sit ‘n Sleep Delivery time

I've visited Brea location and purchased the Kingsdown Mattress on 9/7. I have also asked if I needed a bed box (foundation) for the mattress and they said I didn't need it. Therefore, I purchased only the mattress and it was delivered on 9/9. When it arrived, I placed the mattress on the bed frame and it didn't look right. So, I called the Brea location again on 9/9 and they said that I needed the bed box (foundation) for the mattress. Therefore, I told them to order one for me. They said in order for the delivery to occur on 9/10, that I would need to come in before 6pm on 9/9 for the delivery to occur on 9/10. Therefore, I had to cancel my appointment and went to the store to make the payment. I got there on 9/9 and made the payment and they confirmed the delivery is scheduled for 9/10 and that I will get a call between 6pm - 10pm with the time on 9/9.
I did not receive a call on 9/9 so I called the store on 9/10 at 10am and they said they will find out and call me right back. After waiting 2 hours, around 12pm I called again and they said they will find out and will call me back in 10 minutes. After waiting another 1 1/2 hours, I called again and they transferred me to the delivery department. Delivery department stated the delivery was scheduled for 9/11 and transferred me to the customer service, which later transferred me back to Brea location. At Brea location, they stated that Delivery Department screwed up that the delivery will then happen on 9/11 and nothing they can do.
I had to cancel two appointments and now another appointment for 9/11 for the delivery; once on 9/9 when they told me to come in to the store before 6pm to make the payment to schedule the delivery for 9/10; second on 9/10 to accept the delivery (which I've called 3 times and waiting 4+ hours and found out that the delivery will take place on 9/11); third on 9/11 which I now need to cancel because they said it is NOW scheduled for 9/11.
If they were honest with me from the beginning then I never needed to cancel my appointments and didn't need to go through all this.
Very disappointed with Brea location service.

Sit ‘n Sleep Mattress

Bought a mattress a year ago and it hard as a rock, I thought support was the way to go. I went back to sit n sleep and they said I had a 365 day exchange policy. The delivery crew has come 3x now and won't do the exchange. Also they don't wear masks, gloves, speak english, and their hands were all dirty. I inspected the mattress before they came (I also use 2 matress protectors) they took my matress to the truck and brought my new one in then they brought the old one back in and said it was stained and it was damp. Each time they come they find some other reason to not exchange the mattress. Customer service doesn't care and now I have a mattress that for all I know they did something to it in the truck the 1st time! I would have noticed a damp stain before they came. I'm so upset and now have no mattress I feel comfortable sleeping on. With covid i'm not even sure I want it in my house now. Beware of exchange scammm! I have no idea what they did once it was on the truck! Customer service is rude and dismissive. Now I have to go spend money in this economy for a new one

Sit ‘n Sleep mattress failure, warranty not honored

We purchased a Serenity king mattress from Sit and Sleep in Murrieta, CA in May 2016 order number [protected]. It failed the first month we had it, tried to return it and was convinced by the staff member there that it just needed to be broken in more. Finally we could stand it no longer as my husband and I have bad backs.

In December 2016 we had had enough and contacted the store manager . We had an inspection done and the mattress was deemed to be defective. We did an exchange for and PAID for a firmer mattress thinking that would eliminate future problems. The mattress was wonderful for 2 months, then began sagging and sagging and sagging. Now we are waking with back aches again.

I contacted the store manager, the THIRD since we made our initial purchase. I asked her for a refund so we could purchase a mattress elsewhere. She said to me "I will tell you what is NOT going to happen, We are NOT going to issue you a refund". She said we could look at other mattresses IF this mattress is inspected and deemed a failure. The Aireloom is supposed to be their BEST mattress so WHY WOULD WE WANT A LESSER QUALITY MATTRESS?

Again, an inspection was done. After not hearing from them after a reasonable time, I called and was told there would be NO EXCHANGE as the mattress was ONE HALF INCH under the fail requirements. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. WE PAID $3400 for a mattress WE CANNOT COMFORTABLY SLEEP ON.

Let me tell you that I purchased an Aireloom mattress because over 20 years ago I had purchased an Aireloom Rip Van Winkle mattress that had a 30 year warranty (at that time). We slept on it several years and it is in our guest room now. We have had extended guests over the last few years and it does not show even a slight impression. It looks the way it did when I bought it. THAT was a mattress worth the money I paid back then. THAT WAS WHEN AIRELOOM WAS A QUALITY MATTRESS.

