Windham Professionals review: Rude and seems like a scam 103

This company has been calling me non stop for a few yrs now, claiming that I had a student loan that was in collections that I never paid. I was young, stupid, and just got out of college and I didnt know any better. So, I started making small payments here and there regarding it. The only statement theyve ever sent me is one that is from their letterhead. I thought I consolidated all my loans with Chase Student Loans Services but they insist on me having these loans from the MA Board of student loans. One guy from there who has called me claims to be Billy Vasil or Milly Basil. He slurs his words and when I told him I was making monthly payments of $50 and thats how it was gonna be to stop calling me, he got very rude and was somewhat insulting. I dont put up with anyone talking to me like that, nevermind some guy from a collection agency. So i decided to do some research since he keeps calling and leaving harrasing messages. I was just curious what my rights were, how can I find out if this is a scam, and what can I do? How can I make the calls stop?

Thanks You

Frank Rubino

Some of Windhams employees lack professionalism, common sense, and basic manners from grade school! The employees discuss accepting responsibilities for your financial debt. However, when Windham made a mistake on my account and my bank assured me that they never even attempted to collect money on that i set up on an automatic debit, they refused to accept responsibility for that. Then they argue you down that it's all in the past and you should just start all over with the payment process. . . . . . these people crack me up, they can go to hell.

Okay first of all, let's make one thing clear; the people who work for these company's are normal, everyday people. they go home and have lives, and more likely than not they hate their job more than you hate them. let's also keep in mind that they are a collections agency, therefore they deal with picking up the mistakes and trying to track down the money that you have defaulted on or left to pile up. regardless of having been young and dumb or if it simply comes down to not being able to afford paying monthly payments, you the borrower/consumer broke a contract of payment.

Every, let me repeat, e. v. e. r. y. collections agency will call you everyday, multiple times a day. this is not harrassment. they are doing their job. also, if any of you actually know what a credit report looks like let's keep in mind that when you initially borrow money, that will show up as one action on your credit report. when you default or charge off, they send it too collections, which adds another potentially negative action on your report. what does one plus one equal, two! just because different people are asking for the money, doesn't mean the initial strike disappears. and in case you can't figure out what that means, it means your credit report is going to look bad. if you take out five separate students loans for five semesters, and default on all five and they transfer to another collector, that's 10 potentially negative actions alone. stop avoiding the collectors. yes, they are not always the nicest of people, but neither are the consumers. you answer your phone and act annoyed that heaven forbid someone call you tracking down money you owe, which is absolutely ridiculous. why do they deal with your anger for your mistakes? don't feed them a sob story about a million different things and how things haven't been going well, i'm sure they already assume as much and they've already heard it today. they get paid to be stern (notice I say stern, not mean. there is a difference.).

And to be quite frank, enough with the insults people. if it makes you feel better to imply that the people working these jobs are losers and can't get better jobs, then just remember at this point in time most people will take whatever job security they can obtain with the present state of the economy. and don't forget you're contributions to the economy by defaulting on your loans and running businesses into the ground with your thoughtlessness and procrastination has a lot to do with the economy's poor state.

And to the self-righteous who like to condemn people for owing money. Sometimes people have hardships. I moved out of my Mother's home and she cut me off financially. At this time I had probably over 40 job applications submitted and my current job offered me 22 hours a week at $8.85 and hour. I had no way of paying. I acquire many more hours very shortly after my delinquency and even when I called fully intending to pay off my $4, 000 balance within roughly 2 months, John Riley still spoke to me like a criminal. I think the type of person who would ignore their debt who not be the type to post here. Point of my rant: even those paying or with the intent to pay are treated horribly by this company.

I am working with Windham now. I am very very good about paying my bills but due to some unfortunate circumstances that are quite involved I was not making payments to my school and my balance went delinquent.

