Village Inn Restaurants complaints 180
My wife and I went to the Village Ill in Fort Collins Co. on August 12th 2016 for the all you can eat fish dinner. First it took 15 min. to get a server. By the way, the restaurant only had about 6 customers. After we ordered our fish it took 25 min to get our food. When it came all there was, was batter. NO FISH. I asked about this and they said they ran...Read full review
Village Inn Restaurants - service received at store #110170
I usually got to store 110170 located at 4775 Kipling street on the weekends. I enjoy the quick service and the good food. This visit was not any different. The one thing I feel I need to bring to your attention is related to safe food handleing. Our server Aryssa who waited on us on July 10, 2016 at approximately 11 am had very long nails. Her nails were touching my eggs and saw her serve the table next to me while her nails were in the green chili. Working in the food business for many years, I was always helps to specific standards to maintain safe food handleing and healthy appeal. The young lady's nails are approximately two inches long and it truly look gross when she is serving you the food you ordered while her nails are deep in your food. I truly hope you bring this issue to her and to her management's attention.
Village Inn Restaurants - entire dining experience was shameful
Wednesday, July 6, 2016 I took my parents to the Village Inn on McKellips Road in Mesa, AZ. We arrived there 11:50 am and were seated by the cashier/hostess. When she laid our menus down she said "Ashley will be with you as soon as she can she is busy" We had no idea it was going to be almost 20 minutes before she would come to our table, and that was only to get our drink order. Then another delay in her bringing the drinks: 2 ice tea's. She then said she needed to take an order from another table "They have been here for awhile". My dad took his glass of tea and took a taste, I could see it was VERY pale. "This tastes like water. No flavor" he said. When Ashley finally came back to our table she took our order and I told her about the tea. "I saw the tea was low so I added to it" "I could make a new batch. Do you want me to bring another glass" YES and we placed our order, assuming our meals would come out in a timely manner. WRONG! We again waited. Finally someone else carried out the meals. She noticed immediately that there was an error on my dad's meal. He asked for over medium and got scrambled. That waitress offered to take care of it, but Ashley came over and said there was no error. Guess what! the other waitress showed her the ticket clearly showing over medium. Our food was not hot but by that time, almost 50 minutes, we needed to eat. The pancakes that came with the 2x2x2 were over cooked or had been under the heat lamp too long and could not be cut properly, even with a knife. We then asked for a cup of coffee, the 2nd glass of tea was not much better, tasteless. Finished eating and were waiting AGAIN when a person(man) came to the area where we were sitting and chatted as he seemed to clean a table. "Sorry about the wait there was a problem with the staff." He mumbled something about not getting along and walked away. Ashley got our pie order, to go, and disappeared AGAIN. I finally got up and went to the wait staff entry. There were lots of them in there. A dark skinned waiter asked if he could help. Asked for a to go box and told him we had been waiting for our pies and check. He immediately acted and soon Ashley came to the table. As she gave us the check she said "OH I didn't charge you for the coffee" You think you should charge after both ice tea's were NOT drinkable. It did not stop there. Went to pay for the meals and the Cashier, same one that seated us, asked how everything was. My mom responded "We have been here since 11:50 and now it is almost 1:20" Cashier response "Well that's the way it is on free pie Wednesday" WOW! I asked for business card to contact the Corporate office and was told " We don't have any. Just go on line".
Desirable resolution: Train the staff, try getting more qualified team members that understand what good customer service is and how it effects customers returning. Send a Gift card for my parents to use at a different Village Inn. The meals and tip were just under $49.00 for the 3 meals. They address is: M/M J Connelly, 6910 E Halifax Drive, Mesa, AZ 85207. My phone number: 928-533-8116, my name is Patricia.
On 5/28/2016 As my wife and I arrived at the Village Inn in Pace, Florida, around 7:30 a.m. on May 28, we observed a young man having a slightly heated discussion with a woman we guessed by her manner of dress to be the restaurant manager. it was impossible to avoid hearing him accusing her of not keeping the books in the manner he had told her to and her...Read full review
Village Inn Restaurants - pre order pie
I went on line and order a Coconut Cream pie for my Grandson's 16th birthday and was to pick it up he day of His Big Day, guess what? They did not have my order from on line and had to scramble to see if they had one in freezer for me. Well thank goodness they did. I forgot my confirmation that I printed out at home and So when I got home I called to let them know I had it and I had the right location. The lady on the phone told me that i should maybe call because it is after the holidays and the online probably were not looked at since, I guess after the holidays, there are no Special Events. (well how about Birthdays, Anniversary, etc.) Very disappointed, you should never have to call, because in my food business, we call the customer to confirm their orders. Terrible! i WILL NOT ORDER FROM VILLAGE INN AGAIN! This happened on Jan 4, 2016
On Dec. 1st, 2015, my wife and I decided to have lunch at the Village Inn restaurant located at 215 North Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa, Florida and will never go there again. After waiting for a long period on time, our order finally arrived, and after eating for about 5 minutes, the cleaning lady decided to vacuum on both sides of our table. Very loud and...Read full review
Village Inn Restaurants - cold food. crap customer service.
Don't eat at the Village inn in South Des Monies IA. The dishes aren't clean. The food comes to you cold. The sever forgot our drinks. She went to get them but never came back with them. The side order of broccoli was brown. Also when she comes out with our food she informs us that they was out of dinner rolls. And said they had to make more. (Right) We tried to eat the food. But have you ever tried to eat cold gravy it's gross. When we go to pay the lady asked how it was. I was thinking good someone that cares about there customers . I told her it was bad. She wanted to know what was wrong, and where we was sat. We showed her. She became snotty you don't have to pay. JUST LEAVE. Instead of feeling great when leaving this restaurant we was frustrated about what had just happened . We would of rather of gotten good food and good service and paid for it. Never will we ever eat there again.
It is September 5, 2015 and I just got home from one of the worst experiences I have ever had at my regular Village Inn. We asked for a table, got put in a booth(in an empty restaurant), and when our waitress showed up to get our drink order, she never once looked at us or smiled. When she came back, we told her we were not ready just yet to order our...Read full review
Village Inn Restaurants - health
Went to Village Inn today for my free piece of pie. I was seated and no one came over to take my order. The waitress finally went to some older folks across from me and I heard them tell her I had been waiting for a while. She came over, asked what I wanted. I asked if they had sugar free pie (I am diabetic) and she said yes apple. I said I would have that, coffee and water. I waited a few minutes and she brought my coffee and water. Waited and waited and finally got my pie. I took a few bites from it and started to look at the top of the pie. It had sugar crystals on it. Waitress finally came over after about 8 minutes and I asked her if it was sugar free. She said no do you want the other pie? Really. I specifically asked for sugar free. When I got home my sugar was about 300. NOT GOOD. That is a very dangerous mistake.