The only thing I can say at this point is since Kluft bought out Aireloom the quality has gone straight down hill. I am disappointed and outraged at the prices they charge for sub standard junk.

I asked for A FULL REFUND. I was told "It is not going to happen..."So? Sit N Sleep keeps my money (that I am still paying on) and I am forced to buy another mattress I guess.

Sit ‘n Sleep Mattress

We just bought a mattress from Ali at Sit n Sleep Murrieta. The mattress in the store was perfect, but the one that was delivered was hard as a rock. I splurged on this mattress because i have a herniated disc in my neck and needed the best i could get. 2 years of physical therapy went down the tubes in one week one this thing. both my arms are numb and i am in constant pain. Ali stated a dozen times that he will guarantee the mattress. come to find out there is NO guarantee! i have the option to forfeit 20% of the cost to swap it for a new one, but no returns. He has NO idea what guarantee means! He stated that after 30 days it will be just as soft as the one in the store. NO WAY! it’s been almost 2 weeks and it’s not a bit softer. Now i have no choice but to sleep on an recliner, just to keep to pain manageable. DO NOT BUY A MATTRESS FROM THIS COMPANY, AND ESPECIALLY DO NOT TRUST ALI BELAGASEM. When i call to explain my predicament, he cut me off and said stop talking, you should have read your contract. The amount of paperwork was like buying a car. i unfortunately trust people, that's where i went wrong. CAUTION STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Sit ‘n Sleep Airloom mattress

I spent over $5000 on the top of the line organic mattress. Sit and Sleep sold it to me repeating over and over that it had a 20 year warrantee. When I purchased it all the salesman did was write on the receipt "20 year warrantee". I complained after several months because it sags a lot on my husbands side of the bed and there is a big lump in the middle of the bed. They sent out an "independent" person to measure the problem last year and they said it was not bad enough and I would have to wait a year. I did that and it is still not meeting their scale and this year they said my bed frame was faulty. It is the same heavy wooden frame I have had and it was not a problem when they saw it last year or when they delivered the mattress.
We are seniors and we cannot continue this game.

Sit ‘n Sleep Misrepresentation by salespeople

My wife and I purchased a bed at Sit 'n Sleep. As part of the deal, the salesperson insisted that we take a set of 600 thread count sheets and pillow cases and two expensive pillows as a gift. We later found that the invoice showed that we paid over $500 for those items. When we attempted to return the unopened and unused items, we were assured that these items were actually gifts and the price of them was deducted from the cost of the bed (over $2000). When we were told by a Sit 'n Sleep customer service person that they don't give away pillows and sheet sets and that we were paying for those items as indicated on the sales invoice. We then attempted to return the unwanted items again and they refused to allow us to do so. After much discussion, they agreed to credit us a total of $275. As this amount was better than nothing we took it but are far from satisfied.

Also, when one finances a purchase at Sit 'n Sleep, they open a credit card account at GE Credit Bank. (We were never informed that this was a credit card account and not a loan for the bed.) Even though we paid on time, they tacked on late charges EVERY MONTH. So each month for several months we had to call and have the late fee removed. Finally.we gave up and paid off the entire amount and closed the account.

The Sit 'n Sleep customer service personnel were rude and uncompromising. We attempted to discuss the matter with their public face and CEO, Larry Miller but were denied access to him every time. It is apparent that Sit 'n Sleep is a corrupt and unfair company.

Sit ‘n Sleep Bad Bed Company

We purchased a Bed and paid cash. Within a week we heard popping and other noises on my husbands side. Within a month we called about the noises and complained that as my husband would stand the Matress would " Pop out". Three months in, the bed did have a sag. We turned the bed to see if it would help. It did not. The next month we asked to return it. The company sent out a man who took "measurements" Of the bed. He never sat or lied down in the bed to see if the problem existed.( This was like saying I want to return the shoes I bought and they say the shoes look fine). The only way to know the problem is to lay in the bed. Of course he said we would get a letter and ruling on the return of our bed. Can you guess the answer to the ruling. We could not afford another bed so our backs are in pain until we can afford it. Their must be a better way to purchase a good bed.

I too have had a similar situation recently... the bed on my side was much softer than my wife's. they sent out a "technician" to check out the bed. And I never saw any results of the bed being within specs. My suggestion to everyone, use SLEEP TRAIN if you have one near you. they advertise MONEY BACK GAURANTEE... NO 20% RESTOCKING FEE. SHAME ON SIT N SLEEP. I GET DISGUSTED EVERYTIME I SEE THERE ADS. I emailed them. They never responded.

