I was the only one at the clinic. Front desk staff was courteous. Medical assistant brought me back asked all the routine questions like meds I am on, what is going on, ect. Nurse practitioner finally came and asked me all the same questions including my meds so I really felt she did not look at anything and seemed upset that I did not want to list all my meds and dosages again. NP gave me prescription cough syrup and cough drops?. I told her I had not slept for 4 days with this severe sore throat with bright green phlegm and she told me to use a netty pot? My nose is not running or stopped up which I told her and she said I did not have to use it and to take unisom to sleep? What? She said she was working on my cough med script so I went to the waiting room. Still the only one there 45 minutes later they ask what I doing there. They sent the script but did not tell me that or that I could leave. I see why I was the only one there and hope no one else has the experience I had or worse.
Desired outcome: Training for the NP to include listening to the pt., reviewing the record before seeing the onlyPt. At the clinic, making treatment plans with the pt., and clearly communicating when they are done and you can leave.
