Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Quora handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Quora and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Quora They allow their moderators to block people without giving a reason, even when you have proof that you did not do

They allow their moderators to block people without giving a reason, even when you have proof that you did not do anything wrong. The moderators can hide behind their moderator title. On Friday, September 3rd, someone, possibly a moderator using a fake account, edited a question I posted. Then, a moderator blocked me because of this edit, which I did not make. I provided proof, but it was not acknowledged, and my appeal was denied. Additionally, the moderator deleted the question in an attempt to cover it up. I have pictures of everything, and I will upload them. So, I was blocked for the entire holiday weekend for something I did not do, simply because this moderator does not like me. However, Quora protects them, and there is no transparency in any of this. So, I appealed again by email. Due to the holiday, I did not receive a response until Tuesday. I was blocked for no reason other than the moderators' dislike of me. Finally, I was unblocked, but then at 5:00 am on Friday morning, I was blocked again without any reasons given, except that I violated rules. When I asked which rules I violated and for evidence of these violations, there was no response. I emailed and asked again, but still received no response. From my perspective, it seems like the moderator found out I was unblocked and blocked me again without providing any reasons or evidence of rule violations. So, it appears to be a personal issue to get me blocked, and when I contacted the office, they took the moderator's side without providing any proof of the alleged violations. They only provided a list of rules that may have been violated, and the moderator's name was mentioned. The handling of this situation lacked transparency, and despite multiple requests, no proof was provided. This demonstrates that they have no valid reason to block me, and it seems like this moderator is unfairly targeting me. When there is no transparency and no evidence of any violations provided, this would be considered unfair treatment, and it would be illegal if it happened in any other business.

Quora Inaccurate information and Poor Moderation

I started writing physics answers on Quora because I went to college for it and love discussing it. I found so many highly inaccurate answers on the site. For example, I wrote an answer on length contraction and included John Bell's Spaceship Paradox as support for my answer as well as other sources. Out of about 30 answers to the question only two were correct and they were not the most upvoted. I wrote to many of the highest upvoted answers and explained why their answer was incorrect and included sources to back everything up. Many of them got defensive and/or deleted my comments. Answer writers can delete comments in Quora and the main Quora feed only shows the one answer on a particular topic so many casual Quora readers will think the answer is factual. Answers are pretty much deemed "correct" by massed upvoting which is not how science or any discussion of topics where facts and logic can be used should be judged. One person did try to fix their answer but I went back to it about a dozen times and it was still wrong for yet a different reason. The person had an ideological belief on how Relativity "should work" and kept wanting to incorporate it into his answer. If people can become ideological on something as well-tested and as hard science as Special Relativity even in the face of overwhelming evidence and their answer is still massively upvoted there's a problem.

I saw another answer by an American hating European who stated UK houses are smaller than US houses because it's colder in the UK than the US. This answer had 2,600 upvotes and had dozens of other easy to verify false statements. There are many areas where statements could be debated as information may be incomplete or many different reasonings may have support (politics or economics for example) but saying UK houses are smaller than US houses because of heating is so ridiculously wrong. It only takes one person legitimately disputing a statement to falsify it. Voting by mob rule is very wrong as the mob on average is not an expert. Many laypersons just upvote answers because they sound good to them.

Answers with too many down votes get hidden from most people's view. Well-written answers are all too often down voted. People often upvote the answers knowing they're wrong. I pointed out factually wrong information on some answers and the person's thousand of followers attacked me with nonsense. They never addressed anything I said directly and mostly did ad hominem attacks. The worst one was the anti-American writer I mentioned earlier (I honestly thought they did not understand but later found out they were knowingly lying). This writer only cares about spreading anti-American propaganda. Too many writers seek upvotes and likes above everything else. Moderators do not care (if anything they are also pushing for views and upvotes).

The Be Kind Be Respectful guideline and other moderation guidelines are highly subjective. I've had moderators take down comments I've written when I included facts backing up everything I said and attacked no one. "Kindness" is very subjective. It's not "kind" to burst someone's ideological bubble by posting a countering view. Most people are able to rationalize views they hate as "unkind." The human ability to rationalize always amazes me. Someone says A and another person rationalizes they said B. Quora policy and the non-transparent nature of moderation makes it all too easy for moderators to rationalize the deletion of any content they don't like. History has shown us that anyone with the power to censor abuses that power. Only a very strong and transparent policy is capable of stopping rampant moderator abuse. Quora does not have this.

