I refinanced my home and took out a 2nd mortgage of $21,100 in May of 2007 to pay to have a new well dug and a mold problem fixed. I thought I was getting just a 15 year loan on the 2nd mortgage, but found out yesterday during a solicitation call from Countrywide that a 15/30 loan, which is what I was told I have, means that at the end of the 15 years I will owe a balloon payment of about $17,000! When I went back and looked very closely at the monumental stack of paperwork I had been presented with and rushed through signing, I saw that this is exactly what the case was. This was never explained to me by my loan officer. I would never have agreed to a balloon payment loan. I don't believe in them. I think they're just putting off the inevitable and are for people who just live for today without thinking down the road about the future. I am so disgusted. I was told my only option was to pay more toward principal each month to pay it down quicker. READ YOUR AMMORTIZATION SCHEDULES VERY CLOSELY. LOOK AT THE LAST PRINCIPAL FIGURE!
terrible customer service!
As an excellent Fifth Third customer, with no late payments, excellent credit history and score, I'm now faced with some of the scenarios that I read about here. My payments are due the 5th of each month. I make (send) my payment in on the 19th of the previous month. I sent a payment on Jan 19th for my Feb 5th bill. On Feb 4th, my online checking showed it...

Created Credit Card Error then Failed to robustly close/cancel credit card - then abuse starts In Oct-2007 Fifth Third bank failed to mail billing payment invoices on a credit card I had just opened. This resulted in late fees. I went to the local branch and the Fifth Third representative canceled the account for me, but the main office failed to execute...

As a REALTOR, I was asked to help a client work out a short sale on her home, after she lost her job. The 1st mortgage was thru 5/3 and the 2nd was thru PNC. I spoke to 5/3 and they agreed to let me handle the account for her and began conferring with me. We aggressively marketed the property and received an offer in less than 3 months, in which 5/3 would be paid off including the fees, penalty and interest and the 2nd would get about half of their payoff. PNC agreed to this, since they had an ex-husband to go to collect the rest of their money from. We had everything in order and was waiting for the final payoff from 5/3. They managed to drag their feet for another 2 weeks until their was 1 day left until the closing. The prospective buyer had inspections done and had to have utilities turned on to do so. The day before the closing, an employee of 5/3 strategically emailed me the final payoff and it was over $7200.00 more than the payoff that had been given to both me and the 2nd mortgage co. ! Since they had refused to give me anything in writing the entire time I had the property listed, I had no recourse. They were already going to get COMPLETE PAYOFF PLUS ABOUT $4500.00 AND THAT WASNT ENOUGH. They claimed the excess fees were attorney fees, however, it is over a month later and they still have not served papers to the owner, nor is there any evidence that Foreclosure is in process. About a week ago, they told me to go ahead and continue to try to sell it because it wouldn't go into foreclosure for a while. I asked if it hadn't gone to foreclosure yet, what were the excess fees for. I talked to the manager of the loss mitigation dept, after much ado, and he said he would make sure someone didn't make a mistake. I have yet to hear from him.
THE END RESULT:
1.the house is sitting empty and un-winterized.
2.The seller is going to file bankruptcy.
3.The prospective buyer (single parent of 2) found out 3 days b4 Christmas that her and her 2 kids were NOT getting the house they had anticipated and are now out several hundred dollars. 4.Both the buyers agent and I wasted a lot of time and effort to find out that Fifth Thirds' staff are LIARS, THIEVES, and flat out CRIMINAL.
ALL REALTORS AND 5TH3RD MORTGAGE CUSTOMERS BEWARE: DON'T EXPECT THEM TO CARRY THRU WITH ANYTHING THEY SAY. GET IT IN WRITING AND THEN HOLD YOUR BREATH. FROM WHAT I'VE READ ON THIS SITE AND MANY OTHERS, THEY ARE GETTING AWAY WITH ROBBERY!
Still in 2011 things have not changed. I am 90 days into being in contract and still have not closed on the home, and 5/3 just wanted there 3rd extension. It seems like they don't do there job until a day or two before closing and come up with something they missed and need right now or something I have already given them and need it againg because they first time it was misplaced. This has been the most frustrating experience and I wouldn't ever recommend anyone to do business with them. If I didn't have so much time invested in it, I would tell them to stick it!
Working for an agent who's buyer is using Fith Third for Mortgage...file has been in underwriting for "3 weeks"...will tell all REALTORS to stay away from this company.
This bank is screwing me on my auto loan. I am unable to talk to anyone. The operators send me in circles and ultimately I end up right where I left off...no where. They tell me three different things at any given moment. They will not give me a pay-off amount. They wont deposit my checks for weeks at a time. I found a fifth third bank in roswell, georgia and plan on visiting there in person. Maybe that will help but I doubt it.
We're doing a short sale, or so I thought. It seemed to be going along in the disfunctional way we thought it would...but that was o.k. and expected. In the end, when we thought we had it all worked out, boom...it's time to make the sellers life a living hell. I'm not going to go into details but take my word for it they'll find a way to make it "not work". Having delt with them for a few weeks I find it hard to believe they can function at all. Want to complain about it? Hey, maybe go to someone in charge who can "really" make things happen? Good luck. You'll never get to that person. It will take you hours on the phone just trying to get some meaningful help. The people at the top don't want to hear from you. In fact, they so much "don't" want to hear your problems they don't even give their phone operators access to their office. The only way you're going to get to them is to parachute in!
I agree with your assessment of 5/3 professionalism and follow through. I had a mortgage with them and after falling behind in ayments due to medical leave from work- my home went into foreclosure. I wanted to work with them and they said - on a number of occasions when I called that they were reviewing my file. In the end they NEVER contacted me to set up a repay agreement or loan modification and ultimately I lost my home. Pass along to your prospective buyer that 5/3 is crap and not to EVER use them. They don't care about the family applying for the mortgage - all they want is to make the money even when it is not there.
stealing money through overdraft fees!
I have a Fifth Third Student Checking account with them, and once I went only $7.70 over my current balance. Within an hour of discovering it, I had brought my account to $0.05 in the black. However, I checked my balance the next day and found that I was $32.95 in the red because of an overdraft charge! I anticipated that, so it didn't bother me too much at the time. However, my paycheck was deposited today and I found out that they had assessed me a total of $103 in overdraft charges. They took my whole paycheck and still left me $3 in overdraft. I called them and they say if I put the $3 in today that I won't be assessed any further fees. If they do assess me again, there will be a fresh complaint on here and a call to the Better Business Bureau.
The Senior Vice President of Fifth Third Bank Is scum. He just sent me a threatening letter saying that if I didn’t pay my overdraft fee of $237.82 right now he was going to turn me over to a collection agency. Fifth Third Bank is a criminal institution. They are scum too. Yes I agree with the person who said in these hard times Fifth Third Bank should be helping people not robbing them. Fifth Third Bank is nothing but greedy parasites feeding off people who are struggling to keep their head above water. Fifth Third Bank is the reason my account is overdrawn.
