T.J. Maxx false and misleading advertising

I saw a big sign, SAVE 10% Fill out a Target Credit App Today *

I made my purchase, filled out the form, and did not get instant approval for my Target Credit card. They did not give me the discoutn, because there was an * that said with instant approval. I was scammed into filling out their app. I spent $88.00. so they owe me $8.80.

Also, fine print isn't hiding anything. Just because you miss it doesn't mean it's their fault. You weren't scammed.

I think it's kind of common sense that the only point behind filling out the app is so that you're approved for the card and you use it. Why would they give you something for nothing in return?

T.J. Maxx bad return policy

I tried to return a pair of shoes that I purchased. The cashier said that she could not give me a refund because I paid with a check. She stated that I would have to wait 10 days from the date
of purchase. I explained that I do not have the time to make another trip to the store just to return the shoes. I asked to speak with the store manager.

A female presented herself as the store manager. She refused to give her last name. She did not admit that she was not the store manager until I advised that I will be writing a letter about my experience. Then a male presented himself as the store manager He later admitted that he was the assistant manager . He stated that the store manager was not in.

I explained that I needed to return the shoes that day. He pointed to a statement on the counter regarding a 10 day hold on checks. I explained that my receipt stated that returns are accepted within 30 days with receipt. There is nothing on the receipt regarding a 10 day hold. He stated that other stores had the same policy. I failed to understand the relevance or why he made that statement. I asked if he could make an exception so that I would not have to return in 3 days in order to get a refund on the shoes. He refused.

I was very surprised by this. I wondered how TJ Maxx could stay in business with this type of policy and such unprofessional employees; especially give the large amount of competitors.

Since I am so unhappy with this experience, I decided to return my entire purchase . I also convinced my daughter to allow me to return her purchase. She said that she would be happy to shop at Ross instead.

That was my last visit to a TJ Maxx store. There are so many other stores to shop. I’m hoping that others that come across my complaint will do the same. No one wants to shop knowing that there may be a problem or inconvenience if something needs to be returned. In addition there’s a good chance that the employees will be rude and unprofessional.

They just lost two customers and probably a lot more.

Your check must clear before a return can be made. It's a common policy in retail.

Returns are accepted within 30 days with receipt WITH RESTRICTIONS. Returns are a customary measure not a right. So because you were so convinced that waiting ten days was such a waste of time I'm assuming you went back again to return all your items and your daughter's items since you've clearly stated in the beginning that you were returning one pair of shoes? Oh yah way to stick it to the company Einstein. You've surely saved yourself some time out of your busy schedule there. Real mature, you must be really proud of the life lessons you're teaching your daughter to fight for.

T.J. Maxx shady practices-poor customer service

Bought a pair of jeans, tag never taken off-no problem at purchase time-when I attempted to return them today for a store credit (I was past the 30 days), the clerk scanned the barcode and said, oh no, this is for a white blouse, not jeans--I said the tag is obviously in tact, not tampered with, and as I purchased them with that tag, I don't understand--she went on to get two managers who said "we don't even carry that brand" go home and check for the correct tag"--again, I stated that I did not remove the tag, I don't know what brands they carry, I purchased those jeans from that store, had correct receipt in hand and was told that I was wrong---keep in mind that I have shopped at that store for over 15 years with no problems--I was made a fool of, as I left the store I said I would not be back---I immediately went home and filed a complaint with the BBB-I'll see what happens---
If this was a wrong tag, I can only believe that there is some unethical practices going on with the staff of this store!
Be careful and do not shop there unless you have a personal barcode reader------------Very Bad Place to shop!
And I would recommend you use a credit card--Unfortunately, I used my Debit card-----will not make that mistake again!

T.J. Maxx rude associate named sadie

For the past so many years, if I would like to buy something that could be clothes, house items, etc., tj maxx in long beach is the 1st store that comes in mind because it's close to where we live. After the incident happened this afternoon, I would now think twice if I would still want to come to tj maxx store in long beach, ca. One of the associate named sadie doesn't know how to provider superior customer service. What happened was... I have my two kids (1 yr and 5 mos & 4 yrs old) with me when I went to the store. I tried 10 dresses to be exact and took the cart inside the fitting room, which was okay with the 1st associate. I came out of the fitting room fine. I needed to try two dresses so went back to the fitting room but this time the 1st associate took her break. The associate named sadie was there to relieve her. This person sadie told me in a rude manner that I can't take the shopping cart inside the fitting room. So, I told her that the other lady let me take the cart inside the fitting room earlier with no problem. But sadie insisted in a rude manner again and raised the tone of her voice and said, it's a company policy that customer can't take the cart inside the fitting room. I understand about the policy. I could have listened to her but the way she addressed it to me is not nice at all. So I told her, I have my kids and I can't leave my kids outside the fitting room (i'm speaking for my 1 year and 5 months old child because he was sitting on the cart, if I take him out of the cart then I can't try the clothes on).in addition, I told her that my kids are more important to me than these other things. The sad thing about this incident is that she thinks i'm using my kids as an excuse - why in the world i'd do that. Again, sadie responded and said that she is not there to argue with me. If that is the case, i'm not there to argue either. I came to shop not to argue with discourteous associate. This sadie need to take some customer service skills class as if this continue to happen then this store will start losing their customer.

