When they whitened my teeth they burnt my gums, the dental hygenist broke my front tooth durning cleaning. They cleaned my teeth then rescheduled me for another appointment to polish my teeth. Could not get a timely appointment. They referred me to an endo for a root canal. He said for them to follow up post op. Two months later still no appointment and i'm still getting bill for something I don't feel I owe.. As I said I always paid at time of service. I will never use aspen again.

Please clear my name and my bill. Thanks

Desired outcome: don't send me another bill. I don't owe a thing.

Aspen Dental Fraudulent Insurance Claim

On 3/4/21 I came into the Martinsburg WV location to inquire about invisalign. Waited for my appt, but was told the dentist was busy with another procedure, so we set another appt. On the 13th of March, I was scanned for the Invisalign but never saw the dentist. On April 24th, my trays had arrived and I paid half of the amount that was due. I paid the rest of it on April 30th. That was a total out of pocket amount of $1750. I had been there 3 times without ever seeing a dentist. I never even filled out the patient intake form until the 30th, and on that day, I finally got to see a dentist. Dr. Vida Adjepon-Yamoah examined me and told me my gums were in no condition to proceed with the invisalign, and that I needed expensive deep cleanings -- which would cost about $1000 each. The tech by this point had already put the glue "knobs" on my teeth that were to secure the invisalign trays. All of this seemed to be bad business, so I immediately consulted another dentist not affiliated with Aspen. The second opinion I received was that I in NO way am a candidate for Invisalign. So I contacted the Aspen Dental local office in Martinsburg, WV on April 4th of 2021 and explained that I wanted a full refund of the $1750 I had paid PLUS I wanted my insurance company (Aetna) refunded also. After speaking with Bridgette from the regional office, I was promised a full refund to me and to Aetna. For the next 8 months, I called periodically for updates, and was told they would call me back or that various people were out of the office and that someone would get in touch with me. No one ever did. In January, I called the corporate number [protected] telling them they need to elevate my concern and make it a priority because I was absolutely out of patience. It took another month, but on 2/1/22, Jennifer from the regional office called and told me both me AND Aetna would receive our refunds that day. I received mine, but my insurance company never received theirs. In fact, I contacted my insurance company today, and they are still sending payments to Aspen Dental and have received nothing from Aspen saying the insurance claim has been cancelled. This pending claim is preventing me from being eligible for any further orthodontic work and is impairing my dental health.

Desired outcome: I need Aetna to receive a FULL refund for the amount of money they have paid to Aspen Dental and to cancel any future payments from Aetna to Aspen Dental.

I called them for an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. That's all I wanted done. I went in and they gave me all kinds of xrays etc then tells me I need $3000 worth of work done. I decided I didn't want their services. Altho I have dental insurance, they still managed to send me a bill for $206. I don't know what that is for, since I have ins. And trying to download a statement is a joke. It won't load up.

Aspen Dental X-ray and cleaning

I feel duped by Aspen and have requested for itemized billing but they are not willing to give me the information. Aspen Dental in cookeville Tennessee provided x-ray and cleaning services to me. I have dental insurance but the x-ray alone cost $142.00 and not to mention, the cleaning alone is about $200. There is almost no channel for patients to report problem so that they can seek redress.

Desired outcome: Right now all I am asking for is itemized billing but it seems that this is too much to ask.

Aspen Dental Partial/Damaged Crown

From 10-18-21 to 11-11-21 I was charged for services that were to be efficient & quality. As a senior I feel like I was fraudulently overcharged, for what was promised to be money-back guaranteed quality partials. I made an appointment for my mom & her insurance was charged for 3 extractions that never took place. And a $509 credit card charge for X-rays & consultation. As if they give premier services on Hollywood Boulevard. Charges are laid out upfront as I’ve never seen done before. The financial manager sees you & tells you your insurance pays little, then they offer Care Credit so they further overcharge you. Upon receiving the first upper partial, supposedly crafted for precise fit, it was adjusted and I have not worn them since. They are not flexilyte with soft reclines. Instead hard & taste like plastic. Second, I was given the lower partial that some new or student dentist could not get adjusted. I was given the L partial to take home & try after 3 adjustments in office. Third, I had an extraction with an immediate denture made that did not fit after gums were sore/swollen & being reassured that the immediate would fit after extraction. Questionable? I left the immediate & tries to talk to dentist in charge about my crown next to extracted tooth was damaged, and was told it will be okay. Upon receiving the lower partial & it not able to be adjusted properly or worn. I returned it & they were refusing to accept the return. I finally spoke to a financial manager & left it in denture case labeled with my name. I left messages to speak with dentist several times & he remained on vacation. So, I contacted Sychrony Bank w/Care Credit. About the partial being returned. Aspen over charges for simple services. Disregards their money back guarantees.