People who become moderators believe in moderating speech. Those who believe in moderating speech the most value "kindness" and "compassion" above "logic" and "reasoning." Those who believe in free speech and open debate the most are unlikely to become moderators. They feel it's their duty to stamp out all "hurtful" content. Except any debate or search for factual information will likely hurt people's feelings. Someone getting an F on a physics test is "hurtful" to the student but if the student legitimately gets the answers wrong then that's simply reality. I see Quora Moderators deleting content heavily based on ideological grounds. The content simply upsets the readers of the space (Quora is broken into different spaces for different topics). Different spaces in Quora also have different moderators and they use inconsistent moderation. All of this makes Quora overall somewhat left leaning but individual spaces become echo chambers that match the ideological leaning of the moderators of the space.

If you upvote content from a certain user or space Quora sends you more of that type of content. It makes everyone's feed into an echo chamber where many of the writers are actively seeking to push an ideological agenda and people directly countering the answers are suppressed.

I've had responses taken down by moderation and no reasoning is given (I've never had a reason given nor was I ever suspended from Quora). I do an appeal and give a lengthy reason why the content does not violate any guidelines and they almost always put it back up. I've had this happen dozens of times. The content is usually then flagged again a few days or week later and I defend it again. Generally, the moderators eventually decide to remove it for NO REASON given. I understand that bots and users can flag content but how does a moderator review the content and restore it multiple times but then eventually take it down? That's a human moderator doing that. It's also inescapable that moderators follow bias because of how different moderation is between the different spaces.

Moderating is bad, ideologically driven, and there is so much factually incorrect information on Quora to make it toxic to the general populace. It's most aptly described as a propaganda machine. People often like it because Quora is designed to get users to come back so they push content matching your ideology and likes/dislikes. It purposefully makes toxic echo chambers to maximize profit. However, if you're a user who digs deeper than their main Quora feed (I always read every single answer and comment on a question before upvoting so I never relied on Quora spoon feeding me) you'll quickly figure out how bad Quora is.

Google pushes Quora answers in its search engine and people often take Quora answers as fact. I tried working inside the Quora site to make it better but I can't do that anymore.

Quora Another Facebook style anti-social media platform masquerading as something better

Quora provides a Q&A format to exploit users for their own financial gain. The more views an answer to a question generates, the more revenue it will attract in the form of advertising.

Sadly, this is similar to what Facebook started out as... until it gained enough mainstream support to attract anti-social, mostly extreme right-wing, trolls, whose goal was to spread mindless hate and misinformation... for the express purpose of silencing those who disagreed with them and, ultimately, destroying that platform.

Quora has simply repeated what Facebook did, and still does. Quora has its own rules and 'Community Standards' by which users must abide. It has 'moderators' who will limit free speech by applying some from of regulation, such as 'respect' and not misusing it to spread idiot hate, make threats, harm others, or use their 'free' speech to deny others the same right.

Now, it claims to do this, and is compelled to do so by some very thin laws that struggle to keep up with technology. The fact that social media and IT is over a decade old now tells you all you need to know about how out of touch, incompetent and or corrupt certain politicians and law makers are.

And this is where the problems begin. Trolls are not isolated from society, lurking in the basements of their mothers and appearing only in social media to inflict themselves on others. Many of them have jobs. And they take their sociopathic, psychotic personalities with them, unleashing it wherever they think they can get away with it.

You may start to see now why social media is popular. Victims of people like that can share experiences where they have encounters such toxic humans. Domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, and even at the hands of the so-called help that turns out to be secondary abusers, such as police, child protection staff, so-called advocates, lawyers, politicians, and so forth.

Obviously, if a victim finds others like them, and they form help-groups, this not only risks denying an offender their victim or hunting ground, but also risks movements that force politicians to adopt and enact positive change to end such toxic cultures. That's why trolls gather to attack others on social media. To disrupt and end that, and the only way they can feel good about themselves is by making others suffer.

This is where Quora, like Facebook, lost its way. Quora discovered they could generate more views and content by encouraging toxic behavior - by escalating conflict. This generates more revenue. As a result, many of the questions and answers are examples of some of the most vile, festering socio-cultural behavior you are ever likely to witness. And why people of all ages should avoid it.

You find trolls almost everywhere, no matter the original topic. Racists, misogynists, homophobes, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, extremists from the political left and (mostly) right, unhinged conspiracy theorists, and almost every other stripe of over-privileged, ill-educated and mentally unhinged freelance bigot.

And they post those views with the express purpose of causing anger, hate, harm and silencing everyone who dares challenge them. Good thing for the moderators, right? Nope. The moderators appear to use an automated system to 'assess' any reports. It seems to be a coin toss. As a result, offensive posts that violate the rules remain as often as they are removed.

Worse, after a complaint has been rejected, it appears that content is immune to any further efforts to lodge a complaint. From anyone. You can always block trolls yourself, or delete or disable comments on your own answers, providing the answer isn't controlled by a group controlling the question. But the trolls have figured out a way around this, and how to weaponize the reporting system.