The thing I keep reading over and over again is customers complaining that the SA won't break company policy for them. If they tell them no, they are being rude. I guess they expect the SA should get fired catering to their wants or they just aren't giving good customer service.

One SA breaking the rules for you doesn't mean all the others have to as well. You state she told you once and you argued with her, she repeated it and you argued yet again, well yeah, she's gonna get a little ticked with your lack of comprehension. You claim you would have listened but the fact that she had to repeat herself numerous times before you finally grasped it prooves you were unable to listen.
Your kids in this case are an excuse. You should ask them to hold any dresses you're interested in until you can return sans kid or wit someone who can watch them while you try things on. Can it be annoying to have to do things that way? Yes, of course, but those are the breaks when you pop out a child (or two).
Perhaps in the future you could have his carseat with you and go to the handicap changing room so you'll have a seat to place said carseat on and room for the 1 year old to move about while you change.
Looking at it from the store's POV they don't know if you're stuffing clothes under your kid in the cart or what. People use their kids to help shoplift all the time. The term better safe than sorry comes into play here.

T.J. Maxx rudeness of staff to a customer

I was with a friend who wanted to get a promisded price reduction on a Juicy Couture bag. The bag was slightly damaged and the manager said that she could get a 10% price reduction. My friend did not but the bag that day, but returned the following day to purchase the bag. She told the cashier that she whould get 10% off; the cashier did not believe her and a major fuss was made about the price reduction. Eventually, the manager backed up her story. One if the cashiers loudly said "why didn't you but the bag yesterday?" This was mean and rude and disrespectful I said that in today's economy the store should be glad that someone is willing to purchase a non essential designer bag. Noone was polite to my friend and I felt impelled to write this complaint. The staff needs to act pleasant, courteous and professional. The sales staff at a nearby Sears is extremely courteous and extends themselves trying to help customers. TJ Maxx needs to properly train its staff. Shopping should be pleasant and not a demeaning experience. By the way before price reduction the bag was $229.. staff should have been willing to make a discount for a damaged item and sasy thank you at point of purchase.

You losers think you are entitled to something because you shop in a store. Thats ridiculous! If you don't like the price, don't buy it... someone else will, and the store will be happy they aren't dealing with your stupidness anyway! Stop thinking you are entitled to something... people like you are the reason this country is so jacked up anyway!

Wow yes Tj Maxx is a DISCOUNTED STORE ALL READY. Corporate makes the rules and the first mark down is 10% its an as is price too. Why they were mean was probably because it was a lil scratch and u wanted alot off of it. yeah its not a yard sale we dont bargan... you dont go demanding how much u want to pay for something either.

Who are you to expect a discount on an item--what do you think TJMaxx is a flea market, yard sale where you can barter for a price--this is a discount store, you couldn't decide what you wanted that day--I bet you went somewhere else to purchase the same purse and they wouldn't give you a discount so you went back to TJMAXX and expected the same curtesy--I bet the same employees were not even there the second time you went back, they don't know you were there before--and don't care either. If you see something BUY it then and there, you don't want it DON'T buy it. GET A LIFE If you are so CHEAP just shop at yard sales where you CAN barter for the price

T.J. Maxx fake brands?

We were shocked when my daughter saw an identical blouse at tj maxx which she had purchased the year before - with a different brand name. The first one, can't think of that brand, but ecxpensive brand/designer. This one, same buttons, color, everything, but lable read max aseria. Said the blouse was valued at $200, but their price $20. Now I see why! My daughter was mad at the designer — but I said, he's a big designer, he doesn't need to steal someone else's design and put his lable on it. So who did this? Hmmmmmmm... Linda

Sorry to tell everyone but TJ Maxx sells fakes!, 85% of the items in their stores are made for them, they then either with or without permission place a designer label on it. Look into the what congress is researching and you will see most outlet stores sell substandard clothes and claim they are the real deal. Consumers beware and stop supporting Tj maxx, Marshalls and other ripoff stores

Dear Consumerwatch33418,
I am not saying that what you are reporting isn't true because i wasn't there, but I did want to add something to your complaint.
Sometimes manufacturers of different products sell their items to brand names, and the brand name company put their name on the product. After a while when the production company has sold all of their products to their respective clients they sometimes have a surplus or irregular products that were returned. It is these surpluses and irregular items that TJ Max and other companies get, and yes sometimes you will find different brand names on what appears to be the same item. it only means that the manufacturer sold it's product to more than one company.

TJMaxx does not sell fake brands. There are "generic" brands that are sold to all retailers like Walmart, Discovery, Kohls, etc. But they do not sell fake brands. A lot of designers sell similar things, even if they do look identical. For example, Sketchers sells shoes that look like Ed Hardy now. Many brands mimic Ed Hardy now. And why are you complaining anyway? You'd rather spend $200 on a shirt than probably like $20 or less?

Designers rip each other off all the time... That's not tj maxx's fault. OR Sometimes merchandise appears from fraudulent returns. Those things that are taken back because the manager is too nice/stupid/afraid of customers calling corporate on him/her/it. I known people to sew tags onto thriftstore clothes and try to pass them off as a real thing...

