Auto-Owners Insurance Group Horrible customer service and lack of communication

My roof was damaged and once the independent appraiser submitted his estimate, it was downhill from there. The original AO adjuster replied once, then I did not hear from the agent or the other adjusters. There were additional costs that arose once the roof was being replaced, and I sent several emails, left phone messages and finally had to go to the agent's office to get some response. They denied the extra costs but paid the same thing for another AO customer that I know. I sent a list of the dates that I sent each email and made each phone call, and the agent told me that she had replied, but she was unable to provide any emails that show she did. On August 22, I submitted (in person) a receipt for work that was part of the estimate, and 2 weeks later, having heard nothing, I emailed her about it again. Still, no reply. The 3rd week, I called, and she did return my call minutes before they were closing. She said she would submit the receipt then. 3 weeks after I personally delivered it. I sent a reminder email 2 days ago, and I still have not heard anything. Today, it has been 4 weeks since I hand-delivered the receipt, and 2 weeks since I provided additional information regarding the supplemental expenses. No reply except her acknowledgement that she would follow up again 2 days ago. This is ridiculous. I am glad that I have kept track of the correspondence sent to AO adjusters and the agent. I do not see how they can operate like this, but maybe it isn't an issue if there are no claims. The former independent agent was great. I am very disappointed, and they will probably cancel me for complaining.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group In February this year, my spouse and I were hit by a drunk driver while driving home

In February this year, my spouse and I were hit by a drunk driver while driving home. Thankfully we survived the crash due to the type of car we were driving. This being said, the experience in getting a rental and pay out for my totalled car was a great experience. I can't say the same thing for them paying medical bills. It is now almost June and I finally recieved a list of what has been paid and what has not after recieving a threat of collection from one of the providers and escalating to a manager. Guess how many bills have been paid...and there are many. 1 bill since February 12. I still do not have any idea when the bills will be paid and the manager I spoke with stated that it would be handled and that they dropped the ball. I can't help but feel that I am getting the run around here and frankly don't care about the ball or who dropped it. I want those bills paid and should never have been threatened with collections. I pay my auto and home owners insuarnce in full and on time each year. When I need them to pay on time...not possible. Very frustrated in Grand Rapids, MI

We been with these folks over 2 years. My ac unit was hit by lightning and started acting up. It sounds like the unit is about to fall out the ceiling now. I had no issues prior to that. They sent someone out to check and they reported my unit is broken from being to old. This is a bunch of nonsense that we pay our hard earned money for something that take an act of congress to fix the problem. No one have money to just be giving away money for a service that supose to be for us but is not

Honestly a 0 stars! May have been more affordable, but definitely not worth the savings. We recently had a claim where my husband was sideswiped by a tractor. My husband was only 1 foot on the road, pulled over for a tractor. He was hit and damage done down the entire driver's side of the truck. Police report stated tractor was at fault party. My husband is 80% responsible because they were too lazy or it wasn't financially worth it to them to pursue reimbursement.

We have two homes and two cars insured with auto owners. In May, a driver drove into one home and it is now September with not even a clean up of the site. All of the contractors bids that I had to solicit have expired. The adjuster sent us a $13,000 check when verbally they told us a minimum of $50,000 to fix. This check also stipulated that it was for the full amount of the loss. We then lawyered up as he said there is no way you are cashing that check. Since then, Auto Owners has refused our proof of loss, and dragged their feet although they said the drivers insurance, Progressive, would be paying the entire bill. Makes no sense. Now there is no correspondence at all with our attorney, contractors, or us. Do not use Auto Owners for anything. I would not even give one star if I had the choice. I love their motto.Simple human sense. They are the least professional insurance agency out there.

The most unreasonable company there is. We recently purchased a home and the home required updated to remove potentially asbestos siding and roof updates. Originally they presured to have all updates complete in a year. However, contractors are booked out 2+yrs so the work had to be done by us. We negotiated an updated timeline and he was pleased with the progress. Not even a week later he came back out of no where and stated since we are not going through a contractor they can't confirm when the work will be completed so they are dropping us. With only 3 weeks to find new insurance where they have been leading us on for weeks. Absolutely uncalled for and horrible business. This is why no one trusts insurance agents. I will not recommend anyone to use this company and will send them elsewhere.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group I have been with autoowners on and off for yrs

I have been with autoowners on and off for yrs.with never a claim on home or auto.anyways they threatend to cancel my home ins.bevause they didn't like my 15 yr.old roof ,and they didn't like my two ash trees out front, so the said my roof is no longer covered until I pay for o remove old roof and have a complete new roof installed on both levels, and I had to pay to remove both trees out front$ *** to please autoowners ins.then after all that they didn't like the photos of all the work done,so they basically called me a liar, and send someone out to take more photos, then they don't apologize for any of their ignorant greedy ways of doing business. Today I get a letter stating that they are charging me *** more a month just to send me an invoice to pay my ***! I already pay ahead of f time on their website! But they just have to stick it to the people over and over ,because their bullies! I'm without a doubt going elsewhere! And I don't recommend auto owner ins. To anybody! They are only two interested in lining their pockets with big profits! And s*** the good customers!

We had full coverage auto insurance with Auto owners insurance. When I had an accident they refused to pay for the emergency personnel who came to the scene. We have tried to remediate the situation but they still refused to pay. Full coverage apparently doesn't mean that they have to cover everything. We are now responsible for paying for fire department services related to clean up after the accident, Auto Owners refuses to pay this. What is the point of "full coverage" auto insurance. The *** for the fire department are above and beyond our deductible which we paid.

These folks are a joke. My wife's car totaled by one of their customers "who was at fault" and the only thing missing was the clown music. Zero help or benefit from the Agent and his Manager. Never received a call from them or had them answer the phone. Had to involve my Insurance *** to act as a mediator. Totally dissatisfied in the low ball settlement when I finally did get it. Incompetence from top to bottom with the people I felt with. They receive one star only because there is no option to make it lower.

I want to give NO stars to this company. My husband and I have been great customers for over 3 years, having our home and 3 vehicles on our policy. This is the first claim they have had to cover with our policy. My policy covers a rental for 30 days but apparently the wrong date was conveyed to Enterprise for my rental, and now they are wanting me to cover the additional days. I tried several times to contact the agent over my claim during the 30 days and for over 2 weeks after to no avail. Enterprise has record of all the information and dates given to them and myself for when my policy ended. It is like the 3 different agents I have tried to contact are just ignoring me and Enterprise until we go away. After multiple, multiple calls, emails, and text messages no one can be bothered to call me back. The lack of customer service is Staggering and Unbelievable! We are in the process of looking for new coverage.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group My husband and I had a terrible experience in Georgia, when we had a claim on our bathroom

My husband and I had a terrible experience in Georgia, when we had a claim on our bathroom. We worked with the Lawrencville, Ga branch. We had complete replacement, but Auto Owners did not want to pay us what it cost for complete Replacement. Our adjustor was not willing to work with us on costs. We showed receipts and quotes from the people we used who was the lowest quote out of three quotes. The adjustor refused to tell us who we could use according to their guidelines from the beginning. He told us to chose someone, and so we did. He would not work with our contractor. They wanted us (the homeowners) to itemized down to every single nail used. We fought for every check by calling the corporate office in Michigan and we eventually received 2 additional checks from our adjustor which made us get a total of 4 checks from them, but was still over $3,000 short for complete replacement. We did a few upgrades, which we paid for as expected which was an additional $3200. This company does not want this to be an easy process for their customers. We had several policies with them and we were paid up until October, but we have decided to cancel our policies.

