Family Dollar service I am complaining about.

I received very poor service from one of your Family Dollar locations. My Wife and I have been very uncomfortable whenever this individual is working. She doesn't greet us for any reason. She removes our items and just take off and go to another register without informing us that, she will take us at this register. She places our money(change) on the counter after it was giving to her in her hand. She places her hands all inside some of the products we buy and need to cook with. This individual is very rude, disrespectful, and towards my wife and I, very RACIST. We've have reported her to the store manager/supervisor. We did a follow up with the supervisor and she stated she hadn't got around to talking to or disciplining the individual. We called customer care for days and was on hold for over 3 and a half hours with no answer. The incident is still ongoing every since her hire date.
We need someone to contact us asap. We spend hundreds of dollars weekly at this location. We really should not be treated in such manners. Please contact Mr. and Mrs. Smith-Agent regarding this matter. [protected]. Or by email [protected]@gmail.com

Family Dollar solar light jar.

My solar light jar worked for a short period of time. I went to put a new battery in it, and it was corroded. To the point it doesn't even work anymore. How can you sell something with the wrong product supporting it? There wasn't a solar battery in it. It was a normal one. Now I wasted my 4 dollars on this jar that doesn't light anymore. What can you do to fix this so I don't have to pay for a while new light? Thanks.

Family Dollar kleenex facial tissues

On Monday August 28th I went to the Family Dollar store at 3734 Cumberland Road in Fayetteville, NC to take back the boxes of Kleenex tissues that I had purchased the previous week. I purchased other items as well and I had 3 family dollar coupons from the newspaper buy 1 get 1 free. I purchased Purex Detergent buy 1 get 1 free, Kleenex tissues buy 1get 1 get free, dog treats Chomp'ems buy 1 get 1 free and some chips.
I gave the cashier the coupons and I paid for my merchandise. At the time of purchase I did not notice that my Kleenex tissue purchase didnot take off the buy 1 get one free. After I had gotta home to check my receipt I noticed I that I did not get my buy 1 get 1 Kleenex free. I paid full price for both boxes. On the 28th Monday I took both boxes back along with my receipt. Before I could get to the counter with my bag the assistant manager Jon told me that he was not going to take the tissues back or give me a refund on my purchase because I did not have the coupon. I told him that I gave the coupon to the cashier on the day of purchase. He was so very nasty and rude to me. He acted as if it was his money and not mine. I exchanged words with him. I told him that I would report him. He has not customer service skills and he is definitely a disgrace working for family dollar. I have always shopped at this store since it first opened. I am a very loyal and long time customer of family dollar. My family and I have shopped at family dollar many years ago since I was a small child. I was very displeased and unhappy with Jon customer service skills. In which he has NONE at all. I had to go to another family dollar store in order to get my money back on the 2nd box of Kleenex tissues. I told the manager at the other store how Jon acted and he told me that Jon know that he was suppose to fix that because I made the purchase at the store where he work. The manager at the other store also gave me the contact information to make my complaint about Jon. This matter should definitely be looked into. Jon needs an attitude adjustment. He needs to leave our store and go elsewhere. His attitude stinks and it is terrible. He acts as if he owns Family Dollar. I will take my business elsewhere if he is still around and not working up to what he has been hired to do. Thank you very much. Ms. S. Benson

Family Dollar items falling and potentially causing injury

To whom this may concern,
On today 8/30/2017 @ approximately 7:35pm I was attempting to view some household pictures...the pictures were organized in such a way that they had to be turned in various directions to be viewed...without warning the framing that holds the pictures in place completely fell out of place and on the ground sending 12 or more pictures that were larger than 8×10 crashing to the ground with (a loud bang) 3 employees...and absolutely no one came to see what had even happened or make sure if in fact I was okay...I then tried to express to the gentleman that glass was on the floor and that I didn't want anyone to get hurt...he came into the Isle and started adjusting pictures that had not fallen...I then pointed to the pictures that were scattered all over the floor...mind you the current employees here speak very little english and it is quiet hard to communicate...if I had been bleeding or injured would they have been able to communicate with me or anyone involved effectively for that matter (probably not) Nevertheless this is a huge problem and definitely a barrier for safety...on a positive note I am greatful the broken glass and multiple pictures falling did not cause me any harm.
Sincerely Rashida Griffin