T.J. Maxx insult by an employee

Me and my husband were at TJ Maxx in Santa Clara on Feb 17. Our purchase comprised of a single item of 149.99. It took us about two minutes to choose the item and proceed to the billing counter. We were being helped by a guy named Tony at the counter who suggested us to open a TJ mastercard which would get us some points with every purchase we make. We agreed to open it. He opened it for us. But, by then he had already processed the transaction for our purchase with my husband's visa card (not the one we just opened).

So my husband realized that we could have bought that item on TJMatercard itself so as to start earning points. Tony readily said yes...and canceled the previous transaction (on my husband's visa card) and after that his shift ended and he had to be replaced by a woman who name was Margaret. Tony told her that he had already returned on visa card now she only had to give us a return receipt for the return on visa card and charge us on TJ mastercard.

That seemed straightforward to us but we were wrong and as this woman took up we were totally screwed. She started working on it and after some time she came up with 3 receipts. She asked my husband to sign one of them on which it was written Store Copy. My husband signed it. Out of the other two receipt one has customer copy written on it and the other was a begin return memo which are both generally given to the customer. She didnt give it to my husband and when he asked for it...she said that she could not give to us.

My husband asked her that we too need to have a record of the transaction even though its been returned but we need to check our credit card statement and we need to have a customer copy for proof if required. But she simply refused to give. Me and my husband were surprised with her and stood there quietly. Now, she had to charge us on the new card we opened...after about 15 minutes of wait she said...ok its done.

She presented the receipt to my husband for the signature and as my husband was going through the receipt before signing it...he saw that she had charged us twice for the single 149.99 item we had bought. He told Margaret that something is wrong and she needs to check. She picked up the receipt from the counter and flew the receipt in my husband's face (though the receipt dropped from there only and didnt land on my husband's face. If it had, i wont have stood there silently). Needless to mention, we felt really bad but my husband gestured me to ignore it.

She again got back to her system and we again waited for about 15 minutes. Then she came back to us with...yes... more receipts. She said...you are all set. As my husband checked the new receipt he found that we were charged for an amount which was not at all in our purchase and more to our surprise the amount was split in two amounts. Although as I mentioned earlier we bought only one item. Again both of us tried to tell her something is going wrong. we were also very worried for what she was charging us for:

1. First she charged us twice. 2. We didnt know yet whether she canceled the double amount. 3. Second time, she came up with not one but two completely different amounts. 4. Still after all that mess we were no where near...a) Being charged for the right amount. b) Being returned all wrong amounts.

We asked her whats happening. she said "this system is acting weird. I dont know." We were taken aback by her reply. She stood there looking at those a dozen of receipts as if nothing made any sense to her. She didnt knew what to do...how to do. Apparently, she had no brain to process a straightforward transaction and I could make out it made her extremely frustrated. As time kept on passing she called somebody to help her.

The Store Manager Kim L. came and told her something and she started doing it on the system. As Margaret was working and Kim was looking...Kim grabbed Margaret's hand saying "what are you doing." Margaret responded "i don't know". Anticipating another potential blunder by Margaret my husband told Kim that please make sure everything is in place now. At this Margaret whispered to Kim that "HE IS IRRITATING ME". We heard it very clearly and I was extremely upset.

I asked Kim if there was a complaint register or somebody to whom I could report a complaint. She said they didnt had a complaint register and she was the store manager so whom am i going to report to. I was further more offended. I told them " we know what she spoke. We stood here for 1 hour at the billing counter. Margaret created all the mess. Still we waited patiently and silently. We should have been the one complaining and contrary to that its Margaret taking out on us. She is frustrated on herself and pouring out on us. We still dont know what we have been charged for...will have to check our statement. She cant just say my husband was irritating her. my husband has only been nice and kind to her for what mess she created since she didnt knew her job"

We left the store as I let them know how deeply hurt and upset i was. 1.She insulted my husband so many times. i am so angered and disgusted. 2.Not to forget the billing mess she created as a result of her incompetence and lack of brains. 3.We wasted more than 1 hour on the counter for am item we chose in 2 minutes. I came home wondering is it even worth going to TJ Maxx...spending money...only to be insulted by a gross employee? I have no clue how many thousands of i have spent in this store which i now regret.

I have faced rough employees in the same store previously but they were like not giving a proper reply to a question or something like that. nothing as compared to this. My husband is not much into shopping but accompanied me just for my happiness but i really feel bad for the poor guy. I cant stand some wreck of a woman insulting him. I wish we had never gone there.

I was so happy to see TJ MAXX had online service were I could make purchases online but I place an order and it took 16 days to receive my order through regular delivery. Terrible so disappointed so flawed! Who want to wait 16 days for any delivery for a purchase even if it is standard delivery. I have never ever has to wait this long for any delivery place anywhere horrible. I will never order anything through TJ Maxx online nor will I ever recommend anyone else place a order with TJ Maxx online. Orders No [protected].

Yeah, it's frustrating. But do you realize that you are well off and can afford to blow $150 bucks on ### while Margret, infuriating as she may be, is probably struggling to make ends meet all while being expected (by you) to treat you (and all customers) as royalty? That's our job; to serve. The problem with that is when you only pay someone the absolute minimum, they're less inclined to overly-humble themselves, and begin to act like human beings again (getting frustrated, irritated) If you really were there for an hour, I would probably be irritated with you as well--no matter who you were. So while it was frustrating, consider Margret as well (even if she is a dumb crow), for this is what she deals with everyday, and we are human after all.