First, they can simply report an answer or comment and let the fifty-fifty automate moderator system deal with it. If it remains, they can share the answer and add a nasty, toxic, often personal attack as an into to what is shared. And in so doing, they can control the responses. And then weaponize the system against their victim if the victim responds in kind.

This occurs most often when a troll disagrees with what someone says, even if the question asked for an opinion based answer. Unable to use coercive control tactics to bully the target into recanting their own views, and remaining silent, the troll will simply report the answer and tag it as spam, racism, or whatever. Despite the fact that none of that is present. Moderators don't actually bother to read the reported content. They simply toss that coin.

One of the most stunning incidents of this involved a victim simply sharing the share and quoting back at the troll what the troll said in their share intro. They did it after the troll comment was left in place by Quora for a year. Their own response was deleted by Quora moderators within 5 minutes for violating the 'respect' and 'retaliation' rules. Think about that.

The victim responded by quoting the troll back at the troll, and that was deleted as 'disrespectful'... but the trolls words that were quoted were not. And Quora recognized this as 'retaliation' because what they responded to was clearly offensive... but Quora did not remove the original troll content. They left it in place.
You can appeal a decision and maybe have your answer restored... but appeals are automatically rejected. Automatically. So not an appeal process at all. You can email Quora to review the situation... if you can locate a viable address to do that. It's not easy. You may get lucky and find someone who will, after a few weeks, realize what's happened, restore your content, and maybe apologize. Or it can all go sideways.

Remember how I mentioned vile people also have jobs? If you get one of them, one that's managed to infiltrate into a place it can violate victims of horrible situations, it gets much worse. At best they'll simply ignore your complaint and you'll get no response at all. Just like the police, child protection, lawyers and politicians do far too often, and which can lead to devastating consequences. At worst, you'll find a lot of your content gets removed, and maybe your account deactivated and deleted altogether.

I've been a part of Quora for just 18 months. I've written around 220 answers. I have 165,000 plus views and about 1-2% of them have led to upvotes. Most people don't bother leaving upvotes even if they like something, unless it trends and they want to be part of the mob. And, I suspect, a lot of views are simply bots doing it to help Quora generate the numbers to boost advertising revenue.

You can kind of tell. An answer that's just an idiot skid-mark on the pages of history will get no traffic for weeks, then hundreds or thousands in a single day, then nothing at all again. Others that are insightful, amusing, well-written and thought provoking may just get tumbleweeds.

But, over the last year there's been a sudden influx of new users. Most of them extreme right wing and trolls. That influx coincided with Facebook's purge. One resulting from Federal US investigation into troll-farms and the spread of misinformation, particularly in regards to elections and pandemics. It followed one from a few years earlier, as troll victims made an exodus from Facebook to escape the predation, and the indifference of so-called moderators.

Ironically, the refugees joined Quora. Answers to questions include an option to allow comments, a social media component. It worked well until Facebook finally purged some of its trolls. The trolls, of course, left that hunting ground and searched for new victims, finding them on Quora. And repeated the process.

Quora is at that end-stage of its productive life and utility. Like Facebook, not even rebranding can help it. There's going to be a sudden big hit to its user numbers and profits soon, maybe even as a result of a Federal investigation as it finally attracts the attention of the media following something really, really nasty. It's just a matter of time before tragedy strikes, the media sees profit in the story, and politicians respond in an effort to secure votes.

So, unless you like being subjected to trolls of the very worst variety, or you're one yourself, Quora is probably a place to avoid. Trust me, step away from social-media sites like this one for a while. Detox. You'll find life is much better. Less anxiety, less stress, less anger and frustration. What little joy being able to share ideas with others you get isn't worth the rest. Find a better social media platform or, better yet, avoid it altogether.

Quora Quora - A Platform in Need of Redemption

As someone deeply invested in knowledge sharing and online communities, it pains me to see the current state of Quora. The reviews paint a grim picture of a once-promising platform now plagued by issues of hate speech, biased moderation, and a toxic environment. It's disheartening to witness a space that was meant for learning and understanding devolve into a breeding ground for trolls and extremists. The lack of effective moderation, the prevalence of misinformation, and the suppression of diverse viewpoints are alarming trends that cannot be ignored. Quora, once a beacon of knowledge, now stands in dire need of redemption. Potential users beware, for the Quora of today is a far cry from the inclusive and informative platform it once aspired to be.

Quora Didn't face any issues

This service was a great disocvery for me. So many opinions and info on the topic you are researching! A great help for students and for copywriters who are not sure about their content. I found a lot of themes for inspiration here. I don't know why so many users are disappointed, may be I'm just not interested in politics and I don't dig into these matters. I didn't face any problems with the mdoerators (although i asked just 1 question but it was okay and people answered me without any issues).