I have been with autoowners on and off for years without ever filing a claim on my home or auto insurance. Nevertheless, they threatened to cancel my home insurance because they disapproved of my 15-year-old roof and the two ash trees in front of my house. They insisted that my roof would not be covered until I paid to remove the old one and had a completely new roof installed on both levels. Additionally, I had to bear the cost of removing both trees to satisfy autoowners insurance. After complying with their demands, they questioned the authenticity of the photos documenting the work, essentially accusing me of dishonesty. They sent someone to take more photos without offering any apology for their inconsiderate and avaricious business practices. Today, I received a letter informing me that they are increasing my monthly charge simply for sending me an invoice, despite the fact that I already pay in advance on their website. It seems they repeatedly exploit their customers because they can. I am definitely taking my business elsewhere and I do not recommend auto owner insurance to anyone. It appears their only concern is to maximize profits at the expense of their loyal customers.

They subbed out the towing portion of the policy to Quest towing services. I was supposed to have $150.00 worth of towing coverage. Truck broke down on the I 70 in a rural area. Tried several times to use the app provided by Auot Owners, would not accept a mile marker number. Made a phone call, chatted online and could not get a tow arranged. After about a hour, I gave up and called a service from the nearest town. I spent $350 out of pocket and they now say I get back $75 reimbursement because they didnt get to choose the tow service. Its a no win situation, app wouldnt work, robo chat was no help, couldnt get through to a person after an hour trying. They create the problem then dont pay out at advertised rates. Scam if there ever was one.

Horrible horrible company. My car was rear ended by one of their insured in 5/15/22. I heard nothing from them for several days. I have had to do all the work, called and the driver had not filed a claim. I finally got assigned an adjuster assigned. I think I may have gotten 2 calls. She does not return calls, texts or answer my questions. I have emailed the documents requested 3 times. It is almost a month later. I have been promised a link to deposit the repair check . Still waiting. It took numerous attempts to find a body shop that would even look at the car. I have found one but had to put 4000$ deposit if my own money to get in the que since I have no check. Went to pick up rental she arranged. They had no car. Still waiting on help with that. The absolute worst service in my 79 years . Avoid if you can .

If I could give no stars I would. Not one of the people there has been helpful with anything. I was hit by one of their clients 4/13/22, got a voice-mail a few weeks later, after I submitted an estimate, saying they had a question and left no details about what was needed. I have been calling the extention from the message during office hours different days at different times for months and nobody EVER answers or returns the messages I have left every single time. This has been the case for over 3 MONTHS now! When I called the main office to see if I could talk to someone else they ALL forwarded me to the same voicemail of the person who NEVER answers. When I asked them about it they said they couldn't verify if she was even there, said I couldn't talk to anyone else, and they wouldn't answer any questions.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group This is "cut-rate" insurance at its worst!

This is "cut-rate" insurance at its worst! I filed a claim for hail damage on my roof and gutters. The large majority of my gutters were damaged, some damage on my roof and damage to one of my garage doors. Turns out they would only pay for the parts that were damaged on the gutters even though I would have to replace them all per multiple contractors. Same story with my roof; they would only pay to get certain pieces of the roof replaced even though there was hail damage to much of it. Finally, they would only replace one garage door out of 2 (that are 20+ years old) because they claim only 1 had damage. Their gutter estimate was only $1440 to replace soffit, fascia and gutters. I have over 240 ft of gutters - I have 3 estimates that are $3000+ for JUST gutters. So now I'm stuck with their low estimate even after calling the supervisor to discuss. No contractor will only replace parts of a roof or parts of the gutters. I can't afford an entire roof so I have to just live with a damaged roof. My gutters are in the worst shape, so I have to replace those with most of the money coming from my pocket. The whole purpose for having insurance is defeated if you use Auto Owners!

My Mother has had this insurance for close to 18 years and pays $1300/year foe her home insurance. She has had hail damage with with missing shingles and damaged gutters. The contractors have told her she needs a new roof, the this company's adjusters said they will only pay for 1/2 of her roof and give only $1900 after her deductible! Who pays for half a roof?!?! This company is a scam and stealing from people.

This is awful company. My Mother has Auto-Owners insurance for her home and auto. She had wind damage back in December wind storm with a large portion of the roof missing shingles and roofing underlayment gone. The contractor had told her she needs a new roof, this company's adjuster said they MIGHT pay of her roof. She has to come up with $2000 deductible! They are not going to even help pay part of it up front. They may pay a little over $7000.00 once it is done. Its costing over $10,000.00 for the new roof. My Mother is on a fixed income and in her late 70s. She just wants the roof fixed after paying over 15 years for insurance that does NOT help when its needed. Auto Owners insurance company is the worst insurance company. Seeing this so-called insurance company has been dragging this claim out since December now we are in May because the roof was not fixed water got in and the ceiling on the hall has collapsed there was wet installation everywhere. Im still trying to figure why the adjuster never looked in house attic for further damage. Now we are dealing with mold and a totally mess in the upper level of the house.Im so glad I dont have this insurance company but my poor Mother does. This must be why this insurance company still in business they Do NOT pay on claims. Never ever go with this company.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group I am really disappointed in this company

I am really disappointed in this company. They have left me feeling like I pay for insurance, but I better not use it. So after 3 claims totaling $8674.12 I am facing a non-renewal this fall. Each claim was due to things outside of my control either weather or power related. One being the roof of my home in the country. It took me since November last year to save up the money and pay for a new steel roof due to A-O only paying me for areas of the roof specifically damaged. I have heard stories of some companies paying for the whole roof when they sustain that much damage. Not them and I am okay with that because I have been saving to switch to steel for awhile anyway. The thing I am not okay with is being a loyal customer with my 4 cars, camper, and home and I receive a non- renewal due to my 2 roof claims which is being completely repaired next week and a claim from a power surge that knocked out a deep freezer full of beef and venison. I did go and purchase 2 new deep freezers after that. So I am not worried the least bit about my agent finding me a better company knowing I have done everything I can to correct problems as they arise. I have 5 kids and a wife to take care of so worrying about insurance is something I am not going to do. This review is so other people know what they are getting into if they sign up with A-O and decide to use their insurance.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group Terrible company to work with on paying out a claim

Terrible company to work with on paying out a claim. I have had them as my insurance for over 5 years and the first time I have a claim I get terrible customer service and lies. I had someone hit my car and drive off so much fun dealing with them to sort out the hit and run details. I had to deal with an adjustor who never returned my phone calls or emails throughout the entire claim process. To make matters worse they lied and tried to get out of paying for rental car days while my car sat undriveable because they didnt believe the auto body shop's estimate. I had to call the 3rd party apprisal company to get details on my car and when they were coming out to look at it. As the auto owners adjuster was no where to be heard from. Then they tried to get out of covering the rental days while my car sat at the auto shop non driveable because of their slow apprisal process. I had to re hash the days my car went in the shop and why it was not driveable and so on and so forth. As if I had no clue what dates this occurred on. They were trying to stick me with a bill that they were to cover. What a joke when I finally talked to the adjuster and gave her the accurate details and description of how the events unfolded she was down right ignorant. I would give them 0 stars if I could. The most unpleasant unprofessional experience dealing with this arrogant lying company. I would avoid them at all costs. Greedy rude company. Never had an insurance company so rude and disorganized before!

