It all began in January when we suspected Western Dental of insurance fraud, so we went to talk to the manager and have her explain why they were billing my insurance (Delta dental) almost twice as much as my services cost. My husband and I had been patients there for a month and gotten a few cavities filled, cleaning, extraction and X rays.
They basically billed my insurance so much money for these services that they practically capped out our yearly insurance allowance.
These were fees for; CLEANING, 6 Fill ins, one extraction and X rays for my husband and I. We called the corporate 1800 number to ask management about the billing, so they told us to go to the Broadway Office in Tucson to talk to the Office manager. So we did and this took place sometime in February.
When we arrived and spoke to the office manager, she seemed very overwhelmed with her day so when we asked for answers about the billing she was very vague and shady with all her answers. Everything was so confusing I finally just wanted copies of everything on file. She then got extremely frustrated and refused to give us copies of our documents. The office manager asked us to leave and since we didn't have our documents we needed to stay. Since we didn't leave right away she ran off and called the cops making a big scene and yelling at us to leave in front of the staff and patients.
I left the property and called the regional manager to discuss the matter and that is when she said she was going to call the office manager and start the investigation. She promised to mail my documents and call us the following day; Its been 6 months and still have not heard from her.
I recently got a new dentist and need oral surgery, which has caused me to need these documents from western dental. These are documents that I already paid for with my insurance.
So on 6/16/09, I had to call the 1800 customer service number to see how I could finally obtain my documents and avoid calling the local office where the incident happened. Customer service instructed me I had no choice but to call the local office to get copies of the originals. I hesitated but IM in need of these documents because of health reasons, so I called and they told me to come in and pay a $25 fee and I can have the files. When I show up the next day(6/17/09), the front office assistant had X rays in hand and ready to give them to me, when the manager that had called the police on me previously saw me and denied me my personal documents, she then ran in her back office to call the police on me again. While she’s calling the police shes yelling at me and the front office assistant to go ahead and take my $25 payment and she will mail my documents to me and to get out. She then told another male employee to kick me out, so this male employee got inches from my face (Grecia Brenner) and told me he would physically remove me. I was fearful for my being and since there were several patients waiting in the waiting room I stood there and felt a little safer with my arms crossed and told the male employee to go ahead and touch me, I already knew in the back of my head that the police were on their way and that's when I stepped outside to wait on the police. The police then came and took everyone's statements. I had one witness on my side saying that I was polite asking for my files and that they denied it and made me leave. All the other “witnesses”, all Western dental employees, of course took managers side.
These statements gave the police officer no choice but to cite me for disorderly conduct.
I was so embarrassed and extremely upset that Western Dental would do this to me for only wanting documents that I still don't have after trying for 6 months. It seems as they are trying to cover something up.
IM in need of desperate help and I would appreciate it if someone could help out, because I still don't have the copies of all my records and NOW I have a criminal citation.
This has been really inconvenient and will cost me work time and pay, as well as attorney fees. I had no other choice but to go to Western Dental Broadway office to get my documents. Out of all the places in Tucson, they are the only ones to have my files.

The regional manager/corporate gave my husband and I the run around... Promising a phone call, an investigation, and to mail the documents I needed (x-rays and all billing documents). Also they have called the police on my husband and me twice because they are refusing to give us any documents. It’s been 6 months and I still have no records or X-rays. They continue to harass us with many phone calls, asking for payments since my insurance cut them off. We have told them every time they call to stop calling because of the “INVESTIGATION” that was supposable going on, but when we go in person they refuse to attend us and call the police.
My insurance is investigating their billing department and have yet to contact us, so we are still waiting on Delta Dental.
I have had severe pain caused by my impacted wisdom teeth that need to be removed immediately, but Western Dental has made that impossible for me to take care of since they are denying my records to us and my insurance is capped out with all their fees.
The total fees charged to my insurance are $2, 901.00. I have copies of my explanation of benefits as well as contracts with Western Dental with all these amounts. I also have made 2 payments of $100 to Western Dental. My husband and I have taken time off work and lives to deal with this matter at Western Dental. I have also received a citation for a criminal charge because of this company and their negligent way of operating a medical business. My impacted teeth need to be removed as soon as possible and it’s been hard to do that for the past 6 months since I can’t get records of my mouth and I can’t afford to pay my new dentist the fees to get new records and x- rays all over again.
My husband and I are good citizens who stay out of trouble. We recently moved to Tucson with our 6 year old son to start a new job and life.
These current events are horrible and unjustified and we believe it’s time to get justice.
Please someone recommend something I can do!
Thank you shesharp... I seem to have a weirdo stalker(Nutsoup) I hope your issues have been resolved with WD, because mine never did. I contacted BBB as well- At this point Im puzzled as to why they are still n business.