Sit ‘n Sleep Do not purchase your mattress from this location

I purchased a Serta Metropolitan mattress from the Store in Palmdale Lancaster California. My Sales person was Michael Robinson.

My first complaint is that they promised me a week out delivery from the date of purchase, which I had to take off work to be home for. I was notified the day of my delivery that the mattress was not put on their delivery truck. My sales person offered me a 200.00 refund for my inconvenience. I was satisfied at that point.

The next week’s delivery again did not show up as promised by sit n sleep this happened three weeks in a row. Each time I had to take time off work to sit and wait for them to come.. With last minute notices that my mattress wasn’t in the store for some off the wall excuse, by my Sales person.

I was promised this 200.00 refund and to this day still haven’t seen it hit my mail box. Almost a month into my check of 1986.00 clearing. As I speak to Michael I become more and more frustrated due to his babbling on with excuses instead of straight answers.

As we were purchasing this mattress, our sales person was also preoccupied with new customers and the phone then giving me his 100% attention for the 20 minutes it took to write up this invoice. I as well work with the public and was very unhappy with his customer service skills.

My last complaint is that I purchased a California King that is suppose to be 72x84 but the mattress that was delivered is 72x80. This I am taking up with corporate because it is not the size that I ordered and what is stated on my invoice. Not to mention I cant bear to hear Michael babble with anymore lame excuses for one more minute.

Do not purchase your mattress from this location.

My last comment: YOUR KILLIN ME LARRY! GET DECENT SALES PEOPLE.. WHO DONT BLOW SMOKE UP OTHER PEOPLES ###.

I went to Sit and Sleep in Tarzana california. I went in and was shown by Doc (Sales Person) some beds that might be good for my back comfort. He showed me a Airloom Bamboo Hybrid line. There were 3 different kinds in this line (Bamboo Hybrid). He showed me the one that was firm but had a memory foam top. It was firm and soft and supportive. He said that is the Windflower. We wrote it up and had it delivered. As the men were delivering it. Something seemed not right with it by looking at the top. I asked the men to please show me the tag on it, since they put the name tag to the back. He pulled out the mattress about a foot. And I saw a green tag that said Bamboo Hybrid. I said I guess this is it. And they left with my old mattress. I went back to the room and layed down on it and it was hard as a rock. But sice the tag said Bamboo Hybrid it must be right. I have phsical limitations right now or I would have pulled the be out and looked at the tag again. Two hours into sleeping on the bed that night I woke up with such hip pain, Burning pain. I panicked and soothed myself by saying I will call them in the mornig and pick a bed that could be delivered the next day. I called and spoke to Doc, and told him the bed was way to firm and caused me alot of pain. 4 hours total sleep and in crippling pain, he said no you have to sleep on it and give it a try for a minimum of 30 day's. I said what ? He said read it on your invoice, it's on your invoice. I said you never told me that. He said it's on your invoice. I said I would have never bought a bed with that kind of limitations. And repeated back to him I can NOT sleep on this bed. He kept saying Im sorry there is nothing I can do. It will fell better the longer you sleep on it. I said that is not an option for me. I asked if there was something we could do to help me. I also reminded him of my physical limits and that this bed would cripple me the longer I slept on it. He said if I brought in a note from my doctor (noterized !) he might consider it, in another 2 weeks. He said he might consider it ? At this point I am crying on the phone. Begging him. Nope, cant help me, he knows I will like the be if I sleep on it longer. He also said the manager can't help me eather, because it is policy 30 day's min, and YOU signed the reciept. He said go buy a mattress topper, that sould help. So my husband and I went to the mall. $300.00 this little one and half inch, mush with your fingers topper ! Left the mall thinkingwe better find a cheeper one or a better one.
Going back the bed we puchased was $1, 700.00. I had my eye on another one originaly and Doc talked me out of it because it was $900.00 more. and that the one I was picking was just as good I"LL GET BACK TO THAT IN A MINUTE. Well after the mall we drove past a LEED'S MATRESS STORE. My husband said let see if they have a a thick higher quilty topper. We talked to the sales person and told him our problem. Well he worked for Sit and Sleep for over 8 years and said... Thats crazy... you go back and tell Doc you are going to return that bed TODAY ! And that if he will not go to the manager and have them call corp. He said the reason Doc dod not want to return the bed ONE of cousre is the commition.. He cant earn commition off of a bed I upgrade for another. So he would end up with less of a commision if I switched to another bed any bed. TWO: Also, Sit and Sleep has a contract with Airloom Beds not to sell there bed's in Leed's stores. So Sit and Sleep has to fill a quata of Airloom beds sold to stay within there contract with Airloom for product limited disrtibution with any other retailer (LEED'S). THREE: Doc gets a bigger commition on selling me an Airloom bed. Meanwhile this sales person can not benifit by telling me this because I can not RETURN the bed to Sit and Sleep. I have to EXCHANGE it with another one of there beds. And ## FOUR IS comming. We talked to Doc face to facew and he was cold and and unhelpful. We talked to the manager and he said he would need and ok from corp. They did THANK GOD ! So we went looking at other beds. And went to the one we picked. It was not the same bed that was delivered ! They delivered the wrong bed. It gets better. The tag DOES NTO SAY WINDFLOWER ON IT. Just the line Bamboo Hybrid. We told the manager he spoke to Doc and he said no... we picked that be, the Windflower, since they are not named, we pointed felt, layed on one bed but Doc wrote it up as antother bed (WIndflower) Airlooms firmist and hardes bed it the line. And ALSO THE ONE THAT IS HARDEST TO SELL BECOUSE OF THE FEEL> Which brings an even HIGHER commition! That guy is something else.. THe manger said he had to believe his Doc and that it was our mistake. We are taking 2 totally different beds. The ultra rock hard bed (delivered) or the firm plush top we wanted . Manager said we still have to pay the extra $280.00 for the exchange period. We will be talking to corp the tomorrow and let you knwo what they say.

