We were ready on the 21th of july to enter the aircraft, everything went Ok, then the lady calls the letters of the group to enter the craft, My husband misunderstood and was yelt out to listen better, So we waited, we had booked XL Seats and had to wait, No problem for us. But what then happend was undiscrible. Another Domenican lady did not understood the letter from the group and then the lady from the incheck balie went crazy and was screaming to everbody. She was So rude to the Domenican ladie and said that she has to listen like everybody. The lady said that she doesn't understood it, then the airberlin lady said if she didn't shut up she would take her pasport and she had to stay in Düsseldorf. You don't treat people like that. All the people were shocked. I m So sorry I didn't filmed it! It would have made the newsletters Across the world. I don't think this is good advertising for Your aircompany and maeby you can Speak the lady from the boarding about it! Flightnr AB 7446

Air Berlin extra luggage refund, cancelled flight, day lost of work

dear air berlin
my name is irene foglia i booked a flight with your company on july 6 2017 from jfk new york to italy florence with a lay over to dusseldorf.
my husband, andrea lucignani and i were happy to receive great hospitality.
our joy was soon disappointed on our flight back.
on july 23 2017 we had an 11:30 flight from florence italyt to dusseldorf, 4 hours lay over and a fly back to new york.
that day we were not able to fly...
after check in and waiting to embark an airport operator announced few minutes delay...
normal...few minutes after we are told that there is a problem to the tire of the air craft...and a technician from bologna supposed to arrive...
we had now a delay of 2 hours until further notice..
the 2 ours go by and we are told to go back at arrival get our luggage, go to check in to see what it could be done because our flight was cancelled.
my husband and i could still have made the flight from dusseldorf if air berlin was able to handle the situation differently...
when we got to the airport check in the lady told us that there were no more flights out of florence that we need it to call the company operator and see what they could do.
my husband did so and we were booked on an air france flight who had already close the check in..
we got back on line to only find out that we were going to fly the next day..
unfortunately my husband and i lost a full day of work..
for us a big money lost because we work on commissions..
also we are still waiting on a 175 euro refund for the extra luggage, since we had to pay 80 euro with air france for our extra luggage because we did not fly
with air berlin but with air france...
we were told that in 2 business day the refund would be process today august 5 someone also told us that it takes up to 14 business day from july 26 that the refund was process.
it looks like that the company as no knowledge of what customer service is
i am sorry to say that we had a terrible experience and i hope that air berlin will be able to in some way make us change our mind.
our ticket reference number [protected]
best regards
irene foglia

Air Berlin call center

Dear Sirs,
By way of introduction my name is Rustina Ossodoyeva. I would like to inform you that I had very unpleasant experience with you Air Berlin call center.
I have tried to register my 5 suitcases for 35 Euro each yesterday - 30 hours before flight. But due to error on Air berlin website, my card hasn't been accepted. Then, first thing in the morning I called to Air berlin call center and asked for helped to check in my luggage.
The call operator - lady was very unfriendly and nervous, I could feel how she was annoyed by my call. Call assistant didn't try to help me- She said that it is my problem.
Then, I asked her to try second time. Eventually, my Visa debit card transaction proceeded.
But due to Air Berlin website error, I lost the opportunity to register my baggage for 35 Eur instead of 90 Eur and has been rudely treated by the Call operator.
I will not recommend this Air line to anyone.

Air Berlin refund of unused/cancelled flight, oversized luggage that, never arrived clothing purchased

My son was on Team USA & played in the World Games in Wroclaw, Poland July 22-24th. His flight from Tegal Airport in Berlin was cancelled & the ticket that was issued to him for the next day did not get him to Warsaw in time, so we had to make other arrangements to get him there. He ended up taking a bus with other team members. We are requesting a refund for this portion of the flight. I am unsure what that $ value is because I purchased this round trip flight as a package. His luggage was lost & we didn't receive it until July 23rd around 7pm. Among the 2 pieces of lost luggage was his equipment bag that we paid $195 to ship here. We are requesting a full refund of that amount.
In addition to the above items, we were told to go out & purchase clothes & whatever we needed to get us by until our luggage was found. Because my son is so big 6'5" 300 pounds, we couldn't find anything the first days. July 23rd, we went to the airport in Wroclaw 3 times trying to find answers about the luggage. We had quite the language barrier. The men at the Lost/Damaged Luggage counter finally told us our luggage was shipped back to Santa Rosa, California, USA, to our home 1151 Comalli Street. At that point we had to find clothes for him. We searched & drove for hours looking for stuff. Such an inconvenience. We finally found basic items & were driving back to our apartment in Wroclaw to a Courier there waiting with the luggage. This has caused us so much wasted time that we were not able to see much of the World Games activities.