Village Inn Restaurants - idiots
I consider myself to be pretty level- headed and not quick to jump the gun, however the Village Inn on Ken- Caryl and c470 has horrible service and I swear some, not all, of the staff are crack heads. This is the third occasion where my order has been royally messed up to the point where they brought me the completely wrong meal altogether. Furthermore, never has a waitress offered my compensation in the form of a refund for totally messing up my order and having me wait close to twenty minutes extra while my company eats their meal. Additionally, the waitress seemed to feel like some if this was my fault and her attitude complimented that feeling. I'm not going to lie, I come here quite often and can't help but notice the behavior of the evening staff. Frequent trips to the bathroom and sporadic behavior and conversation has lead me and others to believe a few if the staff are definitely on something. All In all, I don't usually do this but I believe in good service, and I hold myself to the same standards. Some of the staff here are unprofessional and rude and I don't recommend this location. I certainly know that the is my last visit

Village Inn Restaurants - manager appeared intoxicated
Usually I absolutely adore going to this cute little diner and I have never, ever experienced anything like this at this resturant or at any other resturant but tonight, things were running a little slow, which is unusual, at least in my past experiences. Anyway, I called my waitress over and asked how long she thought it would be until my party and I recieved our food. In a sarcastic tone she snapped back "let me go check" while letting out a HUGE sigh. Being offended I asked to speak to her manager. Next thing I knew, I had this "kid" who was easily half my age and who absolutely wreaked of beer/alcohol stumble over to me to ask what was the problem. Thank goodness he was not the aggressive drunk type or else I dont know what could've happened. He should not have been at work and he sure as heck shouldn't be in a management position. Village Inn lost a LONG TIME CUSTOMER tonight.

My wife tells me she went down to Village Inn June 8 2012 to order a Cobb Salad to go and the manager there asks: "Would you like some pie?", she says no, and he asks (according to my wife) "are you sure?" Now this makes her angry and I already got on this store for doing that. Then on her way out he says "we'll see you on Wednesday for free pie". Village...Read full review
In the last three visits to this restaurant I have been disappointed by lackluster preparation of food, missing ingrediants, undercooked, and small portion size. The staff seems from High School and the manager moves furniture by using his feet to kick high chairs to the side to appropriate space. The same items found on identicale menu's can be found...Read full review
Village Inn Restaurants - botched eggs benedict twice
I have seen over the past few years a decline in Village Inn Customer service and food quality, in the late 70s a friend turned me on to Eggs Benedict and the only place that made it good was Village Inn it was one of their signature dishes. A new restaurant opened up in Altoona so we went there at first the service and food was good but in the last year it has gone down hill. Six months ago I ordered Eggs Benedict and I told the server make sure the eggs are poached soft the way they're supposed to be but when they arrived they were hard as rocks so I sent them back again saying that the eggs needed to be soft but when they came back the eggs weren't poached they were fried and hard again.
I'm not the shy or timid type and I was starting to get heated so I sent them back again pointing out that this is supposed to be a VI signature dish and gave the server instructions on how the dish was to be served but when it came back for a third time the eggs were poached but again hard as rocks. I told him that I had no intentions of paying for their mistake and ordered a hamburger instead.
Fast-forward to tonight the day before Thanksgiving the only reason we went back was to pick up a pie (which they were out of) but no matter I thought I would give VI one last try thinking that maybe the chefs had been changed, nope no such luck the eggs were again hard as rocks even after I explained to the waitress to poach them soft, I sent them back and they returned in the same condition poached hard as a rock. This is the last time I will eat at The Village Inn, I demanded and received the charge for the dish be taken off of our check.
We were eating breakfast, there was a manager going aroung asking every table how their breakfast was, when he got close to our table he passed us up and went to the table behind us and all the other table s which every other table beside ours was caucasion. I told my mother "its because we are hispanic" She agreed, I thought racism was not bad anymore...Read full review

Village Inn Restaurants - poison food
If you go to the Village Inn in West El Paso for breakfast you'll be sorely disappointed, and you might even get food poisoning! For me, third time was definitely not the charm. All three times I went to the Mesa St. restaurants, I was served a cold breakfast, and every time I had to send the breakfast back to be reheated. I complained to management, but they just gave me excuses. Needless to say I will never set foot in a Village Inn restaurant again. When in El Paso, go to McDonalds for breakfast. You get a better value for the price.

I went to Village Inn with my brother and a friend. I ordered the chicken with mashed potatoes. We were eating and having a fund time but when I went to eat the chicken, it was ice cold. I wasn't going to say anything a first because I'm really not the type to complain but my brother called our waitress over and told her my chicken was cold. It wasn't...Read full review
