FML.
This trip has been a nightmare. My friend was unexpectedly denied because their passport expired at the airport. Cool, I get it. I paid $2570 for two people for one week and I ended up going to Mexico alone, crying every day. My friend paid for rush delivery. He bought another one-way ticket, scheduled a taxi (because he missed the shuttle and won’t honor it), paid for rush delivery for his passport and will finally be here tomorrow. I’ve been alone crying every day and leave Saturday. You don’t book an all inclusive to spend it alone. Trying to book reservations as hard as well because my room said there was two of us, so I wouldn’t get served for over 30 minutes because they think I’m waiting for someone. I was so embarrassing and ignored left ,right and centre. Even the buffet was hard to get attention.
I messaged my friends in Canada, and they let me know that they had a friend 30 minutes away who could come hang out with me so I wasn’t so lonely. Since I had already paid for two people at the resort for seven days, I figured he could probably use the wristband. SINCE I ALREADY PAID FOR 2! Unfortunately, they made me spend US$60 for an evening past. But I [censored]ing it paid it because I wanted a friend so bad. I am a single female alone in Mexico. Scared. I had about 20 people messaged me when the Canadian died ago asking if it was me. No but it could’ve been.
Anyways, long story short, my friend had too much to drink, but unfortunately drove here, so we were left with the decision to send him drunk and hope he doesn’t die in a car accident or get arrested, or let him spend the night at the hotel. The Catalonia hotel and resorts made me pay an additional $260 USD for a third person in my room $4000 pesos.. when they already knew only one person was in my room, when I paid for two. I asked if they could minus the $60 USD I had already paid for the evening pass and they said no since I’m now paying for full night, and they said, “no”.I am now out over US$300 because I didn’t want my friend to die in an accident. And I’m still alone. Not to mention my friend having to pay a whole extra to arrive here as well, but I can’t understand that is not your fault.
Nobody’s helped me. And finally, I got some nice representatives yesterday to send an email today only to report that you said “too bad”.
That is very unprofessional of this company, especially when a lot of Canadians that stay at this resort. And charging us USD is an extra 25% of our currency. I am from Vancouver Canada with a really big social media following ready to share my story. I don’t want anyone else to be in my situation. EVER! So unless somebody looks at my situation and gets back to my with a solution, I am ready to share this to my social media.
Please send me a direct email ASAP. Attached are the receipts of the additional money I’ve had to pay when I already paid for an additional person in my room. please note your answer will be shared. Especially because Sunwing cares is not valid to file a complaint, every [censored]ing customer support email on ChatGPT has not gone through, until I finally found this for him to complain. Making the situation even worse and more frustrating. I can attach more photos and receipts, but this site would only allow one, so I used my booking info.
