On June 1st, 2023 I accidentally paid closed Chase credit card through Capital One Bill Pay. My bad, no questions asked. I filed a claim with Capital One as well as Chase hoping to reverse the transaction. Capital One customer service told me that the transaction was legitimate and there's nothing they can help me with. Chase was willing to return my money, but the problem was that Capital One bill pay still had my old address (that I changed a year ago on my account) on the proof of electronic payment they provided me with. Because of that the process with Chase got escalated and extended. I called Capital One to inquire why Bill Pay still has my old address when I updated everything on my account. The answer was it's a different system, but then how come they don't let their customers know that? The lady on a phone told me she will walk me through how to do it and when we stumbled on smth she just hung up on me. Great Customer Service! I'm a pretty old customer of Capital One, but now I'm seriously thinking about changing a bank. Within the past year I had a several issues and Customer Service was not helpful at all. They transfer you 10 times to different departments and then just hung up on you.