Windham took over and on the first phone call they advised me to being monthly payments. I told them I was quite broke and could afford $50 a month. The rep told me that with a balance the size of mine $50 payments are unreasonable and that $100 payments would be more appropriate. When I repeated once more that I was quite broke he said "Then I suggest you win the lottery." Windham Professionals is a horrible name for this company.

I ignored their calls for about a month and when I was finally in a situation (going from working 22 to 70+ hours) where I could pay them, I called them back. I spoke with the rep that handles my case. When explaining to him various facts regarding my case he began interrupting me constantly in an insulting way. It took me nearly 10 minutes of screaming at him before I got enough time to tell him I wanted to pay $400+ a month. Riley is very uninformed. He told me online bill pay is not an option. Minutes of browsing their site told me different.

It has been two weeks and I have already paid nearly $1200 and now I wait until the next time he disrespects me. It is a good feeling knowing I am paying off my debts and making Riley's job hell in the meantime.

Hello, Windham NonProfessionals is a horrid company. I have had to go off on this [censor] named Lisa almost everyday. Astrive sent my account to them, but I haven't even graduated from college yet. And yes I am still a fulltime student. This is unfair! I was supposed to have 6months after I graduated to start making payments. Can someone help me on what to do?

BTW, To all the people who believe you should just pay your debt and quit complaining, its easier said then done. My father worked at Bill Heard in Georgia and one day he went to work and all the doors were locked. His team waited for hours wondering, "What the hell?!?" Until the manager called and said, "Oh YEA, ""We have closed for good." Without any kind of notice people are losing jobs and sadly they are creating debts, not by choice. So paying these [censor] companies is the last thing on your mind when you have 4 kids to feed, a rent, car note, and 3 growing boys all under 17. I guess we could pay Windham and live on the street eating rat [censor], but I don't think so. They will not get the balance in full from my family. If they can't accept money orders on a payment schedule then they can really kiss my [censor]. Real talk.

i've been dealing with windham for a good 6 months now. the person that contacted me to collect my debt was very nice. my account then got turned over to someone else in the office that who, once again, was very nice. they provided me with all the info i needed whenever i requested it, and told me how to go about taking my loan out of default. These were all people from the New Hampshire office - they all seem friendly and on top of their game. However, today, i spoke with the [censor]s you guys are talking about. They appear to be in the boston location. I have been going threw the application process to get everything resolved, and my only problem, was that i lost a phone number to contact them. So i had looked up a number online, and ran across an 800 number to contact them threw. I called the number, and some lady answered the phone, i told her who i was looking for, she was very rude to me right off the bat, acting as if i was bothering her from her job, when all i was trying to do is find someone that works for the company, so i could find out about the progress of my application. She wanted my SSN, and i told her politely "I'm not giving that info out over the phone - is there any other information i can provide to you to help you assist me regarding the info i'm trying to find, or how to locate the person in charge of my account?" She rudely said "no" and hung up on me. I called them back immediately, and a man answered the phone this time. I asked him if he knew how i could get a hold of the person in charge of my account. Once again, he wanted my social. Instead, i gave him the full name of the person in charge of my account, and had explained to him that i have an application being processed, and i only want to speak to my account representative. He then wanted his extension. I had to explain to him once again, that i had lost his number, therefor i don't even have his extension. After arguing with him for a while (about 5 min) he finally looked up the rep i was talking about, and found him within 5 seconds of me talking him into doing it... seriously... how hard was that for him? so anyways, upon him finding out who my rep was, he told me his extension, and then started talking to me like i'm a child, about how i need to keep his extension available to be able to contact him.. i almost hung up on him, but i let him give me his 2 min lecture on how i'm irresponsible for losing a phone number. Finally, he transfered me to the new hampshire office, and my rep wasn't available, so i spoke with someone else i haven't spoken with before. He was very friendly, gave me all the info i was asking for, and never asked me for my SSN. So my conclusion is that it depends on the office your communicating with to get the results you want. The boston office is useless, and it should be shut down - you should never open a conversation by asking for your SSN and then hanging up on someone when you want a different method to find your rep. However, i support the new hampshire office, and respect the way they do business. They're on top of their game, and i suggest you talk with them before anyone else if you want to resolve issues with their company. Be respectful to new hampshire, and you'll get what you want... don't ever talk to boston though! New Hampshires 866 number is: [protected] - they are very friendly - please treat them respectfully so they don't turn out like boston!