I have so many complaints about 5/3rd there is not enough room to get them all in. The most recent is, I had a $3.10 charge on my account which caused a $33 charge. Well I disputed the charge and got reimbursed by vendor. I talked with the manager of the bank and he said when it was actually put back in my account I would get the $33 back. Okay that was done on the 19th and it is now the 31rst. Not only that I actually took him at his word and added it into my balance, which I should not have because it caused my account to be overdrawn. I was expecting him to do what he said and put in our account. So by him not giving us back what was ours it cost me $198. When I called the 800 number to ask about it, she stated that "because the $3.10 did not cause our account to be overdrawn she did not know if I would even get the charge back" How does that make sense, if I never would of been charged incorectly for the $3.10 I would of never received the $33 charge. This bank is full of theives and when you catch them doing something wrong they will not live up to it. Do you know they actually told me it was against the law to tell me how a check I wrote to someone (who also banks at 5/3) was cashed? I was disputing it because it was post dated, the teller actually took the check, checked my account, seen I had a deposit posting to cover it and cashed it. However then they come back through and charged me $396 in overdraft fees for that check. If they cashed it knowing I did not have the money in my account at that moment because they seen the deposit how is it my fault? Of course they sent the check back because I did not have the money to cover the check and the $396 in fees. What can I do?
I have been dealing with issues with Fifth Third for months now, as so has my father. I have been with them for over 5 years now, and they treat you like crap. On the 20th I was overdraw by .36 cents and got charged $33.00 for it. Though in their rules and regulations is clearly states that you have 3 DAYS to pay them back without any more charges being done, on the 22nd I get charged another $24 DAILY OVERDRAFT FEE! The same just happened to my father last week. Of course, as him being a male, when he called to tell them that he has the print out of their rules on there, stating that you do have the three days before charges apply, he gets them reversed. I call and do the same this morning, and I am told that's not correct. That I WAS IN THE WRONG! Two weeks prior I get almost $300 overdraw fees taken out of my acct. Though I kept putting money in. They were saying that the cahrges wern't taken out until Midnight, and that was from the day before, so thats why my money keeps being taken out. Though it says that you are only suppose to be charged a $6 fee per day, I was getting $24 per day. When I call, or go down to the bank, they tell me that my online checking means nothing, that I have to call them to see. I specifically asked the girl, that since I'm talking to her, ARE THERE ANY MORE CHARGES PENDING? She tells me NO! But, of course, I get charged the next DAY! I get on the phone again, and they tell me to check my online checking from now on so I can see. I was speechless, due to them just telling me less than 24 hrs prior, that i have to call THEM to see. They are the ABSOLUTE worst bank I have ever had. The only reason I had them in the first place is b/c they took over our small intown bank. I will be taking my money out of their bank and never deal with the rude harsh condesending people again. The way our economy is now, they should be helping people. Not robbing people.
poor customer service!
We have been customers for at least 10 years and have not missed a payment or deadline. I called on November 27th, 2007 for a payoff balance of our mortgage. Our coupon booklet printed by the bank stated to call for a final balance. I was given an amount and therefore sent a money order to the above address dated the same day as the phone call. During the phone call, I reiterated that this is for sure the final balance of our loan and the customer service representative assured me that it was the total. He also said that we would receive a check in the mail for the balance of our escrow account, our title/deed of the house and the copy of the bank statement saying that we are paid in full. The customer service representative told me to expect all this in the mail within two weeks. I waited until December 11, 2007 and called the bank again. The customer service representative said that we still owed money for the interest accrued on the loan. When I asked if the final payment was received, the representative said the check was received on December 5th and that the check was posted wrong at the bank and that we still had a balance due on our mortgage.
I informed the representative that I called for a final balance on Nov. 27th of this year and that our booklet said to call for a final balance. The representative still said we had a final balance of interest to pay and that the person I talked to should never have given the balance over the phone, that it was to be sent via fax, or mail. I took the representative at his word and sent the check promptly. I feel that the bank was in error and that the posting of the check caused more interest to be accrued. I was all set to put the balance on our visa, but the bank hung up on me. I called the bank back right away and I talked to a different representative. This gentleman said that yes we still had an interest balance due on our account, however they could use our left over escrow monies and pay the balance and that they would send us a check for the balance to close the account. I told the representative about the run around that I received. I also told the representative that I want confirmation about the closure of our account, a check for the balance from our escrow, a copy of the statement stating that our account is now closed, and finally a copy of our title/ deed for our house.
My major complaint is that every time I called the customer service at the bank, I received different information. I also feel that the interest accrued after the check was received should NOT have been charged to our account. I feel that the bank owes us an apology and a prompt response. I have tried to call the bank to complain directly to them, but they don't seem to be listening. I hope that I don't have to wait another 2 weeks for confirmation about our closure of our account. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Linda LaCross.
Usually, when they are talking about escrow, they are assuming that you are selling or refinancing, and in that case, a few days of extra per-diem interest is added into the payoff amount given by the bank (always, always, always by fax. Phone payoffs are never never never correct, and should not be used to judge how much to auctually pay off the mortgage.) The details of how to auctually pay off the mortgage will be on the written, faxed payoff statement. I suggest you get a faxed payoff statement sent to you, and make it good through a week or two after you request it, then send wire transfer to the wiring instructions on the statement to ensure that the funds are recieved by the lender, and your wire confirmation will be your proof that the loan was paid off ie. no waiting around for cancelled checks.
lost funds, stollen money
Fifth third can't even handle basic math. They made a mistake with a deposit (put it in someone else's account)then charged me hundreds in fees for the privilege of taking my money. After confronting them with proof(deposit slip, original check stamped "Fifth Third for deposit only") they finally admitted their mistake and put my money back in my...

I have never made late payment on my acct.. last month I tried to refinance and made an appointment to meet at a branch at 11 am on a Saturday. I was told not to send my payment because we were refinancing. I had to drive an hour away to go to the appt and when I got there I was turned away because they "didn't have time" to help me before they closed at 12. I tried to contact the woman I had been dealing with over the phone and none of my calls were returned. I ended up mailing my payment late because I couldn't resolve anything. In my car payment book it shows that my payment is counted late if it's received on or after the 14th and I have about a $8 late fee. I got a letter on Oct. 17th that was dated for the 12th saying that my payment was late and that I owed them $16 in late charges (my actual payment cleared my bank on the 14th.) I sent a letter this month with a check that included the $8 - not the $16 and told them the reason my payment was late was their own fault. I sent this month's payment on the 2nd... and now here it is the 13th and in one day my payment will be late again.. I've never had a payment take this long to clear. The payment center is only one state away and every month it's taken 2-3 days for my check to clear after sending it. So, why hasn't it cleared after 11 days now? I have a feeling they're holding my payment to make it late again this month because I tried to stand up for myself by sending them a letter that wasn't even nasty... Talk about great customer service.