Sit ‘n Sleep We have been trying for almost 30 days to exchange our $4,000 mattress

If you buy from them ( Sit n Sleep ), make sure you get what you want. We have been trying for almost 30 days to exchange our $4, 000 mattress. The new mattress came today. They said they sent the best delivery team, , , HA! They bounced it off the tail gate of the truck, then punctured holes in it as the tried to get it up our stair case. They were very rough with it. When I told them I wanted to take pictures of the damage, they rushed the mattress out and almost had it loaded before I got back outside. The only thing that kept them at my location to deal with the issue was taking the keys out of the truck. An hour later, and several calls to multiple people (seems the supervisor that we were dealing with wasn't there, even though he promised me he'd be in all day). The old mattress is finally out of my house, they had to leave the mattress with the holes in it (wow, this time they got it up the stair with no problems, , , amazing). Now, Ive got to wait another 13 days to get this damaged mattress replaced, and out of our house. VERY CRAPPY CUSTOMER SERVICE! If you do need to speak with anyone there, contact Teresa at extension #1219, so far she has handled my issues the best. Don't deal with Frank, Leanne (ext #1218), or Shannon (ext #1217).

Sit ‘n Sleep We paid almost $2000.00 for a mattress that should have been sold at an outlet mall

In southern California there is a mattress company named “Sit-N-Sleep” which fills the airwaves with advertising. My wife and I bought a mattress from them after laying on dozens of mattresses in their store. When the mattress was delivered it was much softer than the one we tested in the store. Because “Sit-N-Sleep” had a “..return the mattress within two month return policy which included a 20% restocking fee, ” we continued to sleep on the mattress for a month.

After a month we returned to the store and contracted to trade up to a firmer mattress. The extra cost including the 20% restocking fee came to more than $600.00. Sit-N-Sleep said they would deliver the new mattress and pick up the old mattress in about a week.

A few days later we noticed some of the mattress tags were wrongly placed. At that point we realized the delivery guys had put the mattress on our bed up-side-down. When we turned the mattress over and laid down on it we noticed it was much firmer. We canceled the second delivery and pickup and Sit-N-Sleep said they would remit our credit card payment within 3 business days. Two weeks went by and nothing had been done. We are now disputing the payment with our credit card company.

It has now been more than two months and we discovered that the mattress was not put on our bed up-side-down. Now we suspect the entire mattress may be a reject poorly constructed. We paid almost $2000.00 for a mattress that should have been sold at an outlet mall.