Family Dollar not honoring family dollar coupons

I had a coupon for Febreeze Wax Melts which was a Buy 1 Get 1 Free...Promo code [protected]. Went to Family Dollar on 2625 N John Young Pkwy, Kissimmee, FL 34741 on 8/28/17 which was the last day of the coupon. And went the cashier scanned it, she looks at me and tells me it is not working. I said is there a manager. Someone came over spoke to her in Spanish and proceeded to tell me there is nothing she can do. She then takes my coupon and throws it to the side near the register. I told her to please give me my coupon back because I was going to make sure that I complained to Family Dollar. I have never been to a store that would not honor a coupon even if it didnt work in their system. The Febreeze Wax Melts was the entire reason for my visit to Family Dollar. So they end up telling me there is nothing they can do and that this coupon has been giving alot of problems. I do not see how me as the consumer that this is my problem. I shop at Family Dollar all the time and I am very surprised that a company as big as this would treat there customers this way. I can be reached at [protected]@gmail.com.
Sincerely upset,
Tamika Middleton

Family Dollar coupons

I went to store #1124 900 7th St, Morgan City, LA on Sunday 8/27/17 at 6:21 pm and was rudely told I can not use a manufacturer coupon with a digital coupon. Now if that is so why do you have it on your page that you may use ONE manufacturer coupon along with ONE Family Dollar coupon and that coupon includes the digital coupons? I put in my number and also gave her my coupons and it only took of for the manufacturered coupons. If yall changed yall policy you better change it on yall website! Just saying.

Family Dollar customer service

I was in a nearby Family Dollar when I overheard a verbal altercation between a cashier and who appeared to be there new manager. The manager was verbally getting onto the cashier about her "slacking" in-front of a line full of people of which I was in and two other fellow cashiers. Personally I could see where the manager was pointing and the cashier she was pointing at, the merchandise was clearly not put up correctly and the things that had been previously placed on the shelves were not properly stocked. This cashier that the manager felt the need to embarrass and degrade in-front of fellow customers as well as other employees had clearly not done what the manager was talking about. It was clear the only reason that the things were put away by the other cashiers was because they had thrown things on shelves and not cared. It had nothing to do with the cashier "slacking" as the manager previously stated it was purely the other cashier trying to make themselves look good. I was not impressed with how the situation was handled and I will not be going back to that store. If they are going to openly treat there employees this way then what is to say they will not treat there customers the same. I hope this situation is handed and it is seen that the cashier being yelled at was not at fault it was clearly a misunderstanding. Thank you and have a good day.

Family Dollar manager speaking to me rudely about shopping cart

well, I was shopping at family dollar in orlando near the sherrifs office, and he said I took stuff out of the shopping cart, and that I wasnt allowed to buy anything. well, thats not true. it was already empy! in fact, I was getting prepared for a hurricane we might have. the first time I bought, I had to use a shopping cart, and it was already empy, I had to purchase alot of stuff. 2nd, time I went in, he said I cant buy nothing, and that im being trespassed, when I didnt do anything wrong. a customer has a right to an empty shopping cart. when I refunded spaghetti to get another brand, he wouldnt let me buy it. then they tried to keep my original receipt. I went back in to get the receipt to prove what they did wrong! I didnt think they would treat me in this manner. Im very upset by this behavior. todays date is 8/26/2917 I have the original receipt, which I will make a copy of. and pls. email me as to how I can send it to you. my email address is [protected]@gmail.com Thank you for your concern to this matter.

