Air Berlin overbooked flight charged

Hello, my name is [removed], yesterday (23.04.17) i suppose to fly from Sofia to Vienna at at 19:50 pm Flight AB 4983 . I booked my flight the same day 23.04. 17. the payment was submitted and i receive the invoice and booking conformation :
Invoice number: [protected]/1
Booking number: RNOISQ
Booking date: 23/04/2017
total amount 187.67$
The payment was made with my husband card and our names are different PAUL Hatziiliades. just to clarify this never happened before and i always pay with his card.
When i approached the counter for check-in( sponsored by Bulgaria Air ) the attendant told me there is suspension on my ticket and that i need to call Air Berlin to find out why it says that my ticket is suspend, she assumed the flight was overbooked.
it was 7:40 pm when finally your Representative answered and explain that the payment was not charged, due to different names or passenger and card holder and i need to present the card of payment and my id to the check in counter . the flight was leaving in 5 min and nobody cared to tell me that at the check -in counter. This sound insane
! I WAS CHARGED and I missed my flight ! We are in EU and by law you you are supposed to put me on another flight AND give me the penalty money witch is 250 euro (becasue the flight was less than 1500km)
We never had a problem with paying with my husband card with any other air company . its the first time this happens .
So am looking to hear from you with your resolution on this problem your company cost me .

Air Berlin cancelled flights

Good afernoon,

One of our passengers was booked on the morning flight from dus/szg, but when arriving at the airport he was told the flight was cancelled and replaced by a flight to munich with continuation with a bus.

The passenger was told on the bus that he could ask for a refund. Please inform us if we can receive a refund for the delay. Passenger left this morning and will return this evenening.

Please findas well the written the complaint of the passenger :

Dear,

This morning my flight to salzburg was cancelled again. This happened also two weeks ago. So twice in two weeks!

For me this is unacceptable and not workable. Besides this the ladies at the service desk are dramatic!. They should not be at a service desk. Not skilled at all and very poor communication skills. They do not understand that it gives people problems if your flight is cancelled.

You get no info at all at this service desk and they do not put any effort to try to solve your problem. You have to change this otherwise it will have a further impact on the reputation of your company.

I do expect a professional answer of you. Should I book again this flight to salzburg in the future? Should I choose your company again in the future?

Kind regards,

A very disappointed customer!

Air Berlin bad customer service and unethical behavior

I flew AirBerlin on 27.03.17. My luggage did not make it onto my flight from Berlin to ORD. on flight number AB7420. As I was left without clothes for a few days, many AirBerlin customer service people told me to buy the necessities and I would be compensated, I even have the call recorded. I filed a complaint with AirBerlin including my receipts, complaint number V1600734, and was told I would receive a 50 Euro compensation on my next reservation. All I want is my $170 reimbursement I was told I would receive due to the airlines lack of intelligence to load my luggage onto the flight.

First and foremost, never put medicines that are required in checked-in luggage. Always keep in your hand luggage. This is Common Sense.

Secondly, if the flight was with a single airline from Catania all the way though to NY, put in a complaint to the Air Berlin website who will refund hotel & Taxi which will be straightforward.

If the 2 legs were different airlines, you still may be able to gain compensation through what is known as Folkerts Ruling of 2013 (google it). You might face a bit of a problem if the delay was less that 3 hours, but it would be worth pursuing Air Berlin on this.

Air Berlin reference 1594600

I asked on march 19 for a certification form from Air berlin, why my fly was delayed on February 27 from Miami to Dusseldorf Ab7001 and for that delayed we missed the connection fly. So we had to waited hours for next fly. I already explained that we have a insurance policy for that. We just need the certification from you to send to them. Please can you send as soon as possible. Thank you

Air Berlin refund

I purchased a ticket for my mother that has terminal cancer with Air Berlin, it was a gift for her to visit me before she underwent chemotherapy. Unfortunately, her ESTA to enter USA was denied for unknown reasons and I had to cancel the flight. I contacted AirBerlin and provided proof of the ESTA denial and requested a name change so that I can use the ticket and travel to see her. Air Berlin denied me that request, so I requested a refund after I cancelled and that was denied too. I submitted a dispute with my credit card company and after an extensive investigation they closed the dispute on my favor granting me the refund for my ticket. Now...Air Berlin is threatning a cancer ill patient for $372 and I can't believe this airline is so heartless. First of all I purchased the ticket for my mother so if there is someone you need to take legal action against is me not my mother and second you people should be ashamed of yourselves.

