JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Legal Newsline) - Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster announced a temporary restraining order on Friday against a Parkville, Mo., towing company for allegedly defrauding Joplin residents.

Northland Tow Services allegedly violated the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act in the aftermath of the May 22 Joplin tornado. Koster alleges that the company towed motor vehicles that were damaged by the tornado, falsely represented to some customers that it worked with an insurance company and towed other vehicles without the owners' permission or knowledge. A total of 54 vehicles were allegedly towed from the area affected by the tornado to a location in Baxter Springs, Kan.

"Unfortunately, there are always those who will take advantage of unsuspecting consumers during times of tragedy, " Koster said. "I want to continue to assure consumers that this office will be aggressive in going after those who engage in this illegal behavior."

The court order prohibits Northland from conducting business in Joplin, Jasper County, Mo., or Newton County, Mo., without having previously been solicited to do so. In addition, it is prohibited from transferring any motor vehicles it towed from the area affected by the tornado without prior approval of the court and from disposing of any documents related to the towing.

In June, Koster filed a similar lawsuit against Independence Tow & Recovery Inc. In both cases, Koster is seeking restitution for consumers and civil penalties.

I've been using Yahoo! mail for over 10 years, as my main email account for both personal and professional correspondance. My account's address is : ************, and this is the address all my friends, business partners and correspondents use to contact me. Last Thursday, out of the blue, with no notice or warning, Yahoo disabled my account - I could log in, and people who wrote me had their mails bounce back. I had urgent messages to send and to receive, and all my addresses and contacts are in this account.
I filled up forms on yahoo's website and got back an automated reply that I'll get an answer within 24 hours. I tried to call them on the phone long distance (as I'm in Europe right now), I was put on hold 4 times for over 30 minutes and 2 times for over 45 minutes (at a cost of $0.11 per minute) and never got to speak to a representative!
Yesteday (72 hours after I started writing them= 3 promissed periods of 24 hours) I got message informing me that my account was disabled because I violated the TOS, inviting me to go read the terms of service and ... to open a new yahoo account ! there was no explanation, no hint as to what where the allegations against me, and as I said, no advance notice or warning.
Needless to say that I never came even close to violating their TOS, Ive been using my account only for emails for over 10 years in exactly the same way. On the other hand, I know they are now upgrading and changing their systems and I wouldn't be surprised if it's because of a technical error that they don't admit.
In any case this causes me inestimated damage and most of all, since we're not in the soviet union, thank god, big brother can't just blame me with something with out explaining and without letting me defend myself, just arbitrarly and abusively waive off a 10 year old client who trusted tham with their most important communications.

i had undergone a change of name and had therefore applied for a new pan card.
i received a letter regarding a discrepancy in name inspite of submitting all the documents.
on receiving the letter i submitted once again a copy of my court affidavit, newspaper cutting, passport copy through speed post.
the speed post shows a delivery but the nsdl website still portrays the discrepancy and there has ben no updation.

Purchased for 2.97 grant kit with cancelation in 24 on 24 of April. Canceled n the 28th of Aprl after finding out they also took additional 57.61 on the 25th. I recently down loaded and installed the beta new version and it locks up my PC.