I have an account with windham currently and I agree with gloria... they have been the most courteous, professional, and best bill collectors to work for... I am speaking with a young man named tristan, and he has been nothing but kind and wonderful to work with... if you have student loans you cannot pay, consolidate them. you all did the entrance interview and watched the video and took the quiz about paying back student loans. you cannot run away from them... they are yours to pay, and if half of our bills worked this way our country would not be so financially broken right now... pay your bills people!

I have had the same experience with these horrible people. I believe that the debt they are trying to collect from me is a scam also. They told me I cleared all my debts with them and then out of now where a month later they found another one. Ridiculous! It is more than a scam though it is how they treat people and the threats they use, which is totally illegal. Does anyone have any information or good contacts to sue them or get them back. Thank you

J86 maybe you should shut your #ing mouth!... if your not part of this business or in this part of the company your input is not needed!... because for your information I am paying my bill monthly!.. but this #ed up want to be professional company don't know how to return a phone call or give curcial information when setting up contracts! so why don't you crawl back under your desk and start doing some good for this company and actually do your jobs! return clients calls and make sure to inform them that when they set up a contract with you at the end of the year that 4 payments must be paid before filing taxes or the irs will take your money regardless if your paying or not! you all should ask you mommy what respect means or look it up in the dictionary because the # that work for this company need to learn this word! especially being in costumer service!

maybe all of you stupid people should stop complaining and pay your debts. you can borrow the money but you cant pay it back? and then you have the nerve to complain and mock the people who are just doing their jobs? i have a student loan that i pay monthly on. i dont even work in collections but most of these complaints are ridiculous. nothing worse than self righteous, entitled people who think they can do whatever they want.

I received a phone call from this company 2 months after sally mae put my loan in collection and started a wage garnishment against me (I guess sally didn't like that I couldn't afford more than they were getting)... the person I spoke with made this sound soooo good. although I should have stuck with the garnishments. because this person failed to inform me that even though I was making my payments monthly like I had agreed too, that I would have to have at least four payments paid in before filing my taxes. my agreement was set up in oct. so now even though my loan is being paid for the irs still took all my money I was getting back because of this error. when I called to speak with someone about this matter, that person told me its not their responsibility to inform us of this matter. so who is supposed to inform us of this?... I have children to support, house payment to make that was way over due and now I am homeless because I was doing what I felt was the right thing, by paying this bill through this company instead of having the garnishment taken out of my check. and because they didn't recieve my payment for december until after the first of the year. (due to new years holidays) that payment doesnt count for the month that was actually being paid for, how fair is that especially since the office was closed for the holidays?!? they sound on this web site like the perfect company, just don't read the comments because they are the worlds most improfessional people I have ever delt with in my life. an I work for a hotel, personally if it were me trying to get the money for these others companies (like I have to with the business I deal with) I would not be rude and make faulse accusations against people. especially if your wanting their money. but if you think it is working than you do this, and hopefully j3nni3girl does send your rude comment to your clients to the bbb and they close your doors for your imporfessionalism! hope you all have a good enough job history to get another job when they do because in the world today, your not gonna find a job soon... and then what are you gonna do when its you being the one to deal with people like you?!?