Auto-Owners Insurance Group This is the worst of the worst insurance company you can ever get

This is the worst of the worst insurance company you can ever get. Auto owners insurance company is the worst insurance you can ever get. They take your money every year, but when you file claim, they deny your claim without hesitation. I first had a hail storm damage caused the leaking in my house, and the roofing company said that I had hail damage, so I filed the claim. They sent the adjuster and he said that was just the wear and tear, so I had to pay out of my own pocket to get the roof repaired. This year, I had storm damage that I didn't know until the neighbor got their roof replaced by the insurance company, so I had it checked by two different roof companies, and both said I had bad damages, so I filed the claim, and the adjuster Pat came and it took him over a week to get the report and said the damage was less than my deductible, so the insurance won't do anything, and I asked to have a different adjuster and they said there's no another adjuster. When I ask the agent, she said she talked to the manager from the insurance company and the manager said there's no storms in my area, and they just closed my claim. That was a lie! I had my friend, my neighbor, my patients a lot of people had their roof replaced this year because of the storm damage except Auto owners insurance denied my claim. I was stupid enough to stay with them for almost 18 years until I had problem and need the help and they turned my down. This is the company I'll stay as far as I can from now on. It was an expensive lesson. Beware!

Auto-Owners Insurance Group I had a one person accident about two months ago

I had a one person accident about two months ago. This was on a Wednesday and on Friday I had to call about a rental - Clay said it had been sitting on his desk since Wednesday. IF I had not gotten a rental I would have lost my job. It took OVER ONE WEEK for anything to be done to my vehhicle in as far as getting the ball rolling for repairs. I paid for the insurance on my rental to save any increases on my auto insurance, as earlier a neighbor had keyed my car. So it cost me 10 days at $25.00 while NOTHING was done to my car. THEN the adjuster accused me of lying about where my car was located. He didn't have the intelligence to check the service department instead of the collision department. I have been accused of lying by Auto Owner employees and Clay has been VERY RUDE to me. I have sent two letters to the CEO, which NEVER reached his desk. Instead rude Clay called me and talked down to me. I an in the process of getting quotes from other agencies. I have NEVER had people at Auto Owners be as rude to me as they have been this year. Something isn't right within the company. What reason did I have to lie about where my car was located? OH I work 3rd shift and c harge my cell phone during the day and rarely use my cell phone for calls. I have a landline with a recoder and later I found THREE phone calls on my cell phone two from Auto Owners and one from the adjuster. WHY did they call this number? I need to file a claim for the $250.00 it cost me for the rental insurance while Auto Owners was doing nothing towards fixing my car.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group I was sitting at a traffic light waiting to turn when my vehicle was hit in the rear by an unlicensed & uninsured driver

I was sitting at a traffic light waiting to turn when my vehicle was hit in the rear by an unlicensed & uninsured driver. Police report was filed & nothing ever happened to the driver. After a few days I found out that the car she was driving belonged to someone else which also had no insurance.I've to do all the calling to follow up on whether they were going to prosecute the driver or owner of the car. I was told that they don't go after the owner of the car just the driver. After that I started checking into new insurance & asking how they would handle the situation. Most of the other companies said they would go after both parties. I then called the person handling my claim & mentioned that so they filed a judgement as he calls it against both parties. Now after 2yrs. still nothing? I called the person handling my claim & basically told me there was nothing more that they could do. I'm not worried about the money that i'm out, but they should be made an example of & held accountable for not being responsible. I've to do most of the follow up on this for the last 2yrs. because an Auto-Owners Rep would never call & let me know how my claim was going & being handled. Seems like Auto-Owners doesn't really care about a long standing customer! My next course of action is to start shopping for a new insuance company. I have to say that customer service is not one of their strong suits. In the past with the other insurance companies I had policies with they actually took care of the customer as for *** that doesn't seem to be a priority with them.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group This is an absolutely abhorrent This is an absolutely abhorrent insurance company

This is an absolutely abhorrent This is an absolutely abhorrent insurance company. I used them to insure my primary residence after being referred from my mortgage lender. My house was built in 1926. Before I could move in I had to remediate mold damage and take care of multiple repairs on the house. (This was all out of pocket expenses I knew about before moving in). The first correspondence I received from Auto Owner's within 2 months of closing was that my insurance was being cancelled because of the stucco coming off the back rear of the house. No conversation, no "please address this next", just CANCELLED. I quickly called my contractor crying and got him to shift the work around and took care of this next and my insurance was restored.
Last straw was 2 months ago when I paid my mortgage off early. When Auto Owner's didn't get the payment from the mortgage company, they again, immediately, sent me a cancellation notice! No phone call, no "please pay this amount" (not like they don't know where to mail a letter or bill), just "cancelled".
Fine by me, I called*** who I should have used to start with. They are ALWAYS a pleasure to work with.
Final insult: Earlier this week I received a call that they hadn't received payment for the week or so I was covered before they auto cancellation... I informed that that the check I mailed for this (less than $100) had been received by them because it had cleared the bank!
I can't say strongly enough: Stay away from this horrible horrible company. They are sleazy sleazy sleazy and aren't used to people who take care of business like I do, all they do is threaten, cancel, and remain completely disorganized.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group In October last year I had an insured customer of this company run into my parked corvette, no party was injured and the police showed up

In October last year I had an insured customer of this company run into my parked corvette, no party was injured and the police showed up minutes later. the car sustained serious damage to the fiberglass tub and rear bumper It wasn't suitable to drive on the road without parts flying off of it. my father and I proceeded to call Malissa a representative of the company, we talked kind and courteously too her but she was incredibly rude unprofessional and acted unbecoming of someone who works any job interacting with people. she interrupted and talked Down to us even to the point of yelling while my dad explained that I couldn't get a rental car as I was 16 and the cheapest rental car was 10$ more a day then the company would offer she said "well that's what we offer if it's any more you pay the difference", after the absolutely disrespectful conversation and the barrage of insults thrown at us I was left with nothing to drive for 3 months and no recourse or the option to speak to any supervisor. Later in the call we asked if she was recording at which point she admitted to only recording bits and pieces of the phone call, later they sent a check for only 4700$ which didn't even cover half of the damages and the mechanic had to resolve that with them we also received no payments for the lost residual value if the which was a perfect 50th anniversary car with 60k miles on it worth about 18k the accident brought the value down to about 14k after multiple calls and attempts just to get what is owed they won't pay for the rental time or the lost value, DO NOT TRY TO INSURE YOURSELF WITH THIS SHADY ILLEGITIMATE COMPANY and pray to god that the person who hit you doesn't have it either

Auto-Owners Insurance Group Auto-Owner Insurance ripped me off using bad business practices and this will sound confusing but thats what there intention was as they messed

Auto-Owner Insurance ripped me off using bad business practices and this will sound confusing but thats what there intention was as they messed up and illegally wrote a bad policy for the greed purposes, and yes, I already filed with Insurance Commissioner. My mother was dying of Cancer in 2020, i had to take care of her bills of course, her insurance on the house was due and I made the payments. My Mom passed away, and continued to pay Auto-Owner Insurance and asked do i need to change anything as its still my Moms house but i want coverage, they said NO! "FACTS" they took my money. So i paid on my Credit Card, a few months past and i filed for a claim, all of a sudden they decided to cancel me and deny my claim after 4 years of being with them, so basically they charged me $182 the premium to not cancel on that specific date, so i should still be able to make a claim right? No they sent me back a check for $734, made payable to my mothers name and the bank said due to an insurance check you cannot cash it even though i was intrust of everything and had all the proper paperwork, so thats another headache they tried to pull, why not just reimburse the same way i paid. Now, to protect themselves they said it will expires 12/26 but im still not covered makes no sense, they just wanted to keep my $182 portion and try to weasel there way out of writing a bad policy and get caught, but they did by doing this. This is the lowest business ethics especially when your paying for INSURANCE you know protection, its all about dollars to them they dont care about doing at the very least standing behind what they sell. Im waiting for the outcome from Insurance Commissioner hope theres more i can do as they put me thru such hell. Do not go with them, worst insurance company ever.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group CRIMINALS!