Quora My immediate impression of Quara was "very informative" They had the answer I was looking for

I had a specific question about practices in my own faith and they had very extensive historical statements corresponding with the path I have been following for the last 30 + years. I typed Quora review because I wanted to find out more about them. People who GIVE their God Given Talents for the upliftment of Humanity at large I think should be commended for the tremendous services they provide internet users. Some have gone the extra mile to make exploring the internet the educational, spiritual, beneficial place I believe it is meant to be used for.

Quora QUORA: Censorship on steroids

I have posted on Quora and found that it is controlled by special interest groups. For instance, Democrats gain control to crowd out Republicans. How is it done? They SIG uses 100 accounts to REPORT FOR VIOLATIONS any content they want removed. And the stupid bots and mods comply. For instance, I posted some verifiable facts about Jehovah's Witnesses, and that group has a special office that REPORTS with over 50 accounts. They are successful in getting undesirable facts about them removed so that they can continue their door to door propaganda campaign.

Quora Quora is Pro LGBT, anti religious, and backs anyone spewing hate for relgion

I use the site every day to spread my hatred for Jehovahs witnesses. I also attack users by reporting their posts, until the Quora bots ban the user. So if you dislike someone, Like I do the Jehovahs witnesses, its a great place to get away with it.
If you have peers that can assist you in reporting a user you dont like, on outside sites like Facebook, you can really attack someone faster... and out they go...

Ive attacked many people, and look forward to spewing hate further. The site is Pro LGBT to the max, so they wont ever do anything if I keep attacking religious people.

Quora Best of the best Q&A website!

I know there are many, many flaws but considering the fact that how much I am benefitted from this website, I can't help myself from rating this website 5/5.

Best things about Quora:

1. Coverage on vast topics.
2. Quite an availability of active experts. Most of the users are the experts on their own way.
3. Great website for marketing and reaching out the targeted audience for free.
4. Ads are less annoying than that of Facebook.
5. Strict policies to protect user's reputation.
6. Contents are original.

Some of the things that the website let's down are:

1. The website goes down frequently, like for 30% of the time in a day!
2, Forced login for viewing and reading the answers other than the answer landed from the search engine or direct link!
3. The app is not as much as optimized and friendly as it could be and should be!
4. Too much of the experimental features tested to all of the users at once. There's no dedicated group of users to beta test the experimental features!
5. Strict policies and sometimes dumb moderators!

Quora Helpful and Respectful Answers from a Variety of Perspectives

The majority of answers to questions I explored on Quora are constructive, helpful, thoughtful, and possess merit. I value reading multiple answers from people around the world, and I appreciate when people provide info about their credentials. While there are a few unhelpful, self-serving or negative responses, the majority reflect positive, well-meaning people offering truly helpful responses. One thing I like about this site is the focus on constructive dialogue even on contentious issues (very little in the way of rude, offensive, or judgemental language -- people leave crude language, profanity, etc. out of their responses (or I guess they are filtered out). Collapsed answers, which are not readily promoted, generally failed to answer the question in a helpful way or to provide supportive evidence for some of their responses; they might simply express a rudely worded opinion without any support or justification -- not really helpful. Quora is not meant to be a venting medium, and I value this about it, too. It focuses on exploring answers to questions. I have found this site very helpful. My one caution is that the information is given in goodwill, as I understand, so if you are sharing unique ideas there's a possibility others may use your ideas to their own advantage (publication, etc.). I'm not sure what the copyright is on the information you provide. Otherwise, I have found this site helpful, intelligent, and full of well-meaning exchanges of info between people living in various communities around the world. I love it!

Quora Great for reading content, bad for posting any content, but you get support

Edit 5: Alot of people at Quora really tried to help out in the process eventually. So, since it's free, and I really needed that support, I guess I can update this to two more stars.
If they can solve the trolling problem on the site, and I understand the point of the site is to connect users, but it would be helpful if they could find ways that people aren't forced to interact with other users, or see their content, it would really help the site.
Edit 4: All of this, I am not assuming, they bragged about it in answers.
Edit 4: Franklin Veaux accuses women on the internet, after going to their personal accounts where they have blocked him on everything possible, cause he feels entitled to blame them for him being a complete pervert and creep stalking them on marijuana, but can't understand it is more a mystery that how HE gets any dates, at all.
Edit: I have blocked Dushka Zapata on all my accounts too. Sane women focus on their partners, they don't stalk people from across the world for 1 year. She should get in therapy for menopause and talk to her boyfriend about her guilt on cheating on her boyfriend with Franklin, and maybe she did more, I don't know. Her standards for cheating for herself is having an orgy, but for strangers she doesn't know is liking articles (irrespective of whether they are in a relationship or not). But I guess this is her relationship after couple of marriages, she feels insecure.
By now, I have zero expectations from you all. Please leave me alone. I don't care, I will not get back my time back I lost in this. Let's just move on, there are more people like you in the world. Get new hobbies.