Never ever bank with Fee Third Bank and Fraud company! If you have a mortgage or car loan, Refinance with another lender. If you have an account close it. If someone tries to pay you with a Fifth Third check don't accept it. "This can easily be resolved.".. yeah, right. if you believe this I have some Enron stock I can sell you cheap. I would rather get a loan from Al Capone. They will Fee Fee Fee you until they take every penny they can and then charge 2/3rd's more in fees! They have an awful reputation in Cincinnati.
All fees due to bank error can be reversed with proof. It is company policy. No bank delays a payment as retaliation. That is absurd.
As with many larger companies, payments can be delayed due to MAIL time.
Many clients have chosen to automate their payments to avoid this. Nothing is fool proof in this day and age. Technology isn't perfect, nor are humans - at ANY company. This can easily be resolved.
Advise to all... make your loan payments on time. No matter what you are told. The best person to protect you - is YOU.
fees charged
I am a small business owner and an employee accidentally charged a customer $2702.70 instead of $2.70. The customer contacted the number on their card right after the transaction occurred and was told it would be taken care of. As the merchant I was unaware of the charge until after we had settled out that evening and contacted my bank rep. the next day and was told to doa refund so at 2:00 a.m. I was trying to do a refund and did not have all of the numbers on the card to complete it. I called the customer the next day and offered to give them a check to deposit in their account so they would not be over drawn. The customer declined based on the banks advice to file a dispute and told me the bank would be sending me the form to sign and return. I checked our mail each day and never received the form. I told the customer this on Sunday evening (1 week after transaction occurred) Monday I was contacted by the customers wife and called their bank to talk to Teresa. She tells me they let them use their card in the mean time and have racked up over $1200 in overdraft and nsf fees and are expecting me to pay for the fees and that she has gone above her duty and regional will not let them remove the fees. I ask to talk to someone from regional and she tells me they won't talk to me and the person I need is out of the office on this day. By now I am furious and feel like someone from 5/3 is trying to scam me out of money I do not have. I went and did a refund for the full amount and gave the customer a copy. The next day thew customer contacts me and says their basnk wants me to give her cash because the credit didn't go through. I told her I can't because I've already done the refund and I contact my bank rep that tells me her bank (5/3) has to go in get the money and deposit it in to her account. The last thing I heard 2 days ago was Teresa was unaware of this and thought it wouls go in automatically and she would have to check on it.
Also I might add this:
When I married my hubby and tried to add him to my checking account
they told us he had to have a credit card or they could not add him.
I went on the other side of town to a 53rd there and they said they had
never heard of such practices to add someone to a checking account.
I hate banks and when will the pres start looking out for the hard working middle class?
These banks are disgusting and predatory and have helped to destroy the middle class.
Now we just wait till my husbands direct deposit goes thru and then withdraw
all our money and use cash all week.We avoid using our debit card like the plague!
I am considering going back to paper checks and just pay $3 to cash it at the walmart next
door to 53rd.Its far cheaper then the thousands of dollars they have ripped me since I opened my account in 1993.And if you think they are bad, Huntington and Chase are worse! Its one big nightmare till they change some laws to protect us consumers!
Yes fifth Third does all the above and more!
And the sad thing is all the banks do!
Chase is the worst!
They claim they dont make a profit yet charge you high
interest loans but pay 1% on savings accounts?
They are a legal scam!
I had given my attorney a check for 300.00 on a friday, monday I looked at my account online, all of my transactions had cleared and I was 61.00 short to cover the 300.00 check I had written. On tuesday, 5/3rd reverses all of my previous transactions that had cleared and post the 300.00 check then charges me overdraft fees of 296.00. When I called to complain the girl tells me that it is their right to process transactions the way they want and I signed the agreement when I opened my account. I'm closing my account today, and if they ever read this then, I HOPE YOUR BANK FAILS! Mr. President, DO NOT BAIL THEM OUT! LET THEM FAIL! THEY DESERVE IT!
I can't stand 53rd..I had my money in my acoount to cover my check...I went in and deposited another chesck..A few days latter I was called about an overdraft...They told me that it takes 24 hours for my check to post...I never heard of it..I had over 1000.00 in my acount and deposited 200.00 with a check...My checks to clear were a total of 1120.00.They said you are only available 100.00 at that momement and it takes 24hours for the other to clear. They said there policy changed last year...They said if you deposit a payrol check of 500.00...you are only allowed to use your card for 100.00 and if you go over you will be charged overpayment fee..I hate 53rd..
I deposited a check of 200 dollars (in cash) at a 5/3 branch and was told that it would immediately be counted as "Availably Balance". We we where already cutting it close on our balance, but the$200 dollars would leave us breathing room. I then went to the gas station, got gas then went home and checked my Internet banking. The $200 deposit had posted along with the $39.00 in gas. I had receipts with the times of the deposit and gas purchase. Two days later, I'm charged $33.00 for the overdraft of the gas purchase because fifth third posted the gas purchase before the cash deposit. I called customer service explaining that I had proof of the time on the receipt only to hear that deposits go through at the end of the day. Do Not Bank With Fifth Third!
harassing calls!
I have never ever dealt with a company that their collection agency was based in the PHILLIPIANS! In mailing a car payment on September 30, 2007, (our grace window was Sep 29 - Oct 10) we started receiving phone calls all hours of the day/night. When finally speaking with a Customer Service Rep it was RUDE; THREATENING'; VERY UNPROFESSIONAL... then to top it off when I told him it wasn't my fault that the check from SOUTH BEND to CINCINATTI hadn't arrived, that was the mail services problem... he very rudely informed me he wasn't in OHIO, but calling from the PHILLIPIANS! WHAT? He had my account information; my personal information and I was talking to someone who didn't even live OR work in the U.S? I was appalled! Is this the way to get CHEAP LABOR? My payment was not LATE; I didn't deserve to be harassed. I will not deal with this bank again! IF possible I will refinance my loan with someone else.
Fifth Third Bank is not only calling me directly but, calling my office as well. I feel it is total harassment to call me on my mortgage loan when it is not late until after the 15th of the month. Furthermore, it is 02/09/2011 and I still have not received my 1098 Interest for my line of credit with Fifth Third Bank. If they want to call me after the 15th of the month that is fine because then I would be late but, to call me asking me why I have not paid my mortgage and could I make a payment today when it is not even past due is absolutely rude and HARASSMENT! Also, I think it should be against the law to call my office!
