We booked flights from HK to Kota Kinabalu 5/11 to 12/11. AirAsia cancelled our flights and said they would move our flights to 6/11 to 13/11. We could not delay our trip by a day as we had a flight to the UK on the 13/11. New flights cost us £494.10 leaving on the 5/11 with a stop over in the Philippines taking nearly 7 hours and returning 11/11. Original flights were both direct flights and cost £384.61. Plus we lost 1x night accommodation in Kota Kinabalu and we had to pay for an extra night accommodation in HK. Total extra cost £203.00 AirAsia will not help with this situation even though AirAsia cancelled the flights. Maybe this is how the make extra money , cancel a flight and get the customer to book a new flight closer to the departure date so it is more expensive.
Claimed loss: Rebooking new flights and extra hotel cost us £203.00 totally due to AirAsia cancelling ourflights
Desired outcome: We would like AirAsia to reimburse the extra costs we incurred due to the flight cancellation
