Whirlpool washing machine: charging in warranty period

I have purchased washing machine last year on 18 april 2010 with two year warranty today I register complaint with one of their executive that wash tub is not working they told me that if we find any pin or coin etc in the machine they will charge Rs.100/- with me due to mishandling of machine. But when i purchase the machine there is no such intimation and if we have any trouble during 2 years they have to provide the free of cost service. Even I ask them to give me the contact number of senior person so that I can talk them in this regard first they refuses to give me the number when I insist they told me that supervisor will call you back but around two hours ago no phone call received by them... Before this I have Kelvinator washing machine and during warranty no problem is creating by them as Whirlpool did I am very disappointed while knowing that why should we pay Rs.100/- for service it is also in the warranty period

Whirlpool Microwave

I purchased a Whirlpool microwave late 2008 and in early 2010 the unit began arcing into the door, burning a hole in the door and the unit. Whirlpool were recalling other models of their microwaves at the time for fire hazard, which obviously frightened me. After fighting with Whirlpool customer "service" for a couple weeks, they finally agreed to replace the microwave, which took some more weeks, in March 2010. Around January 24th this "new" microwave literally just stopped working. A code displayed on the unit telling me to call for service, which I did. Whirlpool arranged for a "higher level" tech to come out as we had already had problems with Whirlpool, and although WP did not follow through on sending me email confirmation AND gave the tech company my OLD phone number, they came out on Jan. 28th. The tech was here no more than 10 minutes total - and ordered an inverter and a magtube saying that it was usually either of these two out of three possible parts. He told me the parts could take 5-10 business days to come, but they were going to "ask Whirlpool to put a rush on it" seeing as this is the second WP microwave problem we have had. He also told me this was a tricky job, which caused me concern that the microwave only had 2 months left on the warranty. So, I contacted WP customer "service" to relay my concern that what if 3 months go by and I experience more issues but then the unit is out of warranty. The rep offered to extend the warranty by 6 months - better but I still forsee a problem. As I had not heard anything from anyone by Feb 16th, I contacted WP executive office and spoke to Yvette McCoy, who was very apologetic and took my details promising to look into what was going on and call me back. Today is Feb. 23rd and guess what ? Still nothing from WP, Yvette or the tech company. Yet again I have been without a microwave for a month and actually had to ask a friend to bring one with them for a party I had previously arranged ! This is absolutely unacceptable, and I think at this point I would like WP to refund the value of a new microwave so that I may purchase a different brand.

Good day I am totally disappointed with the After Sales service that I am receiving ;from your company based in South Africa. My Reference number is WJ 152835. I have paid for the washing machine parts on the 6th April 2017 to date my machine remains unrepaired, the "excuse" or explanation that I keep receiving is that the "PARTS" are being couriered from overseas or that the company is waiting for the shipment. Nobody keeps me in the loop until I call the customer service support Centre. I am frustrated as this is going far beyond time limit. The recent ;call ;suggested that the ETA of the part is 1st June...This is unacceptable for an international company as yourself. I have been very loyal as a customer I not only possess a washing machine but a fridge as well as tumble dryer. PLEASE ASSIST URGENTLY. Thank you kindly

I broke the glass tray that rotates inside my WM1107D00 Whirlpool Microwave. I cannot get anyone to tell me what the part number is so I can order a new one. I don't think I shuld have to buy a new oven. What is so hard about giving me a part number?

Whirlpool extended warranty

Got a meat drawer in the freezer thats to narrow and will not stay in the tracks.Lowes extended warranty will not cover it, they say its cosmetic.I know I waited to long to pursue this but a warranty is still a warranty even though it runs out in Aug, 2011.This drawer bin was either the wrong part installed at the manufactures end or it was switched at the store for another refridgerator missing one.i can't believe this is a cosmetic issue but a wrong bin put in my freezer.Lowes and their warranty company is trying to get out of fixing this.I think "cosmetic" is ambiguous to say the least. They use this as an excuse to keep from honoring a extended warranty. This bin was in my freezer on day (1).As I stated above I waited a while to file a repair claim but even if I had called for repair or replacement of the bin in question they still would have said it was cometic. This bin came with the freezer/refridgerator because it either was the wron bin size for this model or it was taken from a similar model at the Lowes store as Whirlpool has said may have happened at the store predelivery. All I want is a bin that fits. This bin is $76.00 on the Whirlpool web site.I think Lowes needs to do the correct thing and honor this extended warranty. Cosmetic should be removed from all warranty when it appears as a physical problemor technical.

