the way they do business in general
I needed an answer. I was prompted $5 to continue. No where in clear language did it state that another $23 Would be taken without my approval for the person answering my question. I made sure not to click on anything that stated "free trial" thinking, in the end, I'd only be charged $5. The $23 was not stated clearly enough for consumers to understand. This website then tried to charge another $28 for some other unknown reason, but my pre-paid card denied it thank God! This website needs to change the shady way it does business. Another thing is the fact that the "customer service" employees can barely speak English. I think she said I was getting a refund, but I could barely understand her poor English.

I was forced to use your service when I had problems with my computer. I paid you $31 for that service. I did not agree to join your organization. I was charged for the membership this morning and I want my $46.00 back. In addition I am not going to pay you for this service. Just refund my money and cancel my debit card in your system and cancel any membership to your organization.

I joined under a 7 day trial period.I asked a question about my boiler, paid £5 and then waited and waited for a response.i messaged your expert on numerous occasions and was promised a response within a timeline.The timescales involved were never met.I was continually requesting some feedback all to no avail.
I did message that night saying how disappointed I was and that I wouldn't be joining or using you again.i now find that on 5th October you have now taken £25 from my account.if this is how your business model works then I would suggest that it is not very ethical.
I am not paying for a service that I did not receive.i have again logged on to your website and cancelled my membership.i have also requested that you refund the £25 again with immediate effect.
I note looking at various trust pilot websites for website scams that your website has been mentioned on numerous occasions.

taking money without authorisation from my bank
I signed up to JustAnswer a few weeks ago and asked a question. I got a pretty useless answer. The deal was that you could cancel membership after 5 days, which I did. I have now discovered that JustAnswer has taken over £30 from my bank account. I have tried to follow their website instructions to check whether they did cancel my account, as I had thought I had done, but there is no way of doing so. So I have been scammed by JustAnswer for over £30. And I cannot find any way (a) to get my money back and (b) ensure they will cease and desist from raiding my bank account.
Thanks. To be fair, the matter has been resolved and apparently my money is being returned. But I would never have noticed the deduction unless I had checked my bank account quite carefully.
unauthorized credit card charges
i submitted a quesion to "just answer" and they connected me to someone else without telling me i had to pay for it. All it said was i had to give my credit card number for a fully refundable $5.00 deposit. It gave another option for a $35 call to the mechanic which i declined. I noticed it charged me for the $35 anyways, but I let it go giving them the benefit of the doubt (maybe i missed a detail, not the end of the world its $35). Now i see a pending transaction on my credit card from "just answer" for an additional $55.00 which i definitely did not consent to. Had i known I would have had to pay for their services i never would have considered using them, as it would cost me less to call a few of my friends who are all mechanics, or just straight up taken my car to the shop instead. I used the site merely out of curiosity, to try to research the symptoms of my car online, and now somehow im ending up paying $95 for something I pretty much knew the answer to already.

I paid for an answer to my problem with Internet America Airmail. I could not get on because I cannot remember the old password. I have tried over and over. I paid the company to find an answer and one was not found but later I received a text telling me that they would work further but for another $47.00. I cannot afford this and am missing many very important emails. I would like a total refund of every dollar I paid in order to get help, of which I received none

Although they have refunded me with 30 pounds paid for a service, I did not receive in a proper manner, they refunded to my bank card registered on the website, but this card and the account had been closed by the bank and the funds are now nowhere.The justanswer keep telling me that their payment processor shows successfully refunded and the funds has gone to the bank...on other side the bank tells me that the funds will bounce back to the sender, as there is no more bank account where the funds to arrive in...
This happens since more than a month and the issue isn't resolved at all.The bank advised me to ask the sender to check with their bank to do a full trace of the funds, but they are refusing simply because they rely on their payment processor only...

The service is suppose to be one-time not a monthly subscription.

I was following a link from ms. Help as after their latest update install my desktop icons failed to load. It led to your web page which contained the ms acceptance icon so opened the page, paid the $5 asked for you to guarantee success of fix. On thay fee going through a page came up asking for $48 so I clicked out as appeared a phony to me as know m/s direct will help me as occurred when update was put on my comp.

Was charged 3 times totalling $120.00 for 10 minute chatbox with technician. I needed advice for recently repaired smart tv. I went to Samsung site and was mysteriously transferred to Just answer. They required a charge of $5, No info said that I would be charged further. I thought this was a site run by Samsung
They have since made 4 deductions from my card which has since been cancelled because of this scam

Yesterday 21 September 2018 I was connected through Iprimus to Just Answer because I had a problem with password. I switched off as it was only a password problem which Primus should have answered themselves. I was told there would be a $5 charge which would be refunded if the problem wasn't solved. The $5 has been refunded but I have been billed twice on my credit card for $54.00 and $55.77. Reference [protected].

I have unauthorized charges on my CC. I used the service on 9/04 and 9/06. The charge of 5 and 14 dollars were authorized. Another charge of 29 was made on 9/13 that was unauthorized. I want a refund asap and take my CC of your file. I tried to cancel it but your site would not let me... Isn't this committing CC fraud!? My question was answered by Dr. Altman and no where can I find a customer number.

I was transferred to Just Answer by a support team member from Gmail. I was asked for a refundable $5 deposit (7th September) but after paying this i found it was a lead in to taking another $73 (taken from my visa account on 10th September) which I refused to do. I cancelled my account and didn't respond to the "expert"
1. I want to be reassured that no more unauthorised money will be taken out of my visa account now that you have my account details
2. I didn't receive any advice
3. It was an extremely underhand system of extracting a further payment without prior clearly explaining what the "advice" entailed.
4. The mechanism for complaining to Just answer directly is difficult to access. I was asked for a further $5 and even more money from a lawyer / expert for information on making a complaint.

On checking my debit card statement I notice you have charged me $48 on 4/7/18. This was on top of the $5 deposit debited on 1/7/18.
As I do not recall receiving a satisfactory answer I am surprised that this amount was charged when I expected a refund of my deposit.
If I recall, I advised you of not being satisified at the time. Perhaps the answer to my question was the information was notavailable.
I would expect a refund of the amounts debited please.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I don't think so.

i paid a $5 fee and now my bank statement shows an additional charge of $98, which i did not know about.

customer: we had an investment loan with me bank for $430, 000.00. we sold our residential home in sydney and moved inot the investment property which is now our residential home. we funds available to pay out the investment loan within days of settling on the sale of oursydney home. i contacted me bank with the intention of paying out the investment loan so as to avoid any additional instalments and save on interest costs and payments. they initially told me i could go to my bank (anz) and perform a bank transfer. it happened to be a bank holiday on that day so it did not happen. when i again contacted them, they advise that as it was a fixed interest loan i had to complete a "break" application which took a few days to process. they then sent me a discharge authority which took another 5 days to process. i incurred an additional interest payment of around $1700.00. this could have been avoided with a different system. is there somw way by which i can recover some costs.

unfortunately no you cannot recover the interest you paid.
if you had intended to do this your solicitor acting on the sale should have requested the discharge of the loan and settled it at the same time as the settlement.
alternatively you could have paid the money into the mortgage on the investment loan and reduce it and only paid interest on the balance.
then discharged it and paid less break fee as it is based on the amount owing.
the banks have no duty to tell you this and they cannot be liable for not telling you.
have you now discharged the loan and finalised it?