Ok what really suprises me about these comments... all of you from windom! I have made copies of your comments and sent them into the bbb... yea you can make your calls but being rude and accusing us for things that we are not doing is just down right inhuman! personally I don't care for your company and your people! you do not call back when people call to get information... and when you do get someone they act like it is killing them to answer your questions right! or give you comments like well once you got your degree, well unlike all of these others that got a degree I didn't I was unable to finish my college courses due to having a death in the family I had to move away from thsi area and have been living for the past 6 yrs on min. wage at 36 hrs. a week, sounds like I am so able to go spend and blow my money on other things than my 3 children huh?!? so set on your fat # and make your smart # comments and when your at those pearly gates in the sky and st peter is not letting you in don't you dare wonder what you done so wrong its call being rude, not treating your fellow men/women like you would want to be treated, oh wait, your with the way you all act this is a waste because not one of you are show that you beleive in god so have your fun rotting in hell!

I see that someone wrote that they tried to pay there student loan and tx gov wouldnt give them a payment plan. that is too funny because I have talked to a girl at windham professionals and she told me she was collecting for my defaulted school loan. and I was more than willing to make automatic payments to be taken from my bank account. so I thought all was worked out and the payments were being taken out and I kept getting other collection agencies for them saying that I wasnt making payments. it seemed every month I was going through this. I had to keep calling and explaining I had the withdrawl amount paper from my bank in front of me. I just recently (today) got a letter from the comm of mass telling me im in default and I explained that this happens every month and the man said that he doesnt know who I have been dealing with but this entire time iv been making payments towards my no interest loan that not one time did it show on there records. so I immediately called my bank and told them to cease all automatic withdrawls from them and ill be coming in to close and reopen another bank account. the lady I spoke with (at windam professionals) seemed so nice and professional one minute and the next she had to get off the phone asap. pretty much hanging up on me. things were extremely weird everytime I got a phone call or called, it seemed she had 2 personalities. but I havent ever been scammed like that and I didnt believe I could be and im on ssi/disabled and I cant afford to be paying people that I dont owe. im so upset with myself but how was I suppose to know.

Well I just got off the phone with mrs burns from this company about my sallie mae student loans, which this company claims to now own. this company even had the nerve to ask if I had any family with property to use as collateral. I decided to call sallie mae to check on my loans. well, guess what, get this, what a surprise, sallie mae still has my loans, which I might add I am in school and they are in forberance and are not even due. sallie mae is in no way, shape, or form affiliated with windham professionals. if you get a phone call from them, sallie mae told me to let you guys know to call them immediately as well as people with other lenders, contact your lending institution. tell them what's going on and they will immediately get you in contact with their fraud dept. also, they told me to contact the ftc (not fcc as I have seen in other comments) and your local police to file a complaint.

They've been calling me a lot. I explained to them already - I am currently jobless. That may or may not change soon. You can't obtain money from someone who doesn't have any. I'll pay the people I owe when I am able to do so. Harassing me just wastes my time and your company's.

Relatively simple stuff. Not for these particular professionals, though.

I was called at work (20 years after I have been out of college) and notified that I owed a student loan debt by Windham Professionals. I simply asked them to provide written notice of the validity of the debt ( a copy of the signed promissory note) and that I would be happy to pay it upon reviewing the document. I followed it up with a written request indicating the same. I never received anything and I have never heard from them again. By law, you must be provided with proof of a debt's validity upon request.

"File a complaint with your district attorney's office and request that your number be placed on the national Do Not Call list."
FYI, the "Do Not Call" list only applies to telemarketing, trying to SELL you something. Therefore debt collection companies do not apply. They are attempting to collect on money you were loaned and have since defaulted on. You OWE this money.
And people who want to use the economy as an excuse for not paying, hahaha. Why do you think the economy is horrible? Banks loaned money to people, who in turn basically decided that that money lent to them is not an important bill. "They charged me interest""They charged me late payment fees. So I'm not gonna pay anymore, because that's not fair."
Everything is based on profit, if it weren't everything would be cheap, but then how would anyone buy anything? Without profit nobody would even want to start a company.
If you get a 30 yr mortgage for $100, 000, do you think you're actually paying $100, 000 back? If so, suicide is your only option. You will most likely end up paying around around 250, 000-300, 000 back