Fifth Third banks automated system starts calling at 8:00 in the morning and every 30 minutes after that. We pick up to talk to them but there is nobody there. We are happy to talk with them and work out our payments but all this does is harass and irritate us. We have pulled all other accounts from the bank as a result but cannot with this account. Bad Business ! Bad Bank !
I was forced to file a civil suit against 5/3 bank case number 2011-cv-2340 Wilson County, TN, for receiving 784 phone calls in a 6 week period . This action was a direct result of me being a full month behind in my payment. This case was ruled in my favor under the current Fair Debt Consumer protection Act. ( section 807(4) and section 806 (5). I understand that 5/3 is wanting their money and I have that financial responsibility to ensure that payment is made. However, after filing 11 hardship packages, all denied, 9 registered letters to stop and desist letters, I sought relief from the courts. Debt is a responsibility and should not be taking in a light manner. However, when an individual who has attempted to work with debtor, has failed and harassing phone calls have ensued to the level of 784, documented by phone records and logs, in a 6 week period one may consider a civil matter to get the calls to stop. Don't be intimidated by the court process, it is designed to work with fairness, for the most part. These cases can be filed by the individual under $140 . without the aid of an attorney when they are filed in small claims court
I completely agree with every complaint posted regarding Fifth Thirds' harassing phone calls. I NEVER would have personally chosen them to handle the financing of my truck beause I actually had never heard of them, but the dealership said 5th 3rd offered the lowest rate at the time. I later found out that wasn't the truth, but the damage was already done.
My grace period ends on the 16th, but the harassing calls start way before, and it' always the same hard to understand foreign speaking man. Prior to exploding on this guy I explained that my payment was always received before the end of the grace period & asked why he was calling. He rudely made reference to the actual due date & bluntly stated he would call every month that it wasn't. There was absolutely no reasoning with this guy so I hung up on him. He called back immediately, but I wouldn't answer the phone, so he repeatedly continued to call.
I will never use 5th 3rd again & advise everyone I know about my experience.
We get harassing phone calls from Fifth Third Bank regularly even after we requested the number be removed. We do not have an account with them, and never will have. Very poor business conduct.
Fifth Third nak is a scam. I have had a car loan with them sence 2001 and have never missed a payment. Sever time when they did not recieve the payment by the due date, not after the grase period they begin calling, 3 and 4 time a day. I am then asked to wait for the next aviaiable agent. they always call eary on Saturday and Sunday mornings. After I explain to them that the payment is in the mail, and that there is still over a week before the grase period is up, they try to talk me into making a paymeny over the telephone. When this first happened I did not want a late payment on my credit report and I agreed, but guees what, they charge a fee for the service that is more then the late payment. Not only did I have to pay a "fee", 2 days later my check was cahsed by fifth third bank, so I made a double payment, plus paid a fee that was more then the late charge. I think this is a out and out SCAM. I pay bills over the phone and online all the time, but no one else charges a fee for the service. I qwould really like to know who I could report this to, because I really bleive this a is a money making scam.
worst bank ever!
This bank is the worst bank ever. They go out of their way to find opportunities to charge overdraft fees. I currently have three accounts with them, and I have been charged overdraft fees even when both of the following occurred: 1. I had money in my other accounts to cover the expenses and 2. I transferred enough money from one account to the other account to cover the expenses the SAME day the expenses occurred. I have called to complain about this to no avail. The last time I called to complain about this, the customer service representative hung up on me.
I am closing my accounts and switching to a new bank ASAP.
Don't use this bank run away. They sent me a new card but they can't figure what happed. How my SSN is wrong. So, I called for info but can't give it to me because they say I am using the wrong SSN number. What is going on all i can figure out is they put my SS number on the wrong card, and I got somebody else's on my account.
Fifth Third totally mistreated me over a recent credit card payment. I got paid on Friday and realized that my payment was due on Sunday. I tried to make payment after work, only to realize that Fifth Third closed by 5:00. The next day, I attempted to mail my payment 24 hour service from several different places (which was suggested by the 5/3 customer service rep.) only to discover that no place will deliver on Sunday. When I called back for help, they said they would make an exception and take a "payment by phone" (for which they charged me $17.75). When I got my statement, I discovered that they also charged me a $39.00 late fee and jacked up my interest rate. Where is this credit card reform that our legislators have been promising? Can they get away with this type of treatment?

Worst banking experience I have ever had . I have over draft protection alerts I recive via txt if my acount falls below a certain amount which are incorrect. my acount was negative due to an overdraft fee they gave me on monday that I occured apparently friday and they didnt decide to charge me till 3 days later...I recived the iver draft at 11:00 am makibg my acount negative as it was for 74 dollars or whatever and I onky have around 27 In the account because im broke like most of America. ...at 11:40 my alert came through saying I had anpossitve 27 dollars...the bank manager was and condescending treating me like.im stupid and should know how to keep a better ledger. ...well im human and make mistakes luckily I supposedly had tools to help when I drop the ball...NOT cuz the stupid tool lied...the manger went on to just make excuses and try to point out its my fault...well 5th 3rd if your tools that are supposed ti help didnt lie and say I have money when im negative maybe I wouldnt have so many problems...and how is someone supposed to get theyre head abouve water when you keep holding them down...this bank habe a civil suit againt them a few years ago for iver draft fee's and theyre laggy system that they blame on the consumer. Get with the program 5th 3th and stop stealing money from hard working honest people.
Recently, we paid for our parents prescriptions with cash and they gave us a check. The total amount of the check was $40. We deposited it a few days after they wrote it (they are tight on money and let us know when to deposit it). Two weeks after the check had been deposited, we checked our bank account. Turns out the check was denied for lack of funds. I wasn't angry at my parents like I said they are tight on money. Here is the part that STEAMS me, FIFTH THIRD BANK charged our account a $15 penalty fee for the bad check. As if it were my fault for not checking that their bank account had the funds in it. This transaction isn't killing us but we work hard for our money. So now not only are we out the $40 but another $15 on top of that. Like I said, I'm not mad at my parents but the bank charging our account a monetary penalty for depositing a check, that is horrible customer service and we will be switching very soon.