Family Dollar service at your store in salem, indiana 47167

I recently shipped at the Family Dollar in Salem, Indiana. When I stopped in this last time on Thursday August 17th, 2017 around 3-4 in the afternoon I had a terrible experience to say the least. I've shopped at this store probably 15-20 times. We're as the store in Borden, Indiana is quite a bit closer. There were two employees that I know of in the store while I was shopping there. I only had a couple things I wanted to get but mostly stopped to see if there were any good sales. I did find some things on clearance that I thought were decent deals. I got a little over $35 dollars worth of items, and had 4 coupons. Now the person that I am, I asked the gentleman at the register to confirm that all the 12 pks of Pepsi were 4/$5 as they were marked, didn't figure that could be right and he said nope sure isn't. Add I walk back towards the checkout behind him and start unloading my cart, he just has a really unfriendly, presence. I tried several times to all him questions and compliment him on the sales and the store but he never makes eye contact or even acknowledge that I was talking to him there is no one else in the store that I can see at this time. When I go to pay, for some odd reason it will not let me pay with my card, it said something like invalid card. (Made me a bit nervous because now I'm unsure if I have enough cash on me, but luckily I did. ) I had just used the card 5 minutes prior at the dollar tree, and ten minutes after I left your store. It worked Absolutey fine every were but your store. He does not hand me my bags or receipt, instead comes through the locked gate and is standing right beside my cat when I turn around with a couple bags to put in my cart. No big deal, he says to me that I stole something from the air freshener isle. Now I only seen one other customer in this store the entire time I was in there, except for later on. I know the woman, she runs a shop in Salem and the only time I passed her was in the air freshener isle. Back to the story, I of course told him shoot dump it out. I don't steal, I have not a worry in the world, as he is going through my purse I finish loading my bags, chocking back tearsand a friend walks in the store. I'm embarrassed because I know that this man never seen me steal our anything remotely like that he is going on another customers word because if he had watched on a camera, he would know that I did not steal. Instead of apologizing he shoves my stuff back in my purse and goes on about his business. Now I never received a receipt and I'd like to at least return the items I bought. I'm not sure what I should do, other than not shop at that store anymore. I'm sorry to bother you with this, it's just very upsetting. Thank you have a wonderful day. My cell phone number is [protected] my email address is n.[protected]@yahoo.com thank you, Nicole L Walton

Family Dollar assistant manager

I went in the store to pay my phone bill through the straight talk smart pay service. When I showed her the numbers on my phone to confirm she told me "she's never done it and don't know how" I showed her there's a helpline number to call and she refused to call. There were no customers in the store and we got into an argument this is the 2nd time she has said she doesn't know how to do something and refused to help or attempt to figure it out to help me. She is the ONLY ONE that acts like she hates her job and will not take time to help or figure out what her customers needs.

Family Dollar service

I bought over $80 worth of clothes that were on clearance inside the store 2 weeks ago. When I began to put on one of the pair of excersise pants yesterday, I realized the hanger had 3x on it but, pants were actually 1x. I went to Family Dollar in Scottsville, KY. where I purchased them 2 wks ago simply wanting to exchange them out. Cashier said that without a receipt, she could not help me. She said because they had been outside on sidewalk as clearance items, she couldn't exchange them either. So, I was humiliated in front of a line of customers as this lady not only said she couldn't help me but, insinuated that I was a thief trying to exchange something I had stolen off the sidewalk sale. I do not appreciate the service I received and very upset. If not resolved, I'll never step foot in another Family Dollar again and will be sure to tell all my family and friends about this terrible treatment I received by your employee. The pants were normally $11. I got them on sale for $8.25 along with lots of other clothing including another pair of those same style pants, different color, that I had on the day I tried to return the pair that didn't fit. Please take care of this situation and hour rude employee at Family Dollar here in Scottsville. This happened today at about 12:30-1pm. Today's date 8/26/17.

Family Dollar manager service

I am very disappointed in how a manger treated me at the family dollar in saginaw, texas. I never make complaints, but this time I felt I had to, she shouldn't be treating customers the way she did. I went in to buy a few things, an air freshener plug in that I had a digital coupon for and some snacks. When I put in my phone number, I noticed it didn't take off the amount of the coupon I had, so I asked the manager if I could please void my purchase, and try the items with the coupon alone to see if it accepts the coupon. She said "ma'am it's not that easy" and got really frustrated. Then she pushed a single button that voided the transaction (Looked simple to me). Then she pulled everything out of the bag and said "what do you want?" I said "ma'am i'd like to try the items with the coupon only" so she scanned them and said "nope the coupon isn't working and there's nothing I can do." so I said "okay that's okay i'll just take the snacks then." then she got really angry and said "are you really going to make me do this again?!? Alright you know what? I'll do this one last time and after that that's it i'm not doing this again. Now which items do you want now?!?!?!?" with her screaming at me I changed my mind and said "none it's fine" and got her name (Crystal). I have never felt so disrespected by an employee, let alone a manager in my life. There was no line behind me and I was only trying to use a coupon that should have went through. I expected a manager to be helpful and if she couldn't solve my issue then fine, but to be so rude to me was uncalled for.