It is sat dec 19th and I just hung up on a women who called me from this company regarding a supposed loan for 13, 499.86 which I again supposedly opened in 2006 with sallie mai. (I graduated in 2005 and all of my student loans which were in my name as well as my fathers were consolidated before I graduated) she is telling me that my father is not on this loan and that it is only me. she also can not give me a loan number and had to "track" me down by calling an old boss which I haven't worked for in over 3yrs. mind you I have had the same cell phone number since my senior yr in high school which was 2000. while talking to this women she told me that if I believed it was a scam then I could look them up online and she was calling from the henderson tennesse office. well, really funnny, when I look them up there is no henderson office. weird! also while I was talking to this women I nicely took all of her info while she kept on telling me she was just trying to help me out and just trying to do her job and in the middle of me speaking to her and verifying that everything that I wrote down was correct and that monday morning (seeing as thats when most businesses are open) I would call sallie mai and figure out this situation her boss comes on the line completely interupting me and starts talking. she said that she needs to verify that I will call back because the time that samantha smith has spent on the phone with me was too long with out any results! what! I told her that first off she was rude for interupting me and that second how dare her put a time limit expecially on someone who is being responsive to the info. what kind of company is this?

U are all #s - pay your bills and shut up - if you cant pay pick and the phone and tell them - but dont say u cant pay when you have a $500 monthly car payment - they will take your taxes, they will garnish you, if you cant come up with the money check your options - stop having your kids and family pick and the phone and say your dead (whos the losers then) - for all you people who complain about not having money but # on a collectors profession - at least they work a full time job - why is it that we call at 11 am and your still home - if you called someone who owed you money and they say well I cant pay - and you ask are you working - they say no - then you ask how long - they say 4 years - you say any reason why - they say cant find a job in this economy (4 years?) - mcdonalds, cvs, walmart, wendys, burger kings, collections (list of job that always hire-good luck) — also stop saying your getting an attorney - do you understand how dumb that sounds - you cant afford a monthly payment but you can afford an attorney ahhaahah clowns

Hey (not as dumb) how's the "hope and change"working for you, youre right about the fact that cheney and bush had failed pollicies which led us to "hope and change" which has destroyed the future on americans and you can bet there will be more people defaulting on loans because of the condition of the economy. this is brought about by people like you that are looking for a hand out from from government and when you get it you are now part of the obama private army which will keep the democrates in power, but it has been so progressive that your plan will surely backfire. as for (slypup), he is a low life like everyone else who works for or trys to defend a collection agency. I am sure that your father is embarrested about how you turned out to bet such a looser and has disowned you. you 're the one that needsyour # kicked, i'm sure that (slypup) can do it for you. if not I would love to make the trip and do it myself.

i would have to say this if you peolple at windham professionals can not seem to send the paper work on all the dept owed and the payment arrangements made. then what do you do all day? why am i takeing out another loan to statify you and when it comes down to it the real issue people get upset about is no matter what we pay the balnce never goes down and we are left paying and paying and paying. we are all having hard times including filling bankrupt losing our homes and still trying to feed our children. and i must agree if you was to ever be on the other side of the phone line then you will understand how it really feels to be in our shoes. i'm left now paying out more than i make a month due to you people. if i don't have money for gas to get to work each week then what not have a job all because you think we can afford a big sum of money as if it grows out our ears...

Actually, I have been paying off one of my student loans with them and they have been SUPER nice to me and my sister (who also is paying off her student loans). In fact I was trying to get a job that ran a credit check ... WP actually sent me a letter tp prove I had made all my payments in full and on time for the past year. Because of that letter I was able to get the job! They have never been rude and ALWAYS been very helpful and accomodating... actually of all the "debt collectors" I have calling me they are by far the most friendly!