While I agree with many of the other commenters that this associate probably lacked the necessary training in order to handle this situation in a sufficient and acceptable manner, she was obviously also not very bright if she could not figure out something as simple as the fact that a "Customer Copy" goes to a customer and not retained at the store. I could go on and on about her other faults but this associate obviously lacks any sort of common sense or brain cells and needs to move on to doing something else.

I work at Marshall's - same, same. Same owners as TJ Maxx so same, same and yes, I see such happen as well. I know of one employee who works stoned on pot frequently and it's not a secret. Plus, we have a coordinator who is extremely condescending to the customers regarding returns. They have an extremely loose return policy but boy are there hassles upon return - not to mention sigh's, and that horrible condescending tone as if the customer is a burden. As well, we have two cashiers that never heard of the two words "customer service" in their entire life and treat the customer as if they are doing the customer a favor for ringing them up.

Wrong... TJ maxx associates dont get enough training. they are put on the register after there 4 hour training and it is so hard to learn everything u neeed to know about cashier in a timely manner in 4 hours. i have been there for 3 years and i love ringing now and i also love to help others that maynot know what they are doing.

I just read this. The training program at TJ Maxx works just fine if the management supports it. First, new associates are supposed to be trained on the sales floor and NEVER allowed to be on register for the first 30 days. It gives the associate time to understand how the business works, and allows management to see where they fit. The problem in this situation like most in retail and other places is the firefighting mentality. "I need to hire 5 people" so just hire the first 5 who I talk to without truly doing an interview or reference check. In this case "I need someone to cashier" so lets put this person on the register who either hasn't been trained or shouldn't be on a register. It is embarrassing to the customer, the store, and more importantly the associate who may be very good at other things, but being on a register is not one of them.

Come on folks follow the program.

So, you needed to have your item "returned" from your Visa and re-bought on your TJX MasterCard. That would require two transactions - a return and a purchase. So the return would print out a Store slip for you and the cashier to sign, a little slip showing just the transaction amount and a Customer copy for you. She should have given you the Customer Copy. Then she would just have to manually enter the department number, style number, and price for the item and ring it up just like a purchase. That would make the register print 2 receipts, one for you to sign and one for you to keep. So you should get your original receipt, Visa return receipt, and your TJX Mastercard receipt. Tony should have given you the return receipt when you signed for the refund. It sounds like Margaret was reluctant to ask for help and didn't realize that it was a simple return and repurchase and bungled the transaction.

There is a customer service line at [protected]-MAXX and a customer service survey at tjmaxxfeedback.com which are ways to complain that the more corporate managers would take note up including the direct supervisors for Store management.

I work at TJMaxx & first of all, I already know you probably exaggerated that story a [censor] load.

1.) When you make a return back to a Visa, only two receipts print out darling. Customer copy & store copy. There is no "return memo". Nice try. The only time it prints out three receipts is when it is returned back to a store credit.

2.) Fifteen minutes? Another fifteen minutes? Plus another? Eventually adds up to an hour? What the hell, get real. That's so exaggerated. No way in hell would it ever take that long.

3.) You already have the return receipt that shows it went back to the Visa so why are you still complaining you didn't get this so-called "return memo".

4.) Why get offended that we don't have a "complaint register"? ALOT of stores don't. So take your rich upperclass sounding [censor] out of here. We wouldn't want you back at TJMaxx anyway.

T.J. Maxx store policies

I have been (and am) an employee of TJ Maxx for many years and I am presenting my little complaints on how my store is run. As I love and fear my company let's just say I am in Maryland somewhere.

Fraud
We are allowing people who commit fraud to keep committing fraud because we fear them complaining to corporate. 90% of our customers are honest good people, why do we care if we lose the business of those that return more than they buy? Why do I have to get screamed at by crooks when my manager will come and say "just take it back". We have to return stolen items with no receipts and signs of the security tags being ripped off. Why? We can't accuse "innocent" people. I know all the crooks at least by face and many by name. I think the company should be more firm on returning merchandise that's not ours, even if it is just $5. $5 adds up a few million times... We take back so much old junk, worn, and thrift-store items... Books published in 1962 obviously ain't ours. It makes the store look more trashy and gives other crooks something to point to and say, "well you sell this".

Loss Prevention
Loss prevention should be present at all times when the store is open not just when they suspect an employee is stealing. Why are they always gone on the weekends? How many years does it take to get rid of crooks? Same ones are there as there were 4 years ago, thanks LP. A real security guard would be nice.
Hiring.
Teen age kids. Why do we let them act up? Employees who start taking things personally and mouthing off about petty things should be put in their place or gotten rid of. I am tired of lazy kids standing there scratching their ### getting paid only $1 less than me.
Note to Customers:
1. Asking us to call another store is stupid... They most likely do not have it or they will put us on hold for 20 min and say the don't have it. They are just as understaffed and busy as us.
2. I am not an expert at anything besides what I learned my self, TJ Maxx employees are not trained to give you information about anything in the store. I do not no know about expensive colognes, I'm broke.
3. Our rules do change weekly, we're as bipolar as you. That's corporate not a personal vendetta against you.
4. There is no magical machine that gives the cheapest price on everything. But since you get mad when markdown cycles are explained to you, I have to lie.
5. Don't throw things behind you as you're checking out, give em to the cashier. It's easier.
6. No stories with returns please, We don't care about it being too small for your sister.
7. Leave your xenophobic racist BS at home thnx... And don't yell at me in broken english calling me an illegal immigrant
8. TJ Maxx is not a Bazaar or Market items are priced as marked. 10% off is maximum.