Desired outcome: The outcome desired was compensation. Of course there was no resolve or response, until Sychrony bank stepped in. Yet they still haven’t made any resolve. Sychrony was told, I had not cooperated, although I returned calls 3 times.

Failing crowns and bridge after Aspen Care and in tremendous pain. I called Aspen on morning of May 31st in pain asking if they could fit me in for an emergency appt to help relieve my pain. The receptionist quickly told me that would not be possible. She was more focused on booking me for an appointment to come in for more x-rays! I explained to her that...

Aspen Dental Credit card problem

I haven't even gotten my teeth yet. I am disabled and it sometimes takes time to get where I'm going. I just did my impressions and haven't received my teeth yet and the credit card company has me owing at least $450 $300 pass due. Myself and my care giver asked if the credit card starts as soon as I sign up or when I pay my down payment. The lady said when I have my teeth the credit card starts. If this is how Aspen Dental works I will tell the media is this scam and go somewhere else. I will contact the credit companies and call it fraud.

Desired outcome: Cancel the $450 and start credit once I've paid the down payment. Also a discount would be good since Aspen has screwed up

Aspen Dental Tooth pain

I had sever tooth pain on a Friday morning. Of course, it was the day that my normal dentist was closed so I looked to see where I could possibly be seen as I knew the tooth would have to be extracted. I went to our local Aspen Dental where there is a sign on the door that says emergency dental walk-ins are welcome. It was at11:30AM Friday morning. I went in the office and talked with receptionist and she said to let her check and she would let me know. She came back and said we cannot see you today because we close a 1:00PM on Fridays. Very bad customer service.

Desired outcome: Aspen needs to quit advertising walk-ins welcome for emergencies if they are not going to see whomever may come. I was there 1 and 1/2 hours before they closed.

Aspen Dental Implant

I started my implant process in July of 2020. Aspen dental in Manahawkin and Hackettstown charged me for services not completed. They charged me in full before submitting and receiving information back from my insurance company. They made a mistake in molding my tooth for the implant. The tech neglected to pull out the pin before taking scans. This was in the Hackettstown NJ office. This was in January. I have yet to receive the new tooth yet I have paid for this service in full. They charged me for another tooth that they did not complete. I only found this out when my insurance company sent me an explanation of benefits. I called my insurance company and they said that Aspen Dental in Hackettstown NJ fraudulently accepted monies from my insurance company AND charged my credit card in full. They would not return my call. I had to call corporate office several times and it was when I told them about the payments and my insurance company that they refunded the money for the work they did not complete. However, they also haven't made me whole with the tooth I paid for. The excuse I got was that they sent the new tooth back because they said I didn't want to go there anymore. Then they realized the lie they were telling and told me that they will have my tooth back in the office in one week and will call me. That was two weeks ago. That side of my mouth is in pain due to not having a tooth there. I am concerned more damage is being done by this. I am going to contact my corporate attorney to get their advice.

Desired outcome: I want the tooth put in and all monies that i spend on this tooth reimbursed for pain and suffering.

Aspen Dental Permanent partial dentures.

On August 31, 2021, in the Westminster, Md office, I had teeth removed & dentures put in. I had many revisions done until March 31, 2022. On that date I was fitted for permanent lower partial dentures. I was told it would take 6-8 weeks to get my dentures, It is now May 24, 2022. I still do not have my permanent partial lower dentures, Whenever I call, I am told we will call when they come in. No explanation has been given as to why I have not gotten them yet. I am very unhappy with how my dentures feel. I hope if & when I finally get my permanent dentures that they will be comfortable enough for me to enjoy my food.