Family Dollar Experience and service from store clerks and lack of appropriate management, or 'unidentified manager's gross behavior

I would like to file a formal complaint against an employee at the Family Dollar Store #10062 on Aurelius Ave in Lansing, MI 48910.

First of all, I felt like I was constantly being shadowed in the store (racially profiled) by a store clerk with whom I was not able to get name, because both of the them were not wearing name tags.

The first store clerk, a Caucasian, full-figured woman with green hair would find herself down every aisle I was shopping down and then I found her staring at me once I would go down each aisle. I felt very uncomfortable and intimidated in the store. I don't like to feel like that and I don't want to be stressed out where I am going to spend my money. When I expressed this she spoke with another store clerk who did not acknowledge herself as a manager and she who self-identified only as 'Taye' (a Caucasian, blonde, full-figured), hail "Sir" to me loudly from the front of the store, but said nothing else. This was after I became apparently upset and explained to the first clerk that I don't like to be made to feel uncomfortable when I am shopping.

Upon checking out, 'Taye' (if that' her real name), gestured that she would take care of me at her counter. I asked what was her reason for hailing me earlier when she said "Sir". She hostilely said: "You were screaming in my store". I responded back and said "I wasn't screaming, I don't scream". It I have a problem as a customer, I don't expect to be attacked about it or strong-armed like some 'gangster' and/or 'street' tactic!

Instead trying to diffuse what I may have been validly sensitive about and irate, she only escalate the situation with her lack of being more concerned with the fact that I was raising my voice instead of trying to understand the reason why and be either empathic or concerned. Her continued strong arm tactics only infuriated me more and then she said, "now you're getting loud!"

In both cases her lack of professionalism and proper training to handle customer issues was horrible and she needs better training, a reprimand and a notification from corporate that this situation has been recorded and there are appropriate responses to these situations and her offensive attitude should not be tolerated.

She refused to let me pay for items totally $50, which I actually bought at Store # 10125 on East Saginaw Street, Lansing, MI, where I had a total different, more friendly experience. Instead of being concerned with checking me out, she seemed to be more offended because I was raised more voice in my state of disgruntleness by this time. She responded: "I done and stopped the transaction". I told her a would call corporate and make a complaint, She said: "Call corporate!" If anything store clerks at there to maintain the revenue stream which is based on store transactions, in other words checking me out and allowing me to purchase my items. She seems to have her priorities mixed up and does not express any professional demeanor or skills becoming of someone who is 'supposed' to be in charge.

I don't want to mess with anybody's employment, if I can speak candidly, I just want better service, more generational respect (and acknowledgement and more racial sensitivity from younger whites and others who work at your stores as a 54 year educated African American). I want this to be reflected in your "non-stagnant" and hopefully ongoing training practices and policies.

The training level and professionalism in these Lansing Districts seems horrible!

The training level and professionalism in these Lansing Districts seems horrible! I just really want someone to speak to her about this experience and impress upon her that a lot of what went wrong lies with her horrible and unprofessional attitude. 'Taye' seem beyond reproach and did not have any regard and respect for repercussions from her corporate, regional and district supervisors. Moreover, she expressed no connective professional culture, ideals and image that I would gather is supposed to represent a suitable set of ideals, organizational culture and image reflecting the 'good nature' of your company.

There is a problem of serious disconnect here! These kinds of store clerks run the store like it's their 'turf' (aggressively), "them against us" and this has an even greater impact when their is no regard, training, mindfulness or sensitivity towards how racial difference even deepens the cavity of "them against us", as opposed to operating like a community friend, she responded like an automatic enemy!

I'm not sure what your values are it's hard to read when you shop in these kinds of Family Dollar and therein lies the much of the problem. What are your values? And I'm not talking about customer discounts, I'm talking about what are your organizational culture values to an inclusive community! You certainly can't read your values if you continue to let the case of 'Taye' continue like she is thinking she is right and justified in her behavior.

Family Dollar inappropriate relationship between manager and employee/ rude customer service from cashier

I feel very uncomfortable going into family Dollar. Iv seen this multiple times and my mother has seen it once, where the manager and one of her employees are being very inappropriate with each other. The manager allows the employee to grab her, and he brushes himself up against her. Very disturbing that something like this would go on. I feel like I can't even shop there anymore it's disgusting.. also the cashier is very rude, I went in one night to purchase a nail file. The cashier scanned it and threw it across the counter at me. Poor management going on here.

