Due to a documented medical emergency (severe condition, doctors strictly advised against traveling), we had to cancel our upcoming trip. Airbnb and the host only returned less than 25% of the total amount ($300 out of $1200), insultingly calling it a "goodwill gesture."To make things worse, the host IMMEDIATELY RE-BOOKED the property to someone else for our exact dates—meaning they got paid TWICE for the same nights. Right after doing this, they also CHANGED THE HOST'S NAME and used different photo angles on the listing to hide their tracks and avoid consequences. This illegal double-dipping and predatory behavior is unacceptable.
Claimed loss: 8-day stay - approx. $890
Desired outcome: A reasonable refund, not only a "goodwill gesture" of under 25%