Aspen Dental Dental malpractice

In 2020, I registered as a new patient with Aspen Dental to have routine X-rays, cleaning, and one wisdom tooth extracted because my regular dentist was closed due to Covid-19, and my wisdom tooth was impacted and painful. When I made the appointment I was told that the x-rays and cleaning will be done during that first appointment, but I would have to come back for a second appointment for the wisdom tooth extraction. Absolutely understandable.

Upon arriving to the first appointment, I was asked if I would be "self-pay" or if I was using insurance, to which I informed them I was a self-pay patient. I was taken back to do the x-rays, and then told I needed to speak with the manager up front to schedule the remaining procedures. When I asked why I was not getting my routine cleaning as told I would be, the technician responded that I have "severe Gingivitis" and would need a deep cleaning which is more than she had time for that day.

Not knowing much about Gingivitis or really any oral problems, I assumed they were correct and something was wrong with my mouth. When I approached the manager's desk, she already had everything printed out for this specialty cleaning, wisdom tooth extraction, prescription toothpaste, prescription mouthwash, and an Oral B electric toothbrush that I was told I had to have in order to get rid of my Gingivitis. All of this combined totaled over $2,000. When I informed her that I was self-pay and couldn't afford that, she offered the option to finance everything with their in-house financing, and after being sticker-shocked at the price, but having pain in my mouth, I agreed.

When I arrived for my "deep Gingivitis cleaning" the next week, I was told that in addition to Gingivitis I needed 4 fillings for "very deep cavities that are almost at root canal level". Back to the manager I went, and another two visits to fill said cavities were booked, and an additional $800 was added to my total bill.

I went back for my two different days for filling procedures where the dentist drilled holes into my teeth and appeared to be working on whatever it was in there. I then was finally scheduled for my wisdom tooth extraction about 3 weeks after my initial visit for that reason. The dentist came in, pulled my tooth in literally under 1 minute and said have a nice day. I noticed there was only one root. When I asked if that was normal, he assured me everything was fine. Also that day, I asked about having my front 4 teeth bonded since the bonding I had done in 2009 was starting to deteriorate. Again, another appointment was made and I was assured that the dentist who would be doing it was fantastic at cosmetic dentistry.

When I arrived for that appointment I should have known better. The dentist was fumbling around with his tools, he could not get the bonding material to set correctly after trying multiple times, and at one point dropped a tool directly onto my mouth. After about an hour and a half he said he was done and handed me the hand mirror to inspect, which, it looked like a decent enough job so I was satisfied.

In this entire process, I was handed a folder and told I would be emailed with information on how to pay my bill every month. That never happened. When I called the office to ask how to pay they informed me they cannot send over any information and if it wasn't in my folder then I basically had to figure it out.

Fast forward to 2021, my regular dentist reopened his practice, and I was able to get an appointment for my routine cleaning. When my dentist was doing the normal inspection of density and whatnot, he asked me what happened. I was then informed that the exact 4 teeth I supposedly had filled at Aspen had large manmade holes in them and no filling. My dentist's exact words were "honey, I think they filled them with air because there's nothing in those holes". Requiring me to have to pay to have those same 4 teeth filled again. In addition, there is still a root from my wisdom tooth left in my top bone, requiring another removal expense, and all 4 of my front bonded teeth have chipped and cracked all the way to the gum line, which will require thousands of dollars to fix. Additionally, when I asked my regular dentist if my Gingivitis has improved, he literally laughed and told me I've never had Gingivitis, and deep gum cleanings were a main cause of infections and never necessary.

In hindsight, I should have known better, but I felt I was being appropriately guided by professionals. I was pressured into opting for their financing because of their false claims that my oral health needed to be fixed in an urgent manner. Their malpractice and mishandling of my teeth and gums has resulted in me paying thousands of dollars to repair the issues I was assured were taken care of but were only intentionally made worse in hopes I would come back. As of today, I am being sued by Aspen Dental's collections agency for the remainder of my balance for services I never technically received.

