Went to AT&T store to buy a new phone for my husband. We were buying several items and the rep updated our address in the system. A fraud alert was triggered. Rep called fraud line explained the situation, confirmed it was me and said the alert would be released. It wasn't. Store Rep called fraud alert again. Fraud rep was so mean, did not care that this was our second call and hung up on the store rep. After two more calls to the fraud line the hold was still not released even though they said it would be. After 4 hours I walked out of the store with no phone. The AT&T rep said it would be escalated to his boss. Almost two weeks later the fraud alert is still on my account. Personally talked with fraud dept yesterday. After trying to explain about my other 4 calls to fraud, the rep said he didn't care and didn't want to hear about it. I told him he needed to listen so I could explain. He said "Oh My God" and hung up on me. Inexcusable , unprofessional, just plain mean. They should all be fired. Still no phone for my husband so I had to cancel travel plans because I could not leave him without any means of communication. Obviously we're switching carriers. They do not even deserve one star. And by the way the AT&T rep in the store could not get it escalated and finally told me I was not a priority for his boss.
Recommendation: Go to another carrier
Oh my god, that is absolutely infuriating — 4 hours in the store and then hung up on twice?! You are a saint for not losing it completely. Good for you for switching carriers, they don't deserve a cent. Let 'em rot.