CRIMINALS! THIEVES! LIARS! My claim rep even told me to give up - BULLIES! In 2020, a storm hit my property that damaged every building, knocked over 50+ big *** a *** into my home. Every contractor who's looked at the house tells me it needs to be torn down/rebuilt. It stormed for 3 days before a tree company could remove the tree from the roof/side of my home - after 3 days of water pouring into my home, it was finally tarped. I can't imagine the water damage & mold...My barn roof is "sitting" on the barn - the nails have all been ripped out from the wind. I'm still clearing downed trees. It gets better! A/O requested the interior finishes of my home be removed so they could assess the house's framing, a hole be cut in the kitchen floor to view under the *** & a hole cut into a wall to view damage to the roof instead of asking me to remove the tarp briefly. I hired a contractor to do what A/O asked. Shiplap & possible asbestos was found behind the interior finishes. I asked A/O if they wanted the shiplap removed so they could view the framing like they intended. THEY SAID NO. They refused to acknowledge the possible asbestos as well. They never actually looked at the framing. I watched their structural engineer take photos of the shiplap & steal measurements from the adjuster instead of taking his own. My home is covered for up to $172k. They have paid me $40k to "repair" EVERYTHING & refuse to total it. I cannot in good conscious slap some "bandaids" on the *** would never be safe in there anyway, so I'm forced to sell as-is because I can't afford to build new & frankly, the house is NOT safe. I have to say goodbye to my beautiful farm & first home because A/O is GREEDY. $172k is pennies to them. I've loyally paid my bills to them & always on time, & all they can muster up is a measly $40k. Pathetic. If I could give less than one star, I would. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE COMPANY AND EMPLOYEES.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group In June , my nephew backed into my car with his truck while in my mother's driveway

In June , my nephew backed into my car with his truck while in my mother's driveway. It was an accident, and my nephew took full responsibility. He told me immediately to call my insurance. I called Auto-Owner's, and they told me I did not need to call the police due to it being on private property. I took pictures of my nephew's truck and my car. My mom and my stepdad were witness to this. I had to pay my $1000 deductible for Auto-Owner's to fix my car even though the accident was no fault of my own. They told me I would get it back when they received the insurance settlement from my nephew's insurance. Auto-Owner's never once reached out to me to give me updates on that. I called numerous times (every few weeks for months) for updates. When I called back in October, I was told the case was closed because of no police report. The rep, Tom, told me he was reaching out to the district office that was supposed to be handling this case to get it opened back up, because it should not have been closed. He stated I would receive a phone call or email from someone with an update on the case. As of today, I hadn't heard anything, so I called and spoke with Sara who stated the case had went to arbitration because my nephew's insurance could not reach my nephew to verify what happened. Auto-Owners sided with that insurance and closed the case without even reaching out to me. If they had reached out to me, I would've went to my mom's and sat with my nephew while he called the general, and we would've gotten it straightened out. My nephew has stated numerous times that he had no issue with telling the insurance what happened. Not once did Auto-Owners contact me through all of this. If they would have, the situation would've been resolved. Now I am out $1000 that I had to borrow for an accident that was not my fault. BEWARE OF THIS INSURANCE COMPANY! They do not fight for you. *** Insurance Agency in Gallipolis, OH should not offer Auto-Owners Insurance to any of its customers anymore.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group Mr. on 11/4 Thursday - Mobil Home Policy Inquiry

Mr. on 11/4 Thursday inquired about his Mobil Home Policy. Claim for loss on 6/27 was filed, as well as a police report on the same date. Mr. and his family have been persistently appealing and disputing with Auto-Owners Insurance Group regarding their claim. His home suffered break-ins on consecutive dates at the end of June by intruders, resulting in grand larceny and loss of valuable personal property. Despite repeated attempts to contact the insurance group via phone and email for a comprehensive claim settlement, there has been no satisfactory response. Mr. feels victimized twice, first by the theft and then by the perceived negligence of Auto-Owners Insurance Group. Precious family heirlooms and other items were stolen, leading to various forms of distress for Mr. and his family. A detailed notarized inventory of the lost items amounting to $15,822.00 was submitted, but the insurance agent and company have yet to provide the promised loss payments.

I had a car accident on September 30th, 2022. A person insured by auto owners was driving and rear ended me. My car was claimed as a total loss and they took away the rental, which I only had for a few days. They left me without a car, I sent my title and keys almost a week ago and I still havent received the check. I was left without a vehicle, without any money. I am a single college student and make minimal wage and I cant afford to rent a car. My dog has missed vet appointments. I am not able to go to the dr myself. Ive missed work. They dont care about people and I was the victim here. Also, my case manager and her supervisor never responded my phone calls. I wasnt able to get a hold of anyone.

Claim Number: *** The reason I am making this dispute is because Auto Owners is using predatory practices against me to accept a product (siding) that is different from the one on the home and would depreciate the value of the property. Reasons listed below. -The color tone, pattern, texture & fastening areas are completely different from the current siding. -The new siding's nail fastening area is formed differently and has a channel built in, the original siding from 2006 has a flat nail fastening area. -The bottom channel is also different. The rear of the old siding is smooth, the new siding is textured in the rear.-The original siding was installed in 2006. The initial producer of the siding was a company called Norandex, which has since changed ownership throughout the years. Many tooling and casting processes have changed as well.-It would be difficult to ensure the suggested siding & original siding would seal together due to the difference in bottom channel. If installed it may lead to leaks through the siding. Items such as corner posts would be mis-matched. My claim started in June 2022 with Auto Owners and since then I have had three different claim examiners as the other personnel were very vague, uneducated on the claim and has taken a long time to receive a full response. I believe that the information we sent in such as pictures, reports and other documents were not applied to my account.

My daughter, grandson, ex boyfriend, son-in-law were in an accident on 12/15. One of their customers have admitted fault. We have reached out over the course of almost two years trying to see what needs to be done to finish our claim. The customer service has been little to none and our adjuster is always out, busy, or in a meeting. I last spoke with him on September 1, *** email since then. They are tired of me calling and I am tried of calling I just need them to do the right thing and handle our claim with a little more empathy and compassion. I feel like we are getting thrown under the bus by them constantly transferring us from agent to agent and still no answers. After this they do not have to worry about me or my family, this has been the worst experience with an insurance company ever!