Sit ‘n Sleep Warranty service

I bought a 2300 Chatom and Wells mattress from Sit and Sleep with a Mattress pad that would guarantee the mattress from any stains. The mattress has sunken in over the five years and I called for the warranty inspection to have it taken care of. I was told when we bought it that any problems within the ten years that they would replace the mattress. The company sent out some guy who took measurements and said I would be contacted about the warranty. Approximately five days latter I received a letter from Sit and Sleep that due to a Stain on the mattress the warranty is null and void. The mattress pad sold to us was to guarantee the mattress warranty and not allow any stains to the mattress. The stain is the sized of a Quarter on a Cal. King mattress because the mattress paid did not due it job. I am thinking of filing an action against Sit and Sleep and Chatom and Wells but it is hard to get the information on the warranty from the company. Does anyone have any experience with this that can help us? It is obvious that Sit and Sleep did not back up the warranty on the mattress paid that would have not voided the warranty and you would think that a small stain would void the warranty. Anyone out there thinking about buying one of these should take note.

We purchased two mattresses at Sit and Sleep and the nightmare started when they didn't deliver it. Then after taking delivery two weeks later the pillow top shifts and on the center of the bed a big lump. First of all, the customer service reps in Gardena are speak GHETTO and start out by saying, "How can we provide you with excellent service." Well, this company can't because they "DISHONEST." I don't get why they start out saying this, I just wish I'd never put foot in their stores. The CEO of this company or owner must be a total idiot and isn't paying attention to what is going on. He needs to pick up his head off the cement and hire a consulting firm or something that will increase quality assurance. Whatever you do, stay away from Sit and Sleep. Shop for your mattress elsewhere. This place is a HOAX!

We purchased a mattress and mattress pad from sit and sleep 5 years ago that came with a 10 year warranty on the mattress and a stain warranty from Phoenix mattress pad company. We had spilled some juice on the mattress that created a small stain and called Phoenix to have it cleaned. They sent a tech out and he made a poor attempt at cleaning the stain and left. We then called sit and sleep to report a large depression on one side of the mattress. They sent a 3rd party out and preformed a measurment on the mattress. The result was 1.25" depression which did not meet their 1.5" requirement to replace the mattress. I went to Sealy's web sight and downloaded the specs and procedure to measure the mattress. I measured over 2". Called Sit & Sleep and they sent the tech out again and he found the same as I did. HMMMMMMMM!. Now we have had Sit and Sleep out twice to replace the mattress and they refuse as they say they can see a stain. We have had numerous people look at the mattress and we can see no stain. They are trying to get out of replacing the mattress and hope we will give up. We are filing a claim in court to make them honor the warranty. Bad business. Do not do business with these people.

Just about the same experience with us. I finally gave up Andrew’s new mattresses from another company. They will take Sit N Sleeps mattresses and throw them away. Not worth half the money we paid and they don’t honor the warranties. Buy elsewhere.

I am having a problem with my mattress from Sit in Sleep as well. I have an E Collection Vitality that is less than a year old. The bottom of the mattress "tears" when we change the sheets. We had the "mattress inspector" come out and take pictures. A week later I called to see what was happening and was told that since the mattress has obvious tears in it that it is not covered under warranty. The customer service agent would not let me talk to a manager or give me the warranty company information. Her advice was to read the instructions on how to move the mattress correctly. I asked to return the mattress, she calmly said not allowed and then she hung up. I would not buy from Sit in Sleep or recommend any one to buy from them.

In southern California there is a mattress company named “Sit-N-Sleep” which fills the airwaves with advertising. Sit ‘n Sleep Scam

I purchased a high end Chattam & Wells mattress from SitNSleep on 7-29-06 with a 10 year non prorated warranty. The mattress is junk and has fallen apart internally. It was inspected and found to be defective and approved for replacement.

Sit N Sleep just issues a credit to come into the store and "BUY" another mattress. The credit is not enough to cover replacing the original mattress. So I am stuck with a bad mattress, unless I want to pay the difference to get the current priced mattress from them for another $2, 000.

I called Chattam & Wells, they are now owned by Spring Air. They said it is not a Mfg warranty direct, i have to go back to the original retailer where i purchased the set and negotiate with them. They just give the wholesale value of the mattress to the retailer for replacement.

So here I am, stock with a bad mattress and no warranty support. My back is hurts every night I sleep on this mattress. Sit n Sleep is not an honest and reliable company to do business with, I do not recommend them!