Family Dollar manager accusing customer of shoplifting while still in store

My granddaughter and her 7 month old son in a stroller were shopping at FD o the 1500 w. Chicago ave. Chicago. We go there all the time and when she goes alone she puts her items in the bottom or on top of her stroller he says she was stealing socks and told her to get out or he(Christopher) was calling the police. If she was still in the store how was she stealing and then his employees were calling her a thief as she walked home. I really don't want to get my attorney involved but something needs to be done about this

Family Dollar customer service

23 August 2017
Store #: 00340
Employees: Tara?, Assistant Manager; Andre, Store Manager

I asked Tara where I get the smart coupons and she replied, "you go to familydollar.com and sign up for them. I spent the next 10 minutes in the store doing just that so that I could use the coupons. At checkout the chips did not ring up correctly so I asked the cashier was that a smart coupon. She didn't know, so I asked her twice to check. she finally asked someone else the price without moving from her position nd they immediately said that they were $5.95. She corrected the price and continued to ring the items. I asked her if the coupon would be good for both packages of baby wiped and she said she did not know, probably just one. After she completed ringing up the items, I wanted to see if the coupons took so she placed the screen back on the front tablet for me. This is when I noticed that the Huggies coupon did not take. She refused 3 times to assist me in resolving the coupon issue, so I asked for the manager. She stated that she was the assistant manager. So I said is there anyone here that is over you and she clearly said, no, while rolling her eyes. Finally, an associate came over to help figure out why the coupon wasn't taking (Do to my slow internet, the correct coupon had not loaded). I clipped the correct coupon and went back to the register. I asked her what her name was because she was not wearing a name badge as the other employees were, and she said Tara. Tara could not unlock the computer so she asked someone for help. This person just happened to be the store manager, Andre. So I let him know that I asked for him earlier and she told me she was the assistant manager and no one else above her was there. She cut me off and started telling me that she told me he was there (this is incorrect). Then she started to tell him that I didn't have the coupon. By this time I had the correct coupon, so I told her how would she know, when she did not have the time to help me. Tara began to yell and get an attitude with me as if I wasn't the customer who needed help. I yelled back at her and the manager told her to go cool off. When she walked off she was still yelling at me so I yelled right back at her. At this point the store manager got an attitude and said, "ma'am do you want this stuff or not in an intimidating manner." I asked to see the screen to ensure that the coupons took affect and paid for the purchases.
As a resolution, I believe that Tara should be moved to a position that does not involve customer service, such as night stocker, when the store is closed. I say this because; she was not wearing a nametag, didn't feel the need to assist me, lied to me, and yelled at me. Andre, needed to be spoken to about getting frustrated and taking it out on the customer.

Family Dollar customer service store manager

I am ringing out and tell the cashier that the air freshener is suppose to be a 1.00 cheaper she walks over to where I got the air freshener and tells me they forgot to take the sign down and there is nothing she can do for me. So I reply u can't take the 1.00 off because u forgot to take the sign down from the day before. I was very unhappy with how she worded it to me. Michelle Was the supervisor or manager not sure but she did tell me she was the store manager.

Family Dollar employees, management and cleanliness

I am extremely appalled at the service that the family dollar near my house provides. The store is always a wreck, can't even walk in aisles without stepping on stuff. There's always dead bugs on the floor, it appears as if the store doesn't have a broom. The dirtyness of the store isn't gen what triggered my complaint. What did was the employees. The service is just despicable. There have been so many occasions that I have received attitude or rudeness from several employees. The profanity and inappropriate conversations the employees have amoungst each other and their friends in the store is very disrespectful and unacceptable to the families and children that shop in the store. Every time I go in the store it's at least a 15-20 minute wait in line. On several occasions I've waited on a cashier as she was outside the front doors smoking. Not to mention the numerous times I've waited to be checked out because your employer was talking on the phone. I've also been told, "you're gunna have to wait because I'm not going anywhere" as the employees had the one door they actually keep unlocked blocked. I don't even feel comfortable talkig my family in unit because there is vulgar music playing off the workers phone. I've gone along time with out complaining but enough is ENOUGH. I will no longer bring service to this location as well as ensure what's going on behind those walls is known within my community. I expect something to be done.