Auto-Owners Insurance Group I filed a claim on my homeowners policy and had an adjuster come out to look at my home for hail damage on 2/28/22

I filed a claim on my homeowners policy and had an adjuster come out to look at my home for hail damage on 2/28/22. My insurance company uses a third party inspection company, ***, to do the inspections. I received a denial letter stating that the inspection report for the claim #*** confirmed that there 'was older hail damages to the aluminum siding, window wraps and to the aluminum roof flashings from a prior claim inspection in March . Those damages were from a prior event and those same older damages were noted in that claim, which is ***. No new or recent damages were noted on our above inspection". So the Inspection done in March , had also been denied but was stated to have NO DAMAGES. That claim #*** was also done by ***. The adjuster was overheard to say that he would NOT be approving my home, or any home he was going to see that day, before he had even looked at my home. So Auto Owners Insurance Company clearly and fraudulently, misrepresented the facts. First claim, I have NO DAMAGE. Second claim I now have OLD DAMAGE. I have never filed a homeowners claim before. We pay our insurance faithfully. We have never lapsed in coverage. We shouldn't have to resort to *** of Insurance complaints and Complaintsboard.com complaints. Next will be *** and *** Reviews. Several of the homes on my block have already been restored/repaired. So, I would like Auto Owners looked into for fraudulently misrepresenting the facts in an effort to bully me into not following through because I used a third party to speak on my behalf. I am now speaking on my own behalf. I am no longer in a contract with any public adjuster. Every home that was repaired on my block used the same third party public adjuster that I used. Auto Owners is the only company that has wreaked havoc on the process. And I would like my home repaired.

We have auto owners insurance on our house. We had hail damage to our roof and two walls of aluminum siding. The insurance we have is for replacement value. After we had 3 contractors come out, only one was available within 8 weeks and the quote came in approximately $4000.00 more than what the insurance company said it was worth. Basically, they are stating that the amount they will pay is $4000.00 less.

My family recently became customers with Auto owners insurance. My daughter had an accident involving a deer with her Rav 4. We filed a claim and were informed that they wanted to consider the vehicle a total loss. After discussing the situation with a representative and providing the actual mileage of the car, it was concluded that the car's value exceeded the initial estimate given by the third-party adjuster. Up to this point, things were going well; they issued a check to both myself and the auto repair shop. However, the repair shop is unable to begin work until they receive the final authorization to do so. The accident occurred on July 14, 2022, and the vehicle was taken to the shop on September 28, 2022. The shop has reached out to Auto owners on September 28 and October 7, and to the third-party adjuster on September 28, October 5, October 7, and October 11. Unfortunately, their customer service has been less than satisfactory. I am eager to have this issue resolved, especially since the cost is under $5000. My concern extends beyond this incident; I am apprehensive about potential future claims that may involve my home or business, which could be for significantly larger amounts.

I had an insurance claim for roof and siding wind damage. The claim number was assigned by my insurance company. There was damage done to my roof and siding on the house. I also had damage done to both sides of my roof on the detached garage. The roofer was able to fix my roof on the house. However, the roofer could not fix the garage. According to my policy, if it cannot be repaired, it will be replaced. Now I am being told by the insurance adjuster that they will only replace one side of the detached garage. They are claiming that the damage on the other side occurred at a different time, basing their judgment on a rusted nail in a missing tab. I questioned them about the non-rusted nail right beside it, but now the adjuster is not responding. Their service has been terrible from the date of the claim. My roof still has missing shingles on the detached garage, and this claim was submitted on June 22, 2022. I am asking for my roof to be fixed or replaced. My insurance agent is based in Petersburg, Indiana. This process has dragged on for far too long.

On 8/31/22 while staying at a condominium complex insured by Auto Owners, one and a half sheets of sheetrock fell from the ceiling of their parking area onto my car hitting the roof, hood, fender and bumper. The *** told me they were aware of the sheetrock problem and this has happened before and promised to make this right. I have pictures of not only my car but small pieces of sheetrock on another car's hood, places in other parking spots where the sheetrock is cracked and sagging and about to fall. My claim was handed to *** at Auto Owners insurance. He did call the next day and asked me to go that day or the next to get estimates locally which I told him I would not do. For one, it's not being fixed in a state I don't live in and 2, I didn't want to spend my vacation driving around to places I was not taking my car to get fixed for estimates anyway. I told him when I got home I would get estimates. I get back from vacation and have to take another day off work later that week to go get estimates. All I had was his cell phone. No email for him, no idea what the name of the insurance company he was with, no idea where to send pics or estimates. He would not return a phone call or answer a call. Would not respond to a text. I finally got a response when I asked someone else at AO for help getting a response. Their estimator said they could not get in touch with my body shop and my body shop said no one called. This body shop has been in business since the 50's and has a wonderful reputation so I believe them. Ok so I can remedy that. I finally get a response from *** who said the body shop called him but after a week and several emails, I still can not get an update. Can I just get someone to process this claim with some communication?! If you need something then ask me. If I ask you a question, respond. That's just common business practice.

A driver insured by Auto-Owners Insurance hit me; my car was parked. The driver admitted full fault. A claim agent then called me through Auto-Owners. He told me my car could be repaired by any shop and that they would pay for damages. I found a shop to fix my car, and he demanded an estimate before he would agree to anything. I got him an estimate, and then he needed proof that the vehicle was mine. After all of this, he sent me a check written out for an amount less than the estimate to fix my car; not only that, the check was written to me and the place I finance the car. The claim agent has not answered emails, texts, or calls, and I have spoken to an attorney. They advised me that an insurance company is supposed to pay for the repairs and issue a check to the repair shop, not me. Since the accident, the claim agent has made it difficult for a decent and honest resolution. The issue has not been resolved. He will not reply to the auto shop on estimates, where my car is currently being fixed. I only want my car fixed and the money to go to the repair shop that I was told I could choose. Nothing short of harassment and taking advantage of a situation that should have easily been resolved when the Auto Owners Insurance driver admitted full fault.

My Jeep was stolen on July 26, 2022. The Jeep was insured by Auto-Owners Insurance. As of Sep 12, 2022, they still have not processed my claim. They have undervalued my Jeep by thousands of dollars, and are refusing to discuss the matter with me. They insist I sign a "power of attorney" allowing them to transfer title, but I am uncomfortable doing so until we reach an agreement on value. The claims processing department ignores my emails and phone calls. I have been without my vehicle for over a month, and without compensation for said vehicle as well.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group Started having water issues the week of March 14

Started having water issues the week of March 14. Local Insurance was contacted and we were referrred to Auto Owners ( 1st mistake ). An adjuster was assigned to our claim, Shane T. ( 2nd mistake ). Mr. T has never spoken with me or my wife in person since our claim was made. Our well pump locked up on March 14th, a day or two later after pump was replaced, we started noticing water seeping up through carpet and harwood flooring. This is when Mr. T was assigned. He has NEVER returned our emails or phone calls. Instead of Mr. T coming to our home to see the damage, he farmed out our claim to a guy named "Charlie " with *** Charlie too agreed that Shane is not good at returning emails or phone calls but he would return Charlie's. A clean up service company arrived at our home to help with fan blowers and dehumidifiers, they were very very professional. A storage trailer had been brought at the same time. Still crickets from Shane. After 15-16 plumbers contacted and two flooring companies, we have only received 2 quotes from plumbers and two from flooring companies. After I emailed Mr. T explaining to him that we were going to a local *** media outlet to air our grievances, we FINALLY got an out of office reply from Mr. T. Why wasn't the reply sent earlier? A *** has been in touch with us and we finally got to explain our side, our medical issues with our daughter who has had a heart transplant and the fear of mold. We are currently using water at our 2nd hotel and flush water from our neighbor. The water leak contributed to the well pump locking up. Auto Owners can sponsor a race team or a race but they can't help out the common man. Very disgrunlted with their service and customer relations. Our plumbing needs to be re-routed or we'll be going through this night mare again with Auto Owners. Shane T. is not a good rep for Auto OWners