It is terrible the way businesses like Sit 'n Sleep treat people. And it looks like there is no protection for consumers. We need to change this.
I purchased a brand-new Silver Line Simmons Beautyrest St John Firm Luxury Pillowtop 5 days ago, March 5, 2017, at La Brea Store, and it was delivered on March 6. The delivery people covered it with mattress protector and took away my old mattress. The new mattress felt NOTHING like the same mattresses at stores (I've been to 3 stores to try this particular mattress). But that was NOT the worst thing about it. From the first night I've been waking up with back pain and by 5:am on March 10 it was excruciating. I removed the cover and discovered that the mattress top fabric was all stretched and wrinkled. I am 5'5" and 130 lb and I have been rolling to the center of the bed involuntarily as there is an area that sinks in with no support whatsoever. It is clear that the mattress has either been used and re-upholstered in a very sloppy way, or it is defective which is less likely as the "sinking hole" is exactly where the middle of my back is when in the center of the bed, and it does not have sharp edges, the mattress gradually gets weaker toward the center of it, just like it would after extensive use by a heavy person.

I called the store asking them to exchange the mattress for the same, but new, and they refused. They now want to send an "expert" to evaluate my mattress. I checked these "Experts" out and they are saying that the mattress should sag more than by 1 1/2" to qualify for an exchange. This is ridiculous, the mattress is clearly damaged and not the same as in the store.

I would add, Precise Mattress Inspection has "contracts" with most all major brands, stores, manufactures to inspect mattresses for "defects" I can say on more than several occasions that the owners Randy and Dwayne forced me and others to find something wrong with a mattress in order to replace it for a friend of a friend, under duress and other times they forced us to meet quotas saying, if we don't stop finding problems with mattresses we would as employees be forced to pay for them. Certain customers would have real defects that any person could see but because of their way of "inspecting" the mattress would be found to not have a defect and the warranty would be not honored in many cases for several times. The customer could not request a new inspection for 30 days, and this went on for 2-3 months or more. I felt i had to quit this position because of the blatant lies and harassment by both Dwayne Murphy and Randy Schmidt.

Precise Mattress Inspection, Not such a dream job or company to work for.

Integrity, no, customer service, no... What I got when I worked for them was harrassment and threates.
I quit this job because I recieved threats if I would not be partial to certain clients over others.

On several occations I was told to approve a mattress for replacement (refrerred to as a defect) for a customer who's mattress was not really defected, but because the customer was friends with the owners or other managment or owners of mattress stores or someone in manufacturing, they foreced inspectors to lie on inspection forms, if we asked questions we could lose our jobs.

On other occations, the owners woudl falsify their own inspection forms for the same reasons, and on at least two occations one of the owners would indicate they were in a city and state doing an inspection, but have the same date of another inspection in another city and state.

On several occations I found the owners inspection reports to be misleading and not in accordance with their own training of inspectors. Poor quality photos, unable to tell if mattress was truely defective or not.

On at least one occation inspectors were forced to not find defects after a certain quota otherwise we would have to pay for the mattresses out of our own pockets.

Still yet, I was told I would be working in a certain geographical area and later was told I had to drive hundreds of miles to do one inspection, costing me wear and tear on my vehicle and gas out of pocket, and they owners would get angry if you spent to much on gas and only give you a gas card which sometimes worked. Other cost we had to pay out of our pockets.

All in all I had to quit this job because of the threats and false claims they forced employees to make on reports and favortism they played. Not exactly integrity and service and deffinatley NOT a Dream Job.

Let me say this as gently as possible...KINGSDOWN IS A PIECE OF CRAP! These mattresses should be placed in prisons for torturing criminals. We spent $3, 800 for our mattress set, which was suppose to be of superior quality and comfort. The first night was awful we thought maybe it was due to the change in a new mattress, so we tried another SLEEPLESS NIGHT on KINGSDOWN 800 and that was it. This mattress is like sleeping in quicksand. It is not comfortable at all, completely uneven. One sinks on the sides and the middle is much higher. Don't even try sitting in bed to read a book/paper, because your butt just sinks in an endless pit of foam and within minutes your back is on fire with pain. There is no support and I only weigh 125 pounds. Lucky we have another room with a confortable mattress to sleep on while we communicated with the store. We were able to get an exchange. The manager of the store said there were some mattresses that were mis-labeled and we must have received one? Interesting, I thought...Well we decided to go to the store and re-try the mattresses. The one we had orginally selected did NOT feel anything like the one we received. We decided to go with the lowest layer of foam on the top, the KINGSDOWN 600 range. It felt pretty good in the store, firmer than we wanted, but after the previous one, we thought firmer would be better. So here we go again. The new matress arrives, we are thrilled AFTER waiting a couple of weeks. The mattress felt firmer than the first one, but not as firm as the one in the store. I started having lower back pain within the first week. The second week I could no longer take my morning walks, because I am in so much pain. Even Motrin did not help. The middle of the week, I had so much pain one evening from my lower back to my thighs that I went to the guest room at midnight. I slept like a baby. I really thought if I selpt on the Kingsdown mattress one more night that I could suffer a serious injury to my back. I have not slept on their mattress since and have totalling recovered. NOW we have notified the store. I do think KINGSDOWN is an inferior product and we will see if SIT & SLEEP is a reputable store. In the meantime stay away from this product. I do not know why any store that has a concern about their future consumer base would carry this line of product. Think their management should view all the COMPLAINTS on Kingsdown, they are alarming! This is not a cheap product. Believe me all these customers who do not get fair treatment will not forget where they purchased their matress and will be certain to communicate the treatment level they received to their friends and family. ca.consumer