Air Berlin returning item left on plane

My son was on Flight AB7249 Seat 38h . It was on Thursday Feb 24. That flight was 45 minutes late and ran off plane to catch connecting flight to Stockholm. He missed the flight. He realized he left his Orange Apple Laptop in the pocket in front of the seat. I called and they said I had to fill out a complaint. I did. I was following up and the website gave me error message stating it could not find confirmation. Below is AIRberlin email confirmation. My contact # is [protected]. I thought someone might have returned it to your staff.

Air Berlin cancelled booking without informing me.

I had a booking on the 31 of January from Catania to Stockholm, with one stop in Berlin.
When I sat on the plane, just before landing, the stewardess informed me that I had been cancelled from my connecting flight, and been rebooked to another flight 4.5 hours later. I wasn't told the reason. At the airport in Berlin I asked the landcrew at the office of Air Berlin why all this had happened, but they couldn't answer me. Then I asked if they could provide me food and drink . They gave me a bottle of water and salted biscuits!?! As a consequence of the delay I missed my booked flight from Stockholm to Visby in Sweden, and I had to sleep in hotel plus buy a new flight the day after, to Visby, where I was gpoing for business.
It all became very stressful, expensive and inconvenient, trying to find a hotel and book a new flight, in the middle of the night. I hope you will replace the costs I had to put out.
Have a nice evening

Air Berlin lost and damaged luggage

Hello, me and my 2 kids traveled to Berlin TXL and all 3 of our luggage got lost . We were in Berlin without winter clothes for 3 days. We got our luggage back after 3 days. And on Jan 7, 2017 was our flight back home to Fort Myers and 2 of our luggage was lost. Today is Tuesday and we landed on Saturday and 1 Luggage is still missing. The one that got delivered was tremendous damaged and everything inside was opened and glass was all over our clothes...
How big is the possibility that luggages get lost in the way to your vacation destination and back?
I am very disappointed and very very mad.
I filed a lost complaint at the airport in Fort Myers and now I have to take time out of my day to file all the complaints online too.
I am very very unhappy about my airline and I didn't even get anyone to call me or to see if they can do something for me

Air Berlin 2nd bag fee

Hello, I was flying on dec 6th on flight ab7211 from miami to berlin and then flight ab8242 from berlin to prague. My booking was with cheapoair (Booking confirmation#[protected]). I understand that the 1st bag allowance is 23 kg. I had 26 kg extra charged as a 2nd bag at $187.00, which to me is outrageous! I understand, other airlines charge 2nd bag fee, but usually around $90.00 or so, not $187.00 like your airline did. Also, when I am looking at my print-out receipt/label for my 2nd bag (#0 745 ab 412912) and it says 2/33kg, which I think is incorrect and therefore charging me for 2 bags of 33 kg each and. I would appreciate if you review the above. I have kept all my receipts and documents because I wanted to follow up in regards to this matter upon my return from my trip.

