Poor service right from the start - ADT security system. Salesman documented incorrect (important) information while doing paper work - our home phone number (of all things!) We had to contact them right away for concerns/questions & request for some repairs and of course they were unable to contact us due to having the incorrect phone number. We finally figured out that the rep had not written down our home phone number correctly. Then the day of installation, we had to deal with a young, inexperienced service tech who spent more time talking and being nosey than doing his job - interrupting our conversations as he walked by to put his two cents worth in. After the tech left, we noticed that he had left quite a mess. He did not clean up after himself as ADT claims that they do. We had another service tech come out about a month later to add another door to our security system and he had informed us that our brand new battery from the initial installation was dead. The 1st guy who was out had forgotten to hook up the battery! Anyways, we had requested that the 2nd tech wire a service door in our garage - hard wire. When my husband got home from work (who is an electrician) he had discovered that this 2nd tech had not hard-wired the door like we had requested! So more phone calls and another service call so the tech could return to correct his mistake. During all of this, we have been attempting to go online to ADT website to claim our rebate checks as promised. We were unsuccessful online, so we began to make phone calls. What a joke. We get stuck calling these 1-800 numbers and of course get recordings. When we did eventually get thru to a real live person to speak with, we would begin to explain our concern of not receiving our rebate checks and every single person that we spoke to would put us on hold and then connect us w/ another recording. Nobody wanted to speak w/ us or help us. One employee finally said that the check will be sent out and we should recieve it within 2 weeks. It has been another 2 months now again. We are sick and tired of getting the run-around from ADT and also being ripped off! We are now in the process of attempting to contact someone to have the entire security system removed from our home - and a refund! But this process will probably take a half a year to complete due to the incompetence of ADT.

After waiting for weeks for a mysterious confirmation number to show up in my mailbox, well past my 30 days and four customer service reps later, I have to send out my service contract for the THIRD time and have my rebate check cut in half. And apparently this is a courtesy to me. They "understand my frustration", but this is all they can offer me as I defaulted on my thirty days. I have jumped through every possible hoop to get to where I am right now and that is-- screwed. They make it so that you can't get your rebate presumably as a scam to make money. I have encountered plenty of rebates that were simple and fast. This company doesn't provide a way to do the rebate information on line. They don't even have a way for me to track the status of my rebate on line. And to top it all off-- THEY HAVE ALL MY INFORMATION! MY ACCOUNT NUMBER, MY CONFIRMATION NUMBER, MY ADDRESS, MY NAME, ETC. THEY KNOW I HAVE A WORKING SYSTEM IN MY HOUSE AND YET I AM STILL NOT ELIGIBLE FOR MY REBATE! I don't understand how two companies can work so closely and not be able to get this right. It's a common problem and my personal opinion is that it is done completely on purpose to screw people out of their money... HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!

I DESPISE this company! DO NOT do any business with ADT or their so called approved companies! You will regret it! Their costumer service is a complete joke...they are EXTREMELY misleading...and good luck EVER having anyone call you back even though they say they will call back within 24-48 hours. DO NOT sign anything with them because if youre disatisfied and want to cancel for ANY reason you need to pay 75 % of the term you signed for. I am looking into filing a suit and contacting BBB and the MEDIA so they can expose this horrendous company!

I used to work for ADT and what I have been reading is horrifying and confirms a lot of complaints I have read. Be careful when going to cancel your system or have your system removed I have heard of techs coming out and cutting holes in walls to remove panels and then leaving you with holes in the walls and their policy is not to repair these. I have also heard that to much of people's surprises they have been wrangled into a 3 or 5 year contract and if they want to early cancel they must buy out the rest of the contract.

I had an ADT system installed on July 13, 2009 which didn't go to bad until we recieved an absolutely screwed up bill and wrong mailing address. ( luckily we live in a small town and our mail carrier recognized the name! ) Then came time for the rebate. After about two weeks of phone calls with no progress I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau. I was contacted two days later and finially recieved our rebate forms. Today, October 10th, I find out that our rebate was declined because it was not during the offer time frame. The representative we initially talked with on the phone talked to us about this offer and the installers assured us of this offer as well. I believe we will be pursuing having this system removed and going with a better company.

I GOT MY REBATE CHECK…FINALLY!
Took 5 months worth of calling & calling (17 CALLS TOTAL), but I have the check in my hands!
It probably didn’t hurt that I included my business card which said that I work for a litigation company, on a complaint note….and pow, just like that, a check in 3DAYS!

We also bought a ADT system on Feb. 2. 2009. We also had to call several times to get them to send us the rebate form. We finally recieved the rebate form on may 22nd, I filled the form out and mailed it back on may 23rd. It is now August 10. When I called to ask about the rebate they said there was no 200.00 rebate even offered in Feb. I agree with all the other people on here ADT is nothing but a rip-off and they are scamming people just to get there money! ! ! ! ! !