Whirlpool front control panel

We bought new Whirlpool Gold, Quiet Partner III Dishwasher three years ago to upgrade from the cheaper model Whirlpool Dishwasher that was already in our home when we moved in. The older dishwasher worked fine, got the job done, but was quite noisy. So thinking that by upgrading to the Whirlpool Gold series, how could we go wrong? We bought our new Whirlpool Gold dishwasher along with a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator from Lowe's, and paid them to install the new appliances. Everything seemed fine, and the new dishwasher was quiet! We thought all was good. Fast forward a year and a service call to fix the icemaker on the fridge, which was not too much money, but hey, it all comes with a quality product. What really concerned us was the front control panel on the dishwasher cracked end to end and all the buttons came off, like snowflakes, one at a time! We take very good care of what we have, and nothing was abused. The service tech put on a new control panel. We thought all was well...now fast forward another year. The new control panel did the same thing. Cracked from end to end and the buttons popped off one at a time...nice! Another service call and another control panel. This time the gal that helped us at Lowe's did not charge us for the next panel...which was nice of her. That was this past July. Now skip ahead to December 24th 2010, and Whirlpool gave us a nice Christmas present, ...the new panel, installed in July 2010 was now cracking from end to end, like the first two, and two buttons have now fallen off. I guess it will be like the 12 days of Christmas and I will get one button a day to fall off as my "gift". I just called the Whirlpool hotline and explained my issues, along with my concern that another new control panel will most likely do the same as the last ones. I added that I had upgraded to the Gold Series, thinking better quality, and now with the service calls and parts still breaking, I have to draw the line in the sand instead of putting more money in defective workmanship. The gal at Whirlpool said they would not give us any new panel; we would have to pay for it, along with another service call. She said that perhaps the last techs didn't get to the right department when they were fixing the last panels. I told her that I have bought Whirlpool products for years and upgraded thinking it would be better quality and why would this be happening? I told her that I didn't want to go to another brand, unless I had to. Her response was that I should cut my losses and live with it or go buy something else. Nice. Well, I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product...I was loyal to them, especially that they have local manufacturing plants here, but I guess it doesn't matter if they don't care. I am curious if anyone else has these problems. I will end this with a praise for the "Goop" brand of glue in a tube, because that works if you wish to glue your buttons back on your Whirlpool dishwasher. That's what I have to do now until I save up enough cash to buy another brand of dishwasher! At that time, I will cart our Whirlpool dishwasher out to my local firing range and deeply enjoy blowing it to pieces!

Whirlpool refusal to honor warranty

I bought a Whirlpool Gold Cooktop model GLS3665RS01 in March 2010. In October it developed a problem with all five igniters continuously sparkling. The repair guys charged me $408.50 for all ignitors replacement but the Whirlpool refused to honor the 1 year warranty stating that the cooktop was "abused". I am a widowed man, living with an adult son, we barely cook at all. We don't use it enough and neither have enough skills to abuse it. While there was a trace of a spill inside of the coocktop the connectors themselves were dry without traces of the spill. I believe that
1. the spill is a normal occurrence during normal cooking--told that by all women cooks I know.
2. the spill was able to penetrate the sealed area because of the faulty design, gaps in the cooktop cover.
3. the position of the ignitors was poorly chosen, too accessible to any spills, slightly raised surface where ignitors are attached would protect them from a catastrophic spills, not just a tiny one
4. Whirlpool arbitrarily proclaimed this incident being an "abuse" of a product. This could be a manifestation of their general policy/behavior to shift the blame to a consumer.