I have a home mortgage with 5th 3rd, approx 2 yrs old. At closing I enrolled in their auto pay for my payments. I provided the first yrs insurance, and taxes. In August of 2008 I changed banks, called 53 explained what i was doing. recieved a letter 2 days latter from 53 thanking me for my august paymnt, and that they now recognized my new checking as my new acct of deposit. They got there paymnt from my new bank, but they also kept trying to get payment from prev acct as well. When tax papers arrived it showed that i had missed nine payments, and that i failed to keep up my insurance paymts.(had to bring proof at closing for the first yrs ins.) I been at war with these people since 01/09. I have never missed a paymnt. paid my 24th payment 01/01/2010. They now say i havn't made a paymt since 08/2008. reported that to the 3 credit reporting agencies. I have every statement showing the paymnt being deducted from my acct. need to refi bbut they have missed my credit up to the point well you know rest. they know i've made these paymnts. they just say tough. So according to them Ihaven't made a house paymnt in 16 months, but I still living in it. havent' been notfied of any foreclosure. ANY ideas ? sincerly, ppppppppppppppppppooooooooooooooooooooooooooof
Like others have said, Fifth Third's system is set up to rip you off. Withdraws always come out instantly, but deposits can take a day or more to go through. Say for example, you have $100 in the account . All in one morning, you deposit $500, pay a bill for $200, debit for some gas and food for $20 each, and later make an ATM withdraw for $60 to have some cash on you. They count withdraws first, highest to lowest, then deposits. So despite having $600 in the account, you'll be charged with an overdraft fee for the $200 bill, twice for the debits, and again for the ATM withdraw. They recently raised their fee to $37, so that times 4 = $148 they just robbed you of. You think you should have $300 left, but nope, you only have $152 left. It's completely asinine and should be outlawed. Do yourselves a favor and avoid 5/3 Bank, and all banks like it. go to a credit union or small local bank, you won't regret it.
I have an issue with Fifth Third Bank and I wonder if anyone else has had this problem. We own a home in Naples, Florida and the mortgage is through Fifth Third Bank.
About a year ago, we were sent a letter by one of their vice presidents that we were now required to purchase a $10, 000 wind insurance policy through Fifth Third's Insurance Department. My husband took the letter to our insurance agent and he was told that we already had a couple of different types of wind insurance, plus flood, etc. The insurance agent called Fifth Third and he was told that we still had to pay for the "new" wind insurance.
My husband then visited a Fifth Third branch in Naples and talked with a branch manager. The branch manager worked with my husband and the insurance agent to make the Bank understand that we did NOT owe them for a $10, 000 wind insurance policy. We received a letter from another vice president that we were correct...we did NOT owe Fifth Third money for a needless $10, 000 wind insurance policy.
About six months later, the wind insurance was automatically taken out of our checking account along with the house payment.
We did not have enough money in the account, so they put the rest of the needed amount on my Fifth Third credit card. I received a statement in the mail a few days later telling me that I had overdrawn my account and would owe several different types of fees. Then two weeks later I received my charge card bill. I DID NOT authorize any of this. My husband went back to our insurance agent and the same bank manager and we were able to get the fees credited back, etc. The Bank did all of this without our knowledge or permission.
What they did is in violation of several laws and I would like to sue them. If we can find two people that this has happened to, we can start a class action law suit. If this has happened to you, would you please let me know?
Terry
This bank is the worst I have ever dealt with in my fifty years. Don't go anywhere NEAR them!
We tried buying a house that was on the bank's books as a foreclosure property, and as anyone who knows the industry would appreciate, banks have an obligation to rid themselves of real estate holdings. We put in a good offer, they accepted, and when we came to an agreement on a total figure for rolling in the costs of closing, the presented us with an amendment that contained two completely conflicting clauses. One stated that they agreed to pay the closing costs, with a specific figure mentioned, while another clause stated that they WOULD NOT pay the buyer's closing costs. Thinking it was an oversight, we crossed out the negative clause, initialed it, and returned the contract back to the bank through their agent. They came back at us and told us it had to remain as is! It was a complete joke, and we even sought legal opinion and were told not to sign such an ambiguously worded document, as it would open end the agreement and leave us having to trust the bank's integrity! Would you do this? We went backwards and forwards with them over it, but they refused to budge, essentially blackmailing us into signing the document through our desire to buy the home. Our mortgage broker finally told us to go ahead, stating that if the bank played any games afterwards we could use the ambiguity to back out. But so much time had been taken up with all of the crap from the bank that we asked Fifth Third to change the closing date - they refused, even though they caused the delay.
I come from a Real Estate family, and I have never seen a deal made such a trial of humiliation and aggravation by such an uncooperative and hostile party, one that seems to think it exists to make buyers jump through every hoop imaginable. If they had set out to make the signing process as difficult as possible in order to drive us away they couldn't have done a better job, because that's what we did. Against legal advice we were prepared to sign the document to try and buy a house we'd fallen in love with, but to be such SOB's over changing the closing date due to delays they'd caused was just too much.
The punchline? We found out recently that another buyer offered $15, 000 over what we agreed to with the bank and has a closing date less than a week after the one they were trying to force us to stick with. Wonder perhaps that the treatment we got had a motive behind it? Or was it just coincidence and Fifth Third are just a pack of ###s?
Our advice? Don't EVER deal with Fifth Third where real estate is concerned. Or maybe just don't deal with Fifth Third period. Any business that treats the public the way we were by Fifth Third doesn't deserve any custom at all.

customer service is harassing me!!!
I am being harassed by Fifth Third bank. They are calling 5-6 times a day and my truck payment isn't even late! I received a called yesterday on Labor Day and spoke to a non english speaking witch. I tried to ask a question about why I am being called so much and late into the night (8:00-9:00pm). She immediately interrupted me, I told her how rude it is to interrupt and the witch hung up. I called the customer service number back immediately and received a recording saying the office was closed for Labor Day...they called me, it wasn't closed. Today I called the company and asked to speak to a Supervisor, I was told they were All in a meeting and someone would call me back, that never happened. 6 hours later and 3 more harassing phone calls later I received yet another call from a non-English speaking rep. I asked to speak to a supervisor, She refused me, saying she could help me. I told her no thanks and I need to speak to a supervisor. She refused 2 more times then finally transferred me to a supervisor. A non English speaking woman got on the phone, I asked if she was a supervisor, she said Yes. I told her I have a complaint about yesterday's customer service, she interrupted me almost immediately. I told her that was one of my complaints. Our conversation if you can call it a conversation consisted of me trying to talk and her interrupting me. I told her I wanted to speak to whoever is over her and she refused. She stated it was none of her supervisors business. I told her I was being harassed with all of the phone calls when my payment is not late. She kept saying so what, it was not harassment and the phone calls would continue. This went on for several minutes, me telling her to put her supervisor on the phone. I eventually gave up, called her a F-ing (B) witch and hung up. I am looking into refinancing my truck note to get away from this bank. I am beyond pissed. Bad, Terrible customer service
I too am being harrassed every month for my car payment + the next month's car payment. I am on time every month and I even pay extra. Yet, I am getting calls every hour sometimes for DAYS at work and at home. Thank GOD they do not have my cell.
I just argued with the guy at 5/3 to STOP THE CALLS... and he hung up on me.
