T.J. Maxx treated a return with bad form.

I went into a local TJ maxx this morning before work to return two items from a purchase made about a week ago. It was early in the morning, so I may have been one of the cashiers first customers. When I told her it was a return she was really initially unhappy about it which I understand might be because it reflects poorly on her sales. She asked me if they were used and what my reason for the return was. I had just made the purchase, both items were brand new, and the top had its original tag.

She pointed to the shoes and said they were used and could not be returned to which I pointed out that they were in prestene condition with stickers still attached. She took them over to a manager on the side. I heard the manager tell the cashier the shoes looked new. After speaking to him for a bit, they both returned and told me they were used and could not be purchased. Really? I asked her to point out signs of whare. She could not. She then tried to tell me my recipt was incorrect, and had no shoes listed on it. I had to point out that the last item was the footwear. Again no apology, no reasoning, no offer to exchange or find another size. Just continued to insist I couldn't make the return, and made me feel like a honest transaction was criminal. I have taken photos of the shoes while with the cashier. I called the customer hotline this morning and was told I would be sent an email within an hour. Its 4 PM I have yet to hear anything. I'll wait, but honestly I will not be shopping the Tj Maxx stores again.

T.J. Maxx rae dunn customers liable and malicious posts about myself and other employees

I work at the johnsoncity, tn. Tjmaxx. Yesterday the rae dunn customers posted my name and place of employment as well as intent to harm my job and reputation. I have about 38 screen shots of this conversation mentioning my name, place of employment and ententions to contact corporate. There are about 7 names in this conversation that are slandering myself and making liable posts. The criteria for a liable or slander lawsuit is in these screenshots. My name, place of employment and intent of malice posted on social media to a grop or individual and is accessible to be seen by a 3rd party. These customers arrive at the front of our store approximately 2 hours before we open. We have to walk through them to get into the building, one imparticular lurks around corners and eavesdrops hoping to get information for the rae dunn group throughout the day. How would tjmaxx corporate like to deal with this kind of behavior on a daily basis. You hear about it but the associates "9years with excellent evaluations here", to work in this hostile environment. The managememt team does what they can but the policy of putting this merchandise out every morning for only certain individuals to camp out and get is a major problem. They all think we hide rae dunn from them. We are enabling a group of a few customers to change the culture of our store for the worse. If this merchandise was treated like any other merchandise it wouldn't be such a huge mess. The people in these groups love to report employees and gossip like children in there private groups where no one has a chance to defend themselves. The employees of this company work hard, provide excellent customer service. We shouldn't dealing with so much immaturity and nonsense over white dishes. A few fellow employees are derogatorily mentioned in these published rae dunn group posts that are only doing there jobs and dealing with the situation as best they can. If corporate would like to see these pages I would gladly provide them to you. There are names and profile pics with each statement that was posted in that group. The admin and moderator of this group lik take a moment to look at the attached pages it would be appreciated.

T.J. Maxx service

I was on the men lotion department and one item was marked down because the plastic that protect the cream bottle was half ripped off then I just take the litle piece of plastic that was on the top of the bottle and the employee with the name Sonia coming with bad maners and said to no open the bottles, I explain to her that I didn't opened the bottle That I just removed the extra plastic that was covered and she still with the presure that no open the bottles.
I just feel discriminated at that moment then I request te manager, she arrived and apologied by her manners.
The cashier that I din't notice her name said to me that if I want to return the cream I can do it because was already open item and ecause, is, less than $5 I can get my money back with a sarcastic actitud.
That's no the customer service that I expected from tjmaxx I like any customer deserve respect, and is doesn't matter the price of the item they need a better customer service .trainig

T.J. Maxx unethical behavior

Hello,
I recently visited your TJMaxx store in Newark, Delaware and am alarmed by the way I was treated by one of your cashiers. I was in the line with my daughter and granddaughter ready to check out. Originally, I was standing behind a woman, who then proceeded to move ahead to speak to one of the cashiers up front. The #8 cashier became available and called for the next customer. As I proceeded to move forward, the customer then turned around and stated that she was next and would like to go to that cash register. I apologized and returned back to the start of the line. When another cash register became available, I moved forward again. This time, it was #6, and she began to speak to me in a condescending tone stating that I had cut the line and will not be serviced. She then demanded I returned to the end of the line. It was humiliating to be spoken to like this, especially when I did not cut the line and had been standing here the entire time. I asked the customer behind me to verify that I in fact did not cut the line in front of him, and at this point a Coordinator stepped in to check me out. The cashier's name was Marie, and I am very disappointed in the way she handled the situation and really hope that for future customers, this type of humiliation does not occur.
I have worked at Tiffany and Co for 22 years and I would never talk or treat a customer the way I was treated today...…

thanks you for your time and I hope this can be addressed. I can be reach if need be @[protected]

Your first sentence is an incomplete sentence. It should be written, "It is a shame to post on this website with poor punctuation, grammar, and spelling." Your second sentence isn't correct either. It should be written as such, "You are blaming the furniture for your issue but it really was the manager (no capital A in the middle of the word) whom you didn't like."

