Synchrony Bank review: Synchrony bank creates barriers for cd holders and traps you into auto-renewal

Synchrony Bank online tools leave much to be desired.
1 - They do not allow to cancel a CD - they force you into auto-renewing at the same term with some exceptions - Portals with other online banks such as CapitalOne, Marcus, Barclay's and many others let you set up your desired outcome at any time - NOT Synchrony
2 - Approx 45 days before renewal they will let you select a different term but not renewing is not an option - you are forced to call in
3 - If you miss calling in you are then stuck with an auto renewal unless you cancel within 10 days after the auo renew
4 - On a small CD that auto renewed even though only a couple of days that we were notified about the fee to cancel it was hudnreds of dollars

The portal is crap and the practices trap money in the financial institution. No other bank I have dealt with behaves like this. Will avoid using this bank going forward.
