I had a leak in my bathroom wall that flooded my basement. They sent someone out after I paid a $69 service fee, per our contract. He charged us $300 to remove our sink to gain access to the pipes (they worded the contract carefully so as not to include sink removal as included), cut a hole in our drywall and fixed the leak. Section E.2 of my Agreement states that Choice will pay up to $500 to provide access to Covered Items through walls, ceilings, or floors and “will return the access opening to a rough finish condition.” They left me with a hole in my wall and exposed pipes, saying the warranty company hadn't approved a repair. I called and explained that they haven't returned the access to rough finish condition and they refuse to do so, saying I have to create a new claim for drywall and pay $69 to have a technician come out and repair it. Nowhere in the contract does it state that I am responsible for multiple claims to get my access to rough finished condition. They have closed my case and ignored my protests that it is not complete, saying my only option is to pay $69 and file a new claim. BEWARE! They also pay out super low amounts and only on Lowes gift cards.
Claimed loss: weeks of bathroom sink missing since we can't reinstall it until fixed.
Desired outcome: They would send someone out to complete the repair per our contract, section E2 and return the access space to rough in condition.