T.J. Maxx racial profiling staff behavior

While visiting my college roommate for the weekend we decided to go to TJ Maxx in Plaistow to find items to wear for the evening. We arrived to the store a little after 8 p.m. We had her two children and my daughter with us. I went to the dress section, then home section in the center (picking up two plant stands to purchase along the way) and finally to the shoe section to find shoes for the evening. My daughter was pushing the carriage and the two boys 5 and 7 of were on the back of the carriage as children often do. I went down two shoe aisles to view the selections. In the meantime, I received a phone call and began talking on the phone while looking at the shoes. I saw a short Hispanic woman ( a TJ Maxx employee) come to the aisle. I looked up and she just stared at me. I thought this was odd as she never entered the aisle just came to the aisle opening and stared expressionless at me. I went back to looking at a few different pairs of shoes and I tried on a pair of sandals as well.

Moments later I see a Caucasian woman and the Hispanic lady at the opposite end of the aisle saying something to my 12 year old daughter. I pause my phone conversation and the woman says to me, "Are you shopping in this section?" I reply yes and ask why. She responds she was just asking. I instantly respond, "This is a store, why else would I be in the shoe section if not looking for shoes?" She then proceeds to go on about how she was just asking says she is sorry however, never explains a reason as to why she asked. I instantly felt weird about this entire interaction. I say to my daughter, "Let's go, " and to bring the kids back to my friend who was trying on an outfit for the night. We grab the plant stands and head to the register.
Upon purchasing my items, the whole situation isn't sitting right with me. I look at the time and TJ MAXX is open for another hour. I think about the kids if they were misbehaving and no they weren't loud nor playing around. Just a few steps away from me chatting with my daughter as I looked for shoes. It is now 8:39pm, I asked the cashier to speak to a manager. I have never been in any store and asked that question. I just couldn't process what just happened.
The cashier calls for the manager. As the manager approaches, I am completing my transaction, my daughter says, "Mom, it's her." I tell the cashier to cancel the manager call and I would contact the corporate office with my complaint. But the manager whose name I learned is Ellen Sickle still comes and begins with saying she is sorry. I said to her, "Knowing now that you are the manager I would like to ask, what was the purpose in asking me the question? As if people go to TJmaxx for other purposes than shopping?" I asked if it had to do with the children and she replied no. Ellen explained she was sorry and she shouldn't have asked me that. I asked if that a common practice of store managers to customers. I asked if she needed to do something in the aisle. She says, "yes actually, she needed to move a large load of items to that section." Mind you she was empty handed without a cart in tow, just the Hispanic woman glaring at her side.
I explained that if that was the case, her approach was wrong and seeing my response she should have followed up with an explanation to the question. Why would you be doing inventory at 830 at night when you close at 10? Not sure what TJmaxx practices are for inventory but I doubt this was the case in this situation.

Then to add insult to injury she says, "Ma'am I asked you because you were all over the place." What?! Now I am absolutely offended and upset! My indecisiveness and going down two aisles of shoes are supposed to indicate that I'm not in TJ Maxx to shop?! I don't understand how my shopping in different sections or being on the phone was even a valid reason for a manager and a store employee to ask if I'm actually shopping.