Air Berlin my ticket was cancelled

Dear customer services
Air berlin

Booking reference ref: 7mdvot
Invoice no: [protected]/1
Booking date: 11/11/2016

On 11/11/2016 I book my flight on line with your airline one way ticket on december 23 from berlin (Txl) to madrid (Mad). I received confirmation from you and I assume all is ok.
I live in usa and on december 17 arrived to begin and my plan to go to madrid on december 23.
On december 22, I received email from you for time to check in. However, I was not able to check in on line and I ask the intercontinental berlin hotel concierge mr. Mario weihrich to help me. After he talked with your reservation department I was told that the reservation was cancelled and I cannot make reservation with air berlin any more. (You can confirm what I am saying to you with mr. Mario weihrich)
I t was very strange answer and did not believed it. He gave me the phone and the lady from your reservation department told me the same.
I was very depressed and concern and my trip to madrid was cancelled. I had to come back to usa.
Now I want you to tell me what did happen? Why it did happen? Why I was told I can fly with air berlin anymore?
Also, I paid $ 870 to change my flight and come back home in usa from berlin instead from madrid.
Now I request a compensation for my losses and refund for my ticket.
Thank you
Abbas mehdi

Air Berlin flight ab6506 from october 12, 2016

On October 12, 2016, the Air Berlin flight 6506, from Cologne/Bonn to Berlin, was cancelled without any notice. About 20 minutes after the supposed departure time, a staff member brought the Information that there was no Crew to fly the plane. It was only the first trouble Air Berlin caused to us in that day, because we had a flight from Berlin to Moscow at 3:40pm, whose estimated Arrival time in Moscow was 7:25pm. Air Berlin sent us to Berlin in a late flight (AB6508), but naturally we missed our booked flight to Moscow in that day. Once we arrived in Berlin, we found out that there were no later direct flights to Moscow. Then, the improvisation started. Air Berlin rebooked us to a flight to Prague (AB8246) at 4:57pm, but the departure time was 5:45pm. We tried to get help from some staff on ground, because we knew that we had only 33 mintues to get the Boarding passes and perform the security check. But no one from Air Berlin helped us. Of course we missed the flight to Prague. Again, we had to go back to the Company front desk to ask for another rebooking. This time, Air Berlin offered an option of flight to London and then Moscow, whose estimated Arrival time in the Destination was 5am. This last offer was naturally unacceptable. At the end, Air Berlin rebooked our flight for the next day. It is amazing how a flight from Cologne/Bonn, departing at 1:50pm of October 12, 2016, could arrive in Moscow at 7:25pm of October 13, 2016. I have never had a bad experience with flights like that in my life. Air Berlin was the worst Airline Company in the world on October 12, 2016.

Air Berlin changed gate and lost luggage

On July 10th, I checked into Zurich International Airport at approximately 12:20. I had gotten my boarding pass, checked my bag, gone through security and proceeded to my gate, B35, for my departing flight at 2:55. While sitting at my gate for 2 hours, I thought it was strange that boarding had not begun yet but I had not been notified of any delays or gate changes. Not more than 10 seconds after I had stood up, I was greated by a gentleman from AirBerlin asking if I was Ms. Quinn, I said yes and he told me that I had missed my flight. I was then told that the gate had been changed and they had been paging me. How is it possible that while I was only FOUR gates down, I had not heard a single page and the Airberlin employee could so easily identify me? I was then told that I needed to essentially exit the airport and go to ticketing to change my flight. Upon arrival to ticketing, I was told that I had "missed my flight" and needed to purchase an entirely new one. How does a person checked in more than two hours beforehand who had been sitting at the gate be considered as "missing the flight". After much back and forth with ticketing, the cheapest ticket was one that flew over night to Morocco then JFK for 745 swiss francs, but let's not forget the 60 swiss franc charge and the international exchange rate. So after adding 12 plus hours to my travel time and subtracting that much money from my account, I land in JFK and can not locate my bag. The greatest part about the entire ordeal is that although I did not have time to board the plane. they sure had enough time to take my baggage off of the plane. I did not know that the airline could remove a person's luggage from a flight. Especially when the bag was tagged to go to New York with a personal address. After arriving in JFK, I went from terminal to terminal trying to locate someone from AirBerlin because I was told I could only deal with a representative from the company but JFK does not have representatives unless there is a flight. So after traveling for 30 hours, I needed to wait FOUR more to speak with an employee to locate my bag. When I finally met with someone, she told me that my bag was still in Switzerland and should arrive today (7/11) or tomorrow and would be delivered to my house. Today is July 14th, and I still have no luggage. After calling lost and found yesterday, I was told that my bag has JUST left Zurich and would arrive that day. They needed to wait for it to be delivered to their terminal and THEN they would send it out with no clarification of when it would arrive. I have missed job opportunities and daily life waiting for a SUITCASE. Throughout this entire ordeal, I have called endless phone numbers that either disconnected or had full voicemail boxes. I have tried calling 1800 numbers, hotlines, anything to help locate my bag or to voice a complaint. I travel for work and up until this experience, traveling was one of my passions but now I am horrified at the thought of having to get on another plane. Not only was the way this situation was handled poorly done, but here was no service willing to offer assistance or answers. I have never dealt with an airline so greedy and careless. I will never book myself or anyone in my company on this airline again and highly recommend anyone to fly with other airlines. All I've wanted was the respect to be heard and my stuff to be taken care of but that seemed to be too much to ask of AirBerlin.