I bought a queen size Spring Air Beverly Back supporter from Beds Etc. Sales person was like honey dripping from a hive. She told me how great Spring Air was and has been in bussnis like forever. Later I found out that to be untrue after the fact. The Spring Air license is owned by Pleasant Mattress aka Cannon. Beds Etc. delivered the new queen set and it was defective at the time they dropped it off. The rough delivery men beat up the paint in my home. I had them take a picture of the defects on their phone and call their supervisor Lori. She arrange to have a new set delivered with a lower 5 inch profile foundation. On the second delivery, the guys were really gruff and I felt so intimidated. I asked for a copy of what they had me sign. They said they don't provide one. Odd, wouldn't a person think? They left, thank God! The original set delivered in the first place had a mattress tag dated 10-15-15. I bought the bed 11-11-15. When I went to make the bed I noticed that the bedding was way to big. It was then I found out that the bed and 4- inch profile foundation were dated 8-18-15. The bag that they brought the second set had holes in the sides about the size of platters. The mattress was dingy looking and flat as a pancake. I sat on it and it felt like cans and slinky toys and I sunk to the foundation. So what is up with this one might think. Oh, it was someone else returned bed. To top that off it was a Prototype. It was not the bed I bought on 11-11-15. I am not a well person and well into age. After many calls and communication's to customer service, which by the way, like my concerns were going into the Black Hole in outer space. Finally Lori called me back after Thanksgiving Holiday. She said this was the last time she would exchange the mattress only with that of the returned first bed. I agreed as I wanted this disaster over and done with. The third delivery went from bad to tragic. I won't get into details but, I again was delivered a used broken down stinky bed, like that of wet dog. I didn't pay much attention during the delivery as the guys wanted me out of the room. I locked my doors after they left. I went to examine the bed and the tag was 8-18-15. I thought my grey hair was going to catch on fire. I called Beds Etc. so many times and finally made contact with Lori and she screamed at me calling me a LIAR. They only have new beds on the truck. Odd I thought as where did they put the old beds that they remove from the homes. I am glad that I didn't get Bed Bug infestation. As the last two mattress were not sealed on the sides. I still have the bed hammock which causes so much pain. To this day the company ( Lori ) said we are done. She did offer to exchange the top mattress for another $100 or so $$$. If anything not one more cent from me. They should just deliver what I bought and paid for and some extras for my anguish after almost a year of my trying to have this issue resolved. Dealing with Pleasant Mattress in Fresno, CA was just as frustrating even from the beginning.
This really seems to be such a bait and switched scam industry So to all out there BEWARE, BEWARE and BEWARE.
Oh, by the way Sit and Sleep is in close proximity to Beds Etc. in Studio City, CA

We need to get in touch and to nail these Swindlers. They designed their exchange policy in such a way that they can screw everyone over with NO effort whatsoever. I plan to contact the investigative Reports TV, local news programs, police department, BBB, etc. My name is OLGA and I am in LA. Here is my email: olgatruthseeker@gmail.com And here is my story briefly ...

This is going on in Gardena, Sit 'n Sleep Headquarters, they have a shop there - isn't this horrible?