Whirlpool whirlpool purafresh electric board damaged within 3 months

I brought a Whirlpool purafresh waterpurifier 3 months back and it's electric board is damaged. Now when I call the service center they r saying that We'll get back to you very soon. But it has been more than 15 days and when I called them today they are saying the part is not available and we don't know when it will come. Having spent more than 16K on the product, now I have to buy bisleri water from outside which is very expensive here. This too within the waranty period of 1 year I'm facing this kind of problem, guess what will be the situation after warranty period.
We should sue Whirlpool for such pathetic service.

Whirlpool no after sales service

I am staying in Shillong. I bought a Whirlpool washing machine "Whitemagic Pro 700H" from Guwahati in Feb 2010. It stopped working sometime in the month of Oct 2010. Since then I have contacted everyone, right upto the office of their VP Sales, but all I have given is assurances, apologies or just plain another number to contact. This too while my machine is in Warranty period. Also I have come to know that mine is not an isolated case but almost everyone in North - East is facing the same problem, because this self proclaimed World leader in home appliances is unable to shift its warehouse at Guwahati since last two months and has not bothered to make any alternate arrangements for its suffering customers. This is not just incompetence but also criminal breach of warranty conditions.

Whirlpool quality and service

After the stove model # wfe361lvq0 was delivered, I saw how cheap it was built. I paid $499 for the stove on 10/03/2010, and on 11/25/2010 a turkey fell on the stove and broke the glass top. their service said broken glass is not under warrenty, and told me it would cost $512.28 to fix! that is more than I paid for the stove. I want to warn people, the stove; quality wise, is only worth $100 in my opinion. and when the cheap glass top breaks, it will end up costing you over $1000.00, after purchase and repair.

a turkey is one thing, but pots and pans with water in them, grease splatter can make handles slippery, a stove is meant to be cooked on, not just looked at. if the turkey i had did that, a pot or pan can as they will not absorb part of the impact as a turkey will.

i agree it was my fault, i guess people dont mind spending way more than something is worth, and then having to pay full purcase price again to have just a part fixed? i should have researched more, but my intent was to warn people about the quality, as accidents happen.. i see you obviously dont mind buying 10 stoves, or spending $10, 000. i thought that some people may not have $1000 to spend, i guess, $10, 000 is just normal to spend..

Whirlpool refrigerator

my refrigerator died. I went and purchased a new whirpool refrigerator. NOW FOR THE SECOND TIME IN FOUR MONTHS I lost all my food!
This new refrigerator has a major problem. It seems strange the repairman came in with a part in hand, hmmm. Well after researching this, I found that whirlpool has a problem with control modules. They are made cheap and don't last. I mean come on three months, on a new fridge! The repair man came in changed the part left. I called to try to get reimbursed for the loss of food, because it has been less than four months since purchase. I got a call back from a sears rep and was told they don't cover food. HA! Well I can understand that but not when it is a new refrigerator less than four months old! Hopefully someone will read this that is in need of a refrigerator.

Purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator in June 2005. In the first year noticed a large crack in the bottom floor of the freezer. Whirlpool stated that they do not replace any refrigerator only repair them. In April 2009 we were told the compressor had failed but the repairman only said it was the timer. We lost a freezer full of meat. In july 2009 we lost another freezer full of meat as the compressor has totally failed. We are waiting for parts. Also the crack is opening up again from a very poor repair job done in 2006. We had a fridge for over 30 years and it never failed. Kitchen Aid has not been a good product for us and We will not purchase one again.

Kitchen Aid is one of the only companies that do not replace a refrigerator.