(my business) sustained significant damage to our area on 5/2/22 due to a tornado. We were right within the path and it damaged a large amount of our stock. We have Auto Owners as our insurance company who has done nothing other than delay, change adjusters, miss-communicate, not communicate and create additional issues on not settling our claim. We have yet to receive $1 on any of our totaled stock from them and now, they're unwilling to communicate on what else is needed along with a anticipated timeline for payment. We're now nearing 3 months since the date of loss. This is not how we envisioned our partnered insurance carrier to operate or settle a tornado claim, or any claim for that matter. There is a large amount of detail, communications, pictures, etc that can be provided to substantiate our claim here with the Complaintsboard.com, and all of which has been provided to Auto Owners months ago. Now knowing and living through their claim process, if I had known how the company handles things of this nature, we would "not" have partnered with them as a insurance carrier. Additionally, we filed a DFIS claim as we're looking to settle our claim as part of the insurance contract they have yet to honor.

I am the co-owner of an environmental consulting firm that carries a special policy due to the constituents present in the soil and groundwater we sample. During the inspection of our property it was somehow determined that we do oil and gas drilling. In the 30 years of existence the company has never owned equipment capable oil and gas drilling. Prior to my partner and I purchasing the company we did drill and install monitor *** (average depth of 20') around fuel storage around gas stations but this is nowhere near the same thing. Whether it was a misunderstanding during the inspection or an assumption was made because the drill rig, that was in the process of being sold, was still on site we were informed our policy was being dropped due to the risk/hazards involved with oil and gas drilling. A re-inspection was requested to clear this up and to prove there is no longer any drilling equipment on the premises or owned by our company. This was denied and our policy will be terminated. Auto owners has handled other aspects of our company as well, with no issues but the inability to confirm and correct a mistake is upsetting. Especially since we can not operate without the coverage they are dropping. We were informed 8/29/22 of termination of the policy

I require diminished value from when the companys client hit my car. The claim number is ***. From what I read about diminished value online is that the diminished value from the accident is usually around 50% of the repairs. So my resolution would be $875.00 for the diminished value. The company is stating that there is no diminished value which is wrong because any accident reported to insurance will diminish the value of a car.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group On May 26 of this year a very large tree from the neighbors yard fell on my building

On May 26 of this year a very large tree from the neighbors yard fell on my building. This tree had been broken sometime in the past that would qualify as neglected by this neighbor. The tree took out 9 other mature trees as it fell. I filed a claim with my agent and contacted a tree service. The original estimate for tree removal and cleanup was $10,000. It was a very large job and due to the tree services situation, they could not complete the work in one day. Due to this and the state of the world today, we came to a payment agreement and moved forward. I submitted this invoice and the claims rep paid it with the communication that this was only part of the job due to uncontrolled circumstances and that I would provide the estimate/invoice of the remainder. I provided the invoice after the job had been completed and received a phone call from the claims rep advising me that they only pay $500 for the cleanup after the tree is off the structure. Since then we have been emailing back and forth for months, I have provided pictures and accounts of how the actual situation was handled with no satisfaction. Just recently the claims rep has had correspondence with the tree service which I believe is only due to comments I made on social media to no resolution. The claims rep is literary asking for a breakdown of trees that were removed, trees still standing and how many branches that were on the structure. I do not know of a tree removal co. out there that would count branches before removing from a structure. I would like to provide a brief recap of my experience with this claim. ~ I contact agent after tree falls to file a claim May 26 ~ Field adjuster arrives and advises report will be completed 1 to 2 days May 28 ~ Contact from claims rep only after multiple calls to agent approx. June 21 ~ Started emailing back and forth approx. Oct 12 2021 ~ Contacted claims rep supervisor

My agent from Keyser Insurance Group notified me via email on 6/24 that I was being sent to collections for not paying the last bill for Auto-Owner's Insurance. I canceled my premium with Auto-Owner's on April 13. She told me that I should be good to not owe anything else unless Auto-Owner's send me a last bill which I am obligated to pay. I thanked her and said, 'awesome, no problem.' I was visiting a different state in March and about the 11th due to the COVID pandemic stay in place order, I was compelled to stay. So in the month of March I changed my address on all of my cards and online with USPS, updated my information of my new address. Auto-Owner's Insurance was still sending me mail to my old address. Being that I told my agent of the address change as well, I'm surprised Auto-Owner's didn't get the memo. I didn't find out about this final payment until my agent contacted me via email on 06/24 that as of 06/17 Auto-Owner's Insurance was sending me to collections for this payment. Because of the time difference I called Auto Owner's Insurance the next day 6/25 in the morning to clear up this matter and to make sure they have my new updated address. I talked with Heidi about the issue and she told me that this would not be going on my credit, that it would be cleared on collections and nothing more for me to worry about. Heidi, I must mention was very rude and kept getting my information wrong, calling me by the wrong name. I paid the debt of $143.81 via phone with Steve, which went through my bank account on 6/26. I received a letter from CMCS premium recovery services on 7/11 stating that I have a past due account with Auto-Owner's Insurance of $143.81. This was sent out on June 26. The same day the payment had gone through on my account. Product_Or_Service: auto insurance Account_Number:

Auto-Owners Insurance Group Refusal to complete repairs after an automobile accident On January 13 I was rear-ended by someone one who carried Auto Owner's Insurance

Refusal to complete repairs after an automobile accident On January 13 I was rear-ended by someone one who carried Auto Owner's Insurance. After pulling over and contacting the police, a report was filed that confirmed the other driver was at fault. That afternoon I contacted his insurance company to see about the repair schedule and an adjuster came to my home on 1/15 to complete the assessment. I made a follow up call to the insurance company to inquire when my vehicle could be dropped off to the repair shop when I was advised nothing could be done until the police report was received. The report was finally received and another follow up call to the insurance company confirmed I could now take my vehicle to a repair shop and have the work completed. An appointment had already been arranged by the adjuster on 1/15 for a loaner vehicle while my truck was being fixed. Fast forward to Wednesday January 22. I drop off my truck to be repaired, heading over to Enterprise to pick up my rental car. I receive a call from the insurance agent stating they would not be able to complete the scheduled repairs or issue the rental vehicle until their customer (the person who rear-ended me) has made contact with them. So basically, they do not have to complete any claims or repairs until they speak with their customer. The entire time the insurance agent advised I should just go through my own insurance company for the repairs, if I was in a hurry to get it fixed. It is now April 19 and there has been zero contact from this company whatsoever. How is this possible? How is this company allowed to neglect claims because their customer hasn't called them to report the accident? So all a person needs to do to prevent their insurance from paying out claims is to avoid all contact with them. I feel this is illegal and criminal in nature. How can they be allowed to practice business like this? This company needs to be investigated.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group I was rear ended by a woman who has auto owners insurance