Always put your disputes in writing. Debt collectors routinely break the law and the way to prevail against them is to put forth your proofs, i.e. written communications. Document all communications copiously. Note the date, time, name, address, and conversation. Follow-up by confirming the conversation in writing. Inundate them with written correspondence and make them work!

Visit www.lawrefs.com (a free site with no ads) under the debtor/creditor link to find out what collectors can and cannot do and how to prevail against them.

I have knocked about 8, 000 off my loans and now I am out of default and waiting for the loan to be transfered so I can defer them since I am a full time student. They have been courteous and polite and have helped me clean up some credit issues that I had no clue how to handle. They have also given me advice, support and encouragement to keep going with my plan of debt rehabilitation and my pursuit if an education.

Thanks WP for all the help!

I work for Windham and will agree with all of your comments. We are rude, crude and whatever other adjective you want to use. The fact is we are paid for a service and that service is to obtain the money owed to our client. Now you can liken us to mobsters or other evils in the world, but the fact remains that you owe this money and you have owed it for a LONG TIME. Imagine you owed money to a friend and you refused to pay that friend for few years or so. Do you think your friend would still be cordial? No way. At first he would ask nicely, then his kindness would slowly but surely sway to rudeness. These accounts are not DELINQUENT, they are DEFAULTED. They were delinquent years and years ago. So please stop with the sob stories about your hardships because I am sure you have received money here and there that you could have thrown at your debts, maybe this one in particular but chose to spend on meaningless materials. Or how about a tax return you got one year that you chose to spend on a coke and hooker binge (I know you are freaks out there), fact of the matter remains, YOU OWE THE DEBT! If you want puppies and flowers then pay your bills when they are days delinquent not years! Sleep tight and have a great night!

Windham unprofessional I hate this agency very rude and crude collection people. first off I want to say I do owe and is in default of my student loan which is about $5, 900. everyone has their reasons about why they are in debt and cannot pay their loans. my dad was diagnosed with cancer and he is in his final stage. he is now in a coma and the doc is telling me that he will not survive. my family is poor we live in the ghetto I am the first generation in my family to even go to college. obviously my family couldn't afford to pay for all of my tuition so that lead me into taking out a student loans.

Anyways I received a phone call from a girl name keira (very rude/crude) from windham she told me that if I didn't pay for my loans they would garnish my wages. I told her my situation and about how I have to pay for some of my dad's medical bills, I can only make small payments each month and if she didnt believe me I can send her proof of my bills and my hardship. she told me she didnt care about my dad's condition or my situation and that "this is an attempt to collect a debt" blah blah blah (how can you say that to a person whose father is in his death bed!) I cried when I heard her tell me that, so I just hung up on her.

The next day I received another call from windham, this time I didnt pick up because of how rude keira was. I was in no mood to argue with her I was already in a stressful situation esp. w/my dad in a coma these people had no sympathy for anyone. she left me a message saying that if I didnt pay they would either garnish my wages or take me to court.

I talked to my mom about the situation and she loan me about $500 so I called windham and ask to speak to another person besides keira. they transfer me to another person name michelle that sounded and was as rude as the first girl keira. so I made arrangements to pay $210 a month and michelle threathen that if I didnt pay by the 25th of every month she will garnish my wages. she kept repeating that which was just so annoying!

12mos went by everything was just fine. no harrassing calls from windham. then on my 13mos into the program I received a phone call from a girl name betty (she was nicer and sweeter than michelle/keira) she told me that windham was having a problem with my checking account that it kept coming up decline. so I called my bank to check my balance I had enough $ in my account. I called them back to tell them to run my card again. this time betty ask me if I can give her my card number again which I did. I ask her maybe someone might of did an error and one of the numbers might be different. I ask her if she could let me know my checking acct # on their file. she told me she couldnt access that information. so they ran my card everything was fine.

The next month they called me again and said the same thing they ran my card again everything went thru.in august I went out of the country to brazil for vacation. I was on vac for 1month which I was super excited and had so much fun. my cellphone was broken 2wks after my arrival in brazil. so I lost all of my contacts phone #'s and couldnt receive any calls.