I finished the conversation letting ELLEN SICKLE know she was rude and her behavior was unacceptable. She said she had already said, "sorry multiple times and didn't know what else to say." I said sorry was not enough and she needed to reevaluate her skills as an employee because she was wrong to even approach me with that question in the first place. The explanation from Ellen and her lack of empathy was astounding. An apology with that sort of justification is unacceptable. I can only conclude that this type of behavior was displayed because of racial profiling!
Ellen was not in the aisle to restock and the Hispanic lady was actually not a deer in headlights but watching me as if I was a thief of some sort. A black woman being on the phone and visiting different sections of the store is somehow an indication of an unusual shopping pattern for consumers in TJ Maxx stores. Ellen said I was all over the place? What does that even mean? Does that warrant the right for her to ask if I'm shopping in an area?
Sadly, I questioned my attire which to include I had on a black bodysuit and Bermuda shorts with a small black pouch purse that was thrown on my arm instead of my waist. Where the heck would I have to even put stolen shoes? Why am I even questioning my attire? Was that an indication of my intentions while in the store or was it used to stereotype me? Apparently, a black woman cannot shop leisurely around TJ Maxx in Plaistow, NH without her intention being questioned!
Why on earth is this behavior acceptable especially coming from a TJmaxx store manager or any employee? I feel insulted and appalled to have experienced this kind of service! I am from Massachusetts and never have I ever had this type of encounter in one of the TJ Maxx locations. The fact that my daughter had to experience this in what was supposed to be a quick shopping trip but ended up watching her mom be unjustly questioned and then having to explain that this experience was based on racial discrimination, stereotyping and prejudice. Is this the type of Employee behavior Tjmaxx allows?!

I might add that this incident made me so angry that I hit my friend's sons just because they were Hispanic. I told them that I hope that they die. My daughter told me to stop and I slapped her across the face. Now the racist police put my daughter in a foster home.

T.J. Maxx product purchased/ used!

I recently saw a dress on the rack, looked at the price (it was on clearance) said "Yes!" And ran to the register to purchase without trying it on, when I returned home and actually put the dress on I realized that it had been worn! The dress was filthy, I even attempted to clean the dress up in attempts to keep it but it was absolutely a mess and unsalvagable so I proceded to the store to return it. The manager (A David B) was incredible rude and condescending towards me stating that I had not even bought the dress at your store and would not return it. I was absolutly appalled! Not only did I pay for something that was clearly used by soneone else but when I realized the manager had the audacity to be belitteling as well as say I was lying!? I requested they pull the footage from when I purchased the dress and he pushed me aside and stated he was finished with me. I want to return the (disgusting used) garment that I should not have purchased to begin with, I have all tags and valid reciept from less than two weeks ago.

T.J. Maxx service

On Friday I went to a different Tjmaxx in Manhattan at 57 St to return a handbag because the top handle broke and it wasn't even my fault I literally just lifted it up. The man said we can't verify it and he said go to the place you actually bought it and they should give me my money back. Today which is Sunday July 14 2019 I went to the Tjmaxx in Altas Park to return it and I have the receipt and they said the bag is too damage and we can't take it and I told them that the other Tjmaxx told me if I come to the same store I bought it I will get my money back and they lie to me. It is very rude I am never shopping at any Tjmaxx again. Also the service is crap a lot of of miscommunication.

I paid $72 for this bag is not like a cheap bag that cost $30-40. The only way that I will change my mind about shopping in any Tjmaxx is if I get my refund on this bag because I only have this bag less than a month.

T.J. Maxx managers

Every manager at tj maxxx in Dulles landing are rude and unprofessional. You would think the cashiers and dressing room watchers are the managers because of the level of professionalism. They should honestly drop every manager because of how useless they are. The managers belittle every customer with an accent. They are racist and just horrible people in general.

T.J. Maxx received empty box without item I paid for.

Order a skirt and received a large empty box with a invoice inside and no skirt. Only I was offered was a refund and I can re order the skirt and "temporarily "pay shipping on the skirt, meaning it will eventually the charge will come of my card. I'm being penalized for receiving a empty box I paid for. No apologies from Tjmaxx. I feel robbed/ ripped off. Loved the skirt but Tjmaxx is asking me to pay double what I initially paid. I can't do that in good conscious. Never will I order or shop Tjmaxx again, and I've been loyal to Tjmaxx. I'm going to let everyone who'll listen know how a disabled person was treated simply trying to buy a skirt. Rude condescending customer service reps. I expected better from Tjmaxx.