Lost ticket # TXLAB39611

Air Berlin 2 day loss of vacation time

registered this complaint on june 17 still no reply. on june 5th my fiancé (ann gacquin) and myself (Theodore mourousas) left on trip to Milan Italy via air berlin flight 7473 from boston mass usa to duesseldorf then to Milan flight 8740. our luggage did not arrive. told to report to claims department. we finally finished claim approximately 1400 hours. we went to get our car rental but because we were over 4 hours late no economy cars were available till next day. we took taxi to hotel (30 euros) we missed our time slot to visit painting of the last supper which was one of the reasons for trip. we returned to airport for luggage did not arrive until 1230 hours. my fiancés luggage was severely damaged told to report a claim. which we did (claim linab11311/07jun170953gmt) now its approximately 1400 hrs we go get car rental and proceed to our next reservation in Padua Italy not arriving until 1700 hrs. missing our tour of ST Anthonys tomb . Again main reason for trip he is our patron saint. We had reservations in Florence next day so we were unable to visit st Anthony shrine. We did enjoy our flight the service and food was very good. my fiancé and I are asking for some flight compensation towards a return trip as to revisit Milan and Padua via your airlines. thank you for any consideration in this matter. Air Berlin lost baggage

My mother and I were returning to Chicago from Rome with a transfer in Berlin on July 21, 2017. My booking number is: N4EAHC. On our original flight to Rome we were allowed to carry on our baggage. On return, due to being one of the last people to board in Rome, we were asked to check our bags at the gate.

We were given baggage tags from NIKI (0745 AB 66 33 22; 075 AB 66 3321). On arrival in Berlin (TXL) we were in a huge line at passport control. Other passengers with connecting flights leaving 5 minutes before our flight were ushered through while we were forced to wait at the back of the line. There was conflicting information about when our flight would be leaving. The screen said "boarding at 9:25- Flight AB7420", yet I received an email saying that the flight was delayed until 10:05. I was one of the last people to get cleared through passport control. (It just so happens that 4 other passengers who did not receive bags in O'hare were also at the back of the line)

Upon arrival at O'Hare, after waiting (hours) for our baggage, we we told that the bags did not arrive. We went to O'Hare's Air Berlin Lost Baggage. The 3 staff there (one representative who did not work for Air Berlin but was asked to help out) were busy helping at least 5 other customers with lost baggage. The woman who submitting a CLAIMS FORM did not enter my baggage tag numbers (previously entered). She then gave me a phone number to call regarding any concerns at the O'Hare baggage department.

My house and car keys were in my checked bag. I was not expecting to check my baggage. I had to wait 3 hours at the airport waiting to hear from my landlord to see if he could let me in my apartment. When getting to my apartment I then had to wait another 30 minutes in the rain with my mother waiting to be let in.

Upon finally sitting down, I called the phone number I was given at O'Hare [protected])...Not Accepting Calls... I read the fine print and read Accepting Calls FROM 11:00-16:00. Then went to the baggage claims check from the Air Berlin site- "World Tracer"- (Tracing Continues, Please Check Back Later) is what popped up after entering all information. Claims #(ORDAB12572) Last Name (Zahran).

Did this several times- same response. Then emailed [protected]@swissport.com- no response. Emailed again with updated information after a few hours- no response. Again emailed with updated information- no response.

After going to bed that evening with no information and my mother staying with me (she had wanted to leave as she lives in another state but decided to stay until further updates on her baggage) The first thing I did in the morning was to see if my bag and her bag got on the AIR BERLIN flight on July 22 (Flight AB7420). If it did- she would stay until it got here- if it didn't she would leave. Called the New York Customer Service Number. The representative could provide no additional information.

I forwarded all emails to [protected]@dolfi1920.de. (Provider in Berlin handling lost/damaged bags) -...no response...

I made multiple international calls +49 030 [protected] - first a busy signal, called later, dropped call.

I called the info line (two times- given two different numbers +49 [protected], +40 [protected]) ...No response...

I was told no compensation would be given to me unless I had receipts (which may or may not be honored) I have obviously spent countless hours and energy on this matter. I do not have records of my phone bill at this time. I would like to know where my bags are and when they arriving in Chicago so my mother can plan on when to leave.