I was rear ended by a woman who has auto owners insurance. I got hit so hard that the force pushed my vehicle into the vehicle in front of me. My vehicle and the one in front of me were both completely stopped when I was hit. The woman who caused the accident has assumed 100% liability for the crash. My car is a total loss. I suffered whiplash, awful hip pain, multiple bruises and an arm burn from the airbag. As soon as the police report was available, I contacted Auto owners insurance. I did not hear back from the adjuster assigned to my claim (***) until 10 days post accident. I left many messages with no return phone calls. I finally got Jinne on the phone after talking with the operator and staying on the line until she took my phone call. I told her i needed to have my car evaluated for replacement value. It took auto owners nearly three weeks to even come out and look at my vehicle. In the meantime time, I called Jinne many times and so did the adjuster for my (progressive ) insurance named ***. Jinne simply does not answer phone calls or listen to voicemails. I ended up having to get a rental through my insurance. After two weeks, I had to return my rental vehicle and auto owners refused to pay to extend the rental even though I had not been paid out for my totaled vehicle and could not replace it until I got paid out. Also, I am having to pay out of pocket for medical treatments because no one from auto owners will return phone calls from my medical office. My business supplies were in the car at the time of the accident and done of those got broken and need to be replaced. I want auto owners to respond and take care of my claim in its entirety. This has been the worst experience trying to deal with this unethical company who simply ignores people. My progressive insurance adjuster said this is the worst he has ever seen a claim be handled. Please help me. Thank you

Auto-Owners Insurance Group I got in a car accident 8/20 auto owners insurance was my ins

I got in a car accident 8/20 auto owners insurance was my ins. I have been getting treatments for the accident. Witch have helped but I still get a lot numbness in my arms and legs coming from a very tight area in my mid Back. Auto-owners insurance was taking care of stuff until one day recently a guy called me and demanded I make an appointment to come see some doctor. He was affiliated with Auto Owners Ins, Okay so I did go see this man. Upon visiting with this so called doctor he was very good at put words in my mouth. I told him my arms go numb sitting and laying down sometimes standing, he said I need to wear elbow pads during day he said dont sleep on your side I said I never do, he said you will at night I said I really dont or my arms would be really bad and I wouldnt sleep at all... This so called doctor never touched my back or any problem areas as Im writing this my arm is going numb. He basically said In a report I was able to move my body so Im back at 100% witch Im far from. I really think someone should investigate this doctor and figure out how many people he has brushed under the rug for this big Auto-Owners company. After my visit with him trust me there is many more victims.I can move my body does not mean I dont have serious numbness and pinched nerves. I paid a higher premium than average policy holder to have extra coverage and now it taken away! 3 party investigation should be done on all the doctor *** Auto owners have ordered to be done by this guy/doctor.. I thought originally when I was going to see this specialist doctor sent by the insurance company was going to to help me. No oh no it was a trap set by Auto-Owners to get me to come in for a ONE sided visit with there personal Auto owners doctor and s*** me over financially.. Im very upset what a big waist of time for me. To go to a doctor and have the doctor tell me how I live and put words in my mouth. He Tells me to wrap my elbows guy has no clue.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group Our home was hit by a tornado July and suffered damage

Our home was hit by a tornado July and suffered damage. The same week my wife and I lost our 2nd child in *** due to pregnancy complications (12 weeks into maternity) so 2021 was really s*** for us (pardon language). For the past 9 months we have been jumping through hoops over and over again trying to get back to our normal lives. Over 100 pictures, power point presentation detail outlining contractors, quotes, etc. Auto-Owners keeps stalling on getting the home repaired in timely and efficient manor. Price continues to be an issue when inflation 8.5% on top of rising costs and supply chain delays. Contractor has officially backed out of the job due to no additional funds available (not being released by insurance) we have no siding on our house exposed to the elements. We are a young family (student debt our choice working on paying it back), but have no experience going through something like this and quite frankly hope to never go through it again because at my job not servicing the customer gets you fired and I dont see how insurance its the opposite. We have forked out over $50k out of pocket (bank loans) since then because of the policy statue of limitations and were still not done with repair work. Ive asked for supervisors/managers general managers, etc and get turned aside. Our insurance adjuster has numerous times complained about his work load via phone (not my problem thats *** to solve). We need help and dont know where to turn or our next move. Wife is pregnant again and I dont want additional worry/stress of the home any further during this pregnancy especially the emotional toll it took. She needs to focus on nesting and taking care of herself. Im not playing the maternity sympathy card just laying facts we need help to get a swift resolution out of auto-owners to get our work done completed ASAP so we can focus on our family.Left to reimburse/repair estimated

Auto-Owners Insurance Group We suffered water and mold damage

We suffered water and mold damage. Filed claim. Adjuster came out with pen and paper, no other equipment. While he was here, he talked about the damage but made sure he told us how cheap our house was. As if a 2x4, sheetrock, trim, insulation or any other materials felt more important if it were installed in a stick-built house instead of our modular home. We were given a ridiculous estimate based on discrimination and bias. Both the adjuster and the claims manager spoke about our house being a modular home. Even the mitigation experts told us they hear that all the time from them. Then those same experts decided to negotiate my claim, even though they had no permission or had not been hired to anything other than give me an estimate. Spoke with *** with auto-owners who basically claimed he was in charge no matter what, even if I called the *** it wouldn't make a difference. The level of bias and discrimination is astounding. What I got from this experience is,...you live in a modular home and don't deserve to be treated the same as those who live in a regular house. that is how it came across to me and everyone listening to those conversations. The level of unprofessionalism is also remarkable. The claims manager, *** lost his cool and took it personal that the estimate from the mitigation company was higher than that of his bias adjuster. We did everything right. Found the water damage, stopped the water from doing any more damage, notified Auto-Owners and filed a claim. Only to be told we and our house wasn't worth the same as those with a stick-built home. Our claim was accepted but not treated the same as any other claim. It's been more than 33 days since we filed our claim, and nothing has been done to fix the issues. All we get his more intentional delays. Both the mitigation team and claims manager worked together to undermine the process while taking liberties that secure employment and reduce the scope and cost of work. Very unethical.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group I filed a claim with them on September 2

I filed a claim with them on September 2. They denied my claim 7 weeks later, after the adjuster told me damage was covered on September 3rd. On September 2, I called Auto-Owners insurance to report water damage in my 2010 Cadillac. The backseat and carpet was soaked with water and there was mold on the leather seats. Andrea B (the adjuster) called me on September 3rd to let me know, I would be responsible for my deductible and for parts that needed to be replaced and Auto Owners would cover the damage. My policy does cover water damage. They asked me where I would be taking my car because they would be sending someone to look at it. That was the last communication I had with Auto Owners regarding this issue. Moving forward, the dealership spoke to Andrea B early on and she promised to call Eric back after speaking with a supervisor. He called her four times starting on September 8th and she never returned any of his calls. Eric reached out to me and said that it was radio silence from Auto Owners. I told him I would call. I left her two messages a week apart and once again radio silence. On September 29th, Andrea finally called and said, we are sorry, but it's not covered. Mind you this is about 7 weeks later and the water and mold has sat in the car because they never authorized the dealership to work on the car. I asked Andrea, why she told me the damage was covered on September 3rd and now 7 weeks later it's not covered! She did not have an answer to that question. They sat on this, dragged their feet to resolve this issue. Now they have left me with mold and water that is a threat to my health and well being. Yet they continued to take money out of MY account for premiums and did not honor their end of the contract. This is unacceptable and they need to pay up like they said they were going to do on September 3rd. From reading other complaints and reviews this seems to be common practice from Auto-Owners Insurance. They should be investigated for the way they do business! They have no problem taking money from people, but they don't want to pay up. I would appreciate them doing the right thing and resolve this issue.