Stay AWAY from 5/3 bank. I am so furious... i cannot wait to transfer this loan
bank card scam!
Hellooo! I have a 5/3rd debit/credit card with no overdraft protection of $500 because I have never used credit so I have no score. I have had this card for two years. When using this card you can choose credit or debit. Credit causes a lag of 24 to 48 or more hours before any items hit your account. Obviously debit takes it immediately. On a few occasions last year, my account balance would get down to say $10 after all transactions had cleared. This meant that if I used "credit" that day, it would allow me transactions over the $10. I would make a deposit the next day in the bank to cover what I had used on the card. The "pending" now established would not be calculated until midnight that evening or possibly the next. I never had a problem on those few occasions. Last week I had another such occasion where after all transactions I had $5 in this account. I spent $10 at 6pm after bank hours on "credit" and made a deposit the next day for $300 at noon in the bank. Two days later I looked at my statement on-line and I was charged $66 for two overdrafts? These were from the fact that I went $4.88 over on the $5 day. On Jan 1st 5/3 rd changed the policy on when the "pending" amount gets calculated causing an overdraft. THERE IS NO WINDOW WHEN USING CREDIT WITH THIS CARD INSTEAD OF DEBIT. I was told a notice was sent to me on my statements. That is fine and all if I looked at them, but of course I use my account on line. Well, I was notified and ignorance of the rule is no excuse... (so they say) FINE... but I should not have gotten 2 overdrafts. This is because they covered "in theory" the pendings and the larger amounts and once I was $4.88 over. They went back in the last few days and overdrafted the smallest purchases of $1.79 and $3.50 which were made when I had $50. "nice and tricky"... but my main complaint is that I am sure I am not the only one and... If this card allows you to go over your limit when you choose credit and don't know the new rule... THAT IS A SCAM. There is no lag... it's now a plain debit card and my card should have denied me for the $10 purchase when I only had $5. ( even though I selected the credit option.) On top of that, I got TWO overdrafts. I wonder how much $$ 5/3 made off of this little maneuver.
I love how these 'holier than thou' people get on here and say "balance your checkbook". Give me a freaking break - everybody makes mistakes - EVERYBODY. This bank is the worst of the worst. I, like 90% of the people that have posted on here have been ripped off by this POS bank. The thing that upsets me the most is that I had deposited the money - it was in their hands. But because of their policy of only posting the first $100, I overdrew by a few dollars. Was this my fault, sure it was ! Do I deserve to have overdraft fees totally almost $300 because I overdrew on one item? Hell no! But because the overdraft fees were kicked in, it caused me overdraw again on pending checks.
I called the branch the first time the fee was added and talked to a customer service rep... because this had never happened before she said they would "waive the fee"... those were her exact words "we will waive the fee"... well they only waived HALF the fee, so I hadn't put enough money in my account to cover it. Low and behold, for the next 3 days I got overdraft fees on everything that I had pending. Had the woman told me from the beginning that they were only waiving half of the fee, i would have deposited enough money.
I finally called and talked to a manager (I was crying hysterically at this point because I was having to spend my rent money to cover overdraft fees). He told me that he couldn't stomach 'doing this' to people and actually recommended that I go to another bank. He did refund half of the fees once again, but when it was all said and done, I had spent close to $300 in overdraft fees over a 3 day period.
I would never recommend them to anyone. In fact, I tell as many people that will listen to NEVER bank w/ them.
Also, I think it's funny how you may see one or two positive posts about this bank for every 100 bad ones. That should tell you something!
Fifth Third is a hugh rip off! It is completely unethical to stack transactions this way! And I am sorry, but MOST banks DO NOT post transcations this way. They post based on transation time, not highest to lowest! It is clearly a way for Fifth Third to get as much money from their customers as possible. I totally aregg that when you make a mistake you should pay for it, but I do not feel that you should pay a $37 fee for EVERY pending transaction! That is insane. Additionally, I deposited $450.00 in my account yesterday. It was 2 checks and $100 in cash. They held $250. When I got home after depositing, it stated $250 was on hold. The next day, there was NOTHING on hold. The entire amount posted to my account, and I had $50.00 to spare. My huband used $7.00 that morning for breakfeast, and I used about $5.00 myself. I get to work and check my account and it says my account is OVERDRAWN! WHAT? How is that possible, I have money, and I just used it! I call the bank and they tell me that the $250.00 is still on hold. I said no it isnt because it shows posted on my account. If it were still on hold then how can I still use the MONEY?! That makes no sense. They charged me $333.00 in over draft fees for money that WAS IN MY ACCOUNT! I switch to Suntrust! STAY AWAY FROM FIFTH THIRD!
I hate to yell you that almost every major back pays items highest to lowest. I have not found a large bank that does not do it this way. Its pretty easy to avoid these fees, balance your checkbook. I live paycheck to paycheck as well and have never overdrawn my account. If you make a one time math error, i am sure the bank will work with you on the fees, but they will probably only do that once. Besides, it is disclosed to you when you open your account how the overdraft policy works.
I spoke to a service representative at Fifth Third, and it is in our documentation to process debits to our account from the largest to the smallest. So even if you use your account the day before and are not overdrawn. They can wait to process the transactions until the next day when you make another transaction that does overdraw your account. This allows the bank to claim you were overdrawn more than one time and charge you three times the fee. The bad thing is, I made a deposit the day before and wasn't overdrawn. But, the next day when I wrote a check and knew I had a deposit in my account, they still processed the larger amount first because according to their rules they only make $100 dollars of your deposit available. Apparently the banks are resorting to fraudulent practices to cover their bad debts and this only means the consumer is going to suffer as usual!
Can someone explain what the purpose is on typing out terribly long, complex and unique-to-your-situation complaints on a website that ISN"T 5/3 customer service page?
Yeah, you made a mistake choosing a bank that OBVIOUSLY is a bit behind in the times when it comes to technology (they were using the old teller-stamp, carboned deposit slips until, like, a year ago!). Evryone makes mistakes.
Take your money out and go to a new bank. It's really quite simple. Don't worry about the checks you still have. This is 2008. Who really NEEDS checks anyway. Leave. Go to a better bank. Save your time, energy and stress for something that actually matters.
Fifth Third is a total rip off. They have a system purposely designed to favor them in any issues and have absolutely no regard for their customers. I have already been lied to and hung up on by their staff. Does anyone no how to report them to a government agency. I would love to place a complaint.
If your Bank is bought out by Fifth Third leave as soon as possible.
I've had the same issues with them. Their overdraft practices are unfair, unethical and should frankly be UNLAWFUL.
