Stop playing R Kelly loud ghetto music. Clean up the store, clean up the bums from standing in the entrance and show some respect for the seniors who shop there daily.A man was killed outside the store recently. The same man they allowed to sell t-shirts and conduct business in front of the store. Talking to the manager was fruitless. Your employees don't necessarily need to be fired but they need sensitivity and customer service training ASAP!
frozen 62 count ziploc bags and dillinger's terms in four different designs in each box
Hello there my name is April Chambers I went to Dollar general this morning roughly around 10:30 ish a.m.. gentleman on shift his name is Tyler I went in and purchase some items and decided to go to the clearance section where they have all the clearance items and found Ziploc bags with little cute designs for my son and my daughter. I speak to Tyler whom I was under the impression is the store manager that was told to me from the cashier on the shift he was working. I talked to her as I go to check out she says they are ringing up as $4 and I was like how is that possible it's over there in the clearance section without a clearance sticker. she tells me to go talk to Tyler and I asked her if he's the store manager and she says yes so I go to the office as he was in there talking to someone. I told him about those bags ringing up for 4 dollars each. thinking I had a few dollars in my account. He says just tell the cashier to price override it to a dollar each I said okay so I go to her and she price override it when I went to swipe my card it declined so I go back to the office and talked to Tyler and told him hey I thought I had the money in my account so I have to wait for my husband to give me the cash and later on today I will come back to pick these up is there anyway you can hold them. Tyler says yes go put them in a bag get a slip of paper write your name on it and he'll hold them in the office I said okay now how will the next cashier know if I'm coming to pick it up and he said don't worry I will let them know. So as I said I would I go back there around 8:40 ish late evening to go pick them up Thursday, 24/2019
I talk to Natasha about it told her everything. The lady who was working that night shift when I went in. She said she wasn't informed about it and the store manager so happen to be there checking on nightly crew and I guess she was on the phone calling Tyler to see exactly what it was he said overhearing Natasha and my conversation. Tyler on the phone said to her he thought it was Christmas stuff when he did clearly see what it was I wanted to get proven on cameras. The store manager her name is Margo. After hanging up the phone she tells Natasha to scan the product the box's of ziplock bags snack size . so she scans it and she says it's showing that it's not in stock but it's not showing that it's been marked down so it was put on the shelves without a sticker on it in the clearance section in the store and I was also fed misleading information. after this was done I said okay what are we going to do about this matter so instead of honoring the price that was told to me. she says well I can't even change a price I'm sorry they're $4 each. Considering the whole going back and going through all this . This needs to be addressed. This is considered false advertisement feeding false information not only it is the employer may I say store manager it is also the employee.
Just because something is in the clearance section doesn't necessarily mean its marked down. It just means the store discontinued the item.
service
The store is always a mess. The trash can outside has been overflowing for over a week and has trash piled all around it stacked up, the manager is always outside smoking or on her cell phone even when checking customers out she will be texting on her phone. I know this because I was waiting In line for 15 mins while she had her phone up in the top window and was climbing up and down ladder to get it to text. they never have on their uniforms they are suppose to be wearing they always have on regular street clothes and hoodies, the aisles are very unorganized and can barely get through most of them bc of boxes just sitting and inventory piled up. This store is horribly ran and needs attention bad!

Assistant Manager Carlos Garcia said that he wasn't going to work weekends or the closing shifts, claims he needs to spend more time with his kids. Yet he posts pictures on Facebook of him at different bars with his friends nightly. He stated this in a post on facebook. He likes to change people's schedules to better suit his needs without verifying it with the rest of the crew. He does this without asking Flip if it's okay. He needs to "grow up" about what schedules he is given, life is not always fair. He turns into a cry baby when he doesn't get his way. He also likes to call in people earlier then scheduled so he isn't alone. Half of the time he stands at the register with no customers in line, instead of cleaning up behind the counter and putting away shop backs.
emily hilton manager who put customers on fb and cuss to customers
On facebook she calling ppl out saying better do this do that. She recently posted a picture of shopping carts out side complaining of lazy customers. I certainly do not want to come back. Talks aboutppl when they come inside making them feel uncomfortable. Takes selfies of aging at work. Rude hate ful. Will not help ppl ignores them. Has ppl call in on other employees. Very very un professional. Will talk about customers and employees while checking people out. Will complain about her budget for staffing and her having to work. Her current boyfriend is up there non stop. He's in there during closed hours dates I think she is racist also
why are they closing early?