Iam Amit Bhandari from Bangalore. I bought a double door refrigerator bearing serial no. INA081806087. On 11th of october I booked a complaint regarding no cooling and foul smell inside the fridge. the complaint number is 05675. a person came the next day and said the compressor got choked up and needs to be refilled. I asked him to refill and he said that an engineer will come and do the job. That was the day and today is the day, till now no one has turned up and nobody in your service deptt cares to attend my problem. Your customer care gave numbers of Muniraj ([protected]), prasad ([protected]), Anil ([protected]), Peter ([protected]) pertaining to my area. I called everyone but to no avail. They said Mr. Shankar has been alloted to service the fridge and he will call me, but he didnt. Mr. Anil is so busy that he has no time to answer my call. I called all the above persons several times and now i feel that i was a fool to believe your customer care promises that my problem will be resolved soon. My fridge is under repair since one week and nobody in your service deptt really cares to tell what and where exactly the problem is. Now the latest is they are telling that the compressor itself needs to be changed and the compressor is out of stock. Please let me know what your service deptt are capable of. If your so called service engineers cannot attend to my problem PLEASE let me know. So I that i can arrange to repair it from other source. PLEASE DONT KEEP ME IN DARK by making fake promises and dont give irresponsible answers. Please let me know that can your service people attend to my problem or not.

This is the first time i called up your customer care and all what i can say is IAM NOT SATISFIED WITH YOUR SERVICE.

faulty product of whirlpool
I had bought a double door 410l fridge in the last week of march 2009, and from the very first day it is troubling my faily too much, it was not installed on the the day when I had bought it because it`s compressor was faulty only after replacing the compressor after two days it had started. My family said me to replace the fridge but I thought that now it will work properly and did not ask the dealer(my friend)to replace it.But I am facing with a very serious problem from the 10th day of its installation.Water is comming inside the fridge and destroying the things kept inside it.I am regularly complaining but no body is ready to listean, twice the person from the service centre visited and simply tightened or loosened the foots fitted in it and told that we have adjusted the level of the fridge and problem is solved, but till date it is same .Now I think that we have wasted money for it because of very poor response and faulty systems of company.I am going to take strict action against company and want to request the pepole of India to ignore the product of Whirlpool.I am writting this mail from Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala(Punjab) and in the service center in Kapurthala there are no engineers to rectify the problems of people. The person who repairs a bicycle in a private shop is better than the engineers of whirlpool in Kapurthala.

I purchased my Whirlpool refrigerator from Whirlpool guest system (on-line) in 2010 for around $1160. Recently, it stopped dispensing water from the dispensor. I called the Whirlpool certified A&E serviceman to repair the dispensor. He concluded that the water line is frozen inside the door. He also stated that such issues with the door shouldn't happen for at least 10 years. He gave me a bill of $920 to replace the door.
I called Whirlpool and they declined to pay for the repair as it is out of warranty.

I feel that they sold me a faulty refrigerator, and they should pay for this expensive repair. With $920, I can probably pay for a new refrigerator. I am completely disappointed by Whirlpool's customer service, and poor quality of their product. This company, I believe, is more interested in selling crapy products, make profit, and not provide good customer service. Shame on you!

Whirlpool poor quality, customer service

Purchased Whirlpool Duet dryer in August 2010. Its October and the motor is bad. This is a piece of crap dont buy a duet system. The only repair service Whirlpool uses is A&E appliance repair. They are owned by Sears and only schedule in blocks of 8-12 or 12 to 5. Had appt scheduled three times but technician couldnt make it. Whirlpool needs to rethink their appliances and build them right the first time so A&E horrible customer service wont be a blight on their company.

2007 - X-Mas..I bought a Duet washer and dryer for around $1, 950 less rebates...2008 - The washer motor died and it was replaced under warranty...2009 - A good year because nothing broke...2010 - The Dryer's inlet thermister and heater went out. I fixed it and they paid 1/2 of parts...2011 - It's April and the Dry...er's control electronics went out. The dryer is currently dead.
I emailed and called in on 4/18 and 4/20 for help again - No reply. Third call and 15 min later...Keanna answered...I told her my history of issues...I asked for Whirlpool to pay to fix my dryer this time...I was assured they could not do anything to help me...I asked for a supervisor...Lisa comes on and assures me they could do nothing to help and that there was nobody else I could speak to. Whatever happened to quality and standing behind your product? I thought I was paying for it when I bought these. Whirlpool, make this right. I'll post the results of how you handle this.