Edit 3: I also think Franklin Veaux was a pimp or a former anal pegged worker at sex parties in that industry (he knows quite a lot of workers since 2015), and a guy who operated silk trade drug dealer in deep web (wrote a lot of answers on how to get drugs from deep web when it was illegal in his country) and a former child porn collector or child sex offender, cause he was supporting pedophiles against being registered in sex offender registeries. He is also almost homeless and earns less than a fastfood person, so clearly he might have done some illegal things to earn money. He has no degree or skills. I think he is drugs and has some addiction, finance handling problems. He thinks he looks in his mid 30s at 50s. All of this is illegal in both USA and Canada. I also think his wife loves her lover more than him, they don't have a single picture together, but she has a lot of her and her lover since 2013.

He spends his time as an internet creep nowadays stalking and harassing minority female users on Quora who have threatened restraining orders against him. He is married. He also is a pathological liar, stalker, No one I know would ever ask him out. Ever. Is he mentally ill?

I guess he is already polyamorous, but I think he only talks about the all sex positive stuff cause one, he is supported financially by the network he has, two it helps him get laid with easily manipulated women, who are somehow okay with him, I really don't know how, don't they have issues shaking hands with him, and three cause he has build a brand and his work on the lifestyle. I don't think he believes a word he is saying.

I also think since he is not earning much, he is being paid or given some help by a user Dushka Zapata to defame users on the site for the last 9 months so that she could carry out cheating on her current boyfriend by having affairs on the site. He also has issues with being called a beta male. Don't call him that, he gets offended.

Edit: So a popular Quoran Dushka Zapata and Franklin Veaux had an affair on Franklin Veaux's wedding night (or bachelor party), I don't think their spouses knew. Franklin said for a long while Dushka was his crush, and Dushka Zapata attended their wedding, on her own. I think Dushka's first wedding was for "love".
Here Franklin Veaux wrote about it, apparently, they were pegging and having oral sex. Here he hinted at it.
http://qr.ae/TUTY5A
He posted this afterward. Dushka also participates in Burning Man.
This is his crush (at that time it was Dushka and she was at his wedding)
http://qr.ae/TUTY5H

Edit 2:

Dushka wrote these after that event. I am sure it's true.
http://qr.ae/TUTH7K
http://qr.ae/TUTH7C
http://qr.ae/TUTH7o
http://qr.ae/TUTH7P

Franklin seemed highly relieved after that.
http://qr.ae/TUTH7Z

They are both twice or thrice divorced, so maybe both are polyamorous, however, I don't think their spouses knew. I also think Dushka wanted to hit on users, maybe one Irish guy, and so was targetting users based on details from her life.

They both have 100s of failed relationships. They left their partners for being eye roving philanderers or for cheating. They were falsely targetting other users for a year so that they could find romantic affairs on the Quora site. So, bit surprised to see this surface.

Good things, the feed and ability to connect to great experts. Quora is great for having a high number of sources and information about things. They may be biased, but they exist and you can work the algorithm to what you would like to read. The experts are amazing, but they are being harassed out of the site.

I hate their moderation cause lot of good writers are being banned, sometimes on hate crimes, and they do nothing about it. The questions are extremely banal and trollish.

But it is just a website. Quora competes with feedly and medium. Compared to those two it is slightly better off, but there is a lot of bad content you'd have to go through.

But then user generated content is not exactly Quora's problem.

I edited my rating from 2 to 3, since the website is free. They don't really owe you anything.

Quora's network of users is also pretty good. So that is a plus.

I think they are now kind of doing surveillance on the site. And take more than necessary information for verification, so that is also a problem. It could be just an efficient system for knowledge discovery.

But, it is currently kind of a popularity contest currently between bullies and teens. The quora moderation behaves exactly like it's algorithm. Soon you start getting harassed, stalked, users troll you and mass report you on polite and helpful answers. There is also a kind of an echo chamber over there. There are some popular users who are completely insane and get away with it, because their harassment is within the lines of bnbr, and then flag you. If you are a female, expect harassment and yes, internet stalking. Worse, if you take it to quora mods, they will report you instead. The users there are highly pretentious, and think that Quora is actually legitimate place with laws, while harassing you. Most popular quorans aren't that successful outside that website to be honest.

You get stalked by users and trolls from the website. You don't know them, but the next thing you know they start to harass you offline and damage your reputation cause you rejected them, in some way. Especially if you write on controversial subjects.