I do not know the store number. The store is located in Columbia La on 165 next to Dukes Hardware. At 10:40 I pulled into the parking lot and not only were they already closed but all employees were gone home. This isn't the first time this has happened. They are the only store open that late and sales diapers and especially on Saturday night they should stay open until their close time.
To be more helpful then Chris most stores in my area I am not sure about yours went back to closing at 10 pm on the first on this year. Since the employees were all gone I suppose this is what happened hope this helps. Corporate changes closing times not the employees.
Should've known how many diapers the baby has and not wait til the last minute to discover you need to buy them. Bad parenting.
two female workers for discrimination
There is a Facebook post by Haley Page that need to be check into. Two female worker in Huntingdon TN treated a man very poorly due to his race. The things that were said to him were very inappropriate. Something should be done about this kind of behavior. This is a copy of the post "My feelings are so hurt right now...people are so mean. I was at dollar general here in Huntingdon and as I was doing some shopping I heard a lady say "What the hell are you looking at? Everytime I look up you're staring at me" I didn't hear anything else. So as I went to check out I got in line behind a male Mexican. I could feel the tension in the air but I wasn't for sure what happened. As he started checking out there's two woman workers and one is sitting there staring at him and the other is checking his items out. His total was $20 so all he had was 1s and he was slowly bringing them out one by one. The lady was getting aggravated and was rolling her eyes the whole time. He only gave her $15 and gave him attitude and said "that's only $15" so he started giving her more and she aggressively took it from him. He grabs his change and starts walking out while the other lady worker was sitting there with her arms crossed and giving him a bad look and the man said "what are you looking at? She literally shewed him out the door and yelled "GO BACK TO WHERE THE WALL IS" I was beyond furious and i asked her what he did? And the girl couldn't even give me a good reason and said "he was just staring me and we've had problems since he's came in" (I was there just as long as he was and I didn't see him cause a bit of a problem!) I responded and said "well that was very harsh what you said" she said "I don't really care" I said "you didn't have to tell him to go back to the wall that was very harsh of you" her response was "I'm white, what is he?!" I straight up told both of them they will NOT be getting any more of my business that that was very uncalled for. And walked out. If I wouldn't have already paid for my stuff I would have told them to keep everything and walk out. My heart was broke and I felt so bad for him 😞 it's people like her that just crawl under my skin! all I could do it cry bc people are just so mean and hateful and don't care 😞"
the manager of this store
I have come into dollar general in Hoxie KS everyday and the manager Micah sits in the bathroom or in the office or the back warehouse and sits around not doing his job and hiding from customers non stop...there are 3 other employees that work hard in doing their jobs to make a better store for our town but they get put down pushed around and they don't get a thank you or a raise...I also don't understand if a manager walks out on his job in mid shift he can turn around and get his job back like it wasn't anything...I would like to know what you ppl are going to do about this bc if something doesn't happen you'll probably lose more then you want...we are the customers that keep your store going not the other way around... thank you and have a good day...