When I got back to work I received a voice message from windham saying that there was a problem with my card again and that I am now out of the program because I didnt pay in august. to make a long story short they told me I had to make another $500 down payment and that my monthly would be even higher which is $340 monthly (increase by $130) wtf I was pissed. I feel like they are doing the whole thing on purpose. I told my boyfriend about the situation he told me to just consolidate with another company and that was what I did. my payment was much lower and they were nice and easy to deal with. windham unproffessional can kiss my #, i'm done putting up with their crap and disrespectful approach to people who are in tough situations. karma is a # and I hope they experience all of the hell they put people thru.

I happen to work with a company that uses Windham Professionals and guess what? Default fees can be up to 25% of your original loan balance and that will not show up on NSLDS. Because of people like you scamming the system and borrowing money that you will never pay back, this country's debt problem is worse and the economy gets worse, and because of your idiotic, stupid mistake the country is now in dire trouble.

They will garnish wages. If it is too hard to pay the bills now, imagine what it would be like with 15% off your wages.

Maybe you should get a refund on the money the original company loaned you because you are obviously TOO STUPID to have earned any sort of degree.

I got a call from these people saying that I owe Sallie Mae for my private student loans which I do agree to. I told them that I am in payment arragements with another collection agency for my Sallie Mae Federal Loans and that I could set up payment arrangements with them but couldn't afford to pay it in full. Mind you I only owe like $7, 000 in Private loans. They said that their company does not accept payments and that I have to pay in full or they will take me to court. I find this outragious because i have never heard of a collection agency not being able to take payments. They wanted me to go apply for loans just to pay them off and I told them I can't because i do not have good credit. Also, this company has had my file since Aug 2008 and didn't bother to contact me about the matter until July 2009. So I feel that they purposefully let my account collect interest for close to a year just to get more money from me. This company is a joke and should be reported fopr their practices.

First let me state that my loan was DELINQUENT. To improve my credit and get rid of all my bad debts I started to repay my creditors and collection agencies. In doing so, I was enrolled in the rehabilitation program with Windham Professionals and was told that once I made 9 consecutive (on time) payments, my loan would be sold to a servicer, a new payment arrangement would be made, and there would be a positive reflection on my credit.

I missed one payment and was told that I had to re-enroll into the program. Since it was my fault for missing a payment (no matter the reason), I re-enrolled into the program again. This is now my 13th month in the program and I was still being told that there is no servicer for my loan. I called Ed Fund and was told that there is indeed a servicer for my loan and it has been some time. Ed Fund assured me that they will take care of the misinformation since Windham Professionals is their contractor.

I feel much better now after talking with Ed Fund. However, after learning about their devious practices, I will retain a lawyer. It won't be that expensive as this person is a really close friend. Even if it did cost a bit, I don't think anyone should have to go through the lies and deceitfullness by collection agencies once they have committed to paying off their debts. For the affore mentioned reasons and the reasons below, I am posting these comments and seeking legal representation.

For the last 4 months, Windham has been giving me the runaround stating that it takes days for my paperwork to be processed. I was also told that even though there's a grace period, if I don't make my payment on the due date, I would not get a servicer. I kept telling them that I have a house payment and don't get paid weekly or even bi-weekly but I will make the payment during the grace period (which I did), however, they kept calling me all the time for their payment.

I never know what to say other than my profession pays well if you can produce, and given the money involved i'm not surprised that some collectors are EVIL, me personally i am a mediocre collector because i can't be this rude. the industry is built around trying to get money from people who are not usually as forthcoming w/ their payments and as such many of us get very aggressive, or perhaps they never learned the golden rule... whatever the reason i fully sympathize with this story, i have a bill collecter who acts very similar to this and am only answering the phone so they can dig the hole deeper, and my lawyer can bury them