Desired outcome: Remove collections from my credit report and drop the civil lawsuit for remaining balance.

Aspen Dental Denture failure

I purchased the best dentures with a seven year warranty! A year and half two front teeth fell out. Being on a weekend I was frantic I had to super glue them in because I work with public. I went to have them repaired correctly and I am told I voided the warranty because of super glue. What?!?! They shouldn’t have fallen out in the first place. What a ripoff I am going to file a complaint with the BBB if this isn’t resolved. I should get a new set instead of them trying to repair them so I have to pay $100 repair bill if they can fix them should have never happened

Desired outcome: A new set of dentures (upper) would be nice so the teeth don’t randomly fall out

Aspen Dental unclean surgical enviroment

I had to get my wisdom teeth extracted and when I went into the room I notice the surgical tray with instruments was wide open and I hope they were sterilize, I sat down to wait for the procedure, the oral surgeon Charles Milton did not introduce his self but put a suction in my mouth and telling me how to use it

but when I look at the other suction next to it they were bloody and unsterile, when he step out the office I ask one of the techs to clean the other suctions and they were not nice about it but had a very cold and rude demeanor. After the surgery was over I was given gauze to hold the blood, and I was told to change the gauze when it filled up, I followed instructions and did that, but when I went to change gauze I notice dirt and hair was on several of the gauzes... Disgusting! I'm not sure if I can trust any Aspen Dentals because of that experience... I was scared to say anything but I feel it wouldn't be right not to say anything about it. I'm nervous for my health and I truly believe A person will reap what they sow and everyone in that office will reap what they sow. VERY EVIL PEOPLE!

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for negligence so I can see a physican and get check up to make sure bacteria wasn't passed on.

Aspen Dental Disgusted with aspen dental. Utterly & grossly disgusted.

Absolutely disgusted with you Aspen Dental. (Talmadge Road, Toledo Ohio) HOW DARE YOU TREAT my daughter like you did.

1.) Forgot to call in URGENT antibiotics at her first visit. Yes. FORGOT. Oops. They couldn’t even do the extraction because the infection was soo bad. As someone with a Nursing background, I have seen people go septic & DIE over these type of infections.

Shame on you Aspen.

2.) The Dentist was rude & wouldn’t allow her to speak or explain that she was only there for 1 extraction. Literally said “I am talking. When I am finished, YOU may speak.” And proceeded to tell her everything she should have completed, even though she has insurance. There is a wait list for her other Dentist & this was an emergency.

3.) She explained to the Dentist repeatedly that she is developing facial paralysis from nerve damage around this tooth. Antibiotics that you forgot to call in, were pertinent.

4.) Second visit to have the tooth extracted was today [protected]) I am grossly disgusted once again with how she was treated. You have faith in such a big company that works with patients in medicine. Patients that come to you in pain, anxiety & needing help. So to be treated like a number & garbage is unacceptable. How dare you.

HOW. DARE. YOU.

5.) She numbed the tooth & didn’t wait for the numbing to even work. She IMMEDIATELY went to extract a tooth that was not properly or effectively numbed. Then proceeded to argue with her that she wasn’t in pain. My daughter physically jumped up out of the chair, as she’s been dealing with nerve pain & facial paralysis from this infected tooth.

6.) The Dentist injured an unrelated tooth & surrounding gum tissue that now has to heal as well as the extracted tooth.

She is in MORE PAIN NOW than before she went in.

Shame on you Aspen. And it’s 6pm & once again, didn’t call in her antibiotics OR necessary pain medication. Do you enjoy people being in pain? Are you sadistic or you just don’t give a [censored] about your patients?

I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, Aspen Dental Headquarters & the Dental Board. I want some of my money back. That is not up for conversation. No thank you for the [censored]ty treatment of my daughter who already deals with dental anxiety.

Disgusted doesn’t even cut it. She is worse now than before she went in.

Shame on you, you SADISTS.

Desired outcome: I want at least 50% of my $300 back. No. I DEMAND IT.
