Family Dollar - charged wrong price for cat food.

So i Bought a cart full of items bathroom cleaner, food, floor cleaner and 34 cans of cat food. Manager Biola, counted the cans not checking that majority were 9 lives @ $.40 cents per can. She charged me for all the cans @ the price of Friskies cat $.60 cents. I called the store, I was told that in order to get a refund would be to take items up there so they can re-ring them up correctly. I am Disabled, I am not going to take everything up there. She is a Manager and has no clue how to do her job. Your company owes me a refund. Do something about this manager... This is not the first time. She is very disrespectful, Does not help when there is long lines..Instead customers have to wait 20 minutes. Poor management.. Receipt #[protected].

I just left store # 8428 who charged me incorrectly for an item they mis-displayed. The manager continued to blame corporate. WOW how do you get paid and don’t want to take that manager role? Someone from corporate should just run the store ridiculous Truly !

Family Dollar - store manager

My name is Katie Williams, a Family Dollar associate of store 12302 in Arlington Texas, off of Arkansas Lane and Sherry Street. I am an assistant manager and need to come forth with all of the corruption inside the store. I have a lot so there will be no specific order to how I list them all.
1.) First, I seem to be the only manager whoever takes tags down and puts them up regardless of the shift or day of the week. No one else ever seems to take that responsibility.
2.) Often the store manager (Faron Jennings) tries to call me and other people to come in a couple of hours earlier than they are scheduled, just so he can leave earlier always with a different excuse every time.
3.) Sometimes when he decides to give more hours to one person, he will call or text to tell another person to come in later than they were scheduled, resulting in the loss of hours. Faron is notorious for making unfair scenarios like this.
4.) We are not allowed to call in to work at all, or leave early like he does often, not even for emergencies. At one point I was on the register while another employee was stocking and Faron was in the office. I was receiving calls and texts from family that I was about to lose a close relative. I needed to call and say my good-byes but Faron would not allow the other employee to take my place on register even for a few seconds. By the time I was off the register she had already died. The store was not busy on this day. Recently Faron has started crossing more such lines and holding the store even more loosley together.
5.) Another cashier who had been demoted in the past is currently still a cashier. However she still walks around with the store manager keys on her person and I have witnessed her coming up to the front acting as a manager when other cashiers call for assistance. At times she even tries to tell us how stuff is supposed to be run.
6.) I don't know if this part helps, but I do know that Faron would always emphasized the importance of the door seal to everybody and always blame it on everybody else but he would always have an excuse every time he left it without a seal. He has left the door without a seal at least five or six times I can think of and then when we brought it up he always said "I could swear it was on there!"
7.) Recently Faron talked to a new associate and asked if she would be willing to walk up the street to the bank, which is a good 25 to 30 minute walk, with the store deposit which consisted of a good couple thousand dollars. That same day, he asked a morning shift associate to come up during the night at which time she was off the clock and drive the deposit. That did not happen but the fact that he asked her to do it is still not okay. This happens all the time because he does anything he can to make others carry his workload as much as possible so he can do minimal work. There are many other stories that needs to be shared from the store but I will end this message here at the most recent unprofessional act displayed.
8.) We currently have 97 applications in counting for this store. Faron skipped over all of them to recently higher two of his "wrestling buddies" even though we're low on payroll. We are so low on payroll that some Associates get one or two days a week and sometimes even a whole week without shifts. This is happened to more than one associate, many times. But now we have two new employees who aren't managers, they are not cashiers, but they are taking hours apparently just to stock. Not only is that bad enough but the first day that I meet them I learned that they gossip behind our backs. The first words one of them had said to me was "Hi, you must be Katie. I heard you were the pissed off and negative one."
I didn't say or do anything nor have I ever taken action, but there needs to be an investigation and a removal of store manager within the store. And his wrestling buddies need to go too.
I'm taking the time to expose Faron because he does not need to be in charge of a store with his lack of responsibility and his need to gossip like a High School drama girl.