But, I have to say it is still a great place to read about world experts. If you are a fan of science and technology, quora still is a good place.

Quora Quora critics are often those whose expectations are set by very dissimilar social media platforms

Quora critics are often those whose expectations are set by very dissimilar social media platforms. People using Quora for the first time often just start typing, assuming they know what's going on instead of availing themselves of the assistance available to them at the Quora Help Center or the collective wisdom presented in the Welcome, Everyone! space. Quora's unique "Be Nice, Be Respectful" policy often catches those accustomed to expressing themselves with vulgarity off-guard. Quora does not censor. I repeat. Quora does not censor. It crowd-sources the responsibility of reporting POLICY VIOLATIONS to Quora mods. It is easy to get lost on Quora, as the search function could be improved. Spaces do not have their own search engines and only 1 or 2 of them so far have a Table of Contents. Posts are easily lost or very hard to find. The Quora experience very much is YOUR experience. It is what you are willing to make of it. Some will spend most of their time complaining. Others will spend their time learning. It's up to YOU. And the requirement that you are held responsible for what you post is too much for some advocates of so-called "free speech." Quora is definitely not a platform where "anything goes!"

Some years ago I found out that just from visiting the website, I ended up with a Quora account without my consent. No warning, no terms and conditions, no anything. I do not want an account. I do not need an account. I'm pretty sure I deleted the account (Or at the very least unsubscribed from emails I also didn't sign up for), but after ending up on Quora again when searching a topic on the internet, it was there. Turns out I'm not the only one who has an issue with this. Just today I deleted this account - which I had to make a password *** in order to do so, since it was an automatically made account. Quora takes my information without my knowledge (in this case, my google account as far as I know) and forces me into an account I didn't ask for. I don't trust this and from now on am going to avoid even visiting the site because I don't want it to do that again. Don't do this Quora, please.

They force you to receive unwanted emails. When you click on the unsubscribe you just get a page saying you have to select 10 more topics. I'm not sure but I think they have to give you the option to stop emails by law. I will pursue this issue if they don't change and continue to send me emails

Quora uses a Spam Policy Program that automatically "accidentally" removed your answers and comments and profile from search engines and shows you the content as though it has not been removed, but if you copy the page link and log off and go to the page from the link you will discover it is removed. If you appeal it, Quora apologizes, restored it and turns around and automatically "accidentally" removes it again. What's more. When they don't remove it, Quora says it uses your reputation and their whim to determine if they show your answer to everyone, a select few or none at all. How do they quantify and determine reputation? Who decides your reputation or who views your Answers? In all, Quora engages in harassment, discrimination and censorship through these practices.

I do not remember even hearing about Quora. Never subscribed. Looked at it in my emails several times. I unsubscribed, deactivated, deleted them and they keep coming back. I did not have a password. Created one so I could get rid of them. Well guess what? They have reactivated my account twice. They sent an email saying I tried to get back on their site. It was not me. I would not go near their site with a 10 foot pole. This is harassment. How do we stop this?

Quora Quora has blocked my acct 3 times allowing other users to gang up and vandalize the profiles of users they disagree

Quora has blocked my acct 3 times allowing other users to gang up and vandalize the profiles of users they disagree with. This has cost me QPP money Quora bills itself as a crowdsourced place for people to ask and answer Questions in topics they are interested in and interact with other users. They offer something called the "Quora Partner Program" where you can ask questions and get paid for the clicks from Google search results and internal Quora users on your question and ads they display. I was enjoying my time, getting my earnings up to $15-$20 per week (Not in it for the money, more of a marker of how well I was doing at my hobby) I must have pissed off either a user or user/moderator and they got together offline (This has been a well documented abuse on Quora) and they organized a group to downvote and report my Questions, Answers, comments and my Profile. This has resulted in: 1. 57 of my 62 answers being "collapsed" (Not shown to other users) This includes answers that have previously 2. My account getting temporarily blocked THREE TIMES (The second time they admitted their error and unlocked me, then days later REBLOCKED me). This means I cannot post questions, answers or comments, nor can I upvote or downvote answers (Not surprisingly, I can shared upvote add and shared links they earn money on, lol) 3. See my earnings drop to about $0.50 per day) I have repeatedly appealed and exchanged emails with Quora moderators, literally BEGGING then to give me the EXACT content or activity that violated their policies so I can delete the content and/or stop the activity and THEY WILL NOT TELL ME, only giving a an email that provides links tor polices my activities might have fallen under. I have shared the experience on social media asking people who are on Quora to review my profile and content and not ONE PERSON has found anything wrong. Also, not surprisingly, they have not claimed their YELP page, which has similar complaints.