Air Berlin name problem in booking - married name vs maiden name

Dear Sir, Madam,
I kindly ask you for assistance in my delicate situation. On January 9, 2017 I made a booking number ZR74Z6. When filling the form, I used auto-fill to put my address, and I did not pay attention that it also - automatically - changed my name. Instead of my unmarried name it put my married name. I perfectly know that I should have put my passport name, I always do so. This time, it was a purely technical mistake and my momentary lack of attention. Yesterday, I had a look at the booking and was in shock. I immediately called AirBerlin call centre, twice, and two different people said I would have serious problems to access the flight. One person from the call centre advised me to get the marriage certificate and "be convincing" though he could not guarantee that I would be able to fly. I was willing to pay additional fee he mentioned (75 euros) for name change but he would not accept this because my marriage took place BEFORE the booking. I was so terribly stressed and decided to make another booking with a right name to make sure I would be able to take this plane. So, I bought another ticket for quite an important sum for the same flight. I could not stand living in worry for a month guessing whether they will let me onboard or not.
However, I am deeply convinced such a situation deserves a more human approach (that many other companies apply) - a name change free of charge or for a reasonable fee.
May I please ask for your kind understanding and money reimbursement for the first booking.
As a proof of my identity, I have a French residential permit with both names on it. Morevover, my married name is also IN my passport, but not on the main page. It's on the residential decision sticker on some random page. I also have a marriage certificate, and I can scan and send you all these documents right away. I think this is enough to prove that I'm the same person.
I will be sincerely grateful for this commercial gesture, as I'm often flying with AirBerlin. In fact, your company is my number one choice when I fly from Paris to Moscow. I just can't pay 550 euros (two tickets combined) for one and the same person without feeling the absurdity of the situation.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Kind regards
Irina Belim

Air Berlin overbooked flight so I missed my connection.

My wife and I booked a flight from Dusseldorf to Dresden, flight 6802 on March 21, 2017. Air Berlin overbooked the flight but did not call for volunteers in exchange for beneficial incentives and even let one very late passenger board the flight. I continued to explain my concern to Air Berlin personnel from the time I checked in that morning, but they were completely unresponsive.

Not Air Berlin or any other airline departed Dusseldorf in time to get us to our connecting flight in Dresden. My wife and I had to rebook our flights and take a train to Amsterdam to catch a flight back to the US.

This cost me approximately $1, 500 and Air Berlin is not reimbursing this cost. Their was nothing I could have done to avoid missing my connecting flight in Dresden. Air Berlin could have followed proper protocol and avoided this additional cost and inconvenience to my wife and I.

Air Berlin lost baggage

July 10 2017 DUS to JFK AB8719 - lost baggage. No contact from Air Berlin after 7 days. One bag waited at JFK for 8 hours. Filed compliants with Ab and Baggage Express and Dolfi and still nothing. Chat isn't available and no one answer the phone. My entire new wardobe for my trip was lost. All makeup and shoes. basically I arrived home with nothing. Apparently no one cares. This is a scam as the online sites show that many other consumers are receiving the same treatment. Bought my ticket through Kayak and they are responding either.

Air Berlin airline

This is the third time i"m tying to report this.
Sat, 15 july, my flight from tegel to jfk was delayed because they held for passengers from another flight. They left 40 minutes late, and then farted around with gates at jfk. When I got to jfk, an agent at the passport line (Not air berlin) told me I was going to miss my connection and I was rebooked for a flight tomorow morning at 5am. Had they bothered to tell me 9 hours earlier in berlin, I might have been able to get my connection to austin changed. This is urgent because I have a disabled husband; i've been on the phone for close to 2 hours and i'lm going to be out $800 for two emergency health care shifts. The ground agent was rude and unhelpful at your desk; I could not get through by phone. Etkt [protected] — arens you had my cell phone number; you could have called
Every time I go through tegel on air berlin, something awful happens. I'm a german teacher, and i'm going to warn everyone off of this disgusting customer service.

Air Berlin lost baggage

On June 23rd I took a flight from JFK to Düsseldorf. My flight was delayed by two hours and not a single passenger was contacted. Yet again on the 10th when I took my 3rd flight with airberlin, it was delayed again. I waited for my bags for 40 minutes and had to leave to catch a connection. It has now been two days and I don't have my missing luggage.

Air Berlin I received my luggage after one week and all my stuff were damaged 100%

My name is Maria Radu. I flew with my children from New York to Budapest with Air Berlin on June 27, 2017. Flight number was AB 7249. Everything started bad.During the flight we had to eat vegetarian food because they didn't have any other meal. We arrived at Berlin Tegel, were we waited in the bus more then one hour because they didn't have enough employees to take care of us. I asked for an wheelchair for my daughter and I received an response:" She can use the bus ? because we can not have an wheelchair available for you to be in time. You have to wait at least 30 minutes for an wheelchair. After we arrived to the next flight through Budapest we have had to wait another hour in the airplane to be able to departure. The flight was AB 8262. The worst thing was that when we arrived to Budapest, one of my luggage was lost and I received it after one week. When I opened my luggage I was shocked: all my stuff was wet, my brand new fur ($ 6000) was ripped, wet, 100% damaged. I really want that this company to pay for my disaster.

