I am filing a complaint against American Express.
During the past couple of years, they have been sending me threatening emails demanding immediate payments of around $2,000 and sometimes more
I have been a loyal American Express account holder for 32 years and have never defaulted on my payments .
Instead of asking me to pay a higher minimum amount due over a period of several months, they send me emails demanding a payment for thousands to be made within a matter of days
I had just made my minimum payment for January when they emailed me demanding $1,930 to be made within in 4 days
This has occured 3 or 4 times before during the last 2 and a half years .
I paid them $2000. around Sept 2023 and $1,200 on another event during the past 12 months as well as other large payments when these surprise threatening emails were sent to me .
I spoke to 2 representatives on Jan 23rd 2026 and asked them to make an exception due to my long standing loyalty of 32 years in which I have usually paid higher than the minimum amount due
I ask that American Express stop this unfair practice of abusing their clients such as me.
I would like them to rescind this demand of me paying $1,930 by January 24th
I have already payed more than the minimum amount due for January .