store clerk at store # 1511. monticello, ms
I shop at this store frequently. They never have the kind of dog food I use stocked on shelves its always on carts. Ask the clerk if I could get some off of cart and she was very rude and said that stockers were gone already and she wasn't lifting that stuff. I offered to get it myself and she refused. Most of the time you can't even get down the isles for the stock buggies. Somebodies not doing there jobs. Never more than 2 workers in store sometimes only one.
management
The manager, Melissa Atkins located at 1801 Airline Dr Suite B, Metairie, La 70005 is becoming increasingly dangerous to shoppers. On 1/17/19 at approximately 1644 hours, Melissa called 911 advising there were shoplifters in the store. Before police arrived, the two black male shoppers had left the location and did not steal anything. Video surveillance shows one black male selecting approximately a handful of items from the hygiene section totaling approx 20.00 or less and Melissa called 911 reporting he was shoplifting because she believed he was going to run out of the store. As the male was still browsing the aisle Melissa armed herself with a box cutter, because she said she was not certain what he was going to do, then walked up to him, slapped the shopping hand cart from his hand and told him to leave. The male never attempted to flee the store with merchandise. All this occurred while he was merely a shopping customer. Melissa committed aggravate assault, but luckily the customer did not wish to pursue charges. Melissa has been informed in the past on multiple occasions that she is not to engage with shoplifters as she is not loss prevention and if theft is such a concern by Dollar General, they would hire security, whether private or public.
employee harassment
Constantly being watched and followed by dollar general employees. Also when they say you are stealing when you aren't but know for sure STORE MANAGER CHECKS FAMILY OUT AND GIVES THEM 2 FOR 1? The hwy 16 store in port Vincent, louisiana... manager Tiffany eccles Employees whom follow and steal from customers bags..I was threatened at this store location saying I was stealing..I'm disgusted I demand an apology and not want to be belittled by your employees whom blame others to cover their own schemes.
store appearance
The current store is in such a mess. Daytime stockin, can't get down isle, stocker won't move if you need to go down isle. Can't tell what prices are on some items. I purchased a 2.00 item and was charged 3.00. Employee too busy smoking instead of working inside. Only one register open when there is a line. Previous manager kept store in pristine condition. Don't know what her name was but she was female with male characteristics. She was good
service
Why are these people so damn hateful in these stores. They are lazy and don't want you to even ask the price for anything. The stores in my area are a mess the isles are full of items covering the floor and no one cares to clean it up. I wish that I were a dm or rm for dollar general I would fire everyone of these lazy people if these stores did not get cleaned up. Its ridiculous! I went into several dg in my area today to buy some of the christmas clearance and only one store was willing to give my prices. Question (when will all christmas item (candy, baking christmas décor) be marked at 70% or more in the location in or near 29010? I would greatly appreciate a answer.
Thank you,
Cheryl
mercy! wow these comments lol but to each his own...any way Christmas is already marked down to 70% and has been for over a week and if your store does not have the signs posted then they are behind...no one should ever be rude when helping customers...without customers DG wouldn't stay open...not all DG stores look bad or have rude employees...most stores don't get the proper hours to run the store to expectations as needed so therefore things get behind and its hard to catch up and of course its's not the customers fault it is poor DG management from way up top and they rather overlook/ignore then to fix anything... fill out the DG customer first survey on you receipt and rate your shopping experience...believe me they really do pay attention to the surveys and by all means call the corporate office and complain...they have a system in place to address these concerns...
The DG Market in my small town is an absolute mess and I blame it on poor management. The manager always gives me the excuse because is company policy, the distribution center doesn't ever send enough or my favorite it's state law knowing that anyone can fact check state law. Just like this last occurrence, he said that the new state law (Oklahoma) only allows 21 liquor license to a store as an excuse as to why I had to wait 10m in line for a manager to sale another lady her six pack of beer. I have looked that up and found it was a bold face lie, so I have written a very lengthy email and pasted the state law in it. DG needs to reevaluate their management training and get managers that really care.
With your attitude, you would never get hired as a DM or a RM. As far as you wishing those employees being fired, I hope you someday have to live without a paycheck or without a job not having any kind of income coming in, then you would know how it feels. You have no clue how DG operates.
montpelier ohio
I drove 20 minutes to dollar general in montpelier ohio. The store has its hours on line and on the front door of the store "8a-10p everyday". On 1-14-19 at 8:57pm I was at this store for medicine only to find the doors locked. It was closed. I wasted my gas and time driving in the wrong direction just to have to go a different direction to find a walmart which is always open. I'm okay if the store closes earlier than 10p, but please don't advertise that it's open when it clearly closes before 10pm.
management/customer service
Manager is a [censored] and raisers her voice to customers when can't get her items to ring up properly, according to the signs she has posted. I was also once waiting in long line when there were there were 4 employees in store and only 1 til open. I asked her to open another and was told I could wait, I put down my items and walked out of the store. She is rude and very unprofessional.
