YES! Communities - mesquite ridge/mesquite tx

To whom it may concern,

I leased a home at Mesquite Ridge in Mesquite Tx for almost 5years. Recently I had to move out because the manager told me that we were going to receive a 60 day vacancy letter stating that we needed to purchase the home or move out. Of course all this was a big surprise I have kids therefore I started looking for somewhere else to leave I didn't want to be homeless and with three kids. Now I loved the community and my neighbors but since Mesquite Ridge got the new manager we were never able to get any issues resolved. Since the new manager took over she had tried to convince me to purchase the home she will send little gift to the house, changed my floor after I had told her so many times that my floor was broken but she did not approve to change the floor until she was trying to convince me to buy the home. A few months after she changed the floor in the home, the floor started to untick and we would trip over it and started to rip. I called and I told her about it. She sent maintenance to take pictures and told me that it seems that that's happening because of the way I mop, of course I was confused and she also stated that it seemed that someone ripped the floor with something sharp. I was so upset but respectfully I explained what was happening to the floor and that had nothing to do with my moping. She told me that they had already put a lot of money in that house and was not going to fix anything. Also someone broke the water faucet outside which we think it was the people that she sent to cut yards randomly and my neighbor was the one who reported that to the office and the maintenance went out and cover it but never fixed it. My husband called her about and she returned his call one month later and she told him that that was not the community's problem that it was something that needed to be fixed by the city which she never called the city to get it fixed. My husband also told her that we are never able to get ahold of her that they never answer the phone and when we go to the office she's never there she's always on vacation or meetings. Since than we felt like she was not fixing anything at the house because she was trying to push us to move out. After all that happen I went to the office to ask for a copy of my lease thats when she told me that we were going to receive that 60 day vacancy letter and of course because of everything that had happened we were not planning to purchase the home just because of her. We felt that she was only acting nice so we would purchase the home but since we didn't she started pushing us away because three months passed and she never sent us the letter. Thanks to God we found a home where to move to and I sent her a 30 day notice on August 21, 2019. She called me and told me she was going to accept my letter however we needed to move out by the end of August or the end of September, we accepted to move out by the end of August. She called me Friday August 30 and told me that she would be at the house on Saturday August 31, at 12pm or 1pm to do the walkthrough of the house, again we felt that that was so unfair because we were planning to move out that day we had already rented a U haul and I explained this to her and she told me that I had to be completely moved out by 1pm because her office closes at 2pm and she was not going to be able to do the walkthrough after. I told her I needed to talk to my husband and I would get back to her, After talking to my husband I sent her an email telling her everything I had already told her over the phone and that we felt that it was unfair because we had already paid the rent for that month and it was only fair to have until 12am that Saturday to move out. That I would off appreciate if she had told us with time in advance to planned our move out before the 31st . I also asked her to call me after to do the walkthrough which she never did. She than responded to my email and she agree and she told me to drop off the key on the night drop. A week after we received a letter stating that our security deposit was forfeit and no other pages were attached. I called her, email her for three days and no answer I wanted to know why was my security deposit forfeit finally on Thursday she answered the phone and told me that my security deposit was forfeit because of the damages of the house and she did not know why that form was not mailed out to me so I asked her to email it to me which she did until the next day . While I was on the phone she did go over the damages with me but she kept talking and talking listing all the damages one of the damages that was charged was the cleaning of the house she said because of the way the fridge smell however it was cleaned. That toilet had pee stains and she also sent pictures, however it's not pee stains is water stains from the toilet water because it was all rotten from inside. The Saturday we were completely moved out by 2pm and I went back to the house to clean and wiped everything with Clorox wipes, vacuum, mopped the floor, cleaned the fridge took all the trash out I was there cleaning until 9pm that night thats when I sent her an email telling her I was at the office dropping off the key on the night drop. I also took pictures of the house before I left and the house was completely cleaned. Now she also stated that the floor was dirty and she was also charging me for the painting on one of the walls that was painted red I feel that that's normal wear because we did not sat there and scratched the wall on purpose of course theirs going to be some type of minor scratches on the wall we were there almost five years. Now we were not allowed to make any adjustments to the house how did we supposed to fix the painting issue. As she was telling me on the phone about all the damages I was trying to explain and she would not let me even when she answered the phone I tried to tell her the reason why I was calling and she kept interrupting me saying "I was off" I was off " . She did not care what I had to say she was rude and I express my concern and told her how was it possible that she was charging us for all those damages she was not answering my question or making any comments towards my concerns she just kept going over the list. She also stated that the drape door was broken, now the drape door was already broken maintenance replaced it with a broken one they had taken off from another home and stated that they were going to order a new one and that never happened, now she is charging me for that too. After our conversation she email me the list the next day, ones again I express my concerns to her on email and told her that it's so unfair that she charging us for something that was already broken and for the cleaning when the house was cleaned . She was also charging for the carpet when we recently moved the carpet was not new so why should we paid for new carpet, also she was charging for the blinds of course they gave us cheap blinds of course they are going to break after five years, when the other manager was there she would do the monthly check and would replace our air filter and any blinds that were damaged but with her she only did it ones and that was when she was trying to convince us to purchase the home. On the email I also asked her to send me the number from the corporate office but she never did instead she send me the number for her regional manager. I called him and left voicemail for a whole week and I never got a call back. I emailed her again asking for the corporate office because her regional manager never answered or got back to me, she email me back stating that he has been in meetings all week and that I was not going to receive any of my security deposit back. I'm not asking for all of my money but I do want her to be fair. We really wanted to purchase our home but the way she was acting made us take the decision not to stay. Two week before we moved out my neighbors went to asked about the house because they were interested in purchasing the house and she told them that the house was already sold a month ago but I had just told her we were moving out a few days before I feel that the way all this was handled was wrong I feel she just wanted to sell the house for her commission and she did not care about us as a community I feel to her is just a job the more money the better for her and doesn't care about the families that leave in the community to her we're just numbers. Now I'm not the only one that has concerns, theirs a lot of people in the community that have lots of concerns about her as a manager but most of them are Hispanic and of course they do not know where to search for help because she is not giving anyone the number to the corporate office. Starting that it's so hard to get someone on the phone at that office she's never there people show up and the girl there is the one that get screamed at because the manager is never there and the girl doesn't have authorization to do anything without the manager. We have seen several maintenance people many office girls and they all get fired or leave after she took over obviously theirs something wrong there. Hope someone is able to help me with this issue.