Family Dollar - poor store manager

My name is Brian Silva. I formerly worked at family dollar store 12302 in arlington texas. It is relatively new. I helped open this store as of this year. There are numerous incidents and wrongdoings I have seen and experienced in which need to be brought to light.
For starters, all employees were scolded for the door tag being an issue ever since the store started. Faron, the store manager, got on to us every time about the importance of putting on a door tag after it was opened. However I can think of at least four instances off the top of my head that I can recall in which he forgot about the door tag and left. Also at least twice I've suffered along with many employees while he gave himself both days of the weekend off. And of course one of the other assistant managers has Sundays off every time and Faron never works Saturdays, which leaves the rest of us to scramble and NEVER have weekends off and pick up slack and other various tasks that could have been otherwise balanced. This still occurs. Another Injustice I was not fond of was that we were never allowed to call in. Regardless of how much time we gave in advance or what emergency came up, once the schedule was made only Faron was allowed to leave and get people to come early or late. Sometimes he would just flat-out text and say that he gave away our shift so we don't need to come in. At one point I told him I was puking sick and can't come in because of food poisoning; and his response was "just come in and stock, you won't put on a register but you need to be here".
My one-pass coworker tried calling in and had to go to the doctors, and he still tried to make her come in. On another side note, when I asked if another associate could cover my shift, I was met with "managers cannot pick up cashier shifts." However anytime a cashier calls in, even to this day, my girlfriend who is an assistant manager is one of the first people he will text or call to try to cover their shifts. Faron goes back on his word like this often. I would also like to add another occurrence during my employment. When working as a cashier, stocking during one shift, my girlfriend Katie was an assistant manager and on a register. Faron was in the office. Katie was receiving family calls saying that her Mimi had minutes to live so she should call and say her goodbyes. Faron would not let me take her place on the register even though it was not busy at all. By the time she had gotten off the register, her Mimi had already passed away and we were livid to say the least.
Recently my mother got hired at this Family Dollar. Now back when i was employed, Faron clearly stated that I was not allowed to get off the same day as Katie for the funeral because of the fact that I was not family. We weren't married, and though I was close to the Mimi, I understood that policy. However when my mother interviewed and was hired on, Faron said that with her experience she was clearly manager material. The only reason he wouldn't make her a manager is because "Katie is here and y'all are family." Now somebody tell me how my mother is related to my girlfriend whom I am not legally married or bound to. Lastly, as a final note, when I helped to start the store with a corporate guy who's name is Daniel, he was in charge of choosing who gets to earn their way as a permanent employee within the store. I was told I was to become an assistant manager---in fact Katie and I both earned our way to that title in the days that it took to begin the store. Instead, Faron decided to make me have an open availability but never made me a manager and a made katie a manager in the matter of days.
All of my cases here come to the same conclusion:
that Faron does not need to be a store manager in charge of so much power.

Family Dollar - store manager

My name is Angelica and I am a former employee of the family dollar store 12302 in Arlington, Texas. I would like to leave a complaint because I'm hearing that even after leaving this store, these events keep happening.
When I was employed there, we were never allowed to call in, not even in real emergencies. One time I woke up with severe migraines and I tried to call in the morning before my night shift. The response that I was met with was "Take an Advil I need you here." It happened again when I was at a doctor and I even had a doctor's note when I told him I had to go to a hospital so I had to call in. The only sympathy response that I got was bring in hospital documentation. Myself and many other employees have had countless repetitions of similar incidents. Another issue that needs to be brought up is that I have never been told the door code to the office as a cashier, as I understand it is for managers. Then I learned that despite the already obvious favoritism towards the new manager named Michael, I learned that Michael let another cashier know the door code, and the store manager just swept it under the rug. Another instance of proof of how loosely the store manager operates is him turning a blind eye to the chain of command. I understood my place as a cashier. However, when I was there (and apparently still), a new cashier by the name of Willie (who is from another store and demoted from an AM to cashier), constantly tries to overstep boundaries. She walks around and still tries to tell everybody how to run the store, even the AMs, and even carries the keys and opens drop boxes.

These are just a few examples of what goes on within this store.
My main point is that the store manager Faron does nothing and none of us have any faith in him and he needs to be removed as a store manager.