Dear Karson,

Please accept my apology for responding so late to your post here as I just located it. I'm so sorry your Whirlpool dryer has failed and has caused you frustration and inconvenience. I know being without a dryer is difficult enough, but the no call/no shows by A&E has only made this situation worse I'm sure. I'm Scott with A&E Solutions; we'd like to help. At your convenience please contact our office at AEservice@aefactoryservice.com so we can further discuss your concerns. In the email please provide us with a contact number and the phone number the dryer is listed under and we will contact you directly. In addition please include your screen name (Karson) in your email so we can reference to your posting.

Thank you,

I posted a complaint earlier about our Whirlpool microwave catching on fire while cooking popcorn. I forgot to attach the picture... so here it is. It's a good thing that our 11 year old son wasn't using the microwave to cook popcorn after coming home from school because he would have panicked and the house would have burned down. Our model was a built-in with trim kit, etc. We had to unscrew everything before we could take it out to the garage.

We contacted Whirlpool and they sent out a local factory trained technician to investigate. He says that the magnetron was faulty. That was a couple of days ago. Still haven't heard back from Whirlpool. So... I'm researching on the internet to find others who have had this unbelievably exciting experience.

Oh, by the way, the microwave was set on the "sensor cook" mode for popcorn. It works really well... usually... or, until it catches on fire.

Tonight I put a potato in my whirlpool microwave, put it on the potato setting and it started sensing so I walked away to go outside to water plants. I heard my smoke detector going off so I rushed in the house only to come back to my house filled with smoke. Opened the microwave and the plastic light cover had caught on fire and my potato was fried. I’m calling whirlpool tomorrow. So glad I have good smoke detectors! Very scary! P.S. my microwave/ hood range combo is only 9 months old!

This same thing just happened to me...I threw a bag of popcorn in the microwave on the popcorn setting. I went to grab something out of another room and I came back for the entire bag to be on fire. Not only that but it took 3 cups of water to put the tiny little bag out! Being super curious, I looked in the bag and it didn't even pop the popcorn it just caught it on fire. It also burnt most of the interior of it too. The worst part is I bought the microwave 2 months ago! Hopefully whirlpool will get the memo...

We bought a group of Whirlpool appliances to go in my 78 year old mothers kitchen in our lower level. She put a potato in on the potato setting. Came back 3 minutes later to the smell of smoke and thought I had burned something cooking upstairs. She opened the door of her microwave and smoke billowed out. Her potato was totally burned and when she put it in the sink a piece came off and had a flame on it. I asked her how LONG she cooked it for, did she have metal in there, etc. and the answer was no--just the potato. I called and Whirlpool and they acted like they had NEVER heard of such a thing happening before. I thought my mother must have done something and she wasn't telling us. While on hold I googled "potato caught on fire in Whirlpool microwave" and found all your posts--thank you all for posting. When another lady came back on the line she said, "So you THINK a potato may have burned?" I said, "I have no doubt it went up in flames...it's charred all the way through." I told her what I had discovered online and she said it's common for this to happen with potatoes and other vegetables. Really? I'm 51 and have NEVER had anything ever even BURN in a microwave. They are sending a repair person today to see if it will be replaced or fixed. The inside of the microwave is scorched and it went completely dead. I bought the 5 yr extended warranty with Home Depot but I am very uncomfortable with this microwave now. Even if they replace it I won't trust it -- especially with an almost 80 year old mother downstairs. I fear the house will burn down now. I switched to Whirlpool because they are made in the USA and I'm very disappointed. (I tried to attach a photo and I won't load it)

My Whirlpool Microwave Model GH7208XRQ-2 has had several near-fires that smoked up the whole kitchen due to changing the cook time by itself. I tell it 2 minutes (2+0+0) and it gives itself 2 hours and 40 minutes. I give it 50 seconds and it changes itself to 8 minutes. Luckily you can smell it before a big fire starts. Also, the front door is cracked in two places and several pieces have broken off. It's only 5 years old. I called Whirlpool 3 years ago to report the problem and they blew me off. They said it was my microwave and my problem.