We are having the same problem.. I have been on many websites with a lot of people complaining about the same stupid policies with so called stains and rejecting the claim.. Our mattress at deepest point is 2 1/2 inches sagging. My husband does not even sleep in bed anymore, and I have to sleep sideways, and still wake up ready to see a chiropractor & massage therapist. This is EVERY morning ! We spent 2 k on this bed & them telling us it would last at least the term of the warranty 15 years ! BULL CRAP !
The inspector that came was very nice, but he is just doing a job, nevertheless, they give you the run around, and besides what does a stain or discoloration have to do with a defective mattress?
I am so sick of this... 2 k should buy you more than 2-3 years on a matress, , ,

We are having a similar scenario with Sit N' Sleep. We bought a very expensive bed there in 7/07, nearly $3, 000, along with a pad protector for $150 that they said must be purchased at the same time as the bed, and that if there is a stain--which would void the warranty--then the pad company would be responsible to replace the bed. When they first delivered the bed, it had a flaw in the cover, it looked like a stain or dirt, so we rejected the mattress based on that, and they sent a new one. We put the pad on and never have it off the bed. About 8 months or so into the life of the bed, it started to sag pretty badly. A few months later we called Sit N Sleep, and they don't even want to talk to you, they just shuttle you to Precise Measurement Co. an "independent 3rd Party" company that comes out to inspect the mattress. Well, they came and the result was that the indentations "were within manufacturer's expectations" so the claim was rejected. We just had them come out again this month, because the bed has just been getting worse and worse, and we both have back pain from it. The same guy came to inspect. He said the indentations were "more than 1 1/2 inches, what their limit is". But he said he saw a stain on the mattress, which is so faint as to be hardly visible, and looks more like an anomalous variationin the fabric. The result was that not only was the claim rejected, but the warranty was voided now. Oh, and in the report he turned in, he gave the indentation measurement as only 1 inch. When I told Sit N Sleep that the guy told us it was more than 1 1/2 inches the rep said "They are not supposed to discuss that kind of thing, and besides, that is only heresay". (Need I remind her that their whole position is based on the same kind of "heresay"?). The suggested I go after the protective pad people, but when I called them they said they will replace the pad and then test the old pad to see if it failed, and how, and that this "ends the warranty claim for the product". So even if the pad failed, it will not help to replace the mattress, which the inspection company says is within guidelines anyway. So this is a total racket! I called Sit N Sleep back and requested more detailed copies of the inspection reports, which mention the measurements they took. They do not send you these automatically, just the rejection letter comes but no measurements, so you have to ask for that. Also, the measurement from the first year was 1 inch, so isn't that interesting? The bed sagged an inch the first year, but not another speck for the whole next year? I think there is going to be some legal action in the future. This was my 4th bed from Sit N Sleep, and I will never, ever buy another product from them. They show no customer support or loyalty, and all of this warranty and inspection routine is a total in-house scam: Precise Measurement gets paid by the bed manufacturers, so how "precise" is their work going to be?

My fiancé and I just perched a new bed from Sit N’ Sleep in the City of Industry CA right off the 60 freeway. This bed was perched on Feb 15, 2009 two months later the side of the bed collapsed and slumps at the edge. We called Sit N’ Sleep and they had a few people come out to our home to see it. A week later they called to tell us we would be getting a new bed. A week later two men come to take our bed away. The Sit N’ Sleep movers said they found a spot on the bed. Now they will not take the bed back. You can not even see this so called stain. I will NEVER NEVER In my life buy another bed from Sit N’ Sleep.

all manufacturers of beds do that in a warranty situation. In Non prorated you get the full value back via the retailer to either get a straight exchange or a reselection at the same value. Anything above that value you have to pay for. It's not just sit'n'sleep. Be thankful its not pro-rated or you'd only be getting a portion of that money back towards new.

Sit ‘n Sleep Toxic mattresses

I bought an expensive simmons mattress from sit and sleep one week later I have developed severe rashes, I have had to see a dermatologist he thinks it might be an allergy to fleas or ticks, I read an article that says there is an epidemic or bed bugs so I went out and bought a tarp to cover my mattress, just to test it and see if there are any differences in my rash, guess what all this time I have been sick with this damn rash, is because my bed is toxic, they are not cooperating with me so far, and if necessary I will seek the help of a personal injury attorney.

I recently purchased a Tempur-Pedic mattress from SitAndSleep in Stevenson Ranch, CA. Took ill immediately, moved the mattress out in my garage and am now slowing healing from dizzyness, severe headaches and coughing. The mattress will be properly disposed of.

Never again will I purchase a major brand mattress, but will look for the organic alternative. I was not informed at the store that the mattress needed off-gassing before using it.

I am now on a major campaign to inform the public about the latest Guinea pig experiment on an unsuspecting America public. Just knowing what's in mattresses today is enough for me never to purchase another one again. It was a costly mistake, but by learning the truth it may have saved my life.