I want to file a complaint against Quora, Inc., Someone setup an account with Quora using my gmail account, i reported it to Quora, and i asked how that happened on 07-06-2021? I disconnected the account one day, and went back to the account another day, and it gave me the options to deactivate and/or delete the account but it asked for the password *** do it, and obviously i don't know or have the password, because i didn't setup the account, i got a response from *** at Quora on 07-09-2021, and he said that it appears that i previously created a Quora Account using my email address and/or google account on 04-12-2021, i emailed Quora that i didn't setup the account, and i asked if Quora can have an investigation done to find out who did it on 07-09-2021. My complaint is they didn't respond to my question, and to my knowledge there hasn't been an investigation done to find out who setup that account, the account is still opened

Quora Banned account and need manual review beyond bot or report triggers

Banned account and need manual review beyond bot or report triggers. On 07/04 my account received its first ever notice of cyber security related answers which all seem to be related to me including an extra link that references my own guide on cyber security career advice but that is a supplement to my primary answers for each person which I did provide a direct and respectful answer for. The response form 'John' on 07/05 simply stated a 'temporary' collapse in answers and a mod will review the policy for later. This was also the first and only time I ever received ONE notice that ONE answer had been flagged and 'taken' action against. With no other context or details. I also responded on 07/05 requesting any other context and feedback with no response. On 07/08 I responded to several requested answers involved with asking of domain.xyz was a scam/legitimate site with the same copy/paste responses as they all asked the same exact questions. It included external links to well known reputation sites (not related to my own personal articles). Shortly after I receive a notice that same hour that the moderation team has banned my account for multiple policy violations. Also on 07/08 I requested an appeals decision providing my inquiry as to what exactly is banned and why with no response. Many other users are reporting similar issues of ban without notice. I've constantly checked my notice/messages feed on the account and have received NO other notices from the moderation or any 'actions' taken into my account. My only thought is I may have trigged bot algos related to spam. I've felt my answers are 1) valid and actionable 2) respectful of others and 3) no malicious links or other false report claims provided. None of my answers are truly self serving and there's a reason why I reference my link in my answers because they are relevant to people asking the same if not similar questions that they would find useful. If a moderator has a problem with my links; they need to tell me specifically. Many have upvoted or shared my answers and have thanked me for them. I don't receive any money for answering or helping others. I even report specific illegal postings about "pay for hacker" services disguised as images. While I respect any final decision by the moderation team. I truly believe my account was unjustly flagged for banishment for provided quality answers and trying to help others get into or improve their cyber security skills.

I was blocked from editing for two weeks "for violating policy" without any further explanation at all. I am polite. I never bothered any user. Never cursed. The only thing that I may have done "wrong" was to write a question about the biden administration that MIGHT make me look like a trump supporter. *Please reinstate my account immediately. *Please explain EXACTLY why you blocked me. Which of my questions violated any policies. *Please figure out if your moderation team are politically biased and are blocking republicans from the website.

One day a few months ago, I came across a racist's question that screamed "put him in his place" ...so I did with an answer. Prior to that, I've posted pro-LGBTQAI+, pro-equality, pro-BLM, etc. hundreds of times. Not long after that SINGLE post telling the idiot his racism is wrong, Quora started suggesting "Spaces" to me. All being racist such as groups called "It's okay to be White". Do I get any suggestions promoting parenting? No. Equality? No. Food, journalism, science fiction? No. Hundreds of answers on those topics. But yet because of ONE comment, I get flooded with racist propaganda from Quora. Yes, I know I can go through and mute the individual groups they send my way, or end all mail from them, but I shouldn't have to do that. It'd be different if I was being suggested groups for the other topics, but NO it's just the racists. Something is really screwed up with that & needs to change immediately. Oh and there's no listed way to FIX these issues, no contact info on website.

Quora Quora

Holistic anthropology is a public posting to a wide range of viewers. Why are photos of transvestites or folks in drag showing up on my space Holistic anthropology? I don't want this stuff associated with this site. If we choose to post and discuss such things we will, but there's is no need to try to redirect folks to somewhere they don't want to be. Some respect is required and the adult nature of these photos and the redirects are far from being appreciated. We will cover this for more adult audiences as it is a significant topic that must be covered.

Claimed loss: redirects are not appropriate and I will work to avoid them, especially if they are not appropriate to the space...

Desired outcome: tell them to not post on my site; should they continue to do this, I will file a complaint to have some of their money reclaimed as loss of revenue....

Quora Quora is farce, lying, deceptive AI experiment.