T.J. Maxx sales associate named ethel

Hi, to whom it may concern,

I went to the TJ MAXX at 3675 Satellite Blvd, Duluth, GA 30096 about 2 months ago and my mother who's fair in English went up to the register to return something. The lady named Ethel (she's tall and black and about 50ish) was rude to my mother from the beginning for no reason because I guess my mother did not understand something she said. Ethel then continued to berate and belittle and poke fun at my mother with another sales girl on the register next to her and my mother said that they continued to make faces and make my mother feel very uncomfortable. My mother then asked her a question and Ethel raised her finger up at my mother's face (without even looking at her) and shushed her to wait. She did this about another time or two when my mother attempted to ask her a simple question. Then my mother asked her name and she told her it was Heather. My mother came, visibly upset with this whole interaction and I went to find a manager to file a complaint. I found a manager near by and I said that the lady named Heather was really rude to my mother, but the manager said that there was no person named Heather. By this time Ethel was away from the register so I couldn't even point her out. Then I went up to a different person at a register and found out that her real name was Ethel, not Heather like she had initially told my mother. Afterwards I was shopping near the jewelry area and I KNOW Ethel came close to me to start a fight. But I went up to her politely and started to tell her that I was upset about how she treated my mother but while in mid-sentence she put up her finger to my face and said "if you have any complaints, go complain to a manager" and totally shut me down. I shop most of the time at this location or the other one close by but NEVER had I ever had such a BAD TERRIBLE experience as this. Ethel's attitude was RUDE and DEMEANING and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and no customer should be treated the way my mother was treated. It's not my place to tell your company what to do with such a HORRIBLE employee but NO customer, actually NO HUMAN should be treated the way my mother was. And for what? there was NO VALID reason for the rudeness, my mother was just a victim of someone who doesn't know how to treat another human being with decency and common curtesy. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my complaint.

T.J. Maxx labor practices at georgetown store, manager, taylor trent

Taylor Trent is hiring new employees, often very young people and deceiving them into thinking they can be full time employees eventually. This is a lie because there are many long term employees who have worked in the store for years and they have never become full time. TJ MAXX needs to have new employees sign a letter which explains to them that they will never be full time and they will never be promised any minimum hours. Taylor Trent is giving 10 hours a week and sometimes 5 hours a week to employees who have worked 4-5 years in the store and giving more hours to newly hired employees. This deception leads new employees to think they have a real job when they do not. It also destroys moral in the stores when people who are willing to work more hours and have in the past, see they have no value to the company or store when newly hired 18 year olds are given more hours per week. This lack of consideration of current employees could explain why the OSET scores are low. Employees aren't going to sacrifice for a company that makes them feel replaceable and insignificant.

The Georgetown store has a huge turnover of employees because when they wake up to the deception, they quit. The employees who do show up for their 10 hours a week have to work 3 times as hard because there aren't enough employees to run the store. Taylor Trent is not having enough people work in the store to deal with the number of people who come into the store and this results in exploitation of the people who show up to work and the staff's inability to deal with the customers.

T.J. Maxx online shopping

I submitted an online order on 6/25/19. I received an email explaining one item was canceled on 6/27/19. My order was not shipped until 7/1/19. I received one box today and it was someone else's order of children's clothes, two pairs of scissors, one lipstick and a pair of shoes. I contacted customer service who instructed me to return the order then told me to place my order again (some items I could not get because now they're out of stock and we're Birthday gifts) and once my return order is received then I'll get my credit. This has been a very inconvenient process and I'm so disappointed in the company that I work for. Now I cannot get numerous items that I had anticipated on receiving because someone was incompetent and messed up my Mother's Birthday gifts. Original order [protected] and new order [protected].

T.J. Maxx being rude and unprofessional

Whenever I go into the TJ Maxx store in Framingham, MA, Michael D'Angelo is always being unprofessional, rude to his co-workers and to the customers, and NEEDS to be fired immediatly.

1. While I was in line on Mother's Day of this year, he told one of his co-workers (forgot the name of the person) to go home when it was their day of and then telling them to go bleep themselfs. The co-worker wasn't bothering anyone.

2. On several different incidences through out different periods of time, he was screaming at the same co-worker (didn't catch the name) to go back their register and stay there after assisting a fellow cashier and stay there when there was hardly anyone in line. He also told them don't bother anyone for the rest of your shift.

3. Michael keeps talking certain cashiers about non-work related issues and making fun of other people.

I agree with you. Whenever I go in there, he is rude and being unprofessional to the employees and to the customers. I also wanted to add 5 more complaints.

1. While waiting in line, I saw him throwing a tantrum in front of a manager(didn't get the name of the manager) something about taking customers. (If I was his manager, I would of sent him home for the day.)

2. He is being lazy and doesn't want and/or do his job right.

3. He would also get in the cashiers faces and ask them why their customer wouldn't open a credit card. (He and the management team shouldn't be asking them why they didn't open one. It's too much pressure for the cashiers to ask them to open a rewards card when the interest rate is too high.)

4. He would also ask the cashiers where they've been. Its non of his business where they've been.

5. He is racist and complains too much.

Bottom Line: He is not fit for the job and should be fired. If I was a manager, I would not hire this person in the first place.