As a consumer, I try hard not to overdraft and to keep my books properly balanced. However, as MOST of us who are living paycheck to paycheck, I do occasionally. When I overdraft one item, whether it be for .01 0r 1000.00, I understand the ONE overdraft charge. I am willing to pay for my mistakes when I make them. What I am NOT willing to do, however, is pay for overdrafts on EVERY OTHER TRANSACTION I've made with them in the past three days. 5/3 uses a very clever, very UNETHICAL 'stacking method' when they post account transactions. Here is an example... Say you have $100 in your account on a given day, with nothing pending. Here are a list of transactions created that day, in the chronological order in which they were authorized:
*$5.00 for coffee at 7am
*$75.00 for electric bill at 11am
*3.00 for fast food at noon
*9.00 for drug store at 3pm
*6.00 for medicine at 7pm
*11.00 for movie rental at 8pm
total = 109.00. OOPS! You overdrafted by $9.00, and that is YOUR error, because you forgot to write something down. No problem, you'll pay the $33 fee. You'll get one overdraft fee, right? For that movie rental? WRONG.
Here's how 5/3 POSTS these... which can be days later...
75.00
11.00
9.00
6.00
5.00
3.00
Doesn't matter what time you put those through, and if there was money there to cover them or not. They ALWAYS post things largest to smallest to maximize THEIR profit. In their eyes, you've overdrafted the account at the $6.00 charge- which you didn't have enough to cover, as you were short $1.00. So, even though you only overdrafted ONE item, they will tell you you overdrafted THREE.
It's a sneaky, unethical way to practice business.
Sure, you shouldn't have overdrafted in the first place. But we're human, and it happens. Most of us are honest enough to pay for our mistakes and understand that our one mistake may have led to one fee, and not give the bank any hooplah about paying it. Fifth Third, however, goes far, far beyond this, robbing your bank account one $33.00 fee at a time.
AND THEY WILL GET YOU IF YOU AREN'T CAREFUL. My advice? Run away from this bank as FAST AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN. They are terrible. No other bank that I've ever had practices business that way.
FIFTH THIRD IS A RIP-OFF LIKE NO OTHER.
Same here, I've banked with them several years now and I'm not sure what the other local banks do so I've stayed with them, but I would love to hear about other bakns and if their policies are different or not. Then I could make a decision to change banks or stay with this one.
Have you ever noticed that it makes no difference the economy new banks a springing up everwhere. I bet over drafts on unsuspecting customers alone are funding most of these endevers. It would be interesting to know the funds from this practice alone verses interest collected. It'a a high price to pay for sure for a bank account. They got me several times on the credit/ debit card deal. It took me a while to figure out what was happening. They are criminals in my mind. How can the banking industry allow such rip offs?
With any card - debit or credit - funds should be available for any and all purchases made.
Whether you made a $2 purchase before your $300 purchase is irrelevant. Did you have $302 in your account before you used the card? Plus, the bank uses BUSINESS DAYS, not calendar days. The Federal Reserve is closed on weekends, therefore anything from Friday - Monday is posted all together on Monday night. Most larger banks and now many smaller ones process that way.
Overdrafts are handled by a computer system and it doesn't know if you are .02 overdrawn or $200 overdrawn. You are overdrawn. Rarely these days is anything handled by humans - it's too slow and there are billions of transactions. It's 2007 and we are not in Mayberry. Technology is amazing and things are clearing faster everyday. Never play the "float" game with your accounts and you wont get a fee.
Besides, walk into a bank to open an account and tell the banker that you operate your account that way. Bet they don't open it. You are considered a risk to the bank. Does anyone know how much money that banks lose in fraud and overdrafts each year? It effects the entire economy. Complain to the government? Who do I complain to because the government rips me off daily?
Fifth third has royally screwed me today. I used my debit for gas a few times on a trip. I got to destination and had a tire go flat. So, I used my debit thinking big deal, one over draft fee. Thats not how it panned out. They charged me for everything but the tire in over draft fees and it totaled 376 in over draft fees for going 31.00 over. They charged me for fees from debits on a Friday when I had money in there all the way to this morning. The problem is, the tire didn't hit until after everything they're charging me for. I'm going to go into the bank and try and get it sorted out. If not, I'm tired of being stolen from and I'm going to make an example out of the branch that is stealing from me. I seriously have nothing to lose but money. If the government can't take time to hear my voice now, they'll hear it in a few days.
fift third bank is a rip off!
I had overdraft protection on my account. Some how it was overdrawn by $1.45 they charged $6.00 a day fee on day 53 I attempted to view my balance at an ATM and it refused to show the Balance so I went into a Branch and was told the fees had accumulated to $624.00. I told them to close the account.I paid the $1.45 only. Now I recently get a statement from nationwide collection agency the balance is over $2000.00 and claiming on a closed account and now there are collection fees. imagine that! It could continue to increase but i refuse to pay. Please don't open your account with them it will not be safe.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Fifth third is the worst bank in the world. The Customer is the worst ever, the personal bankers have no idea what they are doing, and the OD fees are unethical and plain highway robbery. The employees are rude and will never go out of their way to help or listen. In anyway. I opened a trust account for a minor. My daughter received a large sum of money for an accident. My court order the account was suppose to be a Minor Trust account. Therefore, nobody with out a court order can touch that money. Well, I found out that's not how it was set up. Money was being used to cover OD and they are crooks Dressed up in cheap polyester suits. I will shut you down if it's the last thing I can do !
They are bunch of crooks, I am going at it with them now. Because of an old account I have not used in almost a year
I have filed complaints with The BBB the Federal Reserve. I am also filing a complaint with the state where they have their charter(headquarters) Ohio.
They have me up to almost $600 in BS fees. Does ### will not see one Red Cent !
All the above complaints are true to the word -5/3 is a money sucking machine -- with pit bull customer service - but as we write our little stories here it just doesn't matter for they will only continue and laugh all the way to the bank - which likely will not be their own bank because they already know better than to bank with themselves because they suck so bad...
I watch make accounts especially the checking account if things get tight. I checked my account online and everything was good, but I transferred some money and deposited my payroll check. According to 5/3 my pending account went negative (they were only allowing for 100.00 of my payroll check) by $ 18.00. They transferred the money out of my savings account and charged me the transfer fee. I was told, had I cashed my check and then deposited it, it would have not gone negative. However in the past when I have tried to deposit my check as cash, I have gotten guff. Mind you my savings account had enough to cover the payroll check. The only way my pending account hit negative was for 5/3 to record all the debits and then the credits. My actual account never went negative. The branch mangers in Springboro use to fix this and apologize, but the current manager does not care. 5/3 is no longer a bank of customer service, my advice is to go elsewhere where you my be appreciated.
