The Pep Boys - Transmission solenoid replacement

I took my car into pep boys because of my check engine light. I specifically asked them to let me know what the issue was before they do any work. They told me I needed a new solenoid and that the check engine light would not be on after that, solving the issue. I come back for pick up my car and not even 3 minutes into driving it, I noticed that the same issues I had before showed up again, as if they didn’t do any work on it. I take my car back to them (the manager I spoke with was Martin), wait an additional 4 days for my car back, only for them to give me my car back with the exact same issue, claiming it to be fixed. They then give me the option of taking it to Honda to get a part and a second opinion or having them put in the Honda part. Martin, the manager, had also assured me that I would be receiving my refund if Honda comes back and says the car still has the issue. Seeing as they seemed unfit to solve my issue, I took it to Honda. A couple days later, Honda tells me that the transmission is bad. So I go back to Martin and pep boys and inquire about how to get my refund that I was promised and he told me that they don’t owe me a refund. I then ask to speak to his manager but he said he didn’t know I’m his manager’s schedule nor if he was working today. I asked Martin if I could leave my phone number for his manager to call, which he proceeded to say he had costumers waiting and “wasn’t going to do this with me”.

Claimed loss: Roughly $1,000

Desired outcome: Full refund of $1,000

The Pep Boys - service

On Wednesday Oct 16, 2019, I dropped my 2014 BMW 435i off to pep boys 1685 Howell Mill Road NW, Atlanta Georgia 30318 for minor repair. While in the care of pep boys my car was hit and severally damaged. I was NOT contacted when incident happened in fact incident information was withheld from me until AFTER payment of service. I feel this was extremely deceptive, unprofessional and Iam not happy

Upon arriving to retrieve my vehicle manager Ron Stamper offered me an additional $10 discount even still before telling me that they had wrecked my vehicle. After paying for service Ron said lets walk around your vehicle which is when I was showed the damage (Iam attaching photos). My initial reaction as would be anyones reaction was to become hysterical as I did not drop my car off in this condition. Ron Stampers only reaponse was "thats why people have insurance". I was treated as if this was no big deal and at no fault of pep boys. Ron then just told me to call coporate who filed a claim and gave me claim numbers #677009 & #677045 then told me corporate would contact me within 24 to 48 hours. Today is Monday Oct 21, 2019 and no one has contacted me.

Along with the extreme body damage to my vehicle, the work that I went in for was not done properly and has caused additional damage to my car. My vehicle cut off twice (which it was not doing before I dropped it off), so the mechanic that did the work came and checked under my hood and said oh this piece is off I'll reattach it. He popped the part back on and said I should be good to go. Now with all this please keep in mind I also had a busted tail light that no one offered to cover for me (since THEY did it) to prevent me from now getting a ticket for driving with a busted tail light. So leaving the lot my check engine light comes on ( which was not doing that prior to me bringing my vehicle in). I return to pep boys and mechanic just reset the light. I leave and return to work, upon me leaving work check engine light comes on AGAIN and I return to pep boys where all mechanics had left for the day with 30 minutes left before garage actually closes.

I left my car on the property because it kept cutting off and I was unsure if it would make it home. Please note I have since had my insurance company pick up and tow my vehicle to the BMW dealership to be properly repaired.

Iam writing because not only was this situation handled badly Iam now being held responsible for a charge for work on my car that I have had to have redone properly costing me an additional $2500.00. I have not had a call from pep boys not even an apology and I feel that I should be refunded the $800 charge on my pep boys card for bad work done to my vehicle, the $2500 I paid yo have the work redone properly, compensation for being without my vehicle for now 12 days, and the now diminished value of my car caused by this store.

Due to the fact that I have had to write you this letter Iam looking for immediate resolution before proceeding with legal action.