It takes one to call somebody one.
can't sell tobacco products
For over 1 month your new store in fawn grove pa. Can't sell tobacco products because the lock broke. They keep saying we called it in. Wow a simple maintenance issue taking about 7 weeks seems to be bit over the top. Please can someone fix the lock. The employee's say sorry but we called it in and corporate said they will take care of it? But today again pulled up and sign is still on door "sorry can't sell cigarettes" wow! I go on & they said sorry we called it on and as well as your lot was a mess I said someone's going brake a leg they said I know we called it in when we opened my thought is it should of been done before it opened! We got 8 inches of snow. Help this store please.
Thank you,
Lisa gargiulo
You don't need the cigarettes anyway, they're bad for your health.
customer service/one employee working
I shop regularly at store #12441, Lafollette, TN 37766-5121
115 Calhoun Rd
Aso a regular customer, daily, and former employee and front end manager of Kroger store I appreciate good customer service and a viable relationship with this stores employees. They are without question the best DG in our area and there are many.
Employees do great job and are friendly and courteous to those of us that shop here.
My complaint is that you've cut the hours to the point where these people are working many long hours ALONE. This should not be expected of these employees. It's not safe anywhere and especially these stores located out in the middle of no where. I go in more often just to check and make sure they are ok.
Take a look at the people that show up just as you open/ or late before they close.
It's unsafe, and totally not to be accepted by employees or customers. You make darn good money at these stores and have little to no regard to what they have to endure just to make DG more money.
What does it take for you to think more of your employees and their safety and make a better work environment for them, thus keeping the customers coming back?
I've been there, done that.
I understanding scheduling, the need to make a bigger profit, and all that incurs
But not at the risk of safety and health of dedicated employees.
Not at this store or any other.
My name is Catherine Burrell, [protected] and I will be calling Corporate on Monday.
I expect an answer by phone, or in my email. [protected]@gmail.com.

Awsome. Keep bugging corporate until something is done about this or they need to close the store down. DG DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYEES AND THEY ARE SO PETTY WITH BEING 1-3 MINUTES LATE. HOW STUPID. THEY NEED TO FOCUS MORE ON TREATING EMPLOYEES GOOD AND STOP THIS GREEDY STUFF CUZ ITS ALL ABOUT THEM...DM...AND CORPORATE
Employee making complaint on Store Manager
Did you ever get an answer or even a phone call from them? The truth of the matter is they don't give a [censored]. If you did hear from them they probably told you something they thought you would like to hear, with no follow through. This company has been taken to court for treating their store employees unfair more times than any other company in the last decade, but still nothing changes unless it's a change for the worst.
product/digital coupons
The manager along with employees are so unprofessional. They look as if they just rolled out of bed and went to work...I go shop there because i work in the same shopping center but everytime i go and try to use my digital app. They claim they are sold out or they cannot honor the sale because the item is not on sale at their store..this is an everyday thing..They also have a basket with seasonal items on clearance but when i get to register the cashier says the item is not on clearance so she cannot honor the clearance price, , come to find out the employees are buying all the clearance items...The reason i know is because i have a relative that used to work at that store but she transferred to another location because the manager is all about favoritism
the store is closed during store hours
I go to st Bernard Ohio 45217 location every night they have been closed early during store hours one too three nights out of a week for the past three months.its about 8-30 through 9 at night when I visit the store.it is open till ten o clock...it is really starting to make me agravated.the first couple times they would put notes saying they are understaffed on the window but now they just lock the door with no sigh.i just figured I'd bring this too your attention.

Agreed on all points for that store