I went to Evansville Indianas TJMaxx April 16, 2022.

I found a nice leather purse (forest green) marked $39 instead of $99. I spend quite a bit of time matching a bracelet and cover up to it for my mother in law for Mother’s Day.

When I got to the register a female employee needed a price check because the purse was “too nice” to be sold at that clearance price. Later she told me it didn’t have a tag. I shared with the girl it had a tag on it and if it had been lost I could go retrace my steps. Later she said the tag was inside the purse. It didn’t add up…(it was too cheap for that type of purse, it didn’t have a tag, the tag was in the purse). She was working with another employee who had me wait to find out if it was on sale. Later they told me the purse would be $99 not the clearance price. They have taken the purse off with the tag and didn’t show me on the computer that the code or number didn’t add up.

I didn’t purchase it or the items to match it.

I did purchase other items and I’ve purchased purses and other items on clearance before and never had an issue at TJMaxx. This was different. I shared with my husband about this when I came home. We waited a few hours and went back to the same TJMaxx to see if they had put the purse back on the floor. It wasn’t there. I think the employee wanted to buy the purse for that price because it was “too cheap on clearance for such a nice purse.” as she had stated.

TJMaxx has a problem in Evansville, Indiana if this is going on. I wonder if the employees are buying everything for resale? Maybe others will stop forward in my area with stories If they are experiencing this to?

Sincerely,

Evansville, Indiana

Large conglomerates (Multi-billion dollar in the case of TJX NASDAQ trading at around $78 per share) have loss prevention peeps who don't chase down shoplifters to arrest them; that's not their role. I understand they're watching everything on security cameras. When items are lifted, the cameras follow the perp outside (cameras there, too). They get the lic. plate number of the vehicle and send it to law enforcement. They no longer detain people. Then the legal system takes over. As for the recovery of stolen property -- I can't address that on the legal side. BUT, on the corporate side, the company writes off losses - so it's a monetary gain, of sorts, at least on accounting and tax document paper.
I think it's hilarious when people call citing the description of an item (of hundreds) with maybe the style number -- like I'm going to sift through ceramic dish stock all day. I think perhaps the callers think we've a computerized inventory system - which we do for mark downs and returns, no doubt, for the items on a stock truck trailer -- but we don't for all intents and corporate purposes (which means, I don't know why we don't - we should, like Target and WalMart).
I'm a low man on the TJX pyramid - part time, front end, hurling cardboard in the back, unloading trucks, sweeping up, generally, happy to be there and to be of service as best I can. Why? I'm a shareholder. I DO invest my paltry income into the company rather than buying consumer items at a small discount (e-trade). Now, that's employee savvy - despite all of the challenging extrinsics. Think about it.

I work in an Oregon tj Maxx store and completely agree with everything you all have said! Especially the huge rant about filthy dirty people letting their kids destroy everything! We once had a mom in our store let their kid carry around an chew on a 10 pound 30 dollar Hershey's bar and then hand it to us slobered on! And for you idiot customers who come to a register a half hour after we are closed with a cart full of stuff and only buy a few things and then say "ohhh sorry i didn't known you closed at 9:30! I really thought you closed at 10!" You are a liar and rude as hell! We make 2 announcements saying we are about to close and 1 saying we are closed! We have lives people and it shouldn't involve all of us standing around waiting for you to finish shopping after the store is closed! I HATE customers that stay after we are closed!

I'm a customer and I go to the Tj Maxx in Conyers, Georgia. I understand the return policy. I took an item back without a receipt, it was a purse to be exact. I no longer wanted it and I never carried it so it still had the sales tag on it. I knew that they could take it back without the receipt and issue store credit. I expected this to be done. When I have the cashier the purse, she calls for assistance from a senior cashier or supervisor maybe. That lady came over and asked me when and where I bought it and I told her that it had been a while but I purchased it there and I didn't have the original receipt. Well come to find out the tag that was on the purse was from another purse.I was looked at like I'm a criminal. What can I do? Nothing I guess. I was told to go and find the receipt and then bring it back. From where though? I didn't have it. But I shopped there 3 times each week faithfully. Not anymore though because all I got that day was side stares from the cashiers and even a few giggles. There are dishonest people out here but I'm a paying customer with a tj maxx rewards card. Bottom line, I feel like its up to the company how they handle situations.. I expected policy to rectify my situation but all I received was their perception that I was lying. I understand that most of that stuff is secondhand and offered at discounted prices but no one wants secondhand service.. That is what I received at the Conyers Tj Maxx.