Whirlpool microwave / exhaust combo caught on fire! Set 8 minutes for baked potato and left to work outside a bit. Returned 20 minutes later, microwave still going and flames
Are coming out! Melted the inside, plate in pieces, totally destroyed and w have burned my home down! Whirlpool told me it was out of warranty so there are coming to look, but
Don't even plan to replace! Last year my whirlpool stovetop exploded! Into a million pieces of glass! From boiling some water! Yeah! Nice to know you pay top money for these and they can kill you!

Whirlpool dissatisfied service by dealer

Dear Sir / Madam,

This has reference to our complaint logged for our Whirlpool Refrigerator in your call center no. [protected] on 10.10.2010 against complaint no. DL1010007004 for Light Bulb in Fridge.

We been told that Engineer service charges are Rs. 220 per visit when complaint logged.

Complaint then was been forwarded to your Authorized service provider -

Mr.Anuj Arora
Gemini Home Appliances,
146B/12, Gurunanak Pura,
Near LaxmiNagar (East Delhi)
New Delhi
Ph. Nos. [protected] / [protected]

On 10.10.2010 Mr.Sumit visited our home (2335, Street No.12, Kailashnagar, Delhi-110031) and though our complaint was for only light bulb he has opened our Freezer section and told Fridge is not cooling and there is Gas leakage problem and demanded Rs. 1100 as advance payment though we told that we will give cash after job completion.

He told that there is problem in our Bulb holder and the whirlpool parts are not available anywhere in delhi and not available in dealer's stock. It has to come from Pune and due to CWG no material is coming and so on...

Still we requested him to arrange bulb holder on the next day.

Then engineer demanded Rs. 276 for his visit though the call center has confirmed us Rs. 220 before sending him to our site. He took Rs.1376/- as advance on 10.10.2010 and committed that next day the job will be done. However, Fridge was cooling properly we immediately called him and informed that there is not necessity of gas filling you please refund us our money. He accepted and told we will refund the money on 12.10.2010 and he never turned up.

Again i have escalated complaint in your call center on 16.10.2010 and call center executive said my senior will get back to you on 16.10.2010 and regret to say but nobody has turned up till date.

When we are following up with Mr.Anuj Arora for our payment refund he has not attended calls and then used very abusive language and said we have already generated invoice and [protected]@12.5% will be deducted from your money for gas filling and even i was talking to him he has disconnected call twice.

No invoice can be generated without completion of job and deposition of the tax takes place once in a month to Govt. To my understanding Gas filling charges attracts service tax and not VAT.

He himself and his team Ms.Parveen, Mr. Sumit are harassing us and not closed our complaint which is logged on 10.10.2010 till date and even not refunding us. Ms.Parveen says forcefully if we are ready to fill the gas then only her engineers will change bulb holder

Overall performance of M/s Gemini Home Appliances, Delhi is not satisfactory and non convincing with us at all. If there are no improvement in his behavior we are bound to take legal actions.

We would like to request you to understand our limitations and initiate necessary actions immediately from your end to close our complaint and refund us our Rs. 1100 by today at any cost.

I think Whirlpool India being MNC will believe in business Ethics, Integrity, core values and customer satisfaction on TOP priority So, again requesting you to take necessary action against this complaint and revert back to us on urgent basis.

