My account was canceled effective September 10, after days of problems getting transfer codes from Verizon (that’s a separate issue.) I’ve been billed every month since then, with no explanation. Just had another payment taken from my checking account today and I spent 2 hours trying to get an explanation. Was told over and over by the chat agent they cannot get information from a closed account. Their hands “are tied.” I must go to a store and get a print out, no exception, no other avenue. Nearest store is 2 hours over a mountain but, no exception. Somehow Verizon is incapable of texting, emailing, or mailing, this information to me. They gave me a website for closed accounts but all it does is give you a number to call, which is useless.
I would think it would be illegal to take money out of a checking account without providing the customer with a reasonable accounting for the transaction. Reasonable does not include a 4 hour drive.
This is a continuation of the stonewalling I got when I tried to transfer service. They would not give me a transfer codes, and when they finally did, it was bogus….all zeros.
I will never, ever, use Verizon again.
Recommendation: Leave, but it won’t be easy!