Air Berlin denied flight, delayed flights, loss of baggage, refund extra flight

hello,
I had a flight 2/7 from Dusseldorf to Berlin= AB6436
First it had a delay of about 1, 5h, and then, while boarding they told me I was 'on standby' and had to wait. Then, in the end, they said the plane was full, and I couldn't board. No further explanation. I said my Luggage, for which I paid 40 Euro extra, was on the plane. They told me to go get it at Lost and Found. When I finally managed to find it, there was an immense long waiting line. And since I had a meeting in Berlin, I wanted to take the next possible flight, so I asked somebody of the staff there again if it was sure I had to pick up my Luggage there. He told me to go first to Air Berlin and they would tell me what to do next.
There they told me I would get a refund of 250 euro, and was booked on the flight AB6440. They assured me I didn't have to go back to Lost and Found, because my Luggage would be transferred automatically to my next flight.
This flight was again delayed. So instead of having my flight at the original time of 10.25, I only could take a flight at around 15.30h! Which also meant I missed my meeting.
And to make things worse: my luggage didn't arrive with me in Berlin! After some difficulties I found the baggage service, where there again was a long waitingline. they told me they had no clue were my luggage was, they couldn't trace it in the system. And that it could take up to 4 days to recover it, If they recovered it at all.
So since I couldn't do anything in Berlin without my Luggage, and all shaken up because I didn't know if I ever would get it back, I didn't see the point of staying in Berlin anymore. Plus by that time I was so worn out by all the emotions that I went looking for the ticket office to inform myself concerning a flight back to Dusseldorf. Arriving there I found an immense long waiting line. It took me 3hours before it was my turn! I was said it was possible and that I didn't have to pay for it. But then suddenly they told me I did have to pay, and that it was 210 euro! By that time my father was also already on his way to come and get me in Dusseldorf (coming from the Belgian coast, which is a 3, 5 hours drive to Dusseldorf). And because of all the overwhelming emotions and tiredness, I paid for it.
Then also this flight had a delay of 1h= flight AB6453
I think the 250 euro that I (hopefully) will receive to make up for the first delay of my original flight, definitely doesn't cover all the issues and additional arrangments concerning:
-my luggage that got lost
-me breaking up my meeting and my holliday in Berlin, and my father breaking up his holliday and driving 3, 5 hours to come and get me
-the additional cost of 210 euro for the flight back to Dusseldorf
and not to mention all the emotional distress
Up till now I didn't hear anything about my luggage. I tried to contact the lost and found desk in Berlin through telephone, but I got an automatic reply saying it's not their responsibility and that I need to contact Air Berlin directly. But when I did this, I again got an answering machine saying it's not the responsibility of Air Berlin and that I need to contact the airport directly.
I don't know what to do anymore, I really hope I get a refund and that I get my luggage back.
Hope you can help.
thanks

I don't know what to do anymore, I really hope I get a refund and that I get my luggage back.
Hope you can help.
thanks

Air Berlin delayed and destroyed baggage (request of refund)

Hi.
We arrived from Finland to New York (JFK) 18th of June. All of our luggages were delayed. Airberlin airfield worker filled a paper where is our luggages described (we did not get any file number etc.). And we got also a number to call further information. I got information that our luggage will be delivered to our Brooklyn apartment until noon at 19th of June. But it hasn´t happened. After that I have called several times, but got no response. My phone bills will be added to this compaint.

We were forced to buy new clothes and personal items for all of us (we had only t-shirt and shorts wearing on...), because 4 person family in hot New York.

We got the first luggage three days delayed, the second was delayed nine days and the last one newer arrived to our apartment.

Our reference number is JFKAB18035.

I apperciate Your answer,
B.R.

Air Berlin cancelled flight

Dear customer services team,

I am writing regarding a delayed/cancelled Air Berlin flight.

The judgement of the Court of Justice of the European Union in Tui & others v CAA confirmed the applicability of compensation, as set out in the Sturgeon case. As such, I am seeking compensation under EC Regulation 261/2004 for this flight. The details are as follows:

Booking reference: TKRH6Y
Existing complaint reference:
Flight number: AB8261
Departure airport: Budapest
Scheduled departure time: Fri 23/06/17 6:20
Arrival airport: Berlin-Tegel International Airport, TXL

Number of passengers: 2
Other passenger names: Klara Anna Marciniak

Based on the above details, I am seeking the fixed compensation as specified in EC 261/2004.

Two of my and my wife's AirBerlin flights had been cancelled on 23rd June (6.20 and 10.45) which caused for us a lot of loss. We could fly only in the evening at 20.00. We had to spend the whole day, 14 hours, at the Liszt Ferenc Airport - so we must eat and drink more times there. We had to miss my important official tasks in Berlin, which meant for us a significant financial disadvantage, so we've lost a huge amount of money. We had to reorganise all my programs in Berlin by phone - which meant a lot of plus expenses, as well.

I look forward to a full response to this letter within 14 days. If I do not receive a satisfactory response I intend to pursue my complaint further, which could mean taking it to court.

Yours faithfully
Peter Deres