If you ask enough questions, for long enough, using as many iterations as you can dream up, pull together enough living breathing humans to think up new ways to ask and answer questions over a very long period of time...you still won't have an AI system capable of emulating human behavior and thought. But that's what Quora is trying to do and failing at it big time. It's not a place to share life experiences. It's a place where they are constantly trying to accumulate enough human input to create an AI system that will be capable of deceptively answering human questions. Sorry Quora but you failed. Your site is full of deceptive, false, ignorant (beyond belief) content that does not promote a better understanding of the world at all. It promotes ignorance and racism. Your AI moderators are a joke. Your administrators are another joke. I will have none of it.

Desired outcome: Whatever those who've been deceived by Quora decide is fair, right, and lawful.

Quora Online discussion

I have been personally attacked and threatened by Quora user Paige Wolfe. I have made comments based on facts in the science literature.
She defames me by calling me rapist, she threatens to dox me, remove my genitals, and even asks me to take my own life, amidst a raft of expletives.
If it were a man behaving similarly he would be banned immediately.
Quora is another biased feminist social media that claims to be fair in its moderation.

Desired outcome: Ban Paige from your platform.

Quora In-depth Review

In Summary: Quora is a unique platform that allows users to ask questions and receive answers from a community of individuals with diverse knowledge and experiences. It stands out for its wide range of topics and the quality of some of its content. However, the experience can vary greatly depending on the users' engagement and the expertise of contributors.

Overview of Quora: Quora is a question-and-answer website where questions are asked, answered, and edited by Internet users in the form of opinions. Its mission is to share and grow the world's knowledge, offering a platform for people to connect over shared interests and learn from each other.

User Interface and Accessibility: Quora's user interface is clean and straightforward, making it easy for users to navigate the site. The platform is accessible on both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring a seamless user experience across different mediums.

Quality of Content: The quality of content on Quora can vary. While many answers are informative and well-researched, others may be based on personal opinions or experiences that may not be universally applicable or accurate.

Variety of Topics Covered: Quora covers an extensive range of topics, from science and technology to personal life experiences. This diversity allows users to explore and contribute to discussions on subjects they are passionate about.

Expertise of Contributors: The expertise level of contributors on Quora ranges widely. Some are recognized experts in their fields, while others may be enthusiasts without formal qualifications. Users should consider the background of contributors when evaluating the credibility of answers.

Moderation and Community Guidelines: Quora has community guidelines and moderation in place to maintain the quality of content. However, the effectiveness of moderation can sometimes be inconsistent, leading to the presence of low-quality content or spam.

User Engagement and Interaction: User engagement on Quora is high, with many users actively asking questions, providing answers, and commenting on posts. The platform also allows for upvoting and downvoting, which helps to surface more valuable content.

Responsiveness to User Feedback: Quora has mechanisms for users to report issues and provide feedback. The responsiveness to such feedback can vary, but there is a sense that the platform evolves based on user input.

Mobile App Experience: Quora's mobile app provides a good user experience, mirroring the simplicity and functionality of the desktop version. It allows users to engage with the community and access content on the go.

Features and Tools for Information Discovery: Quora offers features like topic following, personalized feeds, and the ability to request answers from specific users, which enhance information discovery and make the platform more interactive.

Privacy and Security Measures: Quora takes user privacy and security seriously, with options to browse anonymously and control who sees your activity. However, like any online platform, it is not immune to privacy concerns and data breaches.

Advertising and Monetization: Quora uses advertising as its primary monetization strategy. Ads are generally non-intrusive, but some users may prefer an ad-free experience.

Educational Value: Quora has significant educational value for those seeking diverse perspectives and detailed explanations. It can be a valuable resource for both informal learning and professional development.

Comparison with Competing Platforms: Compared to other Q&A platforms, Quora offers a more polished user experience and a broader range of topics. However, platforms like Stack Exchange may be preferred for more technical or specialized queries.

Pros and Cons: Pros of Quora include a vast array of topics, the potential for high-quality answers, and a strong user community. Cons include the variability in content quality and the potential for misinformation.

User Testimonials and Ratings: User testimonials often praise Quora for its informative content and community engagement, but some criticize it for the occasional spread of misinformation and the quality of moderation.

Customer Support Services: Quora provides a help center for users to address common issues and inquiries. Direct customer support is more limited, which can be a drawback for users needing personalized assistance.

Business Model and Sustainability: Quora's ad-based business model has been successful thus far, but the platform continues to explore additional revenue streams, such as subscription services, to ensure long-term sustainability.

Future Outlook and Developments: Quora is likely to continue growing its user base and expanding its features, potentially incorporating more multimedia content and enhanced personalization to improve user experience.

Final Verdict and Recommendations: Quora is recommended for those who enjoy exploring diverse viewpoints and participating in knowledge-sharing communities. Users should approach the platform with a critical eye and verify information when necessary. For those seeking expert or technical advice, other niche platforms might be more suitable.