Regards,

Whirlpool 2006 refrigerator

In July of 2006 I made the mistake of purchasing a houseful of whirlpool appliances from Lowes. The Cabrio washer (cost $900) stopped working a month ago (Sept 2010) - repair cost $600.
The side by side refrigerator stopped working yesterday, appears to be the compressor, a major repair on a part (compressor) that most reputable manufacturers warrant for five (5) years, not these guys. I am replacing both appliances after receiving no satisfaction from either Lowes or Kitchenaid (Whirlpool's parent hold company). It appears that both Lowes and this manufacturer are more interested in service and repair residual income on the poorly manufactured merchandise than on sales, I am telling everyone one I know and don't know (through this outlet) to stay clear of both businesses and their products. So, DON'T BUY WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES, DON'T BUT KITCHEN AID PRODUCTS, DON'T PURCHASE FROM LOWES HOME STORE - MERCHANDISE IS SHODDY, SERVICE IS NON-EXISTENT.

Whirlpool turntable

I called whirlpool company to order a turntable for a microwave that is approximately 5 years old... (the round roller at the end cracked and broke... I was informed that I would have to purchase the entire turn table .. that was acceptable...but... when I heard the price $39.00 plus the shipping which would be about a total of $45.00 to $48.00 that was totally unacceptable... Golly you can go and buy another microwave for that price... and you can be sure that this microwave part was made in CHINA!... Enough of this ballony...My son is working on the round roller as I write... and WHIRLPOOL YOU CAN BE SURE I WILL NEVER AGAIN PURCHASE ANOTHER WHILRPOOL PRODUCT AND I WILL INFOR ANY ONE AND EVERYONE THAT WILL LISTEN... I will post notices up whereever there is a bulleton board, be it church, workplace, hardware stores and to anyone that will listen to my story... People are getting sick and tired of purchasing products that are madein CHINA and as a replacement part is needed you soak the living hell out of them... GoodBye WHIRLPOOL...

Whirlpool amc

Dear Sir,

I have purchased fridge from M/s Sumaria, Mumbai vide invoice no CH/OCT03/0149 dated 05/10/2003. The model is 450 litre IceMagic FF.

Subsequently I had purchased AMC for period 14.02.2005 to 09.10.2010. The mechanics has visited only to attend breakdown maintenance, however no preventive maintenance was carried out as mentioned in AMC.

The purpose of AMC is not only to attend to breakdown maintenance but also to carry out routine preventive maintenance /checks, which did not happen in last 5 years.

Since AMC is expiring, I wanted to extend it for a further period, which I was informed is not possible.

I would like to know:

a. Is there is any provision to extend AMC further? Whom should we contact for further renewal

b. who will be responsible for breakdown in vital parts due to no preventive checks/maintenance carried out?

I shall be grateful if you can resolve/address the above two issues on priority and inform.

Regards

Vijay R Kharche

Whirlpool three appliances 3 years old many service calls microwave hood dead

I purchased three products from Whirlpool all were the Whirlpool Gold series. The stove and microwave convection hood were purchased on June 17, 2007 and the Refrigerator was purchased the same year in July. After three months the Microwave stopped working and they were kind enough to replace it. Here we are three years later and the warranties expired and so we decided to purchase an extended warranty as we had many mailings from Whirlpool to do so. I purchased one for the microwave on September 14th 2010 and today two days later the microwave again has completely shut itself down. So My husband decided we should just cancel the extended warranty as it doesn't begin for 60 days and purchase a model from another company without the control buttons on the door face. We called to cancel the policy and they told us that we have to submit our cancellation in writing to a place called Federal Warranty Corporation, P. O. Box 175689 Atlanta, Georgia [protected] What? It said Whirlpool on the letter head with a whirlpool e-mail address but this is a company completely separate from Whirlpool? It does not state on the extended warranty mailing I received that if you decide to cancel you need to submit the cancellation in writing. So I called the Whirpool Executive Office in Benton Harbor, Michigan to see if anything could be done to hurry my refund. They claim to have no connection at all to the company selling the service contracts. Why then do they have the Whirlpool name on the letter head and a Whirlpool e-mail which takes you directly to a Whirlpool site?

I have posted some of this info Facebook so I can find out if anyone else has had trouble with this product and company