I work at a TJ Maxx Maxx store in California and I have to agree with the TJX associates. The customers of TJ Maxx are very rude and ungrateful people. Most customers are very messy and steal. There are those who are very nice but we associates mainly deal with pompous ###s who demand having it their way. What I mean by "their way" is the fact that these idiots want a discount for practically everything! 10% is the highest we go until the next mark down and even if we try to explain it nicely to the customers, we still end up receiving a bad attitude. Also I find the security "LP" absolutely useless and pathetic! People steal from TJ Maxx all the time and I believe that they have found ways to make it easier. Disgustingly enough people will change out of their undergarments and switch their used nasty clothing for our TJ Maxx merchandise. I literally have found used bras and panties at my job. Not to mention ###, yes human feces. For Christs sakes people really?! Also the managers at my store are Jerks. We hardly get any appreciation for all the hard work we do. We put up with customer ### everyday, you would think that we would at least get a "good job", no! The managers are greedy and selfish. Especially my store manager! She is a complete ###! You can't even ask a simple question without getting a stank face from her. Also when our TJ Maxx changes any rule, we are expected to know it even if the manager doesn't explain it to us. Also the whole "customer service will decrease shop lifting" is a joke. People who intend to shop lift will continue to shop lift even if we provide good customer service. The only way they might stop stealing is if we actually get a good security system.

I work for TJMAXX in Texas and I am a key carrier now . I was a CEC for 2 years and I stuck to the return policy and I trained the CEC who took my place along with the FEC's . I also trained each and everyone of our cashiers.. no ticket no reciept no return. My mangagers stand behind me. Also, after 30 days its store credit no if and or butts about it. We all know who our thieves are and we don't take their merchandise back.. we make them take it back to where they stole it from. My rude customers who say they are gonna call corporate on me I say fine here is the number here is my name.. have them call me when you are through talking to them. My manager nor I recieve a call from corporate cause the customer knew I was right and they were wrong. I don't play customers games. Yes, I believe customers are right to a fault... . But I always prove them wrong when I get a chance and i love it. No, we don't have LP in our building but we customer service everyone of our customers and we know most of them by name or face cause we are a small community.

I was a coordinator for Marshalls and was repeatedly harassed by management for 2 year before quitting. I was discriminated against, verbally, sexually, and emotionally abused. It has taken a good 8 months to get over the 2 years of abuse. The thing that still haunts me is I was written up for things I didn't do and they never asked my side of the story. Tried to go to HR and found out...HR IS NOT YOUR FRIEND! Don't waist your time with this company if you have a good work ethic because you will end up doing the job of 3 people while management and there favorite walk around doing nothing.

I just asked for a transfer because of school, its been three weeks since I made this move, and I asked to start work at this new store a week after I got there. Everything is fine, my former manager put in the transfer, but now it seems like this new store will not put me on the schedule, I am a college student, and my expenses are building up, everytime I call to speak to the manager that makes the schedule she is never available. I am thinking about calling the corporate office, because I need to get back to work, I can not go on to a fourth week without going to work. Someone please, any advice?

Right when i went on medical leave i contacted my HR and they reassured me that i wasent going to have any problems with mu insurance because my DR had filled out all the necessary paper work. Now from one day to another i find out that my HEALTH INSURANCE is cancelled. I never receI'ved a notice from my health insurance telling me that it was going to be cancelled because HR sent all my paper work to my work TJ MAXX! One of the managers their sent all my HEALTH INSURANCE papers to the wrong address. I never receI'ved the papers of course because in dont lI've their no more. I gave my new address to one odf the managers like a year ago that is not my fault if managers are not doing their job correctly. I have talked to my HR many many times talked to corporate talk to my district manager and talked to my store manager. No one is willing to take the blame for their mistake! Every I've talked to tell me it was my responsibility to get my health insurance papers. First of all i was in hospital for a week and second its not my fault that the manager send all my paper work to wrong address. All i want is to get my health insurance back and for some one to be responsible for this. Its causing me allot of stress and headaches and money. Something i dont need right now because in recovering from my surgery. This is just making it allot more difficult for my health and recovery.

T.J. Maxx rude clerk

I purchased a shirt, t-shirt, skin care and an ipod earpiece. The young, white, male clerk that rang up my purchases was Nick. I observed that he was clean cut and had 2 big "diamond" earrings (approximately 2 carats each) in both ears.

I asked if he would be able to open the earpiece as I do not have an ipod as stated on the product but had the new Droid. I wasn't sure if this would fit into my new phone.

I asked several times and each time he kept advising that "it probably would fit" but I still wanted to be certain as I did not want to make a trip back just to return the item. He then asked an older Asian clerk who then advised him that he could open the earpiece.

As I checked with my Droid, it seemed to fit but was not as snug as my current earpiece that I already had on it. Nick then asked if I wanted them and I said that I would take them. He handed them back to me with the earpiece and plastic box all disorganized. He did not bag the item; he just handed them and the box it came in to me.

I then advised him that I wanted a bag for it along with my other purchases. There was a pause thereafter. There was no motion or action from Nick to ring up my purchases. I then advised Nick that I wanted to purchase all of the other items on the counter.

I then observed him throwing the items that I was purchasing in the bag. I have always observed the store clerks at any retain store fold up any clothing purchased and then placing them in the bag(s).

It appeared to me that he was annoyed that he had to open the earpiece for me at my request.