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
They're trying to charge me 13000 out of pocket for dental implants they never finished... i'm essentially teething again on implants growing through my gums. I have no teeth and I'm only 34 years old. I have a 2 yr old at home and i can't luce this way. We stopped the auto pay after being hung up on twice after getting through on the emergency line...
I am going through a battle with them as well and am blown away by the lies and covering up. My case is too complex to type out right now but we all need to get together and file a class-action lawsuit. This is BS and they need to be stopped. Ive had dentures since I was 18 and went to WD for a new set Feb. 2017. They bruised my face and left me sore for weeks. The dentures were not aligned correctly resulting in severe migraines, mouth sores, slurred speech, and frequent gagging. I couldn't eat and never smiled anymore. I attempted to go back and have them fixed but they insisted there was nothing they could do. I showed up one day for as a urgent appointment and the dentist refused to see me. The front receptionist said my only option was to wait a year for my realign. I had no other option so I waited. I went in for my realign and the dentist said I would have to leave my teeth for a week so they could send them out. I was in so much pain I left my teeth. I lost all my dignity and entire week of work. I went back to pick up my teeth and they never sent them out. Nothing had been done. The office manager had no explanation just papers for me to sign. She pressured me into getting their over dentures and quoted me $9, ooo. I agreed and signed paperwork. The next day I went in for the placement of screws in my jaw my and after giving me the first round of sedation the office manager burst in the room and shoved new paperwork for me to sign. Apparently now it would cost $14000. The procedure was horrific, ( I accidently left my phone on and i recorded most of my recovery) I didn't have a ride so they wheeled me outside to the front and I had to walk home with blood all over my face, disoriented, and in tremendous pain. I requested multiple times for a copy if my contract and they refused. I was billed 2 weeks later by care credit and western dental. They have harassed me non stop. I attempted to make the follow up appointment for the actual attachment of the overdenture ( They were going to drill holes and attach the pair that didn't fit in the first place, they didn't tell me that when I was bullied into signing) I was scammed by their bait and switch tactics, unethical and negligent patient care, and harassment. I need help.

Omg, I am going through this right now .I was so happy even talking on the phone paying my last payment on my daughter's braces, now there saying that there was a glitch Glitch and someone made a mistake on how much I owed but I had the same date I was done, now they want more .I really don't understand but it's something like delta insurance only paid 900 but at the beginning Brident /western dental, Wait I don't know how to explain I just know it's wrong.Austin tx, anyone who can help please, iam confused.
I had an implant put in. When it was put in it didn't reach my gum line and now it has fallen out. They started calling me to make monthly payments. I paid for the services when rendered. I told them that. No problem they took my money. I don't owe them anything. Now they are charging me late fees. I need a front tooth. It's embarrassing to go out in public this way. So I'm hiding at home.
And they physically attacked me too.
Welcome to the wd scam! dont let them fool you out of ur legal time to sue. Thats what they try to do. Among many other things. Get an attorney! Yes! Its worth it! Im guessing the work you had done is done very very wrong. Careful of there affiliate partners in crime. Go to another dentist. One you can trust or referred by an attorney. Yes! They will have topay you. Yes! They are in insurance fraud! get an attorney asap! Next time you go to western dental, bring an officer with you. These so called dentists are skilled in martial arts. I just read the comments by the people doing background checks on the writer. Nobody cares. We all know western dental is a scam. Its obvious ur in with them. Yes! Western dental employees pull the same tactics on everyone the same malicious way. Its part of the scam. Terrorism tactics. Next time maybe the western dental staff won't get so lucky.
Well nutsoup, this is not the first time that this has happened. This is how Western Dental works. I know from experience. My name is all over the web. I don't care how old this post is. If you are having ANY PROBLEMS with Western Dental, please contact me. I am just another victim of this Corporations nasty business practices. Difference is, I am standing up and I will never GIVE UP!
Western Dental's Corporate Offices WILL NOT HELP YOU. However, make sure that you file a grievance with the Corporate office just the same. I recommend that you file your complaint using the link that they have on their site. This will provide you with electronic PROOF that you filed a complaint. Also note that you can file via a phone call but you must be very specific to state that you want to file a complaint with the grievance department. Get the name of the person you speak with and take great notes about the conversation. BE SPECIFIC. if you fail to file a formal complaint within 6 months, the authorities will not be able to step in and help.

I"m having problems with Western Dental as well with billing and service and I don't know how to fight them on this situation. I'm reading all these complaints and wondering why are they still in business? Can't someone do something or start a lawsuit against them?

This 'hateswesterndental' poster can't be very bright with a history likes hers. She puts her own name right out there on the web for anyone to verify her story and what comes back from public records definately does not do that! I read all the nonsense on that apartment ratings site too and she did the same thing. She put her name under like 5 different user names on the same day and her phone number and email addresses to. But then most criminals are not that smart!
WatchfulEye, you are correct. She is "one of those people". Go to gwinnettcourts.com to see multiple warrants and arrests for battery and more, along with filings against other corporations. She states above that "My husband and I are good citizens who stay out of trouble." This appears to be a false statement of fact. Regarding the above account of the matter at Western Dental, a small fact was omitted. There were video cameras recording her actions. I believe that was the validation for her criminal charge, not dishonest accounts by employees. I see HSL Properties mentioned on the apartment ratings website mentioned in previous comment. If it is true that she is going there, they would be wise to do their homework on this one.
The above, Grecia Brenner, has a history of doing this to other companies. Go to Apartmentratings.com to see another of her systematic campaigns of harassment and false defamation currently underway and see what she is doing to Columbus Village Apartments, Tucson where she has been living and was previously employed. Criminal harassment complaints have been made against her and multiple civil suits are being filed. Legal counsel for the affected companies are able to share all information regarding criminal and civil crimes committed against all of them by this individual. I can only imagine the massive judgement that she and her husband will bear in the end, but as far as this author is concerned, it could not be enough.
They are probably billing your insurance company under UCR fees. This is a common practice by all dental providers. UCR is like the MSRP of dentistry and is used as a common fee for everyone in health care. You should look into the actual services billed under the ADA codes and see if they match to what was completed during your visits. Hope this helps.
On another note, either that office manager over reacted to you or there is more than one side to this story... I think you might be one of those people though. Just a guess.