On Saturday night August 17,2019 (Over 11 months ago) I incurred a theft from my property to which I reported the loss to my insurance agent the following Monday. In the days following that week I received a phone call from the Claims Representative to which I gave a statement and was then sent papers the following week to fill out and send in an itemized list of the property that was stolen. I filled out the itemized list with a number of the items consolidated together and entered in as one lump sum which was actually less than if I had entered them as individual items. I also did not include any state tax on any of the items or on the total amount of the loss. The itemized list of items that I sent into the company was for the amount of $4540.00 and again that does not include any state tax. With tax the amount would be roughly $4863.00. Sometime later after my itemized list was sent in to the insurance company I received a (PROPERTY SETTLEMENT WORKSHEET) from the Claim Representative Cory S for the payment amount of $660.00. I promptly drove to my insurance agents office and returned the check with the response that the amount of the check was "ridiculous" and to be completely honest "an insult" Apparently the itemized list that the Insurance Company requested and that I spent murmurous hours searching for and compiling for them for my claim was just completely ignored and disregarded by the Ins.Co. and their Claim Rep. Cory S. The Ins. Co. has tried 3 times to force me to accept their settlement payment of $660.00 for my claim of $4540.00. I have talked to a number of people regarding my claim both from the Ins.Agency and the Ins.Co. and it's the same outcome each and every time "they insist on using the basis for the settlement that their Claim Rep.came up with which IS NOT what was stolen from me". To this day I still have no idea what Mr. S based his Property Settlement Worksheet on,as it certainly was not what I reported to him or the company. As I have stated everyone involved on the Ins.Co.side of this claim have apparently just ignored my side of this and totally disregarded MY itemized worksheet costs and based the entire settlement on what THEIR Claim Rep. came up with. The claim# is ***. I must add a personal note here and that is that this is a prime example why so many people despise Insurance Companies. A person pays their premiums year after year and if and when they have to turn in a claim then the Ins.Co. tries to screw then over in paying off the claim. It's a shame that companies such as this one are allowed to operate in the state of Minnesota. The company's address is as below.Auto-Owners Insurance Company

Auto-Owners Insurance Group Dustin T*** lied multiple times

Dustin T lied multiple times. Left our family of 9 in a home with open walls during the height of allergy season and a family that has asthma. I am so thankful our house work is finally complete. We had mold and open walls during the height of allergy season. We had a tremendous amount of stress dealing with all of it and I am so thankful it's finally done! *** with *** did an amazing job. Went above and beyond to get out house closed up. Unfortunately, our adjuster was not honest, was difficult to work with and did not accurately cover our contractors costs. I guess somehow Dustin T with Auto-Owners Insurance out of *** was oblivious to the fact that An EF-3 tornado tore through *** and *** the on April 13. The deadly storm left more than 150 homes and businesses damaged or destroyed and approximately 60,000 residents without power. This caused lumber shortages and skyrocketing prices. My insurance allowed $3.83 for 2x4s That cost $7.02...(just one example) Dustin also told our contractor that he hoped we had kept some of the money because our first contractor had way over charged. As previously noted in another post I believe. He told us *** was more expensive than any other mold remediation company and he would take their quote and divide it with the one he got (from a company in *** that never came to our house) AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE and divide it with ***'s and that's what he would pay our contractor that had already finished the job. He actually told me in person all mold remediation would be paid in full no matter the cost. He told the contractor he didn't need an up front estimate and in an effort to CYA he scheduled *** who never showed for the estimate. He then told our contractor that even though *** told them they could do it for 3 times less all day long, he would pay the invoice. When our contractor tried to get paid his final invoice Dustin T told him the difference would be sent to him directly that they would not be sending the *** any more money. When he followed up, he was told they weren't paying any more they had paid us enough. We have copies of the checks they sent us, all the emails. Recorded conversations and copies of the checks we sent out. If this is your insurance company, you may want to reconsider. They are great while taking your money every month for 7 years but if something happens to your home. The one you pay them to help protect. They will let your family sit in mold, with open walls and humidity for months rather than pay. But they won't hesitate to pay experts to come on 3 separate occasions which ended up costing them even more! Filing a complaint with the complaintsboard.com now! The *** branch's Dustin T is a flat out liar. Extremely difficult to work with! Actually...I've never worked with anyone more deceitful and in trustworthy. Consider that when you consider this company. The office manager Brian O was also completely unhelpful. Just kept telling us Dustin must be new but he had never met him.

Auto-Owners Insurance Group Had to file a claim due to home damage and RV damage of a storm

Had to file a claim due to home damage and RV damage of a storm. In September *** had severe winds. I had damage to my home as well as my personal recreation vehicle. I filed a claim with my insurance company. Soon after appraisers for each claim came out and took pictures and finished their appraisal of damages. This all happened the month after I was divorced (Aug 2020 my divorce was final, Sept. 2020 wind damage). My house claim has gone through and I have shown the insurance agent my bank statements proving that my ex husband and myself are no longer financially bound. However, for some reason the loan showing that I am the only owner of the recreational vehicle will not work for Mr. ***. (however as of Feb 2021 he decided it would work and is "trying" to get the legal team to use it) I have also expressed that my ex husband and I are on good terms and that he is willing to speak with Mr. to solve any issues. Mr. has been unresponsive to both me, my ex husband, other agents and apparently his supervisor. A supervisor called me to ensure me that they are working to get Mr. to do his job. I have email traffic showing that I have sent many emails with zero responses. I have tried to be patient with Mr. but he is not finishing my claim. I have stated me and my ex husband are on very good terms, so I also know that he is not responding to my ex husband. My RV is finished at the shop. It has been for some time. I am going to be picking it up, without my insurance check. They also cannot wait for Mr. to do his job. My ex husband has expressed that he has been waiting for responses from Mr., and that he has provided all information that Mr. asked for. Mr. is flat out just not taking care of this claim. I have now involved the woman who sold me the policy. She seems to be contacting me, however Mr. is still unresponsive. This company easily took my ex-husbands name off the check issued for the home policy, but refuses to do it for my Auto policy, same company, same storm, same people involved. They want a note from the bank, from my ex husband, notarized, saying that he is not on the loan. They want my husband to access my bank account to give them proof. I have submitted proof that we are no longer financially bound. Incompetence from all sides in this company. I need this check from my insurance company, in the original amount that was appraised $10,452.67. This check should be issued solely in my name so that I can cash ASAP because I have to charge the full amount of the RV repairs on my credit card. There will no longer be a payment due to the repair shop. I should not have to drive back and forth from *** to get a check indorsed by the RV repair shop, and I should not have to send the check out of state to get my ex husbands signature on the check. I also have spent the past 5 months paying for a vehicle that I was unable to use due to Mr. negligence. The appraisal was done quickly, the repairs where done quickly, but I am waiting for emails from a Senior Claim Representative? His behavior is unacceptable and this company is doing nothing about it. I need the check to pay off my almost maxed out credit card. I was told that I will be getting a "three party check" this would have my name, my ex husbands name as well as the repair shops name. Mr. also told me that it is because they want to make sure the property gets fixed. Property is fixed and I am the one paying for it. I want this check immediately, and in my name only so that I can pay off my credit card.