After he threw the items in the bag, I then stated that he didn't have to be mad. He then said that he was not mad, that he was just bagging the items but the complexion on his face immediately turned red.

I then proceeded to get the cash from my bag and advised Nick that he will find other things in life that will get him mad.

At the conclusion of the sales transaction, I said "thank you Nick".

Perhaps one day Nick will understand what customer service means.

Person: For one thing your remodeling was done 15 YEARS AGO. Come on, does your car dealship give you a 15 yr warranty or if you purchased a modem for your computer does it give a 15 warranty? NO. I seem to think that you are definitely in denial of what a contract with a warranty is. Apart from that, I personally know the contractors that work with Portland Building. They have constructed a 1500 sq ft addition to my house in 2005. They were very considerate of the fact that we were living in our home at the time of the demo and construction of my kitchen, master bath and master bedroom. They were timely, neat and very respectful. The materials: foundation, lumber, siding. electrical, heating, insulation, drywall and painting were purchased from Reputable vendors in our area. In fact, I still purchase items from 3 of them. They also warranty their products. Some with lifetime and some not. But they are always willing to help with THEIR product. Time, weather and just plain wear and tear are part of the process when owning a home. Seriously, does your car dealership warranty chips from gravel trucks hitting your car?

T.J. Maxx return policy

The receipt says that you can return items with a receipt within 30 days. The problem is that when i went to return an item that was bought for me as a gift and the returns counter said T.J. Maxx had a Christmas policy. This policy she said but could not show me proof of meant that after the 5th of January i could not return the item for the money that was paid for it but had to get a money order. Their was no gift receipt for this item it was a regular receipt. I have shopped at T.J. Maxx before and even worked there when i was a teenager and have never heard of this policy and still haven't seen any proof of it. I don't plan on returning any time soon because of the aggravation.

I have been a loyal shopper ever since the store has opened I live close by and stop in many times a week. The store up untill a week a go has always been clean with friendly people working there it was unlike any other t.j.maxx. I came in about a week a go and was shocked to find I could hardly get down the paths for tables of shoes. There was not enough room to walk and if some one else was in the way you couldn't go around them. The store was a mess not like it had ever been before so I asked a girl ware the store manager was. I was pointed in the direction of her and made my way over. The manager was at the front of the store talking very louldly to a young girl. The manager was having one of the girls take down a display wall because the manager told her it was not classy. The girl looked very upsett and did as she was told then muttered that the girl had no class either I was shocked to see that. I then went over to the manager and told her about the shoe tables and she told me this is the way we do things now. I then said it never looked this poorly befor and the store manager told me things change. I felt she was rude lould and she her self was lacking any kind of class. I will no longer be going to that store because they do not know how to talk to people.

T.J. Maxx sorry manager

The store manager at the TJ Maxx in Cookeville, TN is a sorry manager. On Dec 7th an associate's mother got into a bad car wreck. When the associate asked to leave, the manager gave her a box of tissues and told her to get back in the fitting room. The associate's mother ended up with a broken leg and her mouth was wired. The manager would not let the associate leave. I don't know about anybody else, but if that was my mother, I would have just walked out and went to the hospital. The manager should have just let the young lady leave. This manager had no right making the young lady stay there while her mother was being rushed to the hospital.

I would've told that manager to shove the tissues up their ### and walked out. You can get another job, but not another mother.

It is so funny that this chick Irish really thinks that she is better that anyone on here. You really are delusional sweetheart. Arent you the one thats on "VACATION" why on earth are you still on this board talking trash. You clearly have no life, no REAL friends and i highly doubt that you have a husband. No man on earth would want a sailor talking sheman as a wife. Men like ladies...not trash. You need help...a therapist, alot of drugs, GOD, maybe even group sessions about accepting who you really are...lol
Look into Irsh, i hope you can finally love yourself so you wont be so hateful

T.J. Maxx rude customer service

10/06/ 2009.

I been shopping at TJ Maxx for the last 15 years and had the best customner service anywhere till tonight. While shopping at the Bangor Maine store, I was trying to pick out some diffrent outfits, it was in the last hour that they were open, They had maintenance crew out moving all the racks, everytime I went for a rack they would shove it out of my way and take it stuffing them all in one corner where I couldn't access anything, while in this same time some lady would bellow out on the intercome please hurry an make y our final selections and bring them to the front reminding me every 5 mins they were about to close. These people giving me dirty looks. So at the end of the night I found a few items and the manager MITSY gave me a hard time about trying them on and when I needed a diffrent size she stated "sir we are closed" in a very rude disrespectful tone. So I was unable to make my purchase. Then on the way out she pushed us out the door and locked them behind me. Further more giving me more dirty looks like how dare i even be there.
In All the years I have shopped at TJ Maxx the entire staff has always been excellent. But this one incedent with this one lady, has put a bad taste in my mouth, I don't think I have ever felt that humilated in all my life.
For the record, I have spent nearly a grand a week at this store for a long time, an always enjoyed my experiance there.
Untill this evening this evening this Manager named Mitsy, they called her was one of the rudest people I have ever met. Very poor customer service, and people skills I have ever seen. Tj Maxx and Marshalls is'nt the only game in town, dispite good name brands. I will be bringing my business to Burlington Coat Factory, which has excellent name brands AND customer service.
I will make sure my co horts and affiliates, bring there business elsewhere as the result of this one person. Furthermore, I am not one to come on to these complaint sites, but this business, needs to know that this person has no business in customer service and tonight I felt like the whole time I was there, I was more of a bother to them, and didn't belong.