T.J. Maxx a return item

I bought one pair of exercise tights at a TJ Maxx in Austin costing $14.99, but did not try it on as I was pressed for time. When I got home, I tried on the tights and they were too small. Despite the fact I bought a size I normally wear which is size Small. It may have been the brand, but these tights did not fit. I put it back into the bag and in my car to exchange or return it. Two weeks had gone by before I finally got a chance to go to the TJ Maxx in Bastrop. When I got there, I looked around for the tights or something similar, but did not find anything I like, so I decided to return the tights for some snacks. When I got the the cashier she looked at the tights and found some dust at the end of one leg of the tights and immediately accused me of wearing the tights and brining it back to return it. Mind you, all the multiple tags were still attached, and I had my receipt. She was so rude to me. I told her I did not wear the tights, 1. they were too small and 2. all the tags were still attached. She continued accusing me of of wearing the tights and brining it back. I insisted I never wore the tights. At this point, I was so infuriated and offended, I asked for the Manager. The Manager came over and was very understanding. She looked at the tights and said it was just some dust. Yes, it is dust, because it was in the car for two weeks, tumbling around with everything I have going on with my kids in the car. The Manager apologized on behalf of the cashier and told the cashier to give me my refund. The cashier never apologized and remained rude and accusative to me.

I have never been so humiliated, and my honesty and integrity questioned in such rude and belittling manner. I was so upset I left all the snacks I was going to purchase at the cashier's counter. I was not going to give the store my money.

I will not shop at TJ Maxx in Bastrop again and will tell everyone I know not to shop there. Yelp, FB and Twitter will hear about it too.

T.J. Maxx I am complaining about clearance price item

I am writing about the racist people on earth named Deb S. And the manager Jesse who work at TJ maxx in oak creek, Wisconsin. I was going to buy a clearance item which was $12 but the employee without telling me anything called the manager and told him the time doesn't look that cheap so the manager came and change the clearance item price to it original price without any notice to me or telling me anything. Than the employee named Deb S. Told me it's not on sale and the manager said same thing. What the hack! Why would you put something in clearance first place if you don't want to sell it as a clearance item. They are very dump people need to be fired immediately otherwise the TJ max in oak creek wi could be out of business because of these 2 people. Very very very very Rude people Deb S. And Jesse the manager. 👎

T.J. Maxx toy department employees bad attitude.

I have been in the toy department with my 3 year old daughter several times. She plays with the Toy's and we try to pick up what she gets out best as we can.
There has been two times where the employees in that department have been terribly rude. Today my little girl was playing with a ball very well behaved and the employee told her and three other children they weren't allowed to do that. She kept repeating it with me standing there. I keep a watchful eye on my daughter and make sure she behaves. She was doing nothing wrong. I am sure people let there kids do things that are naughty in the toy department, but this was not the case. The employee then goes on venting outloud how appalled she was she has to say anything. She then starts doing her job and picks the toys up. She plainly was not happy to have to be the one picking up the toy department. I got the brunt of her frustration. It probably gets quite messy a nd I'm sure it's not a fun job. But to carry the wrath of the toy zone that other kids disorganized, not mine, onto me and my child is unacceptable. It made me terribly upset that she thought she could be so verbal!
The other time I experienced this same situation, there were 3 employees picking up. I was basically alone in the store at the end of the night with my daughter. There were lots of toys out from all the kids that were in the store that day. They very loudly complained with lots if bitterness and made me terribly uncomfortable. Again i felt like they were taking out all there frustration on the only parent left in the department, whom actually picks up after her child! I honestly did not just feel they were rude in that situation, but I felt in danger of them harming me, because the way they were talking. Very angry.
I like this store very much! But I feel I should not have to put up with such terrible customer service when I want to go look at the toys.

The toy department in any store is not there for your children to play in. The retailers are trying to sell these toys. Who wants to buy a toy that’s already been played with by another child?

The employee's job is not to be your indentured servant and pick up after the mess your child makes. That's an ignorant, demeaning comment that shows what a self-entitled individual you are. YOUR job as a PARENT is to ensure that your child's mess is cleaned up after, and completely, not just "trying to pick up what she gets out" as best you can. Who raised YOU?

With all respect as an associate who has worked in that dept for 2 years, by the end of the night the employees working the night shift are drained and frustrated. If It is almost closing time you are going to hear the comments from the day. The work is really thrown specifically on the night shift.
You're right It is not a fun job picking up after children but you're there to shop and leave. It's not a playground for your daughter. Management, loss prevention personnel and even corporate walk around the stores specifically looking at the cleanliness of departments and corporate will not be happy if the associate does not stop your daughter from bouncing the ball. Although It isn't, they still consider It a safety hazard. Buy the ball and play with It outside.