Air Berlin luggage management

I Have One World Emerald elite status and thought (erroneously) that all One World partner airlines provided the same quality service. That is the first debunked myth. Air Berlin has the worst costumer service of all the airlines I've flown over the years. We were booked on a flight from JFK to TXL on 06/11/2016, but our two checked bags never arrived. Even though the AA system clearly located the bags location as JFK, when I filed a complaint at TXL as soon as I arrived (06/12/2016), the Air Berlin system was completely unable to locate the bags over one full week, and all attempts failed when trying to communicate to Air Berlin that their own One World partner (AA) had located the bags at JFK. I've lost all hope of finding my bags, and will begin what I expect will be a painful process to get Air Berlin to reimburse: 1) the stuff I had to buy given that they lost my bags; 2) the full content of the bags; and 3) the bags themselves. I will continue to post reviews on the process of this next step, but I doubt Air Berlin will be helpful at all (given current experience). I have also communicated with AA upper management, and filed a letter requesting that AA reconsider their partnership with Air Berlin. I have also warned everyone I know through social media, to NEVER fly Air Berlin. No wonder Air Berlin is not BBB accredited. They would never be up-to-par. Clearly, they haven't been able to shed the terrible LTU legacy that they carry (and apparently want to hide).

Air Berlin this is a 2nd complaint

This is a 2nd complaint
Dear Air Berlin CEO / complaint department :

On behalf of my parents Anna and Marian Kulawiak who are in their 70's seniors, as their daughter Marzena, I am making a complaint on their behalf.

On Sep. 26, 2015 Mrs. Kulawiak were at Chicago O'Hare on time, to departure from Chicago O'Hare, IL stop at Berlin Tegel, Germany and continue to Krakow, Poland. Unfortunately They were denied boarding at Chicago when they got there the counter was closed. Although we had made calls to the number that was displayed at the counter with not a soul to talk to in person but only on the phone, we were told that there is nothing that could be done for us, and we were told that we got there too late. No one would even consider or hear what we had to say, nor we were treated with dignity and respect. I strongly believe that for a large and competent Airlines you would have someone behind the counter if anything were to happen. Because life is full of surprises, and we never know what comes our way, considering that statement no one would even hear us out about an accident that had occurred on the freeway on our way to the airport even if we left our house early and that there was 2 lane closure because of the accident, nor they would take into consideration that these are Frail Elderly adults and do not have their functional mobility as well intact as other generation nor ability to move fast enough...I am not even going to go into details about their status of heart disease and asthma...e.c.t.
So with pain in their chest and increased blood pressure my parents went back home in tears, and of course they had nowhere to go because they were supposed to flight out that same day, they had to find a place to stay. I am in disbelief of what had happened to my parents and how they were treated and brutally sent home. The next day we returned to the airport as we wanted to explain what had happened the day before, but they told us at the counter that there was nothing that could be done and no re-booking of the ticket would take place.
My parents departed that next day of Sept 27, 2015 by using other airline, but however paying for tickets again.
We would like to claim money back for 2 tickets for Mrs. Kulawiak

Sincerely,
Marzena Gaslawski