My husband and I keep very close tabs on our account because we want as much in savings as we can get. We are no longer in a position where we live paycheck to paycheck, but we were there when we were younger. We always check to make sure our checks are posted before we spend any money. Our check was listed online as POSTED, so we moved our money into savings. They assessed $66 in bounced check fees even though our account was never listed as negative. How is a person supposed to manage a check register when the bank reports money that it does not count? When we spoke to a CSR, she said that she can understand our frustration and promptly refunded us HALF of the money. She says NO ONE in the company has the power or ability to refund the full amount, even if the bank was wrong. She then pointed out that we should have understood bank policy well enough to know the computer was wrong. HOWEVER, the bank regularly makes things available earlier. How were we supposed to know that the money was NOT really there even though it was listed as posted? This is the first time in YEARS that we have had anything like this happen because we do manage our money responsibly. It was disappointing and upsetting to have a company we have been faithful to and donated to and recruited for turn on us like this. We will no longer be banking with Fifth Third, and we strongly recommend that no one else does either. No matter how good things seem to be going, the bottom line is that they DO NOT CARE!
Even though they don't close til 6pm, I called 7 locations after 5:45, and NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONES. They just ignore the calls, like a fast food restaurant would. Terrible!
And the reason I was calling was because my cash deposit didn't go into my "available balance" by closing, even though I made the deposit at 9:13am this morning!
5/3 finds every possible way to screw a customer out of their money. Their overdraft protection is a farce and I will be filing on that class action lawsuit for the time they ripped me off 800 bucks due to the way they processed checks through. I am also sick and tired of trolls coming onto these boards belittling people with snide comments and yet have no complaints of their own filed. It is suspicious when the negative comments are from people who have no complaints about any business in the world. They make everything into a personal attack and seem to get off on upsetting people who may or may not have legitimate claims of being ripped off or screwed. To those who do this, who troll boards, you are worse than the bankers themselves and need to get a life and stop harassing people with negative comments.
fifth third is a rip off. I do believe the charges of now $7 a day start on day 3 or something, but if you dont realize something has overdrawn your account it can and will accumulate. I had the same thing happen to me, and they stated they tried to reach me to resolve it but I never got paper statements or any phone calls and I rarely check the online, as I hadnt written any checks or used my card in awhile. I happened to go into the bank one day to make a deposit and they told me my account was closed and overdrawn nearly $500, all for being overdrawn by .23 cents...
oh, by the way, 5/3rd has agreed to repay 95.5 millon dollars in robbing people of thier hard earned cash in U.S.CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.printed in cincinnati enquire paper dec.2 2010. go after your money people, they dont care about you!
this 5/3 banking system is the worst i, ve ever been a customer with unfair, unfair, unfair, how do these bank managers sleep at night.i closed my account on the 19th of nov. thats right, closed, an on nov.29 i recieved my small amount that was left in the account in a check sent to me by mail.the following day i recieve a letter that says i am overdrafted by 90 cents. explain this one to me 5/3rd bankers.now my retirement check an s.s.i check has been lost in the mail, was this out of spite or just a lack of co-operation with these dirty dogs that call themselves bankers?my question is, can i stand out front of 5/3rd with a sign telling others to quit banking with crooks that lie an decieve anyone they can.extreme measure, s call for extreme action.born in america, raised in vietnam.
poor customer service!
I am a new customer to 5th 3rd...never again! My finace and I bought a Ford Explorer in march of 07. It was used, and the car company stuck it to us charging us more then its worth...ok my bad...but the loan was finalized through 5th 3rd. Everything was fine for awhile and then my hubby to be lost his job...Sheer panic set in as I tried to figure out how to pay the bills. I called their finance department to try and get the payment lowered. She refused saying that I had not had the loan long enough to change arrangements. I was crying and so upset...she said and I swear its truth, "Well have you tried selling your blood? If you give plattlets you will get more money. Or how about a yard sell...my grand mom had one and raised $4000..." Oh you can imagine to what I said to that! She then said, "Well perhaps you need to get another job." I cussed her flat out! Who the heck do these people think they are! I had at that time a credit score of 7oo! I was treated like trash! She said, "Well let another bill go to pay us, cause if you dont, we will come get your car and you will owe us anyway." No emotions what so ever...I told her that I would pay it and I would NEVER deal with them again! Well I found out that you can pay it late as long as it is not 30 days over and technically they cannot report it on your credit. So for five months I have kept it paid the best way I could...then last night I told them that I was paying it late, told the the amount and everything and they still call my house! So I called the call center and got in touch with this horrible non English speaking person...I went off! She told me that I had no right calling there and speaking to her in a raised tone. And I told her they had no right to call and badger someone...she then told me, "Well if you were not such a dead beat then we would not have to call!" I DEMANDED to speak to her manager...she refused over and over and I kept asking. Finally she hung up on me. I called back and talked to a nicer lady who obliged to my wishes..I reached Jay who was just as rude and sicking...he said if I wasn't a deliquient account, then I wouldnt have issues. I asked him if it was common practice to be talked to like that by them employees...he wouldnt answer me. I told him the payment was made...he smarted off about it being late and so I decided to ask if I needed to sell my blood as his finance department suggsted...he laughed and was very rude again insinuating I was a dead beat by making off color remarks. To anyone reading this, DO NOT USE 5TH 3RD FOR ANYTHING AT ALL! I hope this bank folds so no one else receives the same treatment as I have. Thanks for letting me vent.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Almost a week since fraud dept said they’d overnight us a new card in the meantime all my subscriptions are asking for a credit card. No new card!
Deposited some money, two different transactions, and only the last transaction showing up
Filed a dispute for a charge to my account on April 3 for 276.46, not sure in what world it takes 8 business days to provide a provisional credit. If investigation proves valid, charge it back, but I'm out almost 300 dollars because of them. I will not provide my name and account information until contacted for resolution
What is going on with you APP? ever since the change it cant remember who I am or my Biometric security.
This team should be FIRED as all was fine until this? But that's usually how it works. LOL
Ok, I am done venting.
Respectfully-Matt Finger
I got a new card but can't use it they must have entered the wrong SS number. I called for info on my card, but they can't give it to me. It says my SSN number is wrong for this account. I wonder whose number they put down because my number can't be found a total bunch of BS.
The Fraud Department does not and will not answer their phone!
I had called to get an issue resolved about my account and not only could they not do anything when I had asked for a supervisor the woman was extremely rude in a mocking tone, short, clearly fed up with her job and just pretty much laughing at my situation which was serious to me I'm very hurt/mad
case # [protected] Never received anything from this company nor did I order from them
They hold my withdrawals and/or purchases and post them at a time that will cause my account to be overdrawn. If I make a purchase it will get paid immediately because the money is there so when I check my balance I trust that's it's correct when I'm essence they are holding off on posting that purchase until it conveniently overdraws my account.
I waited in the drive through 20-25 minutes behind one car.. decided to go inside and pay credit card bill. Service was still slow. You need sharper more energetic employees at this branch