If the issue was with the cleaning crew condensing racks together and thus not allowing you to shop off them, then you should probably know that these cleaning crews also are not hired directly by TJ Maxx and are simply contracted out by the cleaning agency who TJ Maxx contracts to clean their stores. And you should also probably know that these stores do not start this process until the store is closed. Which tells me that by "the last hour", you probably either mean the last few mins or when they are already closed.

It's unfortunate that you were rushed during your shopping experience, but stores do have a limited payroll and can only afford to keep staff for so many non-productive hours (after the store is closed and is no longer making anymore money). As such, they need to make sure they utilize the associates as effectively as possible so that the store is cleaned, prepped, and ready for business the next morning. When customers stay after hours, this delays the process thus driving up cost of payroll (which subsequently gets passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices) or leaving stores in a state that is less than desireable for an ideal shopping experience.

For the $52, 000 a year you claim to spend at the store, it would have been more efficient for you to have bribed the overworked manager to stay after the store had closed than to complain here to an audience that (most of us) works for minimum wage at retail stores and can't identify with your budget or your attitude at all.

If you were shopping at the last hour of the day you obviously have nothing to do. If you have been shopping at tjmaxx for 15 years, you should know that they have to start cleaning up the mess after the supper hour, so they can get home at a decent hour. They have to stay at least 45 min AFTER the store closes to make sure it is at least not trashed for the next morning for the next round of slobs to make their way into the store. If people weren't such slobs, the store wouldn't look the way it does and the cleaning crew would not have to move all the racks to clean under them. People throw everything under the racks from used kotex to dirty diapers to soiled underwear. Not including any kind of drinks or food. If the store wasn't cleaned, merchandise would be moving on the floor. Company policy dictates when and what will be said at the closing announcement, if you have a watch, the announcements would not have to be said, and customers are NEVER PUSHED OUT THE DOOR. If you have so many issues, why don't you get a job there and see what its like, you will change your tune pretty fast and give these people medals for putting up with people like you

T.J. Maxx customer service

While in the store for an exhange of merchandise I encountered a very rude associate. In a very rude manner as if I were a child or a animal I had a sales associate to bark orders at me as to where to STAND for returns. We I expressed my displeasure in her tone & stated that she would not speak to me in such a manner she called for her manager. The manager simply thought it would placate me by saying...sorry! When I explained to her although this way my first experience with the sales associate & her unproffessional demeanor it was not the 1st time I had WITNESSED her rude behavior with other people in the store. The MANAGER stated I was causing a scene. Not once did I yell. But my irritation in her non-chalance was felt & she deemed that as a scene. She then walked away from me standing at the counter speaking. Upon my exit of the store the manager along with the rude associate and another associate shared a laugh. It seems to me the MANAGER nor her associates know a thing about customer service.

T.J. Maxx very rude cashier

I went into the Deerfield Beach T.J. maxx to return some items last week for a friend. I was waited on by a man named Marcus. He immediatley began examing my reciept and the tags on the merchandise as if I am some kind of theif. He looked in some book and then scanned the tags through a computer. After this he came back and said "Hunn, these are 20 dollar shoes not 70 dollar Juicy Coture shoes OK, We wont be returning these, and as for your shirts these are not 40 dollar Ed Hardy shirts these are thrift shop shirts so if you think I was born yesterday you were sadly mistaking" Excuse Me! Who does this kid think he is? I told him i was just doing a favor for a friend. He then told me that he knew exactly what was going on here and also said exactly these words, " Hun on your best day you wont be as smart as i am on my worst day. do you understand?!" I cursed at him and demanded to see the manager. I was rudely greeted by the store manager, an equally as rude and ignorant man named M. Richard who also said the these tags were wrong. Together the two continued to belittle me and embarass me infront of everyone. They kept pointing at some typed letter taped at the register. The two even seemed to find how rude they were being funny because they kept laughing at their own comments. Both of them deserve each other and have no buisness working with the public period!

I hate you ticket switchers that start cursing, yelling, denying everything... It's not my policy it's the store's . If I take your crap back then I get reprimanded for it. I don't start off hating you... but you make me. There are some pleasant crooks that just comeback a different day or to a different store... You need to fight like somebeast. You know you did something wrong that's why you get emotional about it. I call as many of you in to security as I can so they have a clear picture of you. Or toss your forgotten keys/ids in the trash...

Honestly, I think you need to ask yourself, "is my friend who asked me to return these items actually my friend?" All stores have ways of knowing if tickets have been changed and it sounds like your friend was trying to pull the big switch-a-roo to get some extra cash. The boy nor the manager were polite to you and should have been more discrete. However, they were just following company policy and procedure, by not returning the merchandise. Your friend, however, was clearly doing something fraudulent and didn't care if you took the heat for it, if the cashier did not accept the merchandise back for the price marked.

So wrong of them to mistreat you like a customer. You should sue the store for their actions on their service. That's NO way to treat a customer.
